Didn't care for tbe waitresses attitude. She tried to make me feel guilty for ordering ahead of the party and completely forgot my drink. When I attempted to get her attention she ignored me. Food was luke warm at best and my crepes tasted savory when it was suppose to be sweet. A person in my party tried to change theur order and she comes charging at the table telling us the check was already closed and acted like she was doing us a favor by changing our order. The service was terrible, from the moment we stepped in the building and the hostess was on her cellphone, looking straight at us and still speaking to the person on the other line about something personal. The manager was rude, our server was inattentive and forgetful, and there was only one other table in the entire restaurant. The staff was gathered by the touch screen for orders to chat, which is fine, save for when our server walks away with one of our cups and never comes back with it. It was a very awkward experience. However, the food was on par for IHOP. I enjoy the sweet breakfast options like the Stuffed French Toast. Always tasty with strawberries. read more

We have been coming to this IHOP location for 10 years however the severe decline in service has led us elsewhere now. We arrived at 8:30am on a Saturday morning and while we were seated right away, it took a full 15 minutes before someone came to take our order. Then it took another 40 minutes for our food to arrive. Not once during that time did the waiter check on us. The food was fine when it arrived. Then when we went to pay the cashier the line was at a stand still because the cashier didn't have the authority to apply a military discount. Mind you, this is a restaurant that is 4 miles from Quantico Marine Corp Base so odds are that at least half of their customers are military. It took another 10 minutes to pay the bill. It is unbelievable that a cashier would have to call a manager to apply a commonly used discount. I would love to say that this was a one off experience but sadly we had a similar experience last time we came last month. I suspect that a lot of this has to do with the new manager that took over. We won't be back though. Montclair Diner across the street is a better option if you want good food AND service. read more

Just left this IHOP for the 2nd time in 6 month due to poor service, incorrect order, poor attitude of waitress, etc. I thought twice about going there, but went anyway. My expectations were better service this time, but no it did not happen. My food order came not as o requested, part of it was brought back to the kitchen to be redone while the remainder of my meal got cold on my table while waiting. After 15 minutes the rest of my order still never came. I inquired and was asked, "You did not get the rest of your order yet"? I said no, I'm leaving and I did not touch the food on the table. On June 28, 2019 my party of three went into this restaurant for lunch and were greeted by a cheerful hostess who seated us immediately and gave us menus. We were told a waitress would serve us soon. After not having seen a waitress after sitting there for fifteen minutes I told the hostess we had not been waited on and she cheerfully said she would see that the waitress would see us soon. After ten more minutes passed with no contact from a server we quietly left the building. We must be slow learners - we should have left much earlier. read more

I wouldn't come back to this iHop ever again. Save your time and go to the Woodbridge one. When we walked in, there wasn't a host, they're obviously understaffed in some departments and I work in a restaurant so I understand, but they let us stand up there for ten minutes, while people were crowding the entrance. When we finally got seated, our server didn't greet us for almost 15 minutes, and when she did she rushed us and took ten minutes with our drinks. We also ordered, and the people who sat near us got their food, drinks and servers before us, while we got there before them; my lemonade was barely yellow, it was watered down and there was a hair on my cup. When she finally came back she had a attitude and took it. I ordered steak and pancakes, my steak was grey and dry. My friend ordered eggs, bacon and pancakes, the pancakes weren't fully cooked and they were gooey. We told our server and she took the pancakes back, and when we got the checks she still charged us for the hairy lemonade and half cooked pancakes. This restaurant is a mess. Go to the one in woodbridge, that'll be worth your time and money. read more

I waited 50 minutes for a to go order there was one receptionist(Donna) and the other waitresses just kept walking back and forth ignoring me and the massive line of people waiting in the lobby to be served. While I don't blame Donna for not being able to help everyone in a timely manner there are ZERO reasons why I should have waited 50 minutes for an omelette. On top of that here was one waitress (Desarae)who instead of helping decided it was better to nonchalantly tell me I will be helped eventually and then yell at Donna about not helping get drinks and that there shouldn't be a line at the door if it's not busy. Her attitude was terrible towards her coworker and unprofessional. I asked for my money back because I no longer had time to even eat my food before work and Donna said I had to wait for the manager Kelvin who was in the back cooking. Then Desare came up and refunded the money or at least what I thought would be a refund back to my credit card but gave me a receipt that said it was cash that was refunded to me. When I went back to ask about it she said no that's just what it looks like when we cancel out the order rather than putting the money back on your card and we just going to void the transaction and she had attitude with me about it. By this time I had been in the restaurant for an hour with this issue so I asked to speak to the manager again. Donna went to talk to the manager who would not leave the kitchen to come speak to me about this issue at all she kept telling me that he was literally flipping pancakes as we spoke so I never got to talk to him but another waitress was called over Sonja to explain to me how the refund and works when there's a voided transaction. I actually wanted to talk to the manager about the situation not really the refund but rather than risk being late to work over this nonsense I just said OK and left made sure that I got the managers names. This needs to be corrected. After looking at my two receipts they didn't even refund me the correct amount. I did not bother going back in because I know it will just be more issues to deal with. The attitudes were not professional. I don't want this to happen to anyone else. This was a horrible experience and I will never come back here or let any of my friends or family suggest coming here. -Highly disappointed customer read more

