We were looking for dinner on a Sunday evening near the Downtown Miami/Midtown area and saw Ichimi come up in my search results and food and reviews looked really good and we wanted to check it out! Ichimi is located in the Shops at Midtown Miami (near the Homegoods). I would recommend parking in the Shops at Midtown Garage (near Target), take the elevator down and you're about a block or two from Ichimi. When you enter Ichimi you are greeted by a server and shown to your table, we didn't have to wait for a table but we also arrived around 7 PM and it started getting a little busier the longer we were there. We ordered a bottle of wine to start for $32. The bottles of wine weren't any more than $45. They also had non-alcoholic drink options along with beer and sake. For appetizers, we ordered edamame ($8.50) and Gyoza ($9.95). All appetizers came up really quick and were fresh and flavorful, and plenty for two people to share. For entrees, we ordered the Ichimi Ramen with Pork ($16.50) and the ramen was very flavorful and fresh and a really great quality! Food and service were all outstanding and we were very happy with our meal! We look forward to returning the next time we are in the area.

I've been meaning to try this place for a while and I'm glad I finally did. The space is comfortable but nothing fancy. Service is quick and friendly. The menu is pretty straightforward but there's a lot of options to customize your ramen if you want to make changes. I chose to start with the wakame which was fresh and delicious. The spicy miso ramen was excellent. It was more of the spice flavor than actually spice but good nonetheless. I probably would try a different protein than the wontons next time but they were still good. I thought that the broth overall had less of a salty flavor than other ramen places without losing a rich flavor. The portion size was perfect. I would definitely come back here again for another meal.

This restaurant does not serve traditional Japanese-style ramen. The dishes lean more toward Chinese-style mian, both in preparation and flavor profile. For those specifically seeking authentic Japanese ramen, I would recommend Ramen Lab Eatery.

This location I liked better than the one at the Gables when it comes to flavor or taste of the ramen which is what I went there for. However the service was not that great. Two young women who barely checked on our table and had to get their attention to ask for things we needed and it was only two tables they had to tend to. The kitchen was fast but the servers weren't attentive at all.

I walked in in the middle of the day on a Saturday after getting a craving for ramen. I'd ordered delivery from this place about a year ago and while I recall it being fine it wasn't spectacular; I decided to dine-in before reviewing. I'm glad I did, because the delivery order from a while ago definitely didn't do Ichimi justice. The ambiance was low-key, cool and dim inside which was nice after having been walking around outdoors. I got the spicy miso ramen with the Japanese noodles and chasu pork, and added chili oil. The food was great, the staff were attentive, and I spend less than $20 (excl. tip). Would absolutely recommend.

The food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the veggie gyoza. Sometimes you can get a very thick skin when folks aren't preparing them authentically... These were absolutely perfect. The veggie Ramen was absolutely delicious, loved every single flavor they put in there, wouldn't change a thing. The brisket bow was good. I feel like the meat could've been more tender to retain some of that natural moisture, but I was so hungry I ate and enjoyed. The service is good - patient, knowledgeable staff. Unfortunately, 3 stars because we saw a mouse as we were eating and decided it was time to leave. Mind you, they are doing some construction in the space so perhaps it came through the door when it was propped open, but no one wants to see that while they're eating. It crawled right by our table and hid under some boxes. Hopefully, once the construction finishes they can handle this and it doesn't become a problem.

Edamame was okay. Wasn't expecting the pork belly bao to have no fat in the pork belly -- meat only made the meat piece really dry so not tasty at all. The chicken fried rice and ramen bowls were flavorful, but slightly on the salty side. Homemade noodles were good.

The beer was excellent, although it was served warm. It cost $10 for a good pilsner.

Nothing better than ramen on a cold day. It was our first time at Ichimi and the food and service were great. I had the spicy miso ramen and my boyfriend had the Ichimi ramen. Both were excellent. The spicy ramen was the perfect amount of spice. We also had the hot sale which was good as well. The food came out quickly. The one star removed was solely because the place could use a bit of updating in the upholstery of their booths. Other than that - it was a very good ramen experience.

