My wife and I found Ignazio's from a Google search while on a desperate weekend hunt for cheese ravioli. Despite living less than ten minutes from Ignazio's, this was our first visit, but it definitely won't be our last. The owner, Nancy, greeted us warmly when we entered, provided exceptional table service, and made our time at Ignazio's more than just an excellent meal but a memorable experience. First, the food. The reviews are accurate. Ignazio's has EXCELLENT pasta. My wife chose the cheese ravioli, and I ordered the bolognaise. Both exceeded our expectations. The cheese ravioli was delectate, not over-seasoned, and served in a delicious marina sauce. Ravioli tends to get rubbery when the pasta is rolled to thick, or tears or breaks down if rolled too thin. These ravioli were ion the "goldilocks zone" of thick enough to hold their body, but delicate enough to be easily severed with the side of a fork. The flavor was a well-balanced mix of cheese, herbs, and tomato acidity. Simply delicious. My bolognaise with penne pasta had the perfect mix of veggies, including fresh peas that hadn't been cooked to mush. The best thing about bolognaise is the pleasing mixture of textures it includes when done correctly. Ignazio's was flavorful, contained delicious and properly-cooked veggies, and had a perfectly-sized dollop of ricotta on top. The ricotta is a genius touch - another contrast of texture along it a temperature contrast. I ate the entire bowl full. We visited over the Spring Break weekend, which made for less-than-full restaurant, which according to the owner, Nancy, is unusual for a weekend evening. She recommended reservations on the weekend as they're typically full-up for the weekend dinner rush. Nancy spent real time at our table, answered questions, provided guidance on the menu, and genuinely made us feel seen and appreciated. Excellent food coupled with excellent service = a restaurant we will absolutely return to in the near future. I've only tried two dishes, but would already place Ignazio's as the best Italian restaurant in Lakewood. It reminds me of the small mom-and-pop Italian places I miss from Chicago that provide excellent food at reasonable prices, served with real hospitality. Ignazio's is a gem. read more

If you're looking for legit Italian sandwiches in the Denver area, Ignazio's Kitchen absolutely delivers. I've actually been here a handful of times before, but always stuck to the pizza and pasta (which are great). I honestly can't believe I overlooked the sandwiches for this long. I went with the chicken parm sandwich and it was outstanding--crispy, perfectly breaded chicken, rich marinara, and just the right amount of melted cheese on fresh bread that holds everything together without getting soggy. Easily one of the best chicken parms I've had around here. I reluctantly traded half for the sausage and peppers sandwich, and honestly... it was just as good. The sausage had great flavor and snap, the peppers were cooked perfectly, and everything tasted fresh and well-balanced. It's rare you order two different sandwiches and can't decide which one you liked more, but that was the case here. One of the sneaky best deals: you can add a cup of soup for just $2. I tried the rustic sausage and potato soup and it was excellent--hearty, flavorful, and felt homemade in the best way. What stood out beyond the food is how consistent everything felt with what others say: high-quality ingredients, generous portions, and that authentic, no-frills Italian deli vibe. Just OK. Felt like I was intruding from start to finish, the staff assumed I was picking up for someone when I walked in. Once seated, the other diners next to me were clearly known to staff (maybe a former or current employee?) so they were showered with attention and loud conversation while I had to repeatedly ask for things and look up the dessert menu on my own. They offered me that dessert to go when they weren't closing for another 30min. They also charged extra for giving me a tiny cup of marinara with my garlic knots and didn't say that would be an additional cost when offered. Lasagna had good flavor but was very light on cheese. Edit: the owner's reply below is a little weird. I know the difference between sound in a kitchen and when the diner is sitting right next to me. I even posted a picture of the inside to show the ambiance. And excusing neglectful service because I was "watching" something on my phone (I was just reading the news, I didn't even have headphones on) shows that the training issues originate from the top. Ordered Door Dash from here based on Yelp reviews. Good, flavorful Italian is hard to find in Denver. We've tried many places in the area and even Yelp isn't always right. We were pleasantly surprised with Ignazio's! The garlic knots are sooo good and the Penne Rustica was flavorful. The arancini is weren't bad but not my favorite. We split this meal so we could give them a careful try but will be back to try more in the future. read more

