Knocking off a star from my last review. We love the idea of hanging out at night and having dessert. Most places are closed early in Central Jersey and since we also love Mango Mango in NYC, this is a welcome addition to the area. Unfortunately, the service here is still lacking. They've been open for half a year now and I would have thought they've worked out the kinks by now. We ordered: - 2 of the mango/sago/ice cream desserts, -green tea mille cake combo which comes with 2 pots of tea -waffle with fruit and ice cream. The desserts were good but their timing was just terrible. They brought out 2 desserts first and didn't bring out the other 2 until much later. They didn't bring out the 2 pots of tea until the end after the green tea mille cake was almost finished. They admitted that they forgot until I reminded them. The desserts were good but portion sizes were small. The green tea mille crepe cake is about half the height of the ones served at Lady M in NYC and Prince Tea House in Brooklyn but the price is about the same. Although the tea was from a teabag (yeah, really!), it was surprisingly fragrant. There aren't enough staff working in the kitchen to handle all of the orders at the same time. The staff working as servers aren't the friendliest either and they don't seem to care much. read more

The Asian foodie invasion continues, with one of my favorite dessert spots opening up in town. Literally everything, including the namesake, is worth trying. I typically go for anything and anything matcha. They count as green eating, right? Only major concern, like many of its counterparts, is the huge wait on weekends. Keep yourself busy with conversation, and pick up a menu while you're at it! read more

I absolutely love the snow white mango juice with sago, mango, pomelo, and ice cream. It is a good mix of mango with the creaminess of the coconut milk and the sago gives it a nice chewiness. The mango ice cream on top balances the delicious, cold, liquid on the top. A mango chunk with the ice cream, coconut, and sago is the perfect bite. I do with that the mango piece wasn't as frozen. The mango layer cake from there is decent, but not my favorite. read more

The waiter rather spend time to chat with some customers in their table loudly than look around to see if other tables need service. Our first time coming here and we will definitely be back to sample more of the items. We were greeted upon arrival and sat down immediately. My brother and I shared the mango shaved ice which our server did explain this was enough to share between three people. She was right, as me and my brother were able to finish a lot of it but we still had some left. The mango pieces were fresh, the mango ice cream was tasty and the shaved ice was very refreshing. We kept wondering how much the shaved ice had filled us. My mother had the mango strawberry juice sago, lychee jelly, mangos, with mango ice cream. My mother really enjoyed her dessert and we tried it as well. My stepfather had the vanilla strawberry sundae with chocolate syrup. His is the only we didn't try but he was satisfied. I am going to give this place a five stars as the service was fast and polite especially since this place was busy on a Saturday night. The ambiance and decor was cute and the place was clean. One thing my brother pointed out to me from reading the website is that they get their mangoes from Brazil which was impressive. I've been to multiple mango mango locations in other cities and while the food at this location is great and consistent quality like others, this location pales in comparison to all the other ones I've tried. The biggest issue is the customer experience. I've come twice now a year a part and the ordering/sit down process is extremely confusing and slow. This location only ever has one person working the front. Last time we came we were told we needed to sit down to order, and even though we were ready to order immediately we had to wait for a waiter for 10+ minutes to take our order. This time (a year later now) was the same confusing experience and I saw many people placing their order at the register and then sitting down, or people who were already sitting being confused when they're order was going to be taken. Often the only waiter disappears for quite some time which makes the experience even more confusing. read more

We ordered mango with ice cream and glutinous rice balls and ice cream (A6 in their Menu) and their famous sliced green tea mille crepe cake. The mango on A6 is fresh, not frozen. The mango ice cream taste real mango and the glutinous rice balls, so soft and chewy. The green tea crepe cake is heavenly delicious. Every bite melts in your mouth. I'm impressed with their ambiance in modern times. Very clean place and the staff are well versed and knowledgeable with their menu and it's ingredients. Clean upgraded separate Men's (no changing table) and Women's bathroom. Quiet place to bring your loved ones here. They have take out order, too. I will definitely make this as my number one dessert hang out, bookmark it! Sad to say, Mango Mango has a minimum for credit card payment, $20, minimum order before tip. It wasn't that easy to find this place but the best way to describe the location - "Go to HMART and it will be on the left side where all the other shops and restaurants are....next to Kung Fu Tea" Some tips: - they have booths and regular seating including service...15-20 people I would guess to be the max - the menu is pretty big and can be ordered by giving them a number - IF YOU LOVE MANGOS GO HERE Why 3 stars? Came across this place when visiting a friend in Edison. Located in a strip mall sort of complex that is surrounded by variety of asian stores. The serve variety of desserts that are made of mango. You might find couple of non-mango choices as well. The ambience of the place is good but the service is terrible. Atleast my experience wasnt good. We werent attended by when they were 2 waitress, had to call them to get a table. We have asked for water twice and yet it was not provided until called for the 3rd time. They include default tip in the bill which is fine but they have a tip column again when you sign the bill, which could be deceiving for some people. Its almost a fraud. I'm so mad I waited so long to come here!! Lots of variety on the menu and a really cute interior, however it's not a good spot if you can't eat dairy as most of the items contain dairy. I tried the mango platter which was great for sampling options. It came with a mango sesame mochi, mango ice cream with coconut jellies, and the mango purée with mochi and fresh mango. In my opinion the fresh mango was the best part! So juicy and sweet. My companion got the warm almond paste soup with sesame mochi which was also quite good. This is a really nice asian dessert place. The variety of options makes for a really tough decision! The range of choices include healthy options like fruit, to interesting options with an Asian flair. We really enjoyed both the items we ordered and we will definitely be back to try more! Mango Mango is my favorite dessert place. If you can get past the funny smell that always pervades the restaurant and the poor customer service, Mango Mango is for you. I've heard a lot of hype surrounding Mango Mango and checked out this location a couple times now. As soon as you walk in, you notice the large white couches as seats for the tables and overall clean, bright atmosphere. On my first trip, I decided to share the triple ice cream with a friend, which came with mango, matcha, and vanilla ice cream topped with two chocolate swirled wafers. I thought the ice cream flavors were tasty, but after a few bites in, I noticed I was biting into a lot of ice. On my second trip, I shared the mango mochi which was perfectly chewy, not overly sweet, and came with a surprise mango chunk on the inside. We also ordered a green tea crepe but was given some sort of green tea roll that wasn't very good at all. I've ordered this before at another location and what we received definitely did not look or taste anything like what was expected. Overall, I would probably only come here again if friends wanted to go due to the close proximity to Rutgers' campus. Prices are a little expensive, but there are a couple desserts that are good for sharing, making the price somewhat reasonable. read more

