I went in to purchase 1 cupcake for my dairy free daughter on her birthday. They told me they were too busy to hand me 1 cupcake and that I would need to wait an hour until it was my turn. The rude girl with her gross camel toe, too tight leggings, blonde pony tail, could have cared less when I told her I couldnt wait that long and that my daughter was going to be the only kid at her own birthday party without a cupcake. They ruined my daughter's birthday, I was able to find her vegan chocolate chip cookies at Trader Joe's last minute but it was not the same. Thanks for ruining a very special day for my very sweet daughter. I will never return to your business. I will continue to tell people this story as long as you are in business. I hope you fire that horrible girl. She was the worse. read more

Disclaimer: I effing LOVE cupcakes. Rarr! Call me the cupcake monster! That said, I really like how unpretentious Ida's is. A "real" neighborhood place with seriously fresh, delicious cupcakes. I've been to many a cupcake shop and the coolest part about Ida's is that you don't just go in and pick from their pre-made selections. You pick the cake flavor and frosting flavor you want and they make it custom for you right on the spot. How sweet is that? My favorites so far: Strawberry cake (super moist and made with real strawberries) with Chocolate frosting & Lemon Cake with Raspberry Swirl Frosting... Looking at the website right now to see what I want to try next. Perhaps Pumpkin cake (which I sampled and is REALLY good) with Vanilla buttercream? Yeah... that sounds good :) read more

The best cupcakes around!! And with the dog friendlt cupcake options my dogs would agree!

Ordered a custom gluten free cake and custom designed cupcakes and they were absolutely perfect. And did I mention, delicious. Everyone, kids and adults, loved the decorations and flavors. Thank you for a great experience. read more

Want to ruin your kids birthday? Order cupcakes from Ida's and sit back and wait for the package to not arrive. I was told my order would go out on a Wednesday shipping with plenty of time to spare. But a phone call and multiple antagonizing emails from Idas resulted in a refund plus Ida left me with the impression that the cupcakes were shipped a day late so ida was making good on my timely order. Instead I am embarrassed by my twin 6 year old nephews who did not receive our gift. Bah humbug - in an economy driven by Covid 19 to receive such terrible customer service businesses like Idas do not deserve to remain operational! Browsing Yelp and trip advisor I am not alone in my sentiment. Shop anywhere else Autumns comments are utter nonsense - I was led to believe ida shipped the cupcakes but refunded my payment because they were shipped late. At no time in any of our correspondence did Autumn indicate the cupcakes were not shipped. The issue was imposed by idas because even though I submitted my order ahead of the Wednesday deadline but Ida failed to ship on time then told me they were shipped on thursday which turned out to be false read more

This place was so cute! I wanted to get just a few fun cupcakes for a group event and they delivered! Even as just a walk in I was able to get a plethora of 'minis' and the women were super sweet, helpful, and fun! Not to mention the cupcakes were a huge hit and super tasty/ creative. Thanks ladies of Idas!! read more

Formerly Le Cakery, the owner renamed this little bakery and moved it across the street on Galveston Avenue to a more visible space that also offers enough room for three small tables and some chairs for indoor seating. The website says that in addition to cupcakes, there are also rugelah, macaroons and some gluten free products. On our visit there were only cupcakes and that may have been due to the recent move as it appeared she was still trying to get settled in to the new space. A selection of cake flavors were posted on a big chalkboard along with a selection of frosting and glaze options. One gets to "mix and match" to create just the right combo for your sweet tooth and the cupcakes are available in large or small sizes. We each ordered a small cupcake, one pumpkin with cream cheese frosting and the other a key lime cupcake with coconut frosting. Both were tasty, the key lime flavor was particularly nice and tart, but the frostings on both seemed almost tooth achingly sweet. But it is frosting after all! So, not a criticism but an observation that our palates aren't quite in line. Tea and coffee are available, the latter good Bellatazza served in a pump pot on the front counter. We're not big consumers of cupcakes, so probably won't go back for that purpose. But we'll check back in to see if there are rugelach and macaroons available...among our favorite bakery treats...and maybe we can talk the owner into making hamentaschen too! Bend has a couple of good bakeries and one excellent bakery, but none make Jewish pastries and cookies - that would be a welcome addition for Bend. read more

