I drive by this place quite a bit, so i finally decided to stop in and give it a try. Although the atmosphere and service were fine, the food itself was lacking. I got the Ichiro Ramen which was an enormous serving with thick noodles and thick broth, but was very lacking in depth of flavor in both the broth and the Chashu. My wife got the gyudon which was about average. The Karaage and shrimp were fine, but nothing to write home about. Maybe some of the other ramen dishes have more flavor, but the Ichiro Ramen was disappointing for me.
I love this ramen restaurant, especially since it's so close to my fav study spot. The ramen is reasonably priced, and my tonkotsu black was delicious. It was enough to feed 2 people. We also ordered an extra egg. Service was attentive. Interior is spacious with wooden booths. Never any complaints when I come here
So glad to see Ichiro Sapporo Ramen landed at Bellaire Food Street I. The ramen noodles are always cooked to perfection. I tried Tan Tan Ramen today. I was warned by the menu as this is a spicy dish. So, I ordered an unsweetened tea. It is from soda fountain, which means there is no tartness from the real tea. It was actually a good thing to calm my tummy if the ramen got too spicy. The soup is balanced with hot oil and bone broth. Not overly pungent like the Sichuan peppercorn I was expecting. There were plenty of minced pork in this Tan Tan Ramen. Employees were friendly and knowledgeable. I like the decorations as so festive to be added to my fun dining experience.
The place looks OK Service wasn't good We came in at lunch with only 1 table of 2 guests then later a couple more came Once food was served , we couldn't find any waiters to ask for things while they had 3 servers in house. Food was extremely salty. I barely ate 1/3 of my ramen bowl. The curry rice was also very salty. Don't know why the cook put way too much salt in them. Unfortunately it will be a no coming back on side.
Super creamy ramen that isn't too salty! I got the tsukemen and my family got the tonkatsu ramen, the ichiro ramen, the fried squid and takoyaki. I thought that the tonkatsu was my favorite out of all of them because it was creamy but not too rich. I think that the tsukemen broth was a bit more one the bland side (it tasted more like regular broth) when it should be more flavorful since it is a dipping ramen.

However I thought the noodles were over cooked (i prefer more al dente noodles). My husbands tsukemen was good as well, and I liked that his noodles were thicker and cooked perfectly, and not soggy bc they weren't sitting in the dipping broth. The dipping broth had a nice dashi flavor, which I really liked. The karaage was decent, but nothing extraordinary for a fried chicken. When deciding what to order, I kept going back and forth between shio and vegetarian broth. When I asked the server what's in the vegetarian broth, he obviously had no idea either. His answer was "it's a packet we open and add water to it." Um, that is not helpful at all! That's how I decided on the shio broth since at least the menu stated it was made of chicken broth. Overall I enjoyed the food, but definitely did not enjoy the severe thirst afterwards. Dine at your own risk!
This place was not up to par with the cleanliness the dining area seemed lightly cleaned. The food seemed a bit off, we ordered the ragoons and sweet/spicy chicken wings for starters...well the food came out suspiciously fast but yet was not pipping hot as if it was fresh off the grill or fryer. The wings were clearly older meat that had a rancid smell to them and they were hard to the touch with a darker brown coating as if they were recooked from a previous order. When I brought this to the attention of my server she did politely remove the item but the kitchen staff in the back seemed very immature about the ordeal as if we were complaining for no valid reason. The service however was really receptive and I appreciated how tentative our server was for our requests.
Place was very dead for a saturday evening in Bellaire, I was kind of shocked. Food here is decent but nothing amazing in my opinion. Compared to the plentiful other ramen shops in town, there's a lot of competition. The broth of the Spicy Miso ramen, tonkatsu ramen, and braised beef brisket ramen had a very lackluster taste. Not very rich in flavor, not very spicy at all for the spicy miso. Leaving our group in a solid 2.5, 3/5 rating. For the price you can get a order of takoyaki, gyoza, karaage for about $~4.50 more which is a abundant amount of food that'll leave you filled. I personally got a bit sick of the taste and couldn't finish it Service was great, very friendly server. For a saturday evening it looked like there was only 1 server managing the shop. I've passed by this place so many times, but always on the way to somewhere else. Mistake rectified today! Everything was good, crispy without being oily and all the filling was well seasoned with that perfect bite of spice. The server was so nice and patient, gave us more than enough time to ransack the menu, and the interior is open and heavily illustrated without feeling cluttered, definitely a solid hangout spot. Everyone enjoyed their ramen down to the last noodle; I always go for black garlic whenever possible and was not disappointed. The service was quick and efficient. Whole dining experience took about 45 minutes. The staff were on top of everything and very kind. The ramen was amazing - I had the spicy miso w/ pork and it was 10/10. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious ramen. read more

