I'm going out on a limb here but.....I wanted Blueberry Pancakes and this was the only place I could think of that would meet my expectations. You know they diiiiiiid! Anyway, my brother and I came in one morning for breakfast. I got a two Blueberry Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Hash Browns (Extra Crispy), and 2 strips of Bacon. How do I express how exceedingly good these pancakes were. I really don't know if I can. They come with some type of Blueberry compote on top with whipped cream. These suckers didn't even need butter they were so good. Plus the pancakes themselves had this amazing consistency of a slightly salty cakey texture mixed with the sweetness of the blueberries. These pancakes met my blueberry expectations 100% Now, I don't think Ill be making this a regular thing for breakfast but I was so happy that I came in here to treat myself. If a younger guy takes your order and doesn't write it down - ask for a different table/server. Awhile ago I ordered sausage and got bacon, today I ordered scramby eggs and got eggs over easy. *sigh* I wish he would just give up the "I can memorize everything" demeanor and just use a pen and paper like everyone else. The food is IHOP food and the place is pretty clean. I have been to this IHOP quite a few times in the last month, and my experiences have ranged but they are mostly good. One of the reasons we have bee n coming here is it's actually cheaper than going to Denny's, but their menus are pretty much mirror images. I also love the fact that they give you a pickle spear whenever you order a burger. As per usual I get a burger or sandwich a majority of the time, and usually get a side of fries or onion rings. The burger has tasted pretty darn good a few of the times, and others it has been either over cooked or they didn't have normal size burgers so they used two junior burgers. It was a nice thought but still not the same. The onion rings and fries have always been good however. Last night I went for something completely out of my element at these places and ordered the Chicken Parmesan. I loved they it came with a side salad, and the chicken wasn't too bad. The pasta was quite undercooked though. The service can be great or iffy, depending on the time of day usually. If you go in the early morning or afternoon the service is spot on, but if you go later in the day it can be pretty bad. Last night the place wasn't packed but there were still a few tables full, and they had one guy waiting on them all. Being understaffed sucks, and sadly it resulted in us eating our dinner with stacks of our empty dishes for a view. I still much prefer IHOP over Denny's. read more

I would never really choose to eat at an IHOP normally, but they are all over the place out here and there doesn't seem to be other breakfast options. I was hungry so I stopped to get some pancakes. I think $10 for a pretty standard breakfast is ridiculous. Here, it was just pancakes, bacon and coffee and it cost over $10 with tax. I thought the bacon was fine, but the pancakes were nothing special. Actually, they didn't even have much flavor. Also, the waitress didn't bring out maple syrup and disappeared for a long time. Came here Sunday morning around 10am. I was surprised there wasn't a long line considering it's a popular time to get brunch, but I was pleased to get seated moments after we were greeted by the hostess. Our server was very kind, petite blonde lady. My mom ordered the Country omelette: Ham & cheese, my dad ordered the original French toast with sausage on the side, and my sister ordered the Bananas Foster Brioche French toast. They all enjoyed their food. I ordered the Strawberry Vanilla French toast. It was my first time trying it and with each bite, I was reminded of my childhood. I used to love Pillsbury Toaster strudels and the stuffed French toast tasted like a classier adult version of it. I absolutely loved the cream cheese filling and the glazed strawberries on top. It's a sweet breakfast I wouldn't mind having every once in a while. I'm honestly impressed with their French toast. Now I know what I'll be ordering the next time I visit. read more

When my family said were going to I hop , I was a little disappointed; however, I just went along since I was really hungry. I've changed my thinking about this establishment today. Breakfast was quick and delicious this morning. Our waiter (Memo) was friendly, speedy and made sure everything was okay. We had a party of six, and we was in and out in less than an hour. I tried Uber Eats for the first time this week. Ordered a Mothers Day brunch 5 days in advance. On the special day the driver called me to ask for help. He had been waiting for the food 90 minutes. I called IHOP and was told they were swamped. How is this a surprise on Mothers Day. They didn't seem to have my order so I read it back to her. An hour later it was delivered cold. This was inexcusable for a brunch planned for two mothers. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

Pretty good service, and awesome staff members. The food quality can vary, (I've had some very undercooked scrambled eggs before), but it's generally solidly 4/5. There is a really creepy guy who I think might be a manager, and he makes me - and presumably other women- incredibly uncomfortable, but My only real complaint is that the bathroom smells like my kitty litter box, so that's kinda gross. read more

Came in here this afternoon for a late brunch. Although our service and food was adequate, the price of our meal was ridiculous. For two of the ten by two which were about $11.50 each, two iced teas, and two added sides of fruit that came out in the dishes you usually get a side of salad dressing in, our bill suddenly jumped up to$49! Um... how can a serving of fruit that's about half a cup in size cost $5.50 each?? A side of pancakes costs less!! A side of bacon costs less!! We asked for confirmation and sure enough it was correct, we were charged $11.00 for a total of 1 cup of fruit between my husband and I split between two little salad dressing dishes! Ludicrous!! This establishment is obviously privately operated so we won't be visiting again and you too should look elsewhere when you want to find something for brunch! Not like the options aren't plentiful in this area!! read more

