My husband was able to find it next door, so we were all good. They also had delicious fluffy gluten free pancakes for my husband, who got a pancake combo. Never have I thought I would write a review on an IHOP but this location is worth writing about. The grilled chicken salad was very good. The chicken was very moist and the veggies looked and tasted fresh. The chicken fried steak was also very tasty. The pancake that came with the meal was fluffy. This IHOP is a hidden gem! My family and I have stopped to eat here several times and it doesn't disappoint. It has become our traditional place to eat lunch when going/coming from L.A.. We usually don't eat at IHOP, but my husband and I found this place by chance while stopping to use the restroom. We were getting hungry and decided to eat here. Was a iHop customer when I drove along I-5 every month. Yesterday I had the worst service. The front desk refused to honor the special discount (fruity tooty) shown at their yelps, yet being rude when I tried to cancel the order she tried to overcharged me. What a shame. read more

Waiter Jesus 10/12/2018 Great location just off I5. IHOP does burgers and they do them well! Being lactose intolerant, I requested extra bacon on my Cowboy burger to replace the cheese. Jesus was very accommodating. It was cooked medium (kind of surprised they did not ask my preference of medium rare but that might be a corporate thing). Regardless, it was very good. Onion rings on the burger were crunchy and not overdone. My travel companion had the Mexican Tres Leche pancakes. Having a bite, they were soft and sweet. Perfect amount of house syrup. Stop and recharge at the Tesla supercharging station. IHOP is worth walking into. Ask for Jesus! read more

Bacon bits were like the ones you get from a package, no not the ones for salad but still I could tell it wasn't fresh cooked bacon. Waaaay out on the far edge of Bakersfield is an IHOP that has the misfortune of sharing its building space with a Shell gas station. Don't get me wrong here. What was off-putting during the meal was the steady stream of gas-buyers that strolled into the IHOP side of the building. It's attached to a gas station so it feels kinda divey especially since the restrooms are located in between the store and restaurant. This IHOP is decidedly fine. It is certainly acceptable if you want something to eat that is not fast food. The restaurant is clean, the servers are friendly, and they got my order right even though I asked for two changes. On the other hand, most of the food here is standard Americana and full of calories. It's been a while since my last time at an IHOP, but I think the prices are a bit high too. However, this thing is right off the I-5, next to a gas station and convenience store. If you are paying it bit more chalk it up to the monopoly or convenience tax. read more

Im not sure what some of the other reviews are smoking, lets be clear on the base issues, IHOP is NOT a gourmet restaurant, it is kind of a diner type place, and should be compared to diners in general as such this place did great, the food was fresh and prepared to expectations, actually prepared better than I had hoped. The service was prompt and friendly, and very professional, I am completely pleased.. only reason I stop at 4 stars is the bathroom which is shared with the gas station... nuf said. Bottom line, if you are on your way on the interstate and like crepes and good burgers, you owe it to yourself to take a break here.