This is probably one of my favorite dessert places. Although the name Mango Mango implies that they only serve mango, it is not the case. Another fruit that is popular here is the durian. If you decide to order durian as your dessert, make sure the rest of your party do not mind sitting next to you as you eat it. Not going to lie, the smell lingers around you. My favorite desserts here are the ones that include black rice, sago, red bean, taro, herbal jelly, mocha balls, rice balls, snow fungus with almond or coconut juice. Their photographic menu helps you choose out of many of the cold or hot desserts available. My kiddo always goes for the ice cream. Other worthy items are their mille crepes and drinks. I've been to several mango mango chains and this place was consistent with what I'm used to. Get the mango pomelo sago. It's delicious!! Parking might be a pain, but I went during a weekday and was able to snag a spot right out front as another call was pulling out. 5-star drink, 2-star service. When shopping at Hmart, I noticed yet another cool addition the this shopping center - Mango Mango! I've heard so much about you and saw you in passing in Chinatown NYC but never quite had the chance to stop in. Opening weekend meant deals like BOGO on five of their iconic mango desserts. To start, it's a beautifully renovated dessert spot. Nice couches, seating areas, bright lighting; def a cool place to drink some mango goodness and hang out with friends (as many had today). Now, considering that there isn't anything like this place without making the trek to the city (NYC/Flushing/Bklyn/C-town), everyone was curious to try and the lines were long with an overwhelmed staff. Now, it didn't seem like everyone who worked there was bad but the lady who helped us tried turning us off by saying it's going to take 30 minutes for take out (don't forget if you wanna dine in, you gotta wait for that too) and was not being super welcoming despite *just* opening. That being said, it didn't take nearly that long and at least there was good waiting areas with couches. I got my BOGO Snow Mango drinks (the classic, just mango) and made my way out. It is incredible. Words cannot describe how amazing mango + slush + jelly is. Also mango sweetness wasn't overdone and you know you're getting the real stuff when you get some mango vein strands in there. I'm very curious to try their other Chinese desserts like their sweet soups, drinks, mille cakes (green tea, mango, etc). But today was certainly not the day. Have been meaning to try this place for a while. Appearance from outside is kind of like Spot Dessert, but their menu is NOTHING like it. A lot of different smoothies, shakes, and cold desserts. The durian dessert bowl was nothing short of surprisingly good. I could smell the durian from our window seat. It was glorious! The dessert had a combination of fresh durian, banana, durian ice cream, grass jelly and basil seeds. Would never imagine that those would be great but it was mind-blowingly good. Definitely will go back to have a bowl to myself. The black sesame was pretty good as well. Wish it was a little thicker and sweeter. The peanut mochi ball inside was yum! Super chewy and peanuts were chopped very fine. Overall, super cute spot. What a great addition to the Edison area. Good option for something more unique than ice cream or gelato. I will be back!! We waited about 15 min for a table and although it took us only a little while to decide on our order it took a little while for someone to take the order. They Did start to get really busy shortly after we arrived . Now keep in mind it's in the name so if you don't like mangos this may not be your spot. They do have a few alternatives that don't have mango . We decided to got with A6 and I forget the number of the other one. Also we each had a tea. I had rose tea and my sister had the mango green tea which was delicious. You definitely need to time this right if you don't want to wait long. But it's definitely worth trying. read more

Came here for the first time, and right as I walked in, it smelled like durian. Of course, I had to try a durian dessert, and I also tried their signature mango dessert. The durian dessert was very peculiar. If you've never had durian before, be cautious of this one. If you like trying new things or like the taste of durian, go for it! So happy I found and was able to try out this place! Was so excited when I saw the menu and seeing all the desserts that took me back to China and my time in Beijing. Once you open the door there's a slight aroma of durian in the air, which I don't mind, but just in case for people that don't like durian I guess would be good to know. We went Saturday night after 7pm and it was crowded, luckily we got seated fast, but for large groups might be some waiting time. We ordered Earl grey lavender tea(didn't taste the lavender), brown sugar kumquat tea(too sweet), green tea mille crepe(our favorite!)and strawberry/banana/nutella waffle with mango ice cream (loved the whole combination) Definitely would recommend this place and would like to come back :) read more

I pretty much only go to this place for the taro and sweet potato balls. It's so good! Reminds me of Taiwanese desserts! It's honestly a bit pricey for what you get. A small portion for $6+.