Order a Tonkotsu to go, it was delicious and not that expensive like I thought. The customer service was really nice . They also have anime on the TV while you wait for the ramen and good music. read more

Service was really good however the ramen was a bit disappointing. Do not get the Tom yum ramen. It did not taste like Tom yum to me and had a weird plastic taste to it. I was ready to just leave and not finish my meal but the waiter could tell I didn't like it and offered to switch it to something else. The other ramen I got was much better but still not a ramen I would want to get again. The egg in the ramen was also really cold and there wasn't much meat that came with it . read more

The service was lovely, we had the greeter who helped keep us well hydrated and any other items we needed, and then I assume the chef who came and took our food order. The restaurant is smallish and is actually "partnered" with PappaRich next door, so they are the same restaurant I assume with 2 different menus and kitchens. We really enjoyed the atmosphere. read more
Neatly tucked in the corner of Bellaire Food Street, Ichiro Sapporo is the new hot spot for ramen in Chinatown! I highly recommend the Tonkotsu Kuro. It is a twist on the traditional pork broth ramen. It comes with a delicious black garlic oil. Absolutely full of flavor. I also recommend the takoyaki. It is perfectly crispy with a soft interior of diced octopus. I can't recommend these items enough. Overall, I highly recommend this spot if you are craving a delicious bowl of ramen. The food is excellent and the service is great. I will definitely be back again! read more

Black Garlic Ramen 10/10. It was filling and perfect amount of noodles. I got the combo with octopus balls and those were 10/10 highly recommended as well! It was a quick in and out meal. The 3 of us were in and out in less than an hour. We all ordered the combo (got one of each of the side options). Their version of the boneless chicken is amazing with the dipping sauce! read more

My boyfriend and I came here during their soft opening last month to try out their food. When we came in we were greeted by 2 gentleman who let us pick where we wanted to sit. We picked a back room booth next to the kitchen. For appetizers we ordered kroquettes to start and I ordered the tom yum ramen. Our food came out fairly quick, within 10 minutes and both men continueously stopped by to check on us, even refilling our water cups three times (which was very nice). The place was fairly empty but it was just before dinner and after lunch time so I was glad It wasnt crowded during these covid times. The food was delicious but very salty. Even my boyfriend said his ramen was salty and he ordered the spicy miso. The texture of the noodles were perfect in the ramen and I enjoyed the kroquettes which were so soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. I think this is a good place to get food but I would hope that their food is not so salty the next time. They didnt have a dessert menu displayed but the waiter said they had some desserts. I opted out as I wanted to get something else but we appreciated the suggestions. Its a good place for a quick meal or a social occasion for groups of 3-5 people. I think more than 6 is really crowded. Pricing was fair and competitive to most places. I think fairly average compared to Jinya Ramen and other places I've been too. Definitely worth another try! I hope they keep their business and that they grow! read more

This place is great for small parties. The table we were seated at was a bit wobbly. The ramen I got had a nice broth and the spicy flavor may seem enough for some. (I prefer it to make me sweat and cry) The egg was perfect soft and the chashu was tender. This piping hot ramen was just what I needed for the cold weather. Price was decent for the size. read more
Wanted to try a new ramen place and stumbled onto this one. The murals on the walls are nice and the service was ok. We had the edamame to share, just a little bit salted so it was good. I ordered the Shoyu (chicken broth) and I wanted the sous vide chicken with it but I forgot to tell them so I was automatically given chasu instead of giving me options for my protein. Just a little bit disappointing. But the broth is good, not overpowering and the noodles were cooked perfectly. Also, don't get the iced tea. I can't describe how it taste, more of a combination of powdered tea and like gold peak iced tea. read more
Ichiro ramen (tonkatsu ramen with extra of meats): it was tasty. Thick broth. Delicious. My husband said he would have liked it with more flavor. Spicy seafood ramen: pretty yummy, good portions, and the seafood was still tender and not over cooked. It wasn't too spicy and they didn't skimp on the seafood. Visited Ichiro Sapporo Ramen for the first time on 07-01-23 and maaaaan...DELICIOUS! I had the Tan Tan Ramen. The flavor was out of this world! I asked for some garlic and chili paste with oil to kick it up a notch. That just pushed it over the top! Service was great and so was the atmosphere. The waitress recommended I try the Spicy Miso next time. I WILL be back! read more

