On our way, driving to Monterey Bay and Carmel-by-the-Sea. Had to stop here for some rest and food. Of all the IHOPs that I have been to, this was the best!!!! best in service. Best in food. Best in ambience. Best in just everything.

Food was great, did not take long, great service provided by our server named Nadin! Awesome service definitely felt very welcomed and well served we appreciate it!

    T bone steak

I ordered a T-bone steak and it was not cooked right the first time -- it came out way undercooked. I sent it back, hoping they'd fix it, but when it came back it was still wrong. We politely let the manager know, but instead of apologizing or trying to make it right, he was rude and dismissive. Really disappointing experience. For the price, I expected much better food and service. I won't be coming back.

They serve Pepsi products, which I am not a fan of. Restaurant seating area empty except for me and my husband. I ordered something that comes with a side salad. No blue cheese dressing, so I chose honey mustard. Pretty good, I say. The waitress was awesome and very informative. The eating area was very clean and pretty quiet. Prices are getting to where low income people have to play night outs after pay day.

We don't normally stop at chain restaurants.... But we had the best food and service by Jesus! It's located in the EZ Trip fuel stop. Such a gem as you're heading up the 5! Great food, quick and super friendly service. We'll make it a regular stop for sure!

Stop! Recharge your Tesla or pay at the pump, IHOP situated smack dab. Having not set foot in an IHOP in a decade or so, reluctantly and slowly walked over to use their restroom. The hostess and workers smiled and graciously showed the way. Seeing how clean the place was and only choice was EZ trip mini mart or JIB decided to grab coffee and a bite here. Place super clear all around Joe our server was excellent! And food was good that they should charge more! Nice to know there's this stop on I 5, high five!

Okay. Let me start by saying this IHOP has the cleanest bathroom on I-5. Nice, friendly staff. They're open 24/7 and sometimes you don't know what you're going to get with at. But it was clean and the food was great. IHOP is really consistent, so you know what you're going to get in terms of food. The food was good, hot, and came out fast. Super affordable and reasonable prices. Will keep this location in mind for future road trips.

Jesus, our waiter was fantastic! He was fast, friendly and efficient- I made sure to tell him that :). Food was good, too- I thought my strawberry waffles would be too sweet but it wasn't so 5 stars alone based on that. But wait, there's more! Our bacon, eggs and potatoes were delicious as well and there's nothing to complain about the food we ordered and not all Ihops are like this. I was surprised at how much we like our food and the place is clean as well! Thumbs up, Ihop!

Stopped in on our way to Arizona and was surprisingly impressed. It's was close to 8 am when we arrived and the place was empty. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean and modern. We were helped by Nadeem who was the sweetest most attentive waiter. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Will definitely be stopping here in the future. Thank you so much Nadeem for the great dining experience.

    I can't believe this place doesn't suck!

Yes, we were basically on dirt roads that saw a few scattered homes here and there, and visible old school phone towers (the brown kind) connected with wires (where crows sit on a row) existed, and not much else. We drove around in some circles, looking for this fabled store and found nothing, not even a Bigfoot. We noted how the moment felt like we were on an Iowa highway because we saw expansive fields and experienced a Middle-America atmosphere. I wanted a small stalk of wheat in between my teeth. As we drove, we saw this place and decided that this joint would replace the store we were looking for. At this point I started to listen to Carry on My Wayward Son by Kansas. If you know, you know. As soon as I entered I felt like I had stepped into a diner in the middle of nowhere, the type of spot where brothers talked about saving people, hunting things, you know the family business. My friend Denise did not know what I was talking about and when I tried to introduce the world to her with corny prompts she decided not to play along. Still for a fan the experience was nothing but a win!(chester). I cannot remember the person who helped us but she was a server who reported that she had lived in the surrounding area for most of her life. She was deepening the believe that we were on a route diner neglected by city reality. During this visit, I had fried okra for the first time in my life. It was weird to taste but not in a bad way. More like I had never tasted this texture before in my life. The texture that I had not tried before in my life was a gooey vegetable. Like the texture of the outside was exactly as advertised--- fried goodness. The actual okra was the gooey part. I do not want to sound crass, truly, I do not, but it did feel like enjoying something slimy, and I will leave it at that. Again, not wrong, just weird But I will not get it again. The server- the homegrown one- gave us fried pickles and these were much more to taste. Like, I i have had fried pickles before and I loved them but I had some that were not for me. But these, these, were pickle spears fried to brown goodness, and the mixture hit green- which does not mean go, more like Hulk enjoys, instead of smashes. It was a simple dish yes- green spear pickle fried but sometimes the goodness of a county fair is exactly what a roadtrip snack should be. The fair came to my table and I am not mad at that. On this trip I did have the Willow Dip which I feel is a close cousin to a french dip. What this place did well, at least I think, is putting it on an onion baguette. I am not sure if onion baguette is a middle-of-nowhere bread, but, I allowed it because the taste of the bread was, like tailored made for me, I am a sucker for onion, and not just because it gives me sexy breath. The food was standard, solid fare. Everything was just good nothing wrong with it, all good with it. The sauces were tasty, and added smoky sweet flavor that was welcomed. So this elevated the dish by addding a hickory taste. It did not save the dishes, but did make them better. The decorations were texas heavy. I should have taken more pictures. But sometimes the imagination allows for a space to feel more than at it is.

