First time eating at a firehouse subs. I went with the Italian with salami, ham and cheese. While it had a few slices of meat and cheese, I ordered a small and it was only 3 to 4 inches big. A lot smaller than I figured for an almost $9 sandwich. Flavor was good, but sizing and pricing not on par with other sub shop competitors. I also like to put on lots of veggies on my subs, but the only options there were lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and chopped pickles. Would probably choose another sandwich shop next time. read more

place of work ordered subs for us. took one 'lunch box' home "(mustard, mayo, chips, and in this case Corned beef) had an odd mouthfeel looks dan dit was easily 30% fat ! white, limp fat. the corned beef was even lacking sufficient salt as one would expect in a corned beef. it was gross.. I enjoy appropriate fat included, but this was way beyond acceptable .... Never again. I will blast out over the phone . egregious insult to honest carded beef sandwiches :-( read more

+Friendly staff, +low prices, decent food. +warm inside with pretty cool decor. +Donates to local firehouses. +affordable enough to visit regularly. Quality similar to that of most subways but prices were better than subway for value, imo. Atmosphere is that of a fast food joint, a little awkward to sit in if you were on a date but nice for a lunch break or quick stop on a day of shopping. The take-out boxes are really nice, solid. Drink does not come with meal automatically. Seems like a pretty nice place to become a "regular" if you like warm subs. Breads were heavy and taste basic but good. Ingredients fresh tasting. Lunch meat was high quality, meatballs were eh. Sauces were great. If you like a loaded sandwich, ask to double up on veggies (lettuce, tomato, onion, etc.), but they put on plenty of lunch meats to get your money's worth. Medium size on the bread is a fully filling meal, small would be like a heavy snack or light meal. Overall, great for price. Great alternative to fast food but not really somewhere I'd take a casual date. read more

I pd over 28 dollars for a foot long cheese steak last night and I have to say in the trash it went worst cheese steak of my life.everything about it was weird.1st off I didn't appreciate lack of choices in types of cheese also steak too chunky thick pieces over all best thing it had going for it was the roll and who wants to pay 28 something for a roll. I dont have a picture right now but this food is so good I went 3 times and I'm stuck on the bbq smokehouse brisket sand. I get it with sauted peppers, onions, mushrooms and tomatoes that's all it needs. So delicious my daughter has the hook & ladder that's huge and her favorite. I recomend this place and are excited for the Bangor restaurant to open. read more

I just ordered a lunch for 25 people. Cristy did a fantastic job. They were on time and they included all the plates, cups, utensils - everything we needed. A friend and I drove to Waterville, Me. and had a hard time finding Firehouse Subs because my TOMTOM didn't recognize street name listed on line. It was such a great lunch. The ladies who worked there couldn't have been nicer to two senior citizens and their service to us was great. read more

Does not taste as good as Subway's Italian, is smaller and more expensive. Strange to see ham, mayo and mustard in an Italian but no pickles (except on the side) or hot relish. Meat was lukewarm - would be better either hot or cold - not somewhere in between. Some of the other subs look better. read more

We wanted to get a sandwich, not Subway but something different. The place was clean and new, staff was attentive, you get a number and sit down and they bring the order to you. The walls have steel plating on them kinda firetrucky motif on them. Granted they are a franchaise, I was thinking they were not at first when we looked them up. I got a Italian med sub, with everything, she got brisket with cheddar chez. Choice white or wheat bread, you know the drill. With the meal 22 bucks, "Do you want to donate your change to first responders" hmmm OK...the chips in these meals are like the size you get when you go on an airplane. Soda fountain was clean and new, modern. My sandwich .."The Italian" was ok, not much weight to the sandwich the meat is shaved very thin, the sandwich was tasty, , veggies, fresh and crisp, it was toasted..by default, and for that price I think I could have basically gotten the same thing at Subway 2 x the size ...kinda reminds me of Quiznos.. Her sandwich the brisket with cheddar, too much sweet sauce and surprisingly NO CHEDDAR, she took a napkin to wipe the sauce off the sandwich ...since it was pouring out of the sandwich when she took a bite. When we left a couple had sat down and the server brought their sandwiches, I could in my opinion see way too much sauce on the sandwiches, looked like a sloppy mess to eat...perhaps they wanted the sauce bath..who knows. 30 mins later not feeling great, I ask my wife how are you feeling she says "Kinda Yucky"... We both had a slight belly ache... I think this is how high the bar is set in 2017 for sandwiches which is very sad, as a kid I remember going to the deli and getting a sandwich it was hand sliced right there, was a nice size and after you ate it you felt fine...these days when you factor in how much you get for yor money as compared to say 40 years ago...it's sucks...I feel sorry for anyone under 30 since they have never experienced a truly great sandwich...such is life. read more

The New York steamer is an amazing sandwich, almost as good as what you can get at a New York City deli. I was reluctant to try what is clearly a chain food place, but I was starving and had to go to Home Depot, Walmart and Staples -- and Firehouse Subs was there. I'm glad I stopped in as the food is excellent, service was excellent and the prices are not bad. It is worth paying just a little bit more than Subway for a sandwich that is in a different universe than Subway. I'll definitely go out of my way to go here again! read more

Not super amazing, but not terrible. The online ordering is weird, since you have to choose a pick up time first and then order, but otherwise easy to customize your order. The store staff were friendly and my food was hot and ready when I got there. It definitely satisfied a craving, and I liked that they had smaller, lower-calorie sizes so I didn't feel like I was gorging. read more

My family went to Firehouse Subs as they were having a fundraiser for my sons high school. I admit it was not a place I would seek out on my own. I figured it was just another sub shop. Was I wrong!! The four of us left all raving about the food. I had the Turkey Cranberry sandwich and it was amazing! What a pleasant surprise- we will be back- many times for sure. read more