Fabulous bakery with great customer service! I set up the order on the phone for a gender reveal party. They created the design I sent them a photo of perfectly and filled the center with a colored frosting (after someone else called with the baby gender). The cupcakes themselves were delicious and very filling. We got chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting. Yummy! Price was pretty high... but it was well worth the great customer service and perfect product. read more

Every cupcake I have had from here is delicious and worth the price! The vanilla buttercream frosting is the best. I've appreciated them being open during the quarantine and have delivered to my car ehich is extra handy. read more

Cake tasted good and happy that there was gluten free cupcakes available. However, I ordered a very specific design and what was actually decorated on the cake was kind of a joke. I sent a picture of the decorative design I wanted on the cake, and it was a picture of a design that Ida's had done in the past and even posted on their website! So I thought, since they had done that design before that they could do it again. Guess not, what I got was a big joke and to think I paid a fair amount extra to have this special design. Ida's is worth it for the cake taste but DO Not pay extra for a special decorative design, they can't do it but will tell you the can. Unfortunate since this was for my wedding. read more

From the initiating phone call to the actual consumption, Ida's Cupcake Cafe was a wonderful experience! The staff were very friendly over the phone! They custom-made an amazing carrot cake for pick-up. Staff called to verify my order & logistics. The cake itself was indescribably delicious! It was extremely dense, flavorful, and moist! We would definitely go to Ida's again! read more

Customer service was mediocre. The cupcakes look amazing. Taste is okay for being all free. They couldn't tell me what ingredients are in them as they do not make the cupcakes here. All cupcakes are flash frozen. read more

Simply put, the best cupcakes I've ever had! The lemon, strawberry and chocolate peanut butter are my favorite, but honestly, they are all amazing. The cake itself is amazing. Ida, you're alright. Called in an order of vanilla cupcakes as birthday boy likes vanilla. I got him is vanilla but I was pretty sure the rest of us wanted different selections of icing. He got a big all vanilla cupcake and the rest of us got a selection...none to be scoffed at. All moist, heavy and fabulous icing. Great service on the phone. Great service at pickup. read more

Due to an emergency, we found ourselves short 200 mini cupcakes we were supposed to contribute to a wedding dessert table. I called Ida's and explained my plight. Emily remained calm, walked me through placing the order and estimated a pick up time. What a relief to load the cupcakes into the car and take off to the wedding. Thank you, Emily, for making the impossible happen. The cupcakes were very popular and we will be back! read more

Third time was not the charm. We really wanted to like this place as we love cupcakes and the idea of cupcake shops but it's really nothing special. When you bite into a cupcake you don't think "OMG! This is ****ing awesome!" The flavors don't pop. Local grocery stores sell better, more flavorful cupcakes. read more

My son and daughter have celiac disease so they love any opportunity to have a cupcake. We were told to visit Ida's for Gluten free cupcakes and they were wonderful. These were by far the best I've had (I'm from Phoenix). The cake is not dry like many GF options. And the frosting is not too sugary - just right. The best part is choosing your own frosting! read more

My husband and I were in downtown Bend and saw a van selling cupcakes. The girl selling them was so friendly and the cupcakes looked amazing. She told us that the actual bakery was right down the street and that they had more flavor options to choose from so we decided to give it a try. We were not dissapointed. They had nine flavors of cupcakes and nine kinds of icing. You can mix and match them to create the flavor you want. My husband picked the red velvet with cream cheese frosting. He said it was the best he had ever had. I chose a chocolate cupcake with orange chiffon icing. I love orange and chocolate together and this combination was amazing. The cupcake was dense and moist with little chocolate chips in it- SO chocolatey! yum! I live in California and I wish Ida's Cupcake Cafe shipped their cupcakes because I would order a box a week if I could. read more

Wow! Coming back here! The ladies were so nice and the cupcakes were completely customizable and simply delicious!