When we walked in we were greeted right away and told to sit wherever we wanted. It was pretty empty but got busier as lunch went on. About 8 minutes after we sat down, Karina (our waitress) came over. She was very friendly and brought us some rosemary lemon waters and a complimentary appetizer of butter-toasted sourdough with an onion garlic spread. I enjoyed it a lot and it was definitely a nice little touch. For the first 10 minutes though we were wondering where the menus were until we realized you have to scan the QR code on the little card that sits on the table to look at the menu! Ha, It would've been nice to have that mentioned when we sat down, but once we figured it out, it was easy. The place is pretty chill. Good verity of music playing. Atmosphere felt lively, lots of chatter as background noise, large windows that let in a lot of natural sun light so it feels open and inviting. They also brought out a free sample of their strawberry fresca, which was super fresh and refreshing. Not too sour nor sweet. We both ordered the Western burger with onion rings and sweet potato fries. Also had to get me one of those fresca's and my hubby got a coke. 25 minutes later our food arrived, and man did it look phenomenal! The burgers are stacked high, patties were thick, juicy and cheesy. The buns all glistening, and it was super saucy, just beautiful and well presented. Lol. Fries and onion rings come in cute little baskets and pots too. The beef tasted so clean and buttery! Completely melt-in-your-mouth awesomeness. Very gourmet and high quality. The bacon was perfectly cooked with very little fat and had such a rich, clean flavor and was just really done well. Quality top notch for sure. The onion rings were unlike any I've had before. They weren't super crispy, more soft and tender, but the flavor was so good it didn't even matter. They were huge and the batter was savory and seasoned well. The texture kind of reminded me of a funnel cake, soft with a little crisp.. very different from your typical onion ring. Their chipotle aioli ranch paired perfectly with them too. (My left over onion rings reheated to crispy perfection in the air fryer the next day!) The sweet potato fries were also really good and had sauce drizzled over the top. My husband mentioned it would've been nice to have some extra sauce on the side for dipping, though. Paid about 68 in total with tip. Not bad. Overall, we really enjoyed everything and are looking forward to coming back.

We waited about 20 mins as it was quite full inside and we arrived during a Saturday morning (on Valentine's Day). All sorts of guests visit, families, couples, seniors etc. I overheard the regulars say there's excellent mimosas here, I didn't try them but they looked good. Each patron had something positive to say and had a fun little story about their visit to Scrambled. As for my meal, my Mom and I both got cafe de olla which is essentially a Mexican blend of coffee with a hint of cinnamon. Fantastic! Next, I knew this place was known for its Mexican breakfast AND scrambles, so I decided to try the best of both worlds. I ordered a chile verde scramble. The flavor was really good, everything felt homemade. The meat could've been slightly more juicy, but everything worked so well I didn't mind it. The ambiance was moderately noisy, yet relaxed. I got an authentic cafe vibe here as my Mom and I were able to hold a conversation without having to raise our voices. My Mom said she got an authentic Mexican cafe vibe, I can see it! Everyone was super sweet and professional, I felt right at home.

The server was polite and seated me quickly since it wasn't very busy. I ordered an omelet, assuming it would be one of the quickest and simplest items to prepare. Instead, it took 40 minutes to arrive. Honestly, if I were at home, I could go to the grocery store, buy the ingredients, prep, cook the omelet, and clean up in that same amount of time. It was surprising--and frustrating--that it took so long, especially after I had to follow up to get my food. The omelet itself was very basic. They chopped and mixed avocado directly into it as a topping, which was unusual since most places serve it on the side. It was also extremely bland--no salt or pepper at all. The vegetables inside were lightly seasoned and had an okay texture, but nothing memorable. The hash browns were the worst I've ever had: slightly raw, oily, and soft. That's especially disappointing considering I cook frozen hash browns at home and they've never turned out this bad. The toast was fine and adequately buttered. I genuinely feel bad for the locals who eat here and, by doing so, encourage the business to keep serving subpar food to new customers. I won't be dining at any Black Bear Diner again--I'd rather get Panda Express or go to the Denny's across the street.