My cousins and I dined at Ichiro a couple of weeks back, as we were craving for Ramen but did not want to drive to Midtown. Ichiro is the new ramen place in the new Bellaire Food Street complex - so I thought to give it a chance! When we arrived, the restaurant was pretty empty. However, the venue quickly filled up afterwards. The decor was pretty standard for the complex - modern, hip, and trendy. For the food, we ordered the Croquette and chicken karaage to share as appetizers, and my cousins ordered the Tonkotsu's while I had the Tsukemen. We were afraid that the broth would be salty based on previous reviews on Yelp. But to our surprise, the Tonkotsu broth was actually the least salty when compared with Jinya or Tatsu-ya - maybe the chef/management took the Yelp reviews to heart and altered their salt level? My cousins prefer less salty broth, so this definitely helped. But otherwise, they were NOT happy with the noodle - the texture and shape were surely similar to the packaged ramyeon instead (the horror! ). The chasiu was forgettable, and the egg was not consistent (2 of us had perfectly runny yolks, while the other 2 had overdone yolks). The black garlic added some depth to the Tonkotsu broth, so we would highly recommend to add that! As for myself, I had the Tsukemen - which is the dipping noodle. The broth was definitely saltier than the Tonkotsu (expected). However, with the cold noodle, you would hope the bowl of broth to be piping hot - but it was very lukewarm. I ended up having to request the waitstaff if they could ask the kitchen to reheat the broth and maybe also the noodle as well. They could only reheat the broth as the noodle is supposed to be served cold, which was dine. Being able to dip the noodle in actually hot soup made a big difference! Though I don't think I would order this again at Ichiro based on the topping and egg quality. Otherwise, I think the appetizers were greatly enjoyable! The croquettes were crunchy yet packed with mushy mashed potato - lovely! The chicken karaage was crispy and piping hot. I'd highly recommend these 2 appetizers! read more
The place wasn't very busy compared to the other restaurants in the same shopping center so we were seated right away. Not alot to choose from if you don't want ramen but the ramen choices were good. The appetizers were good and came out quickly. Didn't care for the cold ramen soup base...had a weird flavor but the spicy ramen was good. read more

Service was decent, but the ramen was borderline awful. It's plated beautifully, but that's all it has going for it. I ordered the Ichiro Ramen which was a tonkotsu broth base, with extra cha siu, extra chopped cha siu, bean sprouts, and extra thick noodles. The noodles were a good size. However, the entire bowl of ramen was the blandest ramen I have ever had the misfortune of tasting. The broth, while thick, lacked flavor (think essence of tonkotsu, like La Croix or fruit infused water). The cha siu was slightly overcooked so it was a bit dry. I don't mind the dryness IF it was seasoned. Not sure how they cooked it but it was pretty much tasteless, equivalent to putting unseasoned pork onto a propane grill. I did like the karaage though. Juicy and tender inside, fresh and piping hot. One thing I do suggest is that the crust could use slightly more crunch or batter. For a restaurant that specializes in ramen, I hope they improve on the flavor of...well everything that goes into a bowl of ramen. read more
I read the reviews before coming here and people either loved it or hated it. I had the same issue some other Yelpers had with the noodles. They were super stiff and too chewy. When I was stirring them in the broth, I found several just clumped together. So I'm assuming they were overcooked. Noodles aside, the service was very good, and the broth was also great. I got the tan tan ramen so it had some spicy and heat to it and I enjoyed it a lot - almost drank the whole thing. But a good ramen needs both noodles and broth and half my experience wasn't up to par...disappointing. read more

This is not as good as ramen in LA, but I think it's the best ramen in Houston. It's also really reasonably priced at $10/bowl! The potato croquette was delicious. It was perfectly fried and hot. The plum sauce was a great complement. I got the black garlic oil ramen and it's very flavorful - it's a heavier, more robust ramen and SO good. If you want something lighter, my husband got the shoyu ramen and he loved it. We'll definitely be back. This will probably be our go-to ramen place. read more

The apps are pretty good but the ramen is tasteless. I did try to dress it up with sauce and stuff but overall it's not something i could enjoy all though it looks great. It's not a place i would go back too. read more

I came during their soft opening and have absolutely fallen in love with this place. The service here was exceptionally good as they were incredibly nice and always checked up to see if I needed anything. They even provided recommendations and helpful tips about the food which I was very happy with. I ordered the spicy miso ramen and it tasted absolutely delicious. Noodles were nice and bouncy while also having nice flavor. The broth was also very flavorful and quite nice. The pork meat was also very tender and delicious. Definitely one of the better ramen restaurants in Houston. I'll be returning again soon to try out even more items next time! read more

Not bad but was honestly hoping for something a little better. The service was good so that's a plus. I got their special charsiu ramen and it was LOADED with meat. That was great. However, the broth itself was way too heavy and I felt like the oil was sticking to my mouth afterwards. A good ramen is all about the broth so while I appreciate all the meat that it came with, the soup itself really takes the whole thing down a notch or two. If they can fix that, the ramen would be so much better. Also, the price of the ramen here is definitely higher than other places. Not sure if there's any reason to justify charging $15 for their ramen, it wasn't spectacular by any stretch of the imagination. read more
