The cupcake shops in Portland need to take notice of the earth shattering idea of frosting as you serve! I loved being able to match my cake to my frosting, and so did everyone at our dinner party. The cakes were moist. the frosting perfectly whipped and the portions huge! read more

Really good cupcake! The place to stop if your visit Bend..... perfect for desert.... sugar rush

While I was at a wedding in Bend, they had these cupcakes as their wedding cake. So last week before I traveled home I bought six of them froze them and took them on the plane with me. They've been a real treat over the past few days read more

Ida's Cupcake Cafe - Salted caramel and toasted coconut cupcakes - Cupcakes Near Me - Bend, Oregon

Great gourmet cupcakes but beware, gourmet = expensive. Don't take a huge group unless you're prepared to pay a lot for a treat. I would recommend Ida's for special occasions. read more

Superb cupcakes at this unassuming place. The "chocolate on chocolate" is incredible. They even have a root beer cake. Kids' size (which are normal-size) are only $2; the enormo grown-up cakes are $3. Excellent mid-day gastronomic overload. read more

Thank you so much for catering our impromptu wedding! Idas has it all... variety, delicious and moist cake, frosting that's tasty, and wonderful service. The Oreo was my favorite. When you order your cupcakes be sure to tell them you want today's fresh baked product. Otherwise, IMO, you may get yesterday's leftovers.

Ida's cupcakes are great! They are awesome for birthday parties and special occasions! Best cupcakes I've ever had!

I will not get cupcakes from anywhere else. They have so many flavors and each one tastes freshly baked. Quality cupcakes at a reasonable price (they have 2 sizes)! Worth a visit! read more

Great cupcakes. I had a coupon that I won from golfing and they were so happy to see that come back to them. I did not feel like that I was a second-class citizen or customer because I had a coupon but they were very happy to make sure that I was taking care of just like any retail customer. I did not know Their cupcakes are made by hand and it took her quite a long time to make a dozen cupcakes. The cupcakes were absolutely fantastic, the customer service was absolutely fantastic, and I will be sure to be back as soon as possible. I only wish their second location was open on Sundays. read more

These are the three flavors we had: peanut butter and chocolate chip, chocolate with buttercream, and mint Oreo. Each one was better than the last! Coming from San Diego we have been to many cupcake bakeries, but Ida's is greater than all of them. We are in agreement that these are the best cupcakes we have ever had. Should be the next Cupcake Wars champions! read more

By far the best cupcakes I've had. Went in to get one and walked out with a dozen. My favorite was the red velvet with the cream cheese frosting. If you haven't tried Ida's I would highly recommend you do because you're missing out. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Ida's Cupcake Café for years after I got hooked on their awesome gluten-free cupcakes. My husband and I frequently stop by to enjoy a couple of cupcakes in their store on Galveston. They did a great job creating a custom gluten-free cake for my birthday party a year ago, and I have often stopped by to pick up cupcakes to take to my sister-in-law's in Hood River. And she and her family have frequently visited, too when they are in Bend. Unfortunately, the past few times we have gone to the Galveston location, we have had very rude service. Most recently, we stopped by on Valentine's Day about 12 minutes before their closing time of 5:00pm. There was a long line so we didn't get to order until 4 minutes before closing time. We ordered 2 cupcakes to dine in and were told in a very rude tone, "We close in 4 minutes. If you can eat your cupcakes in 4 minutes, then okay." There was still a long line behind us. There was no way they were going to be able to finish by 5:00 that night, so we would not have been an inconvenience to them if we took a few extra minutes to enjoy our cupcakes in the store. It obviously made the worker mad that we decided to stay and eat because we were very rudely served the cupcakes with her shoving the cupcakes onto the counter and shouting the price to us. And 1 minute before 5:00, they closed the blinds and turned off the "Open" signs even though several people were still in the store. Then as we left, I heard her snarky comment, "you're welcome". I always thank people on my way out of a store, but this experience certainly did not in any way deserve a thank you from us. I have worked retail and am very sensitive to not making people stay late, but I am also very customer-service oriented and would have never been so rude. Anyway, my enthusiasm is totally waning on Ida's. I can make great GF cupcakes at home where I am not made to feel like I am an inconvenience to anyone. 5 stars for cupcakes ... 0 stars for service. read more

I have been in love with Ida's since it was Le Cakery across the street, have to admit, I do miss the old name. But that is the only complaint I have. I stay away from gluten, and the gluten free cupcakes will blow your mind! Every time I give one to a friend, they don't believe they are gluten free. I also have a 13 year old and we recently ordered a ton of kid cakes for a VDay party, such a hit! I'm craving one just thinking about it.... read more

We love this place and will be sure to stop by every time we're within 100 miles of Bend. We had a last minute event come up for which we thought it would be nice to bring three dozen cupcakes. We called Ida's and found out it would be no problem for them to make a full assortment for us, all in about four hours! Very exciting. The cupcakes were a huge hit and we couldn't believe how cheap it all was. Very satisfied customers here and we will be sure to be back at every opportunity. read more

We moved to Bend a year ago and I was worried we would have trouble finding anyplace that made cupcakes that came anywhere close to being as good as our favorite back home. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. In fact, we have become complete and total Ida's addicts. Everything we've tried is mouth wateringly delicious. I think my favorite thing about Ida's is the gluten free cupcakes. I like many of the flavors better in gluten free! For my youngest daughters birthday last month we ordered only gluten free. We didn't tell anyone at the party, put out 10 extra cupcakes, and we had not even one crumb leftover. They are always a hit, at parties, dinners, and my favorite, just as a special treat when we feel like something a little sweet. One of the very best things about Ida's cupcakes is that you can pick them up in advance of your party or event, refrigerate them, and they will still be super fresh and moist and delicious when you serve them. Best. Cupcakes. Ever. read more

