First off, this review is for the NEWPORT LOCATION (which is not listed ,so I had to pick this location.....sorry). Walking in we thought it would be nice, if we had known I was going to get cold food TWICE, we would not have gone to this NEWPORT location.......I got the sausage biscuit combo, that ok minus the "Luke warm/cold" bacon AND sausage that came with it.......TOLD THE WAITRESS about my problem, and she brought out more of the same(it was MAYBE a touch warmer).....the wife got the crepes, which she says tasted like wet dog......best part is, they still charged full price, no comp for garbage food.....NEVER WILL WE STEP FOOT IN THERE AGAIN!!! read more

Veteran's Day! So many people. The wait time was 30 minutes, but we only had to wait about 10 minutes. Extremely pleasant staff. Our waitress was very polite and friendly. Food came out very quickly. Coffee was very hot. The restaurant was very clean for such a busy time. The cinnamon bun crepes were delicious. Just very sweet. They need a new cook. Three times I have came here hoping it would be better and this is the last time. The scrambled eggs were so rubbery and burnt. They couldn't be ate. The toast was burnt. They got rid of their gluten friendly pancakes which is horrid considering myself as well as everyone I know who can't tolerate a lot of gluten go there we never get to feel normal going out to eat and are limited at every single place we go they wouldn't get rid of a peanut free option so why get rid of the gluten friendly one it's gross behavior and I hope their competitors see that as a way to add a gluten friendly option and put them out of business read more

Went on a Sunday and the place was packed with a few waiting for tables. The wait was about 5 minutes. We got seated and our coffee and our order was quickly taken. The waitress was pleasant and brought back crème etc.. I ordered the new Bacon Avocado Eggs Benedict and I asked for a toasted English muffin. My son had the omelet and pancakes. My meal was perfect. The bread was toasted as I asked and there was just enough hollandaise sauce and the egg was cooked perfectly. There was allot of crusty cooked bacon. The fruit for my side was cold and fresh. My son said the same about his omelet and he raved about the pancakes. It was a quick in and out even though the place was full. The coffee was a solid 4. I know it's a chain store but well worth the time. The meal was under 30. which in today's market is more affordable. Did I mention both of us took some home and ate it for our next meal? I ordered curbside pickup so I could bring breakfast back to camp on our vacation. I got there a fee min before the pick up time and called to let them know I was there. Voice-mail. Waited 10 min. Called. Voice mail. Waited 5 min and they said they would be right out. Waited 20 min and went in. My order was behind the counter. Waited several min and was then given my food. I ordered chocolate chip pancakes with whip cream and added two syrup caddies to get e ough strawberry syrup. Chocolate covered strawberry pancakes? Delicious. Chocolate chip pancakes burned to the point they are hard to cut, with no butter, no whip cream and no syrup? On the plus side the bacon was bacon . The restaurant was. Clean. Walked in. Had to ask to be seated. People behind us in line got waited on. No one came near to take our or even tell us they would be right there. We, my husband and 4 grandchildren, arrived early, and we're seated quickly. Service for drinks was fast, I understood later as to why, took quite awhile for our food to arrive. Nearly every time I've been to this location over the years the service had been incredibly slow, fairly inattentive and today was the straw that got me to walk out and likely not come back. We got there (party of 4, 2 adults & 2 children) at 2:15 and sat for 12 minutes before another party came in followed in the next five minutes by two more parties. I checked in on Yelp Sunday to join the waitlist. I arrived and said I was on the waitlist, hostess said their online system was down. Was told it would be a 15 minute wait for my party of 4. A party of 6, multiple parties of 2, and a party of 3 came in after us. All of these parties were seated before us. Finally after 32 minutes of waiting we left and went to Ninety nines where there was no wait. I made an online order and then upon opening it realized that most of my order was missing, and the pancakes were raw. When I walked back in to ask about the issues with my order the hostess admitted to knowing about the mistakes as I walked out the door. The facility isn't efficient run or cleaned. The service is quick, nice, welcoming. The pancakes I got (red velvet) could be better but I still ate most of them. The hashbrowns I also got were obviously baked with a bunch of others which I feel lessens the crunch. Nice place but don't expect much. I honestly dislike complaining about food services these days because we all know it's an unstaffed nightmare, however this was just possibly the worse service I've ever received. We were a table of three and when we entered the restaurant there was two waitresses in sight and one sitting the couple in front of us. Neither of them said anything to us for almost five minutes, even when they were right in front of us seating the couple ahead of us. Once we were sat there was maybe four tables that were seated in the entire place. Figuring we happen to catch them before the dinner rush. Our drink order was placed and once we received them, we gave our food order. 40 minutes had passed and when we received our food order it had clearly been sitting back there for some time. Entree 1 was a Buffalo chicken sandwich with fries, it was served cold, the cheese thick, congealed and dry. Entree 2 was Chicken fried steak with Hashbrowns and their classic short stack. The steak was also cold, the hashbrown was wet from being underneath the steak and the gravy on top had congealed to itself from sitting out. The Hotcakes where the only thing that came warm! Entree 3 being Steak tips (cooked Medium) with sauteed onions and mushrooms, Loaded mashed potaotes and mac and cheese. The loaded mashed potatoes I kid you know came out looking as if it was a loaded potato SOUP. The fact the server gave it to me without any thought or reaction was enough for us. The manager seems off but we didn't touch any of our food so we told them to comp the entire thing and we would be leaving. Well we just moved to augusta area, and tried the ihop in augusta today, unfortunately. As we walked in we saw our waitress drop a guys butter and whipped cream off his pancakes on the floor because she was trying to carry the whole tables orders by herself and was literally holding a few plates sideways. When the server finally checked on us when we were done eating which was the only time we were checked on we asked if we were getting more. We were told it would be 5 min. Decided to try out IHOP for the first time and boy do I wish we'd gone elsewhere. Waitresses were all out of sorts and it wasn't the least bit busy. The food was completely mediocre at best. We ordered one breakfast and two lunch entrees, plus three beverages. The pancakes seemed overdone. My BLT was totally unimpressive on cold, toasted white bread. I had a coupon for a free meal so I figured that would be fine. I was shocked to pay $30 for a burger, a BLT, and 3 sodas. The breakfast may be fine in a pinch but why bother when you can make that at home and save lots of money.