This place is a must stop. They have a board of "cake" flavors and a board of "frosting flavors." You select the cake and frosting combo you want, and they go in the back and make it for you. I went with a peanut butter chocolate chip cupcake/pumpkin spice frosting + a coconut chocolate chip cupcake/coconut frosting. My girlfriend went with a chocolate cupcake/German chocolate frosting + a lemon cupcake/cream cheese frosting. So delicious and rich, it's hard to eat more than one at a time. read more

OK, I make all flavors of cupcakes myself, so I am VERY picky. I like to check out cupcake shops when we travel and get ideas. There were not any cupcakes on display, which I thought was odd. I get that they make them for each customer, but they should have had some in their case to help people decide and advertise their stuff. The flavor board was overwhelming to me. I ended up asking the girl what their best sold flavor is, and she recommended chocolate. So I got one "kid cake" with chocolate cake and caramel icing, and then one champagne cupcake. I didn't get to see what they looked like after decorated, and I paid $4. They gave me a takeout box, nothing special. They had cute cake boxes on display, but I guess you have to pay extra for those?? I got out to my car and opened the plain box. The cupcakes were smashed inside, icing all over the top. Such a bummer. Part of the appeal of a good cupcake is presentation. I could tell they had been nice, however, but Ida's should really consider adding a decent box into their overall price. It makes a difference when the goods look nice!! Now taste: The chocolate one was very, very moist, but not super chocolatey. It had chunks of chocolate chips, which I did NOT like, as they offset the texture of the cake and make a dsitraction (my husband liked them ok, though). The caramel icing was just ok...greasy from shortening and artificially flavored. That cupcake overall just just good, a step up from ok. The champagne cupcake was awful. It was fake flavored and the icing was an abnormal orange color, with silver sprinkles. We each only had one bite and tossed the rest. I know shops use shortening because it's cheap and holds up better than butter. I KNOW that there are alternative icings out there (I have several amazing recipes myself) that are all natural and taste amazing, holding up just fine to heat or whatever. They are more expensive to make and take longer, though. I guess the majority of Americans like the powdered sugar, easy, boring versions with fake flavors. I have had amazing cupcakes in bigger cities (Icing On The Cake, Los Gatos, CA and New Cascadia in Portland, to name a few). This place isn't anything special. read more

I was visiting Bend for a concert, and stayed at an Air Bnb on the Old Bend side of town. I was really in the mood for something sweet and after walking around my husband and I stumbled onto this place. I really liked that they make customized cupcakes. If you want chocolate on chocolate or vanilla on lemon, you can get whatever you want! Cute little shop, I went for chocolate and my hubby went for lemon. We got a couple glasses of water (on the house) and sat on the small patio to eat our cupcakes and they were really good! Perfect amount of sweetness and chocolate flavor and the lemon was just right as well. Service was great and we left happy! read more

For full disclosure, my husband and I are cranky, critical, hard-to-please types (mostly my husband :-D). I, too, make lots of cupcakes (for aforementioned cranky husband) and I know well his demanding cupcake expectations. I bought four cupcakes when we were in town a couple of weeks ago (all from, um, their display). My sweet daughter had one...and the other three were consumed in short order by my beloved. Here is what he had to say about the Red Velvet cupcakes and the German Chocolate cupcake: MMMMMMMMMmmmMMMMMMMmmmmMMMMM. MMM. MMM. MMM! When I come back to town in a few weeks, I will secretly go back to Ida's to try a cupcake of my own. But, I give Ida's Cupcake Cafe 5 stars because Ida's made my family very happy....and that is a 5 star accomplishment! read more

I am a fan of Ida's. My friend and I stop by occasionally for "cupcake dates." I've always been greeted and the service is decent. In addition to that, I like being able to choose my cake and frosting flavor. Some people mentioned having received a dry cupcake, but I have never experience that before. I'm not a fan of whiskey, but my boyfriend loves it. During the holidays I ordered him an eggnog cupcake with the bourbon buttercream and he still talks about it today. Apparently the buttercream smells and tastes just like bourbon. I will have to get him a few during the upcoming holidays. Please offer it this winter! read more

The cutest little place. Came in tkk in grab cupcakes for a dinner and enjoyed the cafe set up, fun mixing and matching flavors together.

