2 years ago I went to this IHOP and it was the worst IHOP on the planet. They had no less than 12 young kids standing outside the kitchen jaw jackin about high school and other gossip. I waited 15 minutes for a cup of coffee. I never got my coffee nor any breakfast. This place has turned around immensely!! They now are very attentive and helpful! The staff is friendly and kind! I come here about 1-3 times a month, definitely better than the one in holly springs. I always had good experiences up until today. Everything was fine up until getting food, now im not sure weather our waitress was having a bad day or not but either way it could of been handled better, thats just a part of working in this type of business; if you have a bad experience with 1 table you dont bring that energy to the next table. The food took twice as long then it usually does, waited roughly 40 mins. 2 tables that got seated after us got there food before us and its only 3 of us vs a family of like 6-8 and another table that had 3. Food came finally and it was cold, waitress didnt even acknowledge the amount of wait time it was and didnt really check on us until I told her the food was cold. Manager came and was able to fix the situation; got a fresh plate that was hot without hassle, food was still good tasting like usually. Hopefully it doesnt keep happening and it was just this once. This was my only bad experience with this ihop, will still keep coming here but hopefully its better next time. read more

I usually go here and have a wonderful time but today was not my best experience. The manager walked up ( lady in cheetah print shirt) and was giving me and my friends an attitude. For example, rolling her eyes and making faces when they were thinking about something. If you like side salads, this place isn't exactly for you. The corn tastes kinda like it came out of the can, and it probably did. We came on a Monday night, and it was slow there, but it still took a good 30 mins or so to cook the food. And the waitress, bless her heart, must be new or didn't want to be there. I was trying to decide whether she was a robot or not. I doubt a Turing test would've given an answer. She was attentive, but forgetful. She forgot the stores promotion going on, but she fixed it afterward. The double blt was good. The restaurant was clean, and everyone else was friendly. This IHOP is almost always on the ball. With classic breakfast specials starting at just $7 the prices can't be beat. The waitresses here have been serving here for as long as I can remember and they are excellent, fast, and never forgetful. I wouldn't normally review an IHOP. Actually to be honest I'm such a good snob I wouldn't normally go to IHOP but my husband and I were craving eggs and pancakes so we decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised to have really good food aid great service here. A girl held the door for us and I watched another girl clean the windows. This is one of the cleanest IHOP's around. I wish they stayed open later though. I've had a few issues with them screwing up our order, but the food is well prepared. I generally rate IHOP's based on their omelets and chocolate chip pancakes, which were both excellent. This is also the only one I've been to where you pay at the table. I have been to this place several times in the years that I have lived in Apex. It has progressively gone down hill over that time. I went there last week and it was awful. I will never go back. The service was good. But the quality of the food was very low. My husband said the maple syrup was like flavored water. I had pancakes and they were basically flavorless and dry. This is the worst service and slowest service. When we tried to speak to the manager he stated food was on its way. 30 mins later we have our food. Manager wouldn't even let us speak and keep speaking over us. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. read more

This is our go to breakfast joint. Even though it's a big chain restaurant, we always have a good experience. If we're up in the morning and have the urge for a breakfast outing, this is usually our restaurant of choice. The staff is friendly and the food comes out very fast. read more

Went to IHOP for lunch today. The food was wonderful but what really stuck out to us was our server, Madison. Not only was she prompt and friendly, but when our order was messed up, she apologized and assured us that our correct food would be out shortly. Sure enough, the food was out within 5 minutes and she even gave me (which I had the correct order) a new omelette since mine had been sitting out when waiting for the other order. After that, we were extremely grateful and full. Madison then approached us and told us that we would get that omelette complimentary! 3rd time at this place and each time has been identical. You don't wait long to be seated but once seated everything else takes forever. Servers are nice enough but rarely come back, don't take plates or refill drinks hardly at all. Today for a late breakfast it took 2 hours for 2 adults and 4 kids. Most of that wait was for food to come. All 3 times we have been it appears as though they need to add at least one more person for waitstaff and a few more bussers. The restaurant isn't very clean. Maybe I just have bad luck, but every time I go to this IHOP, they actually forget about me. Last time I went, they took 20 minutes just to bring our drinks, and then forgot to take our food orders. Yooooooo...... I've been coming to IHOP for years. And it's an experience where u know exactly what to expect and it get. So I got up and went to IHOP around 2 in the afternoon before our daily errands. I walked in and sat down and immediately started hating saying " IHOP is soo unsurprising, its so middle of the road". So I order the Big IHOP Pancake Burger, the basics double meat cheese lettuce tomato and the kicker a pancake griddled to perfection with cheddar by Antonio, absolute magician with two spatulas and a grill. So the food arrives and as if all my hate went out the door and a mini orchestra starts playing. A textbook burger is served in front of me. Meat glistening with its natural juices. Bun and condiments perfectly assembled and in order. When I take my first bite, when I tell u the amount of flavor and juiciness that hit me all at once was nothing like I've experienced at IHOP before. The burger was pure bliss exploding onto my taste buds! On top of the pancakes on the side the biggest reason you have to go to IHOP. Best on the market!! #ShoutOut read more

This is the second time we have been to this location. This is the second time we have been treated rudely. Hostess at front was rude and sullen. She could barely muster up a sentence. After standing for several minutes, her only question was "two"? Seeing how we were the only people in the lobby and had been waiting while she was on the phone, it seemed obvious that it was just the two of us. Because we had to wait to be seated until she was off the phone, we missed the special priced breakfast by 6 minutes, which was not a big deal, however, it added to the overall frustration of the visit. Being a national chain, I guess you know what to expect, however, I think it's not to much to expect some customer service. I'm treated better at McDonalds. I've worked in the service industry and sometimes is sucks, but you put a smile on your face and you take care of customers. That's part of the job, if that's not your cup of tea, than find a job in a less interactive environment... Thanks IHOP for ruining a special breakfast with my child. I typically get my orders To Go, and every single time I pick them up, parts of my orders are missing. Sometimes it's because they just didn't put the food in the bag, but frequently they just didn't make parts of the order at all. The most recent time this happened my husband had to plead with someone at the restaurant to give us the rest of our food because he'd gotten home and realized half of it was missing. The lady spent 5 minutes arguing with him about it and explaining why she couldn't have possibly made a mistake, and that we must be mistaken about what was on our order. Then the manager got involved and tried to claim we must not have gotten all our food because we probably tried to order something that was no longer on the menu (the missing items were scrambled eggs and hash browns). I agree with other reviewers who say the manager is defensive, confrontational, and unwilling to make needed changes in customer service. Twice, I called in my order but the server didn't even bother to send it to the kitchen. My husband showed up to get the food, but had to re-order and wait for it all to cook. The times I ate inside the restaurant, servers forgot to give me drink refills and ignored requests for things like straws. I haven't had nearly as many issues inside the restaurant as I've had with getting things to go, however. read more
