Such a disappointing experience. I recently visited the IHOP on Abruzzi Dr. and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While our waiter was attentive and informative, which I appreciated, the overall service fell short. After enjoying our meal, we found ourselves waiting an unreasonable amount of time for the check, to the point where we had to ask for it ourselves. As for the food, it was quite disappointing. I ordered my eggs over easy, but they arrived so undercooked that they had the consistency of snot--definitely not what I was expecting. The grits were similarly underwhelming; they were gritty and poorly prepared. To top it all off, my order came with bacon that I didn't even ask for. It's clear to me why more IHOP locations are closing. Based on this experience, I can't give this establishment more than 1 star and I won't be returning anytime soon. read more

The French toast was very good. The service was terrible. We waited 20 minutes to get waited on and while putting in my order the waiter said, "Excuse me but I have to take care of 94." I thought he was coming back. He didn't come back. I guess a manager saw us waiting and took our order. Our order arrived 30 minutes later. My husband's over easy eggs came scrambled. I told the server that he ordered his eggs over easy. She took the plate back and returned 5 minutes later with the same plate. I told her again that he did not order scrambled eggs. 10 minutes later the server returned with the same plate with the now cold bacon, cold hash browns and eggs with more runny whites than yolks. 10 minutes later another server returned with a second order. For starters, I wasn't expecting to write a review. I've visited this place once before and it really didn't WOW me. But today? Whew the 11am staff was AMAZING! Kayla our server kept us smiling while also giving us recommendations even on the basic drinks on how it sweet some drinks were compared to others. She not only checked in on us about food but also asked us how we were and made a solid conversation with us throughout our dining. This is what I call Gold Star Service. Hell she was just as fast bringing our food as fast as the cook made it. Everything was FRESH, no not frozen, not cold, not room temp. Cooked to perfection with the freshest food. My girl even stole the eggs and mushrooms off my plate out of jealousy. The fruit? ‍ Idk what they changed but keep it going! I couldn't ask for a better IHOP experience. Horrible service. took 30 minutes to take drink order and the guy taking our order doesn't know what they have and don't have. didn't get asked if we need refills once. Stopped a girl to get our check and she rolled her eyes and was passive aggressive checking out. This place has really good pancakes and they're served nice and hot. They do not, however, have real maple syrup. They have maple, flavored corn syrup for some garbage and that's pretty bad. They do not know how to poach an egg I would suggest that you don't even order one. Overall for the money it's not really a bad place. read more

I wasn't able to stay......you never get a 2nd chance to make a first impression I couldn't put my finger on it but something about this ihop was off from the moment we walked in. As I looked around, I decided to leave. There were flies everywhere inside the restaurant. We were seated promptly and the waitress was pleasant. As we waited and looked over the menu, I looked around - majority of the tables were filled with food and dishes. I did not smell the aroma off pancakes (or any food for that matter). It was dimly lit and my nephew (on the way to the restroom) noticed it was one cook. One cook and one waitress - no other staff. We ordered and 10 minutes later, still no drinks. I took it all in and decided to leave. As we were leaving - I noticed the back door propped open. WHY?? No wonder there were so many flies! I don't know how the food tastes or looks, but I am not interested in finding out based on the first impression. read more

I ordered online, went inside to pick up my order waited 20 min for anyone to even come up to me at the host stand and then they didn't have my order. A guy came up to me and said "i just dropped it you'll have to give it time to cook" and I was like "do u know my order" and he said "no". I put in my order, he doesn't write it down, wait an extra 20 min for the food. And then they didn't even give me what I ordered, I was missing so many items, and got random items. Horrible service host was beyond rude. We had just walked in waiting to be sat and before I could get a word out the hostess said "it'll be a min" but didn't even look at us and said it with the worst attitude. Totally fine if you're stressed at work but no need to be rude. She then comes back again and tells us "she'll seat u soon when the table is cleaned off". She says this again with an attitude but also as she was walking away and not even facing us. After that we just left. Overall just learn to be nicer to customers there is no problem with having to wait for a table but attitude is not okay. read more

When we first got there the lady at the counter ignored us, didn't say good morning or we'll be with you in a moment. Nothing. Stood there for about 5 minutes when a lady with an attitude shows up, pulls two menus, walks away goes to a table and looks at us like why didn't we follow her. How are we supposed to know that's for us if you don't say anything. She also did it to another group and yelled at them for not following her. The assistant manager was just standing there instead of coming over to at least greet people and sit them down. Service is super slow. From the time they sat us to the time they brought me my food was 35 min. They were not busy. I ordered a tomato soup and they gave me a quarter cup with a big piece of cheese crisp. They didn't bring my boyfriends food out til 8 min later which by then I was obviously done with my food. He ordered eggs Benedict which as you know is a poached egg. Poached eggs are runny. Why did his eggs come out hard boiled? And his pancakes never came out. Then we go to pay and the lady with an attitude says we don't have a cash register you have to cash out with your server. How do you not have a cash register? How does that make sense? Go somewhere else for breakfast. This is our last time here. There's always something wrong with this place. read more