Went there for lunch yesterday, what can I say? This place is amazing. The owner Nancy is delight, very personable, enjoys what she's doing. Sophie, the waitress, very knowledgeable and what she didn't know, She was able to find out. No liquor license YET, but they're working on it. You gotta have a glass of wine with your Italian food or beer with your pizza. as you know, liquor license aren't as easy to get. They should have there's some time in July 2026. The bathrooms were so clean. Some of the cleanest I've been in for a restaurant. The pizza we had was amazing. The cheese is real mozzarella, the vegetables were fresh, the crust was amazing light and airy. I can't say enough about the garlic knots, yum yum yum. We were given a sample of the tuscan soup, which was also to die for. Very homemade tasting. Even though it was 75* outside it was still very refreshing. The table next to us had some spaghetti and ravioli's it looked delicious. I talked to the ladies that ordered it, they said it was scrambish. You guys, if you're looking for Italian food, this is it in Lakewood Co, they do catering, school functions, and lots of help in the community. If you get a chance, check em out. Here from out of state visiting, saw positive reviews so called for a take out order. Woman who answered interrupted our call 3 times to talk to customers in the restaurant. Because of this I had to repeat my order several times. When we arrived to pick up the pizza was wrong. To fix they literally put the missing ingredients quickly on the pizza, barely cooking them. The result was big chunks of raw red onion, barely warmed sausage and wilted thick chunky mushrooms on the top of the pizza. The penne rustica was okay, chicken chunks were tough and huge. I placed my order at 8:00, the owner taking credit for "accepting" my order 30minutes before closing time but blaming poor execution for the time of order is not a good excuse. read more

I found this restaurant on tripadvisor and after seeing reviews here on yelp, I knew I had to try it. Though the interior was small, it was very cozy and the staff were great. The manager was extremely attentive and personal and made it a point to check in at every table. You definitely could sense the passion and care he had for the restaurant. Our waiter came over to help us order, sharing his personal favorites with us and ended up suggestong the Penne rustica and spinach, scallops and artichoke pasta amd also suggested the Calamari and Crab cakes for appetizer. We ended up going with these suggestions and we were not dissapointed in the slightest! The penne was good, but the scallop and artichoke pasta was definitely the favorite of the table! After such a nice culinary experience, we knew we had to try their dessert. We ordered the carrot cake, tiramiso and canolli. Funny enough, everyone at the table each had their own favorite, which is a sign that each dessert was phenomenal! Our friend who was with us and had lived in New York for over a decade even made the comment that this was one of the best canollis she has ever had, a testament to their quality of food and taste. This place reminded me of my trip to Italy! Sam, treated us like family from the minute we stepped in the door! We also had the honor of meeting Ignazio! What an amazing evening it was! The food is incredible and all homemade! My calzone was the biggest I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot! I love a good calzone and this was the best! My son had gnocchi and homemade meatballs in Alfredo sauce. Also delicious! We had rice balls as an appetizer and this could have been my meal! Also super tasty! I was recently introduced to Ignazio's Kitchen and have been there a couple times in the last month, and have gone with different friends each time. It's a quaint little placed in a Safeway strip mall, which in my experience tend to be some of the best restaurants. The food is amazing, and the service is fast and friendly. We were greeted by the new owner, Nancy, when we walked in, and our server quickly had waters and garlic knots on the table. Thanks to sharing some dishes, so far I've tried the calzone, pizza, pesto tortellini, and lasagna, and all of them were amazing. My friends said their chicken parm was one of the best they have ever had, and another one proclaimed the chicken marsala to be THE best he's had. My teenage children wolfed down their meals and were extremely happy. My daughter has some high standards on lasagna, as her favorite restaurant for lasagna is at the beach in Florida. She is now thrilled she has found her favorite lasagna place in Colorado. We will definitely be back. read more

