Recently, I have been to the IHOP Cedar Hill location 3x. I love breakfast at night upon occasion. The food here is mediocre; however, this is not the reason that I chose to write this review. The service is subpar and many of the servers need remedial training. They spend a lot of time playing at the food slider, they are often loud & obnoxious, and they do not know how to handle customer concerns appropriately. 2 out of 3 visits, we have received dirty silverware and had to request plastic ware instead. We did not receive any apology from the staff. As a result of my experiences here, I will either go to a different IHOP location or go to one of my favorite breakfast restaurants called "Another Broken Egg". read more

Don't waste your time. Just go to McDonalds next door. Trust me. This is the first time I've ever spent an hour+ in IHOP. The worst part? I ordered a quesadilla. That's right, a QUESADILLA. At least 2 tables that I noticed came in after us and finished their food before I EVER got mine. Literally cheese inside of a tortilla in case you forgot. You know it's bad when people at the table next to you says "you JUST now got your food?" when it finally comes. All you can hear is everyone who is supposed to be working playing around and hanging out next to the kitchen. Not to mention that 3 of the male servers were spending their whole night flirting with a table of girls. Since Yelp won't let me put 0 stars, I guess the 1 star is for our waitress who did pretty good despite the horrible experience I just had. Please, just go to McDonalds. read more

The food was okay, it was just IHOP food. Came here for a late study/work session with my girlfriend. However our server, was awesome. He was very attentive, really funny, and provided great service. It's been a while since I checked in so I don't remember his name at this moment, but I know that he was great and he made our visit that much greater. read more

Service is always good here. I usually order safe menu items like French toast or pancakes. Can't really mess that up.

Table was dirty, but that seems to be the norm here. Not all the food came out together. They did not use the egg substitute like requested. The staff had a good argument between them. That was the best part of the meal. Refills, do they still exist? read more

My girlfriend and I were disappointed with the service here. Food wasn't made like we asked and also my girlfriend got handed a cup of water with a fly in it. Great place to hang out at night when the crowds are safely tucked into bed. Their milkshakes are wonderful! They have a lot of flavors but the vanilla cannot be beat. When I fist heard of waffles and chicken strips I thought it was a weird combination but I tried it and ended up ordering another plate the same night! The waitress was a real sweetheart. read more

Not what it used to be! Very few people in the restaurant. Extremely slow service. Had to ask for silverware and lemons several times. Returned the bowl of grits my husband ordered - it looked like wallpaper paste. My eggs were dripping with grease. Asked twice for the bill. Took 15 minutes to take the grits off the bill. I have given enough chances to the inept manager at this location. Everytime we get an order it is messed up and today is no different. Forgot half of order, foil covering order because they are out of lids at 9 am, no receipt in bag.....and to top it off i have been calling the restaurant for about 30 min and the phone line is busy and continues to be busy. The problem with this restaurant is the workers. Hate to make this about race but I personally feel extreme prejudice from the Hispanic staff members when I eat at this specific IHOP restaurant. They act very inattentive and seem as if they purposely ignore you if you are not Hispanic. I sure hate to feel this way but I have ate here multiple times and it never fails. Other than that all the workers as a whole get a D- grade point average if I were an observer. I sure wish they would get better staff training and some type of professionalism about themselves. Sure does give IHOP a bad name. I am literally waiting to be served here writing this. They have no shame. I've been here for at least 45 min and just now received my drinks for my family. Been coming here forever, never have I needed to walk out of a restaurant. I experienced the worst service! I understand it is New Years Day and they only had 2 cooks and they were backed up. But over an hour wait for 2 omelettes and a kids pancake just to see the table of 6 that was just seated get there food in less than 30min! Decided to drive down the street to Chili's where we ordered a steak, a burger, and a kids burger to have that served to us in less than 20 min and with roughly the same amount of guests. Assume "manager" was yelling at the cook and the servers, was sat at a dirty table and had to search for a clean table at 430am with only three others seated. Plates being slammed during manager conflict. Let's talk food! All I can say is YUK!! Bacon not cooked eggs cooked to hard-not what I asked for, hash browns not cooked except the gross top! Don't go here! Oh and I asked three servers standing grouped together to speak with the manager to let her know the experience they replied and laughed they don't know where she is and laughed again. I have been wanting Ihop for a while now but haven't had the time. I decided to go today and when I got there they were only sitting people on one side. Before even noticing the 4 parties waiting to be seated they walked by multiple times seemingly ignoring us. After about 5 minutes waiting I was seated. TERRIBLE SERVICE. Two waiters AND the manager couldn't understand my wife's order and she was POINTING TO THE PICTURE ON THE MENU!!! The waiters and waitress are very young and are constantly playing around and not waiting their tables. Their was a single mother here with three of her kids waiting a good 30 minutes. As you can tell by my lack of YELP history, I am not big on reviews. But when service is THAT BAD, I can't help but warn the masses. This morning, I went to visit my Mom at a nearby hospital. I wanted to pick up some breakfast for my Dad, who has basically been living at the hospital for 6 weeks taking care of my Mom. Driving in from McKinney, TX...I called this IHOP to put in an order to-go as soon as I passed downtown Dallas on I-35. The man that answered the phone asked me to please hold. We literally drove 20 minutes, made it to the restaurant, waited in line, got seated, and ordered our food while still on hold. We let the waitress know, showing her we were still on hold while we ordered our food with her. All she did was make a gesture motioning to the host at the front, while making a face like she wasn't surprised. No apology was given. Order came out incorrectly as well. WOW! read more

three words: do.not.go!! My pancakes were like cutting cement, my sunny side up eggs came out just raw, and it took 20 minutes for us to be seated on an empty night. Waiters were just standing around talking as if everyone were invisible and like another review said, the pancakes are tiny. Not sure if they really deserve two stars. Went there around midnight about a week ago and was super hyped about eating pancakes. I ordered the Spilt Decision and I was super disappointed. The pancakes where SMALL and thin, and the rest was okay. Our waitress tried to sell us free refills on iced coffee, but said that she would just give it to us. Are you kidding ?!?! My family and friends always went there, so we knew the menu well. Point being: pancakes get smaller and smaller and the service depends on the area you are sat in.
