I only came here because I had a buy 1 get 1 free meal coupon,came go wrong with that right? I order 2 steak quesadilla meals. The cheese wasn't even melted before they took it off the stove and folded it up. Once I sat down to eat I immediately noticed the cheese not melted, the rice was such a small portion it looked like someone already eat half my rice, and that the aluminum foil was laid ontop of my beans. When I picked the quesadilla up, nearly 1/3 of the beans were stuck to the aluminum foil... am I supposed to lick the foil clean!? Now I bite into the quesadilla and immediately something isn't right. The steak tastes sour. My daughter is eating her rice, so I ask her to try her quesadilla.. she takes a bit and spits it out after chewing for a few seconds. She says I dont like it. I immediately know why. I went ahead and placed an order for the chicken enchiladas with rice and beans topped with Pico and lettuce. The employee prepared my order in a friendly but fast efficient way, and in no time was it out of the oven and on my table, ready to be eaten. The food tasted great, and the chicken was well-seasoned, which was rolled tight in 2 flour tortillas that had an even spread of red sauce and topped with cheese that was melted throughly. we have been getting drive-through "Taco Tuesday" lunch here regularly since Covid! The salads are very generous that we tend to order, with the cilantro vinaigrette. They're very filling with rice and beans and a tortilla in the bottom of the salad, with your choice of protein. I usually skip the rice and the tortilla and it's still a very filling salad. I am leaving Costa Vida and we ordered 2 quesadillas with 2 cinnamon snacks and a drink. We felt like our order was incorrect and drove back through the drive through to rectify the issue. We pulled up to the window and honked the horn. The young lady that served our food continued to sweep. I got out the car to knocked on the window. Trying to inform her that we just came through and we do not believe our order is correct. She continued to clean infront of the window and completely ignored us. That kind of customer service is awful. We simply wanted to the correct the order we had and she would not open the window. I don't know if she is the night time manager but that is unacceptable! We stopped in here for grand opening at lunch today and to no surprise there were already quite a few people there. We got there right about 11 and there were 83 people in front of us. We know this because they handed out tags for the first 100 people visiting that give them free soft drinks for a year. Fun. It took about an hour to get through the line. Again no surprise since they were handing our prizes and other incentives to get lots of people showing up for grand opening. If you have never been to Costa Vida, it's a similar format to chipotle or any of those other chains except they actually have options. You basically pick your format tacos, nachos, enchiladas, bowl, salad, burrito, etc. Then you combine that with the protein you want including grilled chicken, sweet pork, steak, raspberry chicken, and shrimp. They're reality excited about their shrimp, but I don't eat shrimp in Mansfield. I went with the salad. While the salad was good, if you are trying to avoid excess calories, sugar, and carbs, you need to be careful. I had a chat with a manager and asked him what had sugar in it: the sweet pork, and raspberry chicken absolutely do. I think the green sauce has sugar in it as well. Now with the salad, if you get it as it comes, I can almost assure you it will have more carbs, fat, etc than the burrito would. That's because it comes served upon a burrito sized tortilla. Then they add beans and rice to it. I'm not sure why would want that on a salad to begin with. Then after you get everything on it, they serve it with fried tortilla strips. I passed on the beans and rice and I recommend skipping the tortilla as well. I didn't even try it as it seemed to be a bit hard. That could just be a first day issue. As far as the protein goes, I got the steak and I thought the flavor was good. They gave me a fair amount of it as well. Not sure if that's a normal, or I just didn't get a manager serving it up. The ranch is pretty tasty. I did hear it has MSG in it so be aware of that if you have issues with that. Everything else they do is pretty fresh. In general, I would say their portion sizes are quite large. Many of the entrees have an option of a "small" option. I would definitely do that for the bowl and salad if not some of the other entrees. The default size is way too large. However, if you are looking for an enchilada or taco, you probably want the regular size since they only come with one on the small size. They have some beer options and possibly wine. Apparently they have frozen margaritas but I doubt they are true margaritas with tequila. I'll need to verify that. Be sure and download the app so that you can collect rewards and get discounts on future purchases. I'd definitely go back as there are some options but just be careful if you are looking for healthy options. They have daily specials that come with a drink at $7.99 so that's not a bad deal. read more