Was so surprised to learn that we enjoyed all our orders. I was skeptical that all ramen would taste the same Broths were perfect just right amount of saltiness and not overwhelming rich like some other Ramen places that we had eaten at. We went for happy hour which is until 7 PM. I like the separation dividers between the booths that go to the ceiling. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We tried the Sparking Sake and it was light, crisp and slight hint of fruit, a must try. I will be buying some for home. The pork and shrimp dumpings were delicious. I would never have thought that brisket would be served on bao. So good, we did repeat orders. The Pork Belly Bao really good. We also tried the Kraken Bao which was okay. The crab cake was okay, but not to write home about. I tried Mochi Chocolate Ice Cream and it was amazing. I gave the restaurant a 4 stars because they messed up our check and ruined what had been a celebration of a new job. We had paid and tipped because we had a wonderful time. We are outside saying our goodbyes and the waiter comes flying our yelling that he messed up out checks and he needed our cards to rerun the transaction. We offered to pay the difference on the bill because our parking times were expiring. He refused. We stood outside sweating while waiting on him to resolve the situation. I will try the one in Coral Gables and see if it is better. read more

To my surprise the shrimp bao to start was very light and crispy despite the frying. Full of flavor from the pickled veggies and sauce. The spicy miso ramen that I optioned with Shrimp was a flavor explosion. Thick broth just brimming with that satisfying umami flavor and great texture. The eggs were also cooked to perfection with runny yolks. Very satisfying and hit the spot. This is a must for Ramen lovers. read more

Yum! We were shopping around the area when we realized how long we've been out and needed to grab something to eat. Midtown has a lot of walkable food destinations but we were craving ramen, so decided to give Ichimi a try. We were greeted right away and due to COVID and social distancing/limited capacity, we only had the option to sit outside right away for wait for a table inside. We sat outside and were attended to quickly. The waiter was super knowledgeable and gave great recommendations! I got the curry ramen which was so tasty! I would order that again. They have a lot of options which was great! We will definitely be back! read more

Okay, Ichimi MIA, y'all are clutch and definitely deserve a seat as one of Miami's best ramen shops. It's a well-designed, modern and clean ramen shop nestled in trendy Midtown. Broth? Hot, rich, delicious and well crafted. I couldn't stop sipping my broth! Noodles? Skip the egg noodles and get the thin traditional noodles. Trust me, I'm a thick noodle person as well, but the thin noodles here are the way to go. Ugh. They were so good. My mouth is watering as I type this review. Egg? Perfect. Chashu? I've had better, but it wasn't bad. Still had a tasty kick. I've been here a few times now, and my experience continues to stay consistent. I'm a huge Black Garlic person, so my go-to order is Black Dragon Ramen. Overall, I would recommend Ichimi to your list, if you haven't been here. Go, go and go! read more

Love this place, especially for lunch! They have a great lunch deal, two sides and a ramen or other main dish for about $15. I like the Ichimi pork ramen. It's super flavorful & I love the noodles. The service here is SUPER fast & kind! I'm always in and out really quickly and of course super happy with my food. I've been for dinner too and the food is just as good! Highly recommend. We were seated quickly without a reservation on a weeknight. The appetizers seem a bit overpriced, but the ramen was truly fantastic. Great noodles (got the thin ones that were recommended on the menu), flavorful rich creamy broth, chashu was well seasoned and tender, and the toppings were also great. The portion and price were great. The food was promptly brought out, but it took a while for the waiter to come back and give us the check. Comfortable interior and seating. read more