I'm going to start off by saying this would easily have been a 5 star review had my eggs and hash browns been approximately 8° warmer and slightly saltier. To start off, the whipped cream hit the spot. The aftertaste kind of reminded me of calcium tablets from Costco. However, the flavor and texture really encapsulated the nostalgia of a fresh can of ReddiWip. The Tres Leches pancakes were soft, sweet, and delectable. The syrup paired with the cakes took me back to my travels in Ontario, Canada unlike any other pancakes I've ever consumed. The sausage links were mildly over salted but incredibly savory and juicy. The butter was whipped to perfection and topped the cakes like a cherry on a milkshake. Overall, my experience made my toes tingle and twitch with excitement. 10/10 would come back again read more

The I-hop in Martinez is so nasty, food and service. Nothing cheaper than $12 , and 3 + for a cup of coffee. My husband and myself had breakfast here and just having the quick 2 eggs breakfast, we wanted the egg well done and it came all runny. The waitress just standing in the corner talking to her friend for 10 minutes before take our order, and waited another 20 minutes to get her attention to take the egg to get it cook some more. For 2 egg, and piece toast, a piece ham (you can get Big Breakfast from McDonald will cook fresh and look and smell tasty for under $6) Coffee here is 3+ dollars they use to give you refill jar so you can refill yourself but no more. Our breakfast comes to $36 dollars, and left with a nasty feeling because the place is badly needed for update, everything is old and not clean, I stopped at McDonald to use their bathroom and get a LARGE fresh cup of coffer for a dollar. Well, years ago I used to come here with my Dad every weekend and we were always served by the same people and always had great experiences but lately that has not been the case. I found that the food is still good but some of the servers need a serious attitude adjustment. The owner/manager guy is cool but all of the male servers I have had where awful only the female servers have been friendly and attentive. read more

It was IHOP. Nothing to write home about really. I was a little annoyed that we had to wait over 5 minutes to be seated. Normally, that isn't even worth mentioning, but the reason we had to wait was because the place was abandoned. There simply was no one attending the front desk area where you wait to be seated. I am pretty sure I saw an employee sitting at a table way in the back corner, who looked straight at us from his seat but didn't bother to tell anyone that someone was waiting around to be seated. Eventually someone showed up, so we were seated; it just took a lot longer than it should have. Even though we were only one of two parties in the place, the service was still mediocre at best. Not an IHOP fan at all, but came to donate for Children's Hospital in their annual "free pancake" fundraiser. Today, the food was actually pretty good for the type of place IHOP is. I had pancakes and hubby had chicken crepes and we were pleasantly surprised. It's been almost 2 years since we stopped because the last IHOP was less than impressive....So, for IHOP...it was pretty good. Have to say though (outside of Samson at Steamboat-Concord), our waiter, Roberto was awesome. What a pleasant employee. Not only did he make appropriate work conversation as far as being our server, he went out of his way to actually make human conversations and left us with a positive interaction. He was prompt, on top of things (even when super busy) and went the extra mile in helping us package up our to-go items. It was a good IHOP visit. read more

Ok its an IHOP so my hopes were not high. The service was pretty good and overall the restaurant seemed very clean. The meal came out quickly but unfortunately the food was not that great. As some of the previous reviews have said the food was blah and I wholeheartedly agree. The bacon was undercooked the hash browns even though I asked for extra crispy were almost raw except for the top which was brown my pancakes were actually pretty good. My Pepsi was completely gross and over carbonated the waitress took it back and said they change the mix brought me a new one however it tasted exactly the same. I got my Pepsi exchange for a Dr Pepper which was slightly better but still had a terrible mix on the syrup and tasted very watery. I don't really plan on returning the food was just not worth the money. I'm giving two stars only for the service the food would probably be negative one star read more

The bacon was very thin, maybe that's why they say there are 6 slices of it in the omelet., tasted ok. My daughter had the create a face pancake. Comes with 2 syrup soaked strawberries for the eyes and 5 or so small banana slices for the mouth and a bit of whipped cream for nose (already added) and you get a go-gurt type yogurt tube which is for the hair or ears or moustache as it was used for that for my daughters face. It was the day after Christmas and I'm guessing a lot of workers called in-sick because the host and manager were taking orders and serving people. They were late with our drinks, they served 3 out of 4 of us and said the fourth meal was on its way which was okay but it didn't come out until 5 minutes later. And that in the restaurant world is a "no-no". I ordered Eggs Benedicts which is one of my favorite dishes and one that is good based on the hollandaise sauce. Everything was good, and the sauce was pretty tasty, but that made me taste all the butter. It was a little thick and rich than normal. Would I go back? It's my grandfather's favorite breakfast place to go when he visits so that is probably the only time I'll go back. Plus, I had a gift card, so you know =) read more

Even though there is a Ihop much closer to our home, my family often drives the extra distance to this Ihop because the service is always good and its never crowded whereas the Ihop on Clayton Road is usually crowded & understaffed which results in subpar service. The Martinez Ihop is the way to go. read more

My BF ordered a House Salad and 3/4 of the way through eating it he found dark mold on the onions in his salad. He went up to the "manager" and showed him the mold. The "manager" simply shrugged his shoulders and said nothing. My BF pointed out the mold and the "manager" again shrugged his shoulders like it was nothing. Bleh. I'm always disappointed with this place, and I will never go again after this last time. I ordered an omelette with veggies and spinach, what I received was a plate of half cooked spinach with some egg. I know spinach is spinach, but wow. Cook it first! I know food never really looks like the picture on the menu, but the menu at least showed cooked spinach. My fiancee had a very upset stomach after his omelette also.
