When you place an order asking to withhold an ingredient, it doesn't matter why. But this ingredient makes me sick. I ordered an omelette without cheese.....and that's what I mostly got. Came here tonight and was eating with my family when I heard your manager yelling and cursing at a lady that complained about her order taking a long time to be done. We had actually placed our order and received our food and were almost done eating it and she had been in longer than us and was still waiting for her take out order. I would have been upset too. This lady was actually nicer about it than I would have been and she never yelled or got rude. She just told him she was upset she had to wait to so long and when he started cursing at her and saying he only had one cook then she calmly told him he should probably hire more cooks then. That's when he really started cursing and yelling even louder in front of all the other customers. He told her to go back there and make it her fuc-king self. We were all pretty shocked. He was throwing out the f word every sentence and even called the lady a stupid bit-ch as she walked out. I must say that it is about time Covington got a great place to get breakfast. This IHOP was nicknamed by my friend as "I HOPE" because its signs were up in the window as coming soon then the signs were taken down and there was no construction or movement of any kind for months and months. Well its here and blazing out the pancakes as well as the other traditional IHOP fare. I ate there on the opening day and was pleasantly surprised by the wait staff 's promptness and attention. Saying to myself that this will wear off soon. (I was wrong. I have eaten there many time since then and the service has always been fast & friendly, served up with great hot tasty food.) The manager John was walking from table to table talking with the customers. Which he still does today when he gets a chance. The food came fast, was hot and fresh. I have returned many times since then and have had the same great experienced every time. I will have to say that this is the best IHOP I have ever eaten at to date. My wife and I ate breakfast here and it was the worst (not one of, but the) meal we've ever had. Between us, there was not one thing on the table that was even acceptable, let alone good. The omelette had a strange, kitchen sponge texture. The bacon was essentially jerky. The sausage was burned. The coffee tasted like it had windex in it, the ammonia-cat box smell was so strong. And if you're name is house of pancakes, how do you make bad pancakes? They were crunchy leather on one side, oddly wet on the other, leading us both to conclude they had either been reheated or held way too long. This iHop surprised me in many ways. First, the restaurant is much bigger than it appears! Second, they have decent prices for great food. I personally had a stack of their phenomenal pancakes with one of their specialty omelets, and it was very delicious. The customer service was amazing, at least when I went there after church. This is the most depressed looking Ihop ive ever eaten at, the employees looked like they were upset about something but were also lacking in efficency as well, my waiter took forever to get my drink, i was not having a good day as well so i thought this place would fix my stressful day, wrong! There should be no need to review this Ihop period. Came here for Sunday breakfast with the family. We were seated quickly and our waitress was friendly. My issue is with the food. The couple behind us let the waitress know that their cheesecake stuffed French toast was cold. So was their sausage. After overhearing this none of us ordered those items. My kids got their usual funny face pancake and it was great. My husbands side of bacon was thin and soggy. I ordered a hamburger because I wasn't craving breakfast. It was so pink. We had spent too much time there so I just ate around the edges that weren't pink and enjoyed my fries. Doubt we'll be back. A pink burger is not something I'm ok with. read more

I love this IHOP! They have all gotten to know me & my husband over the last 4 years & are very welcoming every time we go. Even when they are busy, they are on top of it. Wait staff are engaged with customers, and go above and beyond in service! Mike manages, & has brought in excellent staff. Many restaurants in the area should take a lesson in how it's done from this place. They are clean, comfortable, we'll priced, & the food is great, haven't had anything we didn't like. Great food (greasy but I love it) most of the time they have specials, between $6.49 - $8.49 for sausage, eggs, hash browns and pancakes. The only negative thing that I can think of are some of the employees, they are not too friendly, most don't even smile. The sausages are more salty than I expected, but eating with pancakes balance it out. The bacon is crispy, oh...I want more...but shouldn't. We went here for breakfast this morning (there were 5 of us). All of our meals except for my daughter's pancakes were cold. Our waitress pretty much ignored us through our entire meal, and we had to ask her when we were nearly finished to bring us some water. Our eggs looked like they were made of plastic and the cheese wasn't even melted on the top of my friend's omelette. We mentioned the cold food to the waitress, and she said that she would talk to her manager and see if she could get us a discount, but no guarantee. A few minutes later she brought the check back with NO discount. There was absolutely no way she had talked to her manager in such a short time. Sure enough, she didn't, I asked. When I went up to pay I mentioned it to the manager and he gave us 30% off of our bill, which was fine. I would have rather had better food. read more

My wife and I moved to town and have eaten at a number of IHOP restaurants in Washington with most being more on the modern side prior to eating at the somewhat older Covington IHOP. The food at this IHOP appears typical of the chain so I doubt you can go wrong there. The food we ordered was good quality. I can't believe I'm writing this, but we probably won't go back because of the lighting in the restaurant. When viewed directly, their fixtures give off a very yellow light and it is paired with the yellow tones in restaurant motif. My wife and I were both generally agitated by it and felt like we were squinting when gazing around the restaurant. The lobby has a bluish tone light and blue walls. The whole lighting scheme feels like a lab experiment and most of the restaurant doesn't receive outside light. Check out the photo posted by another reviewer (@DannyT), where you see the yellow light, that is exactly what you get in the entire restaurant. We love IHOP, we just don't think we can sit in that light again and I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it in other reviews. read more

Good price and great for families for a nice brunch. I always love pancakes and recommend chocolate chip or red velvet. You can't go wrong with the omlettes. It's an IHOP, so you should already know what to expect and know this isn't the same 5 star review I'd give to a steakhouse. That being said, this is the best IHOP I've ever been to. I only ever get the chicken florentine crepes, but this was cooked perfectly. Well seasoned, decent amount of hollandaise, good quality chicken cuts, nothing gristly. Very disappointed in our service today! We called ahead, had a large group. They had the tables set up. We split up into 2 tables. One table and one person from our table received their meal at least 30 minutes before the rest of us. We were told the ticket was not received in the computer, however how did one person from our table receive their food when he was on the same ticket? The manager, Manny never came out to address the situation. Isn't this his responsibility? Asst. Mgr., Mike, was good and addressed the problem and comp'd our meal.