Don't let the location or the store front fool you. This restaurant is the real deal Italian place. We were on the road, visiting family in Denver and wanted to spend an evening by ourselves. I found this restaurant on Yelp, so we checked it out. We thought the Entrees in the online menu looked good but after we arrived, we found out there was a Chef's Features menu. We ordered house salads, the Veal Piccata and the Shrimps, Scallops, Artichokes dish. Garlic knots were served too. Wow. Everything was delicious. And I had to have the Tiramisu. A new favorite restaurant of both my husband and myself. Ignazio's was originally recommended by a friend who just happened across the restaurant when going to lunch with her daughter. So when we first walked in the greeter was already rushing us and the second we sat down he was already asking for our orders but said we couldn't have pizza because it would take too long. (The restaurant is small so we guessed that this waa so tables could be turned over faster.) A few minutes later the people seated next to us were served pizza. Maybe they called it in before arriving? The next warning sign was when he placed a huge bowl of parmesan cheese that our group strongly suspected had already been used because it had spoon divot already in it and seemed far too large for a single meal serving. Additionally each of us received suspect silverware: the forks had dried food on them. The final coffin nail in our meal was after we received our food: 2 (chicken Parmesan and the sauce for the calamari) of the 3 plates had small, dark and very short hairs in them. Additionally, the chicken Parmesan was not served with sauce, so liquidy it appeared to be basically red water. I absolutely abhor giving poor reviews which can be verified by searching my previous ones. There was just too much wrong that hopefully this was a horribly off night. (The gentleman who greeted us, took our orders, served our food and handled our check was also checking folks in and out for take out orders in addition to providing similar services to all the other tables.) Bad days can and do happen; however, for the price the majority of the meal was inedible either due to presentation, taste or both. The caprese salads were overall good. The calamari consisted of rubbery rings served cold having the appearance and mouth texture of something freezer burned. The pesto pasta lacked flavor. The bread knots which were gratis had zero garlic flavor and were somehow both rock hard and chewy at the simultaneously and in the same knot. (Several were tried so it was not just a single piece.) I wish this business success as the restaurant business is hard but will not be revisiting. read more

I ordered a pizza and a salad and a 2-liter Diet Coke for delivery. The pizza is delicious--a large pepperoni. The crust is a crunchy texture with an amazing taste. The pizza was delivered with the salad, but the driver had regular coke, not Diet. So I told him it was a mistake and that I didn't want the Regular. He said to contact Door Dash (their delivery company). So I called Ignazio's restaurant instead and Ignazio told me he'd give me a free one next time. I said, I want money or Diet Coke today, please! He said he'd drive it over to my house. So he did. In the meantime, I checked my order online and it was my fault -- I had in fact clicked Coke, not Diet Coke. Oops. Oh dear. What a let down in every way. The atmosphere was crowded and overwhelming (not because it was busy but because the decor is so cluttered and the staff is so loud). The food was just plain bluh. The garlic knots were not fresh. They were hard and dry. The pasta sauce was no better than one from a jar. The meatballs were lacking flavor and the sausage was fatty and cheap. The prices don't seem too bad until you see the portion sizes and you realize that you don't get a soup or salad. The service was obnoxious. A waiter who is intrusive, pushy, and boastful. Our conversation was interrupted over and over again by the server who spoke incessantly about his accomplishments and life story. It was frustrating and tiresome. We will not return. read more

Decided to try, Ignazio's was close to our hotel in Lakewood. Service was FANTASTIC! We ordered the arancini balls for our appetizer and a large (18") pepperoni pizza. Arancini balls were delicious! Served piping hot and with a delicious marinara sauce. The pizza was good! Crust was a bit crunchy for my taste, but I'm a NY girl and I love folding my pizza when eating.... don't try this here! lol.