Wanna know the best ramen place in Miami? This place right here is hands down my spot for curry ramen. Ughhh on a cold day (I know it's hard to believe for Miami) this place is my heart and soulllll. Y'all won't be disappointed.the price isn't bad and you can find parking in the big garage by target! I love their soft and just right to chew pork and cooked to perfection egg.ahhh my tummy is getting hungry as I think about it. I would always go to their Coral Gables location but decided to come to this location with my family because they offered reservation. It is definitely bigger and has more tables than their Coral Gables location and not too packed. Customer service was great. Our waiter always checked up on us and came to us right away when we were looking for him. The food was great. I believe it is better than their Coral Gables location. Although we came here to have ramen, I believe the star dish was their Crispy Pig Ears. It was cooked perfectly and addicting to eat. We enjoyed it with our beers. I would definitely recommend it. The ramen was well balanced. Very tasty and the broth was not salty, which is usually a problem with other ramen shops. We had a great experience overall! read more

My wife and I visited Ichimi for dinner over the weekend and had a nice experience. We started with a couple of appetizers: the Shrimp Bao and Pork Gyoza. The bao buns were soft and filled with meaty tender shrimp with a perfectly crisp breading, shredded tender crab and creamy aioli. The gyozas were soft savory dumplings filled with flavorful pork and paired with a soy sauce for dipping. I had the Spicy Miso Ramen as my main course. Flavorful lightly spicy broth was filled with thin soft savory noodles, tender pork, crisp bamboo shoots, yolky soft-boiled eggs and crisp scallions. Overall, Ichimi serves good quality Japanese appetizers and ramen. read more

Ramen fans, unite! Ichimi is a great modern spot in midtown with lots of options. Quick and attentive service is a bonus. Lots of parking in the area. We started with the gyoza and crispy pig ear... I did not try the pig ear but I will say it's a large serving which is great for pig ear lovers. The gyoza was delicious! I ordered the #2 and was sent to ramen heaven. So the service was good...the restaurant it was slow so she kept on checking on me and It was clean but I did not enjoy my meal it had a weird smell from the bowl and and my stomach just couldn't deal with it so I didn't eat most of it the shrimp was pretty good and so was the sake but the spicy ramen was not good at all I was still hungry but I didn't want to try anything else and ended up eating somewhere else I'm really disappointed because I had high hopes I love ramen so I had high expectations but if you go there hopefully it's a better experience for you but this was a one time visit for me personally read more

I love Ichimi's food and the ambiance. Unfortunately, they have a problem with fleas. The server thought it was mosquitoes but considering they let dogs in and I was wearing closed toed shoes (no socks) only fleas could do this damage. Good spot but either wear long pants or be careful. read more

This place is worth the hype because the food was so yummy! My only disappointment and the reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because not all the menu items were available. We went on Thursday and they only had ice cream available for dessert. And the Salmon rice bowl also was only available on weekends. Everything we ate was delicious and had an awesome flavor. We don't eat pork and I like that we were able to sub the broth for a veggie broth. The waiters were also attentive. I'm just sad we couldn't try the puppy ice cream. read more

Ordered the spicy miso ramen with pork, and the pork belly bao. Wow, did this not disappoint. I added some chili oil (at the table) and asked for some soy sauce- this definitely hit the spot. Ask for soy sauce- it's way better than your off the shelf stuff, and definitely adds a nice umami to the ramen. Service was good, food came out pretty quick. The place was nice, but they seem to be under construction or restocking or something; there were boxes of stuff and some construction materials strewn throughout. Only knocking off one star due to the slight mess detracting from the vibe. read more

My friends and I grabbed dinner here. They offered one vegan and soy-free ramen noodle. I grabbed that order and was content w/ the freshness of the ingredients, how quickly they prepared the dish (in under 5minutes), the subtle aesthetics of the restaurant. Their service was pretty good, i wish they had more vegan options but it's a nice spot to dine out when you're in the midtown Miami area. read more

