    Red Mango Crunch Sushi

Nice spot for sushi. The restaurant was not very packed and they did not have TVs available to watch games at bar. Server was nice and frequently came to check on us. Our food was served as it was ready and we got an array of appetizers, sushi rolls and meals.

This place is such a vibe!! The rolls were so delicious, creative, and really different from others that I've tried. The fish gets delivered fresh daily so the quality is top tier. It also came out quickly too. Definitely stop by if you're in the area. I came across this place and immediately fell in love, it has such high quality sushi rolls! Will definitely come back and try more. It is on the pricer side but worth it! Park at the garage and get a validation sticker from the restaurant!

Happy to have a new sushi restaurant in Nashville that is actually good! Unfortunately it is decently pricey, but the fish is fresh and rolls are nicely executed. We had an assortment of rolls and dishes, and would probably get them all again. We started off with some appetizers: lemon calamari, karaage, and fried prawns. All were good but prawns were especially fun in a nice creamy sauce, but karaage was a little unexpected - kind of more a battered chicken nugget, rather than then crispy, craggly Japanese karaage I'm used to at ramen shops. It was still enjoyable but the weakest of the dishes. The appetizer portions were sufficient, but would have appreciated a little more. As for mains: - Angry Fish was one of our favorites with a topping of eel sauce and creamy sauce. Somewhat Americanized with the sauces but we still loved it - Flash Flood was also awesome - great amount of poke on top - Spicy Scallop was basic but had nice big chunks of scallops - Spicy Taste was actually quite hot and fun, a little too spicy for some of us but I liked. It - Red Mango Crunch was good with a generous amount of tempura crunch, mango was not overpowering - Cherry blossom tasted fresh and had a cute presentation - Tuna Tartar was good but a little too sweet for me - Has a few nigiris (hotate, amaebi, walu, ikura) which were all nice a fresh - loved that they served the amaebi (sweet shrimp) with the incredibly crispy fried shrimp heads Appreciated the good service as well! Overall nice new sushi joint, just be prepared as it is more upscale rather than affordable. *If you're looking for a deal, check out their Sake Tuesday happy hour from 4p-9p - 50% off sake bottles (cheapest is $30 after discount) and $10 classic maki (simple rolls, but highly recommend the Spicy Scallop and Spicy Lobster...the Dynamite is also fun if you like fried rolls). All pics are from Sake Tuesday - forgot to photograph our group dinner

It's a beautiful restaurant, I bet it's even prettier at night. We went during lunch, it was empty so we sat in the bar area. We were hungry and it was our first time there, so we wanted to try a bit of everything. I will say the fish was fresh. Certain dishes we liked more than others. We were still hungry afterwards. They didn't have much selection of beer and liquor, hopefully that changes. The food was good. Would I go back again, maybe for a light bite. But nothing stood out to where I'd want to go back anytime soon.

Food was average. Appetizer less than average. Service was good, nice staff. Ambiance, well it's just a restaurant. Absolutely nothing special aboutit. The chairs were uncomfortable, but was there for less than an hour, not a big deal. Well i be back, probably not. Again nothing special.

Disappointed. Do not order from the Chinese menu, the food is awful. Would not recommend at all. I was so excited to try the Sichuan boiled beef and spicy chicken, but unfortunately the flavor was not there. The meal fell flat as a whole and was definitely overpriced. The meats were incredibly thin and you could tell they tried to make up for it by putting a lot of garnishes, but it was unsuccessful. Only redeeming dish was the string beans. Had a group of 6 and they sat us at a 4 person table with two chairs pulled up when there were larger tables nearby.

