I did have them remake me some because it tasted like hot water that was colored. The remake was better but still not good. I'm expecting Folgers quality nothing above that. But it's not even close. It's bad and the crafts were dirty and need to be thrown away. For the food. It's classic pancakes for the W. I was unimpressed that I had to ask for them besides bringing them all. I had one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had at IHOP recently, and I feel it's important to share what happened--especially for families like mine who expect a safe and respectful environment. We arrived about 40 minutes before closing and were made to feel like an inconvenience from the start. The server reminded us twice that they were closing at 8pm. I assured her we would be quick because my kids were hungry, and we ordered promptly--my kids' meals first. Throughout the visit, the service was rushed and rude. I asked politely if they still had hot water available, and instead was given a full glass of ice water without any response. When I clarified, the server snapped, "Well, you didn't ask for that." The food took a while, and when it came, my eggs were overcooked, the vegetables in my omelet were burnt, and my side of fruit was forgotten. When I asked about it, she boxed it up and said, "Well, we're closed now." After paying the bill, I left what I felt was a fair (though small) tip considering the service. I told her to keep the change since she never brought it back. What happened next was completely unacceptable. As I was leaving with my kids, the server came to the door and shouted at me, using disrespectful language--including profanity--in front of my children. She told me, "Mom, don't come back to this restaurant again," just because I didn't tip well for her poor service. I was stunned and deeply embarrassed, not just for myself but for my kids who witnessed this. This was more than just bad service. This was aggressive, unprofessional behavior that no customer should experience--especially not in a family restaurant. I sincerely hope IHOP management addresses this kind of behavior and ensures their staff are trained in basic courtesy, professionalism, and how to treat all guests with respect. read more

I typically don't eat at mainstream breakfast houses... I prefer the hidden hole in the walls. Today however was different. The IHOP was the only place open near by where I could grab some coffee and a hot meal. The food was decent, you can't mess i up eggs and bacon... the most enjoyable part here was the service. IHOP in Apple Valley use to be my go to for business meeting breakfasts. Over the last couple of years it has gone down hill and is not a place I would meet a client at. Last time I was there we had to ask the server to wipe down our table twice - it was sticky and greasy from the last people that used the table. She was not happy to do it and it was clear she was unhappy with the bus person that she had to wipe our table off. When our food came my food was served on three little plates in that I ordered ala carte - eggs, bacon and toast. I asked for one large plate and the server acted like I was really putting her out with that request. My client's omelette was undercooked - but he was reluctant to send it back, based on the attitude of the server, and just ate his toast. So overall - dirty table, poor service and bad food. Indifferent and hurried server. 3. ALL food cold / undercooked. (Examples: Hashbrowns wouldn't even melt butter. Link sausages tasty but lukewarm and off-putting, Over medium eggs arrived runny and cold on the inside - snotty on the outside. Our waiter was amazing and worked with my order perfectly I wanted cold foam on hot coffee instead of on cold and not pumpkin spice like advertised and they did amazing ! I'm never disappointed with the food at ihop, and this location is my personal favorite. I've never had to wait to be seated and the service is always fast and friendly. Heribert was our waiter this particular visit, and he was very, very friendly and made sure we were being well taken care of. Kudos! We shared that and the egg white vegetarian omelette so we could eat healthy and have French toast for dessert. We asked for the omelette first then later the French toast. I can't believe some of the best service I ever had was at the IHOP in Apple Valley. I got there about 5PM and it was starting to fill up. I just wanted something light and cheap. I ordered a short stack. I couldn't believe the size of them, even bigger than OPH. So I guess it does matter which one you go to. I asked for more then a small blob of butter, and he gave me quite a few blobs, and they tasted so good, and hot to the last bite. I was shocked at all the food listed on the menu. Had I taken the time to really look at the filth, I would have left. There were solicitors inside trying to sell pictures of animals. Wish the burger party was slightly larger but the bacon was heaped on there and laid out correctly instead of most places where you have to arrange it so it is in every bite and not piled on one side Fiancé had eggs and hash browns with with bacon that I stole and a crepe on the side. Everything was amazing. In all fairness the bacon was thin and could have been thicker but for my burger is was a great thickness even though I loaded all her bacon onto my burger. Went there this morning for breakfast and left very full. Haven't been to an IHOP in a while. I was drawn in by a commercial I saw on tv for blueberry cheesecake Belgian waffles. I walked in and was promptly greeted by the greeter person. This location seemed to be very clean. I ordered my blueberry cheesecake waffle. I ate 3/4 of it as it was, no syrup. The last bit I ran out of blueberry topping for so I tried it with some maple syrup. I did not like the syrup at all. I was surprised since I can buy syrup from a store that tastes better than syrup from a place known for breakfast. I left very full. Hash brown, 2 egg and slice of ham with the full waffle cost about 10.50. You can get 1/2 waffle instead for a total of 7.50. I would suggest going that route as I wasn't able to finish all my food. I always feel IHOP is overpriced. I can get a similar meal from a local diner that tastes better with maybe a little more food for like 8.50. Overall an Ok visit though I think it'll be another long while before I go to an IHOP again. read more

I came here with family not by choice, let me say that first. If you like the sort of consistency you can only get from mass produced commercial kitchens, you will love this place! I'm really not the right person for this chain. I love fresh ingredients prepared by someone with a passion for food or a tradition. When I eat food prepared in that way, I share a bit of that passion or tradition at a conscious and subconscious level. I want to leave the table feeling satisfied physically and spiritually, having connected with the people I shared the meal, those who prepared it, and the culture and land from which it came. After leaving the table here, I was left with the faint taste of plastic on my tongue and the feeling of regret in my stomach. At least the company was good. read more

I used to come to this IHOP for Sunday morning breakfast dates with my boyfriend. The last time we were in was so awful. We've now recently started to drive across town to the Burnsville location for our breakfast dates. The food from IHOP is always delicious and we've always had very good service from the Apple Valley location. They haven't ever severely messed up our order (maybe a forgotten hot sauce bottle or ketchup bottle, nothing serious). However, the last time we were in we were seated in the back corner by the emergency exit and the dirty dishes area. We would've definitely understood being seated there if it had been a busy day but the number of people in the restaurant was average with plenty of seating that was not located in the back of the restaurant. Okay, so we got over the fact of where we were seated. But the service from our waitress was awful. We sat at our table for a long time before she came over to greet us and take our drink orders, she took forever to come take our orders and bring us our drinks, and she barely even checked in with us. I was telling my boyfriend how I felt like she had forgotten about us because we had been waiting on our check for about 20 minutes. She then came over and stated that "she had forgotten about us because we were sitting in the back corner". When I can see you from my table just messing around with your co-workers instead of actually serving your customers since you're on the clock, I don't feel valued as a customer and I'm going to take my business elsewhere. read more