Ichimi was disappointing. My threshold for good Asian food in Miami is low, but the food here was still disappointing nonetheless. I got the lunch special with spicy miso ramen, pork gyoza, and crab salad. The pork gyoza was sweet and more on the soggy than crispy side. The spicy miso ramen was where it was most disappointing. It looks good, but the broth is not spicy and not very flavourful. I would keep taking sips of the broth expecting another flavour profile, only to be let down again. I'm glad other reviewers liked Ichimi though, it's just not for me. read more

And the restaurant had maybe 8 people total inside. The server, a girl with long dyed red hair, started off polite but quickly became dismissive. I clearly explained that I am allergic to spicy food and asked for anything spicy on the side. Dishes kept arriving spicy anyway. Because of this, I could barely eat. My nose became completely blocked and I even started speaking differently from the reaction. Food also kept coming out wrong and very slowly. Eventually we left hungry and went next door to eat because it was impossible to get consistent service or correct dishes. At the end, instead of apologizing, the server commented that we seemed to be having fun and were even talking funny. It felt mocking, disrespectful, and unprofessional, especially considering I was reacting to the spicy food I had specifically asked to avoid. Between the lack of basic inventory at the start of the night, the repeated incorrect orders, and the dismissive attitude, this was one of the worst dining experiences I have had. On multiple occasions, we had to wait an excessive amount of time even for basic requests such as water or ginger, as the limited team was focused on managing the bar and multiple tables simultaneously, without enough support to maintain proper service flow. Even more surprising was being told, after approximately an hour and a half, that we needed to leave because other guests were waiting, as their dining experience is limited to about one hour. This policy was not communicated at any point upon arrival. At that point, the experience shifts away from anything resembling fine dining and instead feels closer to very expensive FAST food, high, quality food served under strict time pressure, with little space to actually enjoy the meal. In summary, while the food is exceptional, the combination of high pricing, rushed service, and limited attention makes the overall experience disappointing and, frankly, hard to justify. I went to Ichimi two days ago, and as always, the place didn't disappoint. The food was great, the service was excellent--just like every other visit. What really surprised me this time was their new dessert: wicked ice cream--fried chicken ice cream. When I first heard the name, I immediately said no. I was already full from ramen and sake, and honestly, "fried chicken ice cream" didn't sound appealing at all. But the waiter explained that it's ice cream, not real fried chicken, so I decided to take a risk and try it. OMG. It actually looks like fried chicken--complete with a "bone" (stick), crispy "skin" made from cereal-like coating, and everything. It's wild. You really have to try it yourself to believe it. However, the Japanese curry dish fell short of expectations - lacking flavor and not meeting the anticipated taste profile I was looking for - I was totally deflated and let down by what I was hoping to be a delicious meal. Unfortunately, the ambiance was affected by staff members being on their phones, detracting from an otherwise pleasant dining atmosphere. While the positives were noteworthy, improvements in service could elevate the overall experience along with correct explanation of dishes when asked. Not a good sign if it comes out in fast food times. We ordered the Beef Bao Sandwiches and two Tonkotsu Ramen noodle soups. Soup was not hot temperature-wise. The ramen noodles were hotter than the soup which is kind of an indication they were probably microwaved. Just saying it's weird if the noodles are hotter than the soup. So happy to hear that and I can continue my beautidul tasty journey with Ichimi Ramen. The best thing I love is their Ramen. I am really a big fan of Japanese Ramen and as far as I can tell, they are the best in Miami. I have tried many places who provide ramen and Japanese food here, Ichimi is the best above them all. Just notice Ichimi just opened their second location near downtown. This place has always been my "must try" Japanese ramen place and their taste has no doubt with surprise every time you go there. My favorite is their ichimi pork ramen.Especially the soup is killing it. Another must try is their takoyaki ball. I am living in NYC and we also have many famous good takoyaki ball but I feel theirs is better. Love their new decoration and cleanliness of their store. We had a really bad experience in a place across the street, my wife was in the mood for sushi. The waitress was really nice. I'm not into sushi so i had Japanese shrimp fried rice.