This was a good experience with top-notch service and really good Japanese food. I did go with my friend who works there (so I had the insight on what was good to order), but we literally ended up ordering half the menu. Our waiter was also super super sweet and friendly. Here's what we got: -Lemon Calamari - 9/10 - Absolutely delectable. Crispy, flavorful, delicious. The jalapeños added a perfect kick and the lemon a bright freshness, while the sauce itself was a perfect creamy touch. -Island Poki - 8.5/10 - This was like a classic seaweed salad (which I love) with fresh pieces of fish. Very fresh tasting and a light start to the meal. -Chicken Karaage - 4/10 - The chicken was grissely, tough, and flavorlessly breaded. Really did not enjoy. -Honey Wasabi Prawns - 7/10 - Not the boldest flavor, but the prawns melted in your mouth as you bit in so I did really enjoy that, and the breading wasn't overwhelming, it was just right. -Fresh Oysters - 8/10 - Super fresh and flavorful. The oysters are cold and fresh and topped with a perfect sauce. -A5 Wagyu Tataki - 11/10 - SO GOOD! You just can't not like Wagyu. It's rich and warm and smooth and melts in the mouth. The pieces are cut to the perfect thickness for a full bite. -Kanpachi Truffle - 10/10 - The fish itself was so fresh but the shining star that made this dish was the truffle oil. The rich flavor the oil gives pairs hand in hand with the freshness of the kanpachi, and it was one of my favorite appetizers. -Red Mango Crunch Roll 11/10 - This was my ABSOLUTE #1 dish of the night. Picture sweetness from the mango, fishiness from the spicy crab and a fresh salmon, creaminess and spice of the spicy mayo and eel sauce, all finished with a heaping mound of tempura crunch. As someone who LOVES sushi rolls that have lots of sauce and lots of texture contrast, this was PERFECTION. -Thai Tai Roll - 8/10 - I normally don't go for tempura rolls, but for some reason this one didn't feel too heavy, and I think the sweet chili sauce really carried a unique flavor that brought out the non-fried notes of the roll. -Bulgogi Ribeye - 7.5/10 - This was the only hot dish we got, and while it isn't traditional bulgogi, the meat was flavorful and umami, and we did really enjoy the warmth and comfort it brought to the meal. -Ichigo Box - 8.5/10 - I highly recommend this just because it forces you to try a bunch of different things, and it is also so SO gorgeous. It comes out in a beautiful compartmentalized box with a bunch of different, really interesting pieces of fish. You get uni, salmon, even baby octopi! There's also flaming salt in the middle which adds some pizazz. -Angry Fish Roll - 4/10 - So mushy. Just overwhelmingly mushy. The actual taste was good, but it needed anything else to mix up the texture. -Spicy Taste Roll - 9/10 - This roll was a lot dryer than the rest, but the minimal sauce didn't mean lack of flavor. The spicy tuna was top-notch, and this is a great roll for those who want something simpler but still good. -Eel Avocado Roll - 3/10 - Not only was this mushy, but it was boring in flavor. Obviously it isn't as interesting compared to the other rolls, but we really didn't think it was worth it. -Green Tea Ice Cream Sandwich - 7.5/10 - This is matcha ice cream in between two super thin waffles lined with dark chocolate. We did like the ice cream and the chocolate, but just wished there was more chocolate and that the waffles were crispier. They were a little soft which made the texture pretty one-dimensional. There are more mind-blowing Japanese restaurants in Nashville, but Ichigo Ichie has some really standout dishes, the food is really good, and I would definitely go again.

We came in on Saturday before heading to broadway st. during our Nashville trip. Sushi rolls were fresh & tasty. Their signature roll selection is unique, lots of variety. Our server was great! They have a full bar that is vibey! It is was really empty on the night that we visited, so if you are looking for that kind of ambiance or hang out, you may not find it here.

Pleasant dinner experience. The presentation was fantastic and service was excellent! My favorite was the wagyu fried rice. Although a little on the pricier side (it was worth it), seems like the perfect place for a special date night.

"Ichigo Ichie" transports diners to enjoy and share a unique opportunity with just its initial visit. The menu includes traditional familiar dishes as starters followed be elevated dishes with modern flares that highlight premium cuts of fishes/flavors that can be paired with a cocktail or sake. They have an extensive selection of wine, whiskey, sake, etc. so there's definitely something to satisfy every palate.. If you're hungry and adventurous take a peek at the ICHIGO SPECIAL NIGIRI (wagyu, uni, caviar, foie gras, and some 24K gold flakes!!!)

We got a few other items besides the ones in the photos and they were very good !! The fish itself is so fresh and the service was great as well

The ambiance is beautiful and our server Charlie was so sweet and attentive. We ordered the Jail Bird, Lemon Calamari, Wagyu Fried Rice, Red Mango Crunch roll, and Green Tea cheesecake. The jail bird was good, but not my favorite I'd give it a 3.5/5. The lemon calamari was so good, but a small portion for $16 so in my opinion pretty over priced so for that a 4/5. The Wagyu fried rice was delicious definitely worth the price tag 5/5! The red mango crunch roll was one of the best rolls I've ever tried, the mango gave it a nice sweetness and the salmon was so fresh 6/5!! The green tea cheesecake was so small, and taste was okay I'd give it a 3/5 also I wish it had a crust. All in all I would recommend, it's worth a try just expect a pricier bill.

Everything was so good! The wagyu, uni and was buttery and melts in your mouth! If you are a sashimi lover you will enjoy this place. The best place and price for uni and wagyu nigiri around town. This would have been a 5 star if they had seared salmon nigiri and spicy scallop nigiri on the menu. I will definitely be back . Service and presentation was too notch. Try their wagyu fried rice if you aren't a raw fish lover.

Ask the Community - Ichigo Ichie

    What is the attire?

There's not a required dress code but the two times I've been I'd call it "nice casual." I didn't feel out of place in nice shorts and a plain t.

    Is there free parking?

Yes, they validate the parking if you park at the parking garage that's in the same building as the restaurant

Then I had another couple, one as is, one subbing mezcal for tequila. Both great. As I has sat there looking at their selection of spirits I wondered if they had the ingredients to make my favorite tiki cocktail. I asked, Alex delivered. It had been six years since I had that cocktail and, while not having 100% of the ingredients, it was so damn close that it took me right back to the where and when I last drank it. Now that I know they can make it, I will be returning on a regular basis. This is a great dark and intimate location to bring a date or come solo. The folks that work there are friendly, talented and accommodating. Really great spot!

The bartenders and server were pleasant and drinks came up relatively quick. It is on the pricier side but that's the price you pay for a unique experience. One thing that I really didn't like is that our server didn't mention that auto gratuity (20%) is included on the bill. I always tip 20%+ even for mediocre service BUT I fully believe that when there is auto gratuity you should tell the patron or you're being a bit deceptive. We all added 20%+ on top of the existing 20% already and then had to adjust it when one of my friends thought her total was a bit high and pointed out the added gratuity. Not a good look or practice in my opinion.
