Cheers!

On August 2, 2026 my wife and I had some free so we decided to stop in Idletyme. I'm glad we did. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside. It is a large, attractive space. They had a nice crowed but we managed to find two spots at the bar. We had a couple of beers and split the French Onion Soup. Everything was very good. Service was good, and prices are reasonable.

In from out of town and stopped by today for dinner. We were seated quickly and I have to say we probably had the nicest server (Jeremy who also works the bar) that we have seen in a long time. We had an issue with one of our plates and Jeremy and a young lady (did not get her name) were quick to solve the issue and ensure we left happy.

Beautifully decorated inside. Very cozy cabin type vibes. Our server was super friendly and went over some of his favorite menu items with us. Gave us a sample of one of the drinks on tap. Delicious food. The braised short ribs were amazing. I ate every last bite. Happy with our visit.

The vibes here are chefs kiss. We loved sitting outside on a nice sunny September afternoon. We got the goddess salad with a black bean patty and the chili. Both were good and perfect for a lighter lunch.

Fish and Chips - annoyingly served in a bowl??
Lisa N.

Meh. This is my third time and likely my last. We ordered the cheddar fritters which were very good but the only good thing we ate. We both ordered beers which were good enough. The fish and chips served in a bowl were soggy, I ended up eating the fish out of the batter and left the soggy batter behind. The fries were also soggy bc of the way they decided to plate this dish. The server didn't ask / offer ketchup until we were already half way done eating. I had to ask for an extra plate just to put my ketchup on bc of the bowl format of this dish. (No mention or sight of any malt vinegar either) My bf said the burger was "okay." He wouldn't order it again. Just not worth the $80 bill for me. Disappointed to say the least. Also those metal chairs suck so much! Anyone with a behind finds them uncomfortable.

I came here with a large group on a Friday night. We made a reservation but there weren't many other people there, so we probably would have been fine without it. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. The menu is small. Not a ton of options to choose from. I got the mountain road grain bowl, which was mediocre at best. The chicken was dry and skimpy. The sweet potatoes were cold and hard. The portions were generous (just not the added chicken). I left full but not impressed.

Lots of different beers to try here. Tons of positive energy by the people who work at the brewery.

Came for dinner on a Wednesday evening and had a nice dining experience. Parking in their lot was easy and we were able to walk in and get a table. Workers were all friendly. Inside is large with many different areas to sit in the original area, the bar, outside seating for warmer days and another back area. Inside is cute with a nice atmosphere. The menu has a variety of soups, salads, sandwiches and other entrees. My fork did have a little bit of food debris on it. We ordered the Vermont cheddar fritters and the herb-grilled chicken sandwich. I was starving when I came so this really filed me up! The fritters were crispy and delicious. The crunch and the warm cheese oozing out was the best! The aioli that came with them was delicious, not too spicy. The sandwich was also tasty. The pickles gave a nice crunch and the green goddess dressing was tasty. Overall a nice meal!

In the center of Stowe with plenty around if you're in town looking for a meal. I came here in the evening, midweek, during the offseason, and there was no wait. The hostess was friendly and quick to seat. The waitress was helpful in making selections and food came out really quick! I was in and out of the place within an hour but 30 minutes of that was relaxing after the meal enjoying a beer. On the food front the soup of the day hit the spot after a wet and rainy hike followed by some wings. The beer was good, I went with the Cloudsplitter IPA. Overall, if you find yourself in Stowe looking for a quick service and great dishes, checkout this spot!

Wow. Wow. As you enter the reception area, the ambience is awesome. Plants, large windows, they hit the mark with the flow of the restaurant! I had the French onion soup and it left me wanting more with trying to figure out why it stood out front the rest! The maple syrup Mac and cheese was incredible!