Worst dining experience, EVER. The server was unclean, and looked to be on drugs. We waited an hour for food, when my sandwich arrived, the meat looked old and smelled funny. The cheese omlet was also unedible. The corn bread stuffing on the third entree was mushy and looked like it was chewed up and spit on the plate. I left disgusted, hungry and with a sour stomach. I'm a frequent customer as this location. Overall, you come here and you can expect to get a typical Ihop experience. Food is almost always delicious. Staff is a hit or miss but overall generally friendly. There are some that just hate their job and don't want to be there. I'm writing this review because there are some staff that are awesome. They may make a mistake here or there, but they apologize and are always willing to correct it or make things right. A lot of the servers and workers are young, and the fact that they are apologetic and willing to make things right is enough for me. I do have a problem with management. This ihop could be AWESOME if there was some decent, competent management. The workers are there. There are some that probably need to leave. However, they have workers there with absolutely NO GUIDANCE OR MANAGEMENT. I have 0 idea who is managing this location but just as a customer that understands the importance of guidance and direction - there is hardly any leadership at this location. I can't tell the managers from the servers at times. It would be nice to see management. At this location, i DO NOT see any. If they hired or trained management- I believe that with some of their best workers, this location could be AWESOME and likely one of the best in NOVA. The servers lack motivation and guidance and can't seem to be their best without direction and guidance from their supervisors. That doesn't mean yelling or being unreasonable. It means putting some structure in place, rules, guidelines, and I could see a true turn around in there. Also some work appreciation for the employees would go far. I hope management takes notice and hire a superstar and change this location around. Just showing appreciation for the workers would likely result in the workers feeling better about themselves and their work product and ultimately doing a better job. It could be something as simple as "best server for the month" where individual tables cast ballots for their best server during their experience. The employee with the most ballots would get their photo posted in the restaurant as the best server. It could be anything- something along those lines of employee recognition. read more

As always, lackluster service and OK food. We came in on a Wednesday morning (no wait, not terribly busy) and waited over an hour for the food. When it came out it was cold and several people were missing items (bacon, butter, etc). My son's waffle came out rock hard. They replaced it when asked but it's small things like that adding up that gets frustrating. Our server was nice but inattentive and forgetful. First we waited to be seated when the place was practically empty. there May have been 6 people dining that night. It took forever to just get our drinks. Getting our food took even longer. we had agreed that if it took 5 more mins, we would leave and go to Waffle House. The food arrived, we ate with no follow up to see if we needed drinks or anything else. THEN we sat there waiting for our check. It took so long and no waiter anywhere. I went back into the kitchen and found him just standing there not doing anything. I told him we need our check as we would like to go. We left our table and then WAITED up front to pay. We ordered an omelette and a Cobb salad. Both were delicious but it took 50 minutes to get to our table. They said there was only one cook but there were only two tables when we arrived and they had received their meals so I can't understand what took 45 minutes. And it wasn't just tonight. Two weeks ago a burger came out instead of tilapia and a vanilla milkshake came out instead of chocolate. And we waited about 40 minutes for that too. There were a few tables that hadn't been bussed when we arrived and they finally got bussed five minutes before we left. Altogether a lackadaisical attitude on the part of the staff. This place is the worst IHOP I have been through. My family and I were treated very poorly by a lady who sat us down and asked us what we are drinking. She states she will not take our orders, just our drinks. We came on 3/1/2019 @9am. We were told that there was a bus that came in unexpectedly and that they are short staffed, it will be 30 minutes before some body would take our orders. We did get our drinks and 40 minutes later, still no waitress attending to us. That is when we asked the lady who served us drinks if she can come over because we needed more coffee and her word was "I can't help you ". Are you kidding me? The other waitresses did not even looked our way and we saw people who came after us being served and their orders being taken. Finally, a gentlemen by the name of Tony, who just started his shift came towards us and asked if we have been helped. His section is the other side of the restaurant and he came and attended to us. He took our orders and refilled our drinks. Our food came in and he was so nice and attended to us. Everybody else was so bad, we felt we were treated very poorly by the other waitresses and especially the lady who said "I cant help you". Tony is a great waiter and saved the day. Overall, this place sucks and will Never come here and will definitely not recommend this place at all!!! read more

By far one of my worst experiences EVER. If I could give negative stars, I would. Our server gave water, juice & coffee took our order & disappeared for 25 minutes only because I flagged her down to inquire about our order. She said 7-8 minutes more and after 10 more minutes ---still no food. Another server noticed us putting our jackets on and asked the kitchen about our order & then it came out (in under a minute). In addition, the lack of attention by our server did not go unnoticed as she was more concerned with a table in the front (not sure if it was her family or close friends). Piss poor service, waiter had an attitude and table wasn't even cleaned off when we got there. Food is typical ihop food, but the staffing leaves much to be desired. Also, not sure what's going on with the phone lines, but I tried to call in several times and I either received a busy signal or the high - pitched screeching noise you get when you call a fax line. Avoid this one and travel about 15 mins up the road and visit the IHOP off of Smoketown. Cracker Barrel and Silver Diner are close by as well, and they have similar breakfast options with better service and a cleaner restaurant. read more

Came here at noon in Memorial Day, was seated within 5 minutes, off to a good start. Then the waiter came. I cannot recall his name but he was horrendous. When waiting for our orders he seemed bored and impatient. It took 25 minutes to bring our food ( which was undercooked for the most part) we didn't see him again for another 45 minutes. When he finally came back to check in on us my friend asked him for a glass of water which he seemed annoyed at and when he brought it back to the table he reached across the table and just held it there in front if her face while facing another direction and said "here". So incredibly rude! To top it off when we got our check we had to wait another 20 mins for him to come back and run the card, and that's only after we flagged down another server to get him. Worst service ever. The management should seriously evaluate the staff they have working for them. The only reason I gave this even one star was because the pancakes were good. read more