Ida's Cupcakes changed ownership within the past year or two and the quality has suffered. One of the things that I loved about the original Ida's was that her cupcakes were not too sweet. The new owners must have changed some of the recipes because now the icing is overly sweet, to the point that I have to scrape half of it off. I do applaud that they kept the same ordering system where you mix and match your cake and icing flavors but just wish they kept the recipes the same. read more

What a treat! Went in on a Friday afternoon with my kiddos and got some yummy cupcakes. What a nice surprise to find that we could "create" our flavor. Meaning: choose what type of cupcake you want and then choose the icing. I love that! Don't get me wrong...having the decision made for your is nice but changing it up a bit totally rocks. I chose the Red Velvet Cake with the Buttercream Bourbon. Can you say, "Absolutely deLisH?!" That combo totally rocks and that Bourbon gives the buttercream and extra kick. The staff is very nice and super helpful. We even got to meet Ida herself! What a nice lady. It's always nice to come to a place that is so personable. I will be back...I have to try all the flavors, right? It is especially nice around the holidays with the different festive flavor combos that they come up with. They have super great specials as well. :) read more

Ida's was a cute little find, they had no wait and the cupcakes were moist and delicious. I love how there was so many combinations of cupcakes and frostings. I love Ida's, but my waistline does not love Ida's. Good thing this place closes at 5 on weekdays or I'd be in serious trouble! These things are so delicious. Everyone at my work is going crazy over the mix-n-match options. Plus with winterfest it's buy one get one free! So far the best ones are red velvet with oreo frosting and key lime with coconut frosting. If you have a sweet tooth this is definitely the place to go to indulge. read more

I love the t-shirts here! They are so cute! The girls will frost each cupcake to order so they are very fresh, or you can order one out of their display case. There are two sizes- a small and a large. I ordered the chocolate cake with German choclate frosting. Since it is frosted to order the frosting was cold from the fridge. I let it come to room temperature before I ate it. Their Chinese take out boxes are THE perfect size for a cupcake to go. The parking is very diffcult so please take care! read more

If we are talking about the cupcakes, they were great! Every flavor was delicious. However, the customer service was awful. A cupcake shop is suppose to be a happy place. Ida's in Redmond is great!! The girls there are always so enthusiastic and a pleasure to get cupcakes from, and the cake is also awesome! Without a doubt the best gluten free cupcakes I have EVER had. I've had Kyra's cupcakes Before (4 time winner of cupcake wars), and Ida's cupcakes make Kyra's look like a joke. First off, I love the cupcakes--they are amazing. Too much frosting, but the girls are always awesome about putting half the amount on that they normally do at my request. Red velvet with salted caramel frosting: AMAZING. That said, I'm confused when I read reviews about how nice Ida is! My family (whether just my husband, just me, or with our three children) has been in there easily 20 times in the last year and a half (since moving to Bend and discovering it) and I have never, not even ONCE, seen Ida offer even a smile to me or any other customer. She acts cranky and unfriendly, and her husband appears to be no better. This is not me waiting for someone to smile (which, you know, should be standard customer service in any sort of shop trying to make/keep customers), this is me offering a smile and a greeting and not getting ANY response in return. It's bizarre! The first few times, I thought maybe she was just having a bad day. But that appears to be EVERY day, as I've never seen her act otherwise. She does hire some friendly staff though! I think only one of them has been less than smiley, and that was a recent visit with Ida standing behind the counter with her. I can only guess she might not be the most fun to work for. The girls at the Galveston shop are rad. So after all of that, I continue to be a customer because I love their cupcakes, but the atmosphere is way happier and more enjoyable without the owners around! read more

When I was eating Vegan, Ida's cupcakes was where we got my birthday cupcakes and EVERYONE LOVED THEM!!! They do a great job and the people who work there are always super nice. It's a cute little shop which also caters to gluten free. My sister has Celiac Disease and we always get her a few cupcakes when she's in town. Her Celiac is severe, to the point where the smallest amount of gluten will upset her body, but she never has to worry about anything from Ida's. She's never been sick from their stuff and the cupcakes are truly lovely little creations. Thank you Ida :) read more