The queso was not good it has a different flavor, the refried beans are also not good at all they lacked flavor and also spicy you can taste the heat but no seasoning. It's also pricey for what we got. The nachos were good because they add real cheese but stay away from the queso I don't know what's in that. The green chili sauce was not good it was sweet. It's for a different palate for sure. Kinda Caribbean definitely costal eating very different than what I'm used to as far as Mexican food. It's definitely the idea of Mexican but not. I'm a total fan of the steak salad but today when I popped in I had the chicken salad with the tomatillo dressing. I love the special dressings they have it's all very good! We have eaten here twice already in a week and there are not enough good things I can say about Costa Vida. It is delicious and the service is great. Our first visit, we called in and ordered take out. It was all ready on time when we arrived. The raspberry chicken bowl and sweet pork quesadillas were awesome. The flavor was vibrant and tasty. I really like the rice here. It doesn't taste like traditional Mexican rice and it's yellow in color but it is delicious. The refried beans are also a little different. They are runny but tasted okay. Second visit, we dined in. We ordered the raspberry chicken quesadillas and the sweet pork nachos. The raspberry chicken quesadillas were divine. I like the sweet pork nachos because they put a good amount of meat on the nachos, which many places don't. They also add guacamole and queso at no charge. This time, the refried beans were much spicer. So spicy, I didn't eat it. We also order the key lime pie for dessert. This was a total letdown. It originally comes in a small pie pan (maybe 4 inches) but they flip it over and add whip cream. With the crust on top, the texture of the pie was so soggy underneath, it started spreading out in the pan. The taste at first bite was okay but it left a very sour, bitter after taste. Something else we couldn't finish. I did enjoy how there was an employee coming around asking if there was anything she could remove from the table. They keep it very clean here. There is also a drive thru, so many different ways to get food. I think the biggest challenge when ordering here is deciding on what to get. There are bowls, burritos, enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas and salads. Combined with different protein options, toppings and salsas, there are many varieties. And the best part is the pricing. My honest opinion after eating here for the first time in my life - the raspberry chicken salad with black beans was good. I wasn't expecting it to taste as much like as a Chipotle bowl as it did, but it was definitely good with the rice and beans, lettuce, pico and chicken. The key lime pie was more like super, super sugary key lime pudding. Easier to eat with a spoon than a fork. That being said, it was good - just a little too sweet for my taste. The place looked nice and new. The menu looked pretty good and has a chipotle-esque set up. Well I decided to get their bowl... you know, rice, meat, etc. Well get up to order and they tell me they only have beef and sweet pork. I don't eat beef so that was out. But I've never heard of "sweet pork"... is it like sweet/sour pork? nope! Young lady behind the glass said I could try it. Y'all! It was DISGUSTING!!! Flavorless shredded pork in something that tasted like syrup but watery like meet juice. What in the world?! How is that even on the menu?! I was in disbelief. They literally had no other options for meat, the work areas were so filthy and messy, the people working behind the glass were arguing with each other. I was so turned off. I ended up settling with the rice, beans and guacamole. Why did they try to charge me for the entire bowl?! Almost $10! No way. The cashier gave us such an attitude, did not give us straws or anything so I just reached around the counter to get them. This place is horrible. 12/29/2020 UPDATE: I just have to preface this with saying I am just very disappointed in this store. I'm not sure what happened in the past couple months but it's gone down hill (maybe change in management?) My most recent experience really made me upset. I ordered online and I like tomatillo sauce on the inside of the burrito but smothered in queso. Well the app doesn't let me select both so under special instructions I write: "Smother in queso please". I get to the store and they hand me my order. I check it in the car and they didn't smother it in queso. I then check to make sure I wrote it and sure enough it's there on the receipt. So I go in and explain that they didn't smother in queso.... this is what makes me mad, the lady says "oh I know, but you didn't pay the 99cent charge so that's why I didn't smother it". So folks- she acknowledged that she saw it and still didn't make it that way!!! Um really? The last I'm checked if a customer wants something smothered you make it that way regardless if if they ordered wrong or not. My husband works in customer service managing a pizza store and even he admitted on his online orders he still makes it the way the customer wants. So then I tell them I still want it remade and I'll pay the 99cents. So she remakes it and then when she rings me up she says it's 2.17. I said um no? You told me it was 99 cents so it should be 1.07 with tax. She then fixed it and charged the 1.07. The reason I even come on here to post is in the past this location treated us flawlessly, if something like that would have happened before there would have been no charge at all, they would have made it right the first time. In my opinion wouldn't you rather loose 99 cents and make it right and retain a customer rather than acknowledge you made it wrong and charge them 99 cents and loose a customer?? Oh and not to mention the time before this my chicken for my salad was hard as a rock... I literally could bang it on the table and it didn't break. I then requested a new salad and they were going to put the SAME chicken on there and I had to request new chicken be cooked... they did it and thank goodness there was no charge for that! At the drive-thru, I ordered chicken tacos and they were lukewarm...not hot at all!! There was no cheese on the taco...just lukewarm chicken and large pieces of lettuce. And the lettuce wasn't shredded or cut...it looked like lettuce for a salad and not tacos. I also order black beans and the container was half full. It was an absolute pleasure to be served by Gaby she was so sweet and caring and very helpful first time in for me and I was a bit confused on the process she made me feel comfortable and again super helpful.