We came here for lunch and were seated outside, which was perfect. It was a beautiful day and we had a nice view of the garden while we ate. The host and our server were both friendly and welcoming. We started with the Vermont Cheddar Fritter because why not when you're in Vermont. It was cheesy with a good kick and a great way to begin the meal. I ordered the steak frites and the steak was cooked perfectly. The maple onion jam added a nice touch and the fries were crispy and delicious. My partner had the Mountain Road Grain Bowl with added chicken. It was fresh, flavorful, and something I'd love to try making at home. Overall we had a great dining experience and would definitely come back.

Mac n cheese, flower child black bean burger, greek salad, brussel sprouts side
Heather R.

We got the mac n cheese, flower child black bean burger, brussel sprouts side and a the greek salad to share for two. Great amount of food, we have leftovers! Wide selection of draft and canned beers/ciders. Great atmosphere with dim lighting, perfect for a date night! Very packed parking lot, highly suggest making a reservation online or you will be waiting a while for a table. Service was quick and friendly. Will be coming back!

Do you serve Chardonnay wine?

Yes we do! 2 different Chardonnay by the glass.

Im seeing mixed information about the dog policy. Are they or are they not allowed on the outdoor patio? Have been many times before, and are hoping to bring some guests this time who have their dog traveling with them.

Danielle, Thank you so much for taking the time to ask. We do allow dogs on the Patio, Back Lawn…

The outdoor space has really been enhanced over the last few years and is a delightful place to bring friends and family. The potatoes were especially good. They hold events on their website including Boogie Bingo which we attended on Thursday night. Great host with a very dry sense of humor. We come up to Vermont every year, and this will definitely become a regular spot for us. Cheers!

We waited about 15 minutes for a table. Not bad at all!! Our server was energetic and accommodating. She cheerfully answered all our questions and honored our request to get a margherita pizza as an appetizer. The aforementioned pizza arrived in no time. It was good. Not the best ever, but still quite solid. The star of the culinary show was the salmon entree. Both my wife and I got it and we both loved it. It was a big piece of wood fired salmon and came with a nice assortment of roasted veggies. I'm talking real veggies--zucchini, broccoli, fingerling potatoes, the works. Neither one of us are big drinkers, but there are LOTS of microbrews on tap if you're into that kind of thing. The dining room was lively without being too noisy. Both of us enjoyed hanging out there. It would be a great place to have a beer and watch baseball on TV. Will definitely return the next time I'm in town.

The poutine was very good, but I'll grant you that it's maybe hard to get that wrong - but their gravy is on point! Service was great - got there around 5:40pm on a Wednesday, so the wait was non-existent and a table for 5 was easy to accommodate. Duncan was the server, who disclosed that he was new but you wouldn't know it from how he took orders and brought food out. Even threw him a curve by asking for the steak frites with an additional side of brussel sprouts, which he handled no problem - even though there weren't any sides I saw on the menu. Steak was medium rare and perfectly seasoned, and I think I mentioned the chimichurri but it deserves additional mention. Maybe you're wondering about beverages. The maple lemonade is great - it leans harder on the tart side and there are sweeter options around (Cliff House) but I love a lemonade that tastes... lemony. Pineapple cherry punch was also a hit - but that's secondhand hearsay, unlike my direct opinion on the chimichurri - which I would drink if I could. Definitely check this place out. The table near ours seemed to immensely enjoy their meal and also get great service from Duncan.

I'm glad I got there before everybody else close by the time they got there I've been waiting a while but by the time I got there, there was no tables available so if I hadn't held the tables we had we wouldn't have been able to get seated together or sit down and eat. All the food was top-notch oh my goodness it was so fresh and tasty. The service was amazing. They had drink specials that day. We tried one of them something with bourbon. I don't know what it was. I think it was a mule. But so delicious some of us got pizza some sandwiches, some good fish. It was a wide variety across the board of things that people ordered. Everything was just delicious and it came out so quick and all on time like altogether we had like four tables and everybody ate within five minutes of each other. High quality cuts smoked to perfection. We had an order of every meat they offer and they were all just as good. That being said, I could go back just for the cornbread w maple butter. My word, it was like eating cake for dinner. The Mac & cheese was ooey and gooey with a nice crispy top. And the cookie skillet was like a party in your mouth.