Planned on going to Cracker Barrel because of all the bad reviews here and low rating but it was packed so our table of 10 ended up here at IHOP. I don't have one complaint. They let us reserve a table over the phone. It was ready when we got there and they sat us right away. Waitress name Ashley was amazing. Came right over. Worked to get our order in in front of a bigger table that came in right behind us. She did a great job with service the whole time. Food came out hot and everyone's was together. Went in IHOP in Chester Md on Saturday June 29. Nice little amount of people eating. Was greeted by young ladies one name was Shana and I believe Diamond. Very nice ladies. Respectful they seated me and my husband. Our server was man named Matt I believe. He was very figgity. He was very "amped" up honestly I didn't want him waiting on us but we let him. Sitting there a young lady named LakeyA came and asked was we served yet and we struck up conversation she was very pleasant. Sitting there we watched the the servers there was a Spanish lady I briefly saw her name as I passed her going to ladies room. She looked like she wasn't trying to help anyone . She looked like she was picking what tables to take while everyone else was busy doing table. Tyrie I think her name was . I told my husband that isn't fair to the others she wasn't doing her part . Food was delicious and leaving we struck up conversation with Shayna and diamond again come find out they were mom and daughter. Thanks to you ladies for the great service. Breakfast on Sunday is better at Chikfila,... and yes, I know they aren't even open!!! Service was terrible. We were seated promptly, and received coffee within 10 mins. The juices in another 5 mins. Then it took over another 10 for our order to be taken. Finally, our food arrived - 45 MINUTES LATER! You could tell it had just been sitting on the heating rack in the back. We both got eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and sides of pancakes. The hashbrowns were still in the shape of a sponge and dry and tasteless. The eggs were dry, the bacon over cooked and the pancakes were so gross, I barely ate a 1/6th of one. It was crunchy and dry on the outside from the warming rack, and just tasted disgusting. Restaurant was clean. That's the only nice thing I can say about this place. Breakfast for two, with a couple of soft drinks and an extra side of hash browns was 35 bucks. (Not including tip). Food was cold and very bland. We couldn't substitute eggs for a hash brown or an extra pancake. When you can't accommodate such a simple request, your tip should really be: "Dont' eat yellow snow" or don't believe the guy when he says: "Just the tip, baby". This place will probably survive, due to name recognition and people passing by that may be sick of "Caca Barrel" (Cracker Barrel). Aftwr these first two orders were served, 10 or more minutes passed, our server was MIA, and finally someone came by and asked us about our table. Alot of confused looks, and it seemed that most of the wait staff then disappeared. After 5 more minutes, a manager finally came over and asked us what we ordered. She apologized for the delay, and 5 minutes later, we had our orders. The late meals were comp'ed, which raised my rating from 1 star to 3. Decided to give this place a try at 7pm on a Friday. Things went down hill rather quickly after we were seated. The waiter was having a constant coughing fit and had to step away to finish. This was my second time visiting this restaurant and this time I did not care to ever come back. I asked my sever for shelled eggs scrambled with cheese. However when she brought my plate..... it was powdered eggs with a slice of cheese slapped on top! The cheese was not even melted! Then when I asked her about it she like "oh I didn't hear you"! You heard cheese but not shelled eggs. Nevertheless, she's telling me oh I can take it back it's going to take two mins to make! No ma'am I don't want half of my food cold the rest hot! My pancakes came out with my order but they were COLD!!! How is this possible??? We also had to wait an extra 5 mins on top of waiting about 20 mins for my our wrong order for a Belgian waffle for my daughter. My mother ordered a BLT... her bread was not toasted at all. Traveling to Ocean city Maryland for a beach vacation and we stopped at this shithole. Dirty, slow service, and they didn't have one vegetarian option. I had to put together a make shift onion ring burger with no cheese, no beef patty, and no bacon and add veggies. Arrived at this IHOP at 6:23 a.m. and doors were locked, the woman inside saw us park and walk towards the doors but decided to go hide. So then I called and asked what time they open because the sign says at 6:00am and doors are locked, she responded "we are having difficulties with the grill" and I said "ok so what time will you be open?" she said "the guy for the grill isn't here yet" I responded and said "that's absurd" and hung up. Coming from a customer service background and having worked in a restaurant myself this was unacceptable. This woman chose to hide even though she saw us park right at the front door and only came back out once I called the restaurant. I would've apologized and offered my customers to at least have the option of waiting, besides I could have wanted any other food that didn't require the grill or just some coffee and hot chocolate.