Cupcakes taste more like muffins. Although the selection of flavors is vast, they are seemingly bland. I like the idea of a cupcake place in Bend, but I think more could be dine with this establishment. read more

Started with a simple question after lunch from my sister, "want a cupcake?" Who would say no? So we drove and arrived. Before we walked in, my sister states nonchalantly, "the cupcakes are gluten free." Before I could protest, she was up ordering. Three chocolate cakes with vanilla butter cream frosting and a red velvet with the same frosting, this one was mine. We drive home in silence as I was angry for being doofed. Got home, set the cakes in the fridge and about 30 mins later pulled them out. Holy crap they were good. If u had told me they were gluten free, I would have laughed at u. Beyond awesome. If all gluten free products tasted like these cupcakes, everyone would be eating gluten free. Keep in kind I only had one cake, the red velvet, now I wish I had gotten five or six dozen more. I gave 5 stars only bc the cake was awesome. I didn't deal with the nice lady on the other side of the counter nor did I pay. My rating is fully on the cake itself. Must try. I am going back, I don't really know where it is at, but I will drive all over Bend to find it again. read more

SO DELICIOUS!! Although there are many cupcake places popping up everywhere, I have never seen a place where you can choose the cupcake and frosting combo and they make it right there. The cupcakes are HUGE and I ordered a few, put them in the fridge, and ate them a slice at a time. I finished the last one three days later, and it was still great (didn't even get dried out!). Also got a super cute shirt that says, "Make cupcakes not war". Love this place, will be back! read more

I wasn't even able to try a cupcake. I went in there two different times and both times I was not greeted and ignored by the owner! All the customers in there hadn't been acknowledge. How can you run a business like that? It was so rude and unprofessional. read more

Cupcakes are mediocre at best. They were very dry and crumbly. They were served cold as if they had been previously frozen. The frosting tastes like it is from a jar, not from scratch. read more

I have always loved Ida's cupcakes but my most recent experience was far from what I would expect from Ida's. I was hosting a 50th surprise party and went in about 2-3 weeks before to order 7 dozen cupcakes. I was overwhelmed with the options of choices, but I thought I was clear in that it was for a 50th surprise party and that the colors were rose gold, gold, silver and black. I was more concerned with colors than what flavor cupcakes I was getting. I thought I was getting custom rose gold frosting. I had asked to write the birthday's girls name on some of the cupcakes and they did, but it was in purple. Clearly when placing my order the lady taking it and I were on very different pages. When I placed my order, I was so excited about what I was going to get. All that ended up being noted on the order was gold flakes and to call with questions, I never got a call. 2 of the 7 dozen of cupcakes had gold flakes, they redid the cupcakes that had the purple writing after I was ready to pay for 6 more. The lady that took my order seems to like her job but does not do well with details or attention. She was rude when I said I didn't like the purple ones. When I returned the stands she looked at me and turned away, clearly not wanting to interact with me again. That is fine. I will choose not to interact with her again as well. I am not disappointed with Ida's but I am disgusted with the lady that took my order and they way she handled it. I was so excited with my order that I left a 20% tip, so not worth it in the end. If I ever order with Ida's again it will certainly not be done if said lady is working.... As she had said when placing my order, "I use to get people drunk, now I just feed them sugar". She was probably a much better bartender. read more

I ordered 3 dozen cupcakes and one 6" single layer cake. I ordered one dozen with yellow frosting and Oreo crumble (which comes on that specific flavor) 2 dozen not colored with yellow and black sprinkles. Cake with white frosting and black and yellow frosting details. I said "something fluffy, like swirls or whatever design works". My son loves frosting and it's for his birthday. I feel generous in giving two stars. The only reason there are any stars in this rating is because the cupcakes taste good. You likely can't go wrong with the taste of Ida's cupcakes. However I received 3 dozen yellow frosted cupcakes with black sprinkles and a flat frosted yellow cake with black writing. No frosting details. (I am not picky but I could have done better myself and I am not good at frosting cakes) As I said to the staff while making my order, some people don't want to eat colored frosting. That's why I was specific about white frosting! I paid well over $100 for treats that will likely come back home with us because not as many adults will want to have yellow dyed teeth at the end of our party. I do not recommend any custom orders from Ida's. read more

The cupcakes at Ida's Cafe were the best I've ever tasted! The service was very pleasant and efficient and the prices were fair. I enjoyed the large variety of options. for cake and frosting flavors. Wish we had an Ida's in Tacoma! read more

Terrible customer service, cupcakes are no better than what comes from a boxed Betty Crocker cake. Frosting is absolutely disgusting - way way way to sweet, (and I normally like extra sweet stuff) I am not sure why everyone says the cupcakes are so good, they must not have been to really good bakeries before! And the coffee- what a joke! They advertise espresso beverages but don't actually own a real espresso machine, either know what your doing or just don't sell coffee Ida! Good idea you have but work on it a bit, and try to find some people including yourself that are happy to have a job, not seeming put out. But perhaps when you have an owner with a bad attitude this attitude spills to your employees. read more
