This sushi restaurant had great staff. I was considering giving it a 3 1/2 stars, but it deserves the four mainly for the experience I did like the fried rice and the sushi was good as well. We had gotten the California roll. I will say if you are wishing for a sweeter or more flavorful sushi, I wouldn't go for that option, but they had many different specialties that you can choose from. I do recommend for a light Japanese meal.

Too many reviews say the sushi is good. I will tell you 1) a roll is not true sushi, and 2) this was extremely underwhelming even for a roll. The ramen was average. I am picky having lived in japan for a year but I'm honest enough to know that I shouldn't expect flavors like the homeland. However, the noodles made me feel like yelling "dishonor on you and your family" across the kitchen but I'm a better person than that. So instead, I came to yelp to leave this review. Overall, the broth is great. The meat AMAZING! But the noodles the noodles

Intriguing name and logo! We got a spicy salmon roll and their ramen. Portion sizes were fair for the price. Pretty standard sushi overall. Ramen noodles were a bit overcooked and the broth a tad too sweet. Plenty of indoor seating!

My good friend from Cali and I met up at Nomzilla for some great sushi. Sorry I didn't take photos of the food.

I absolutely love this restaurant. The sushi is so good. They've changed up their menu, so I was a bit disappointed they no longer offer the Korean wings, but the Vietnamese wings were tasty. I tried the crispy sushi and it did not disappoint. If you are looking for a sushi place to try while in Nashville, I'd highly recommend Nomzilla. The place is really nice and has a cool vibe.

Nomzilla is a really Great sushi spot! It may be crowded but service is quick. The food is fresh and reasonably priced. It's a great place to come after work or with friends.

Veggie gyoza

My cousin and I had lunch here recently and it was really good. There was only one waitress and she was swamped and apologized that it would be a bit before she could get to us. We did not wait too long and she got us some sodas while we waited for her to take our order. We started with the Vegetable Gyoza. Nicely fried, good flavor inside, nice dipping sauce. For my entrée, I had the Spicy Bulgogi Pork - spicy bulgogi pork, kimchi, scallions, and steamed rice with mixed vegetables. I really liked this. Good sized portion, especially since I added the mixed vegetables. A bit spicy but not overwhelming. Good flavors throughout. My cousin had the Poke rice bowl: salmon, tuna, avocado, seaweed salad. She really liked this. A good sized portion as well. Fresh fish. Overall a nice lunch even with the service starting off slow.

Food is amazing, we haven't found GOOD Poke ever since moving here from hawaii, everything was fresh! The service was amazing too, our waitress was very friendly to our kids, the ambiance was very relaxing, This is our new place to eat! Everything was delicious

I had seen this restaurant during my drive and one afternoon I drove in and had a fantastic experience. The service from our server was fantastic, she was very attentive. I ordered one of the specialty rolls with a poke bowl. Their way of preparing and ingredients are first class, every bite of the vegetables was so crisp and fresh and the aioli used in the roll was the perfect touch. When exiting the restaurant, Their Parking spots are pull out to the street which is tricky to navigate but it's perhaps a user error! Will definitely come here again!

Baker Twins and Spicy Tuna Roll

Pulling up to Nomzilla, which sits in a small plaza on Gallatin Avenue in East Nashville, the last thing I thought I was about to get was some tasty, well priced and delicious sushi along with a gin gimlet! To say the least, Nomzilla was super "Nommy" and an absolute pleasant surprise! In all its essence, Nomzilla is a sushi and Asian fusion restaurant that serves a variety of dishes from common Asian dishes such as fried rice, bulgogi, curry, ramen, udon and of course, sushi. Additionally, you can get things like bao buns, brussels and wings. On all areas of the menu you can get vegan and veggie options as well. And of course you can wash all this stuff down with a craft cocktail or beer. The menu is decently hefty with options, so you could visit many times and definitely never get the same thing, but I would imagine after visiting this spot a few times you would have a favorite or seven. I rolled in with a few friends after sushi and cocktails. They have around 30 different rolls to choose from in addition to sashimi and hosomaki options. I went classic and specialty for my rolls with Spicy Tuna and Baker Twins. The ST is your standard roll, the Baker Twins was a house roll and twist on shrimp tempura with the addition of cream cheese, cucumber, crab meat, spicy mayo and eel sauce. No lie, may be my new favorite roll, not only for the taste but the price, as it was $11 and the spicy tuna was only $6! Drink wise, they have a well equipped and stocked bar with spirits, a great list of house cocktails and a small list of select beers. I ended up with a gin gimlet, which I did not know I wanted or was in need of! It was $9 and worth every penny. Service was the only thing that was off here. The place was not busy and there were several servers running around, but in general it was slow. Given the current state of things, I give service a pass for the most part. While it was delayed and slow here, all the fellas were super nice and helpful when they did stop by the table. Overall, Nomzilla is a solid place and one that may just become a regular reason I hit up East Nashville more frequently in the future!

Great sushi spot in East Nashville. Fresh ingredients and efficient takeout service. Recommend the chicken wings as a starter.

I tried this place for the first time with my family to celebrate one of my cousins graduation from…read moreresidency. We started off with a round of champagne and a bottle of red wine for dinner. We tried a variety of dishes since we were told that the set up is family style: Hamachi Crudo: 10/10 one of the best I've ever had! Super fresh and the sauce paired well with it. Bluefin Tune Crudo: 8/10 It was really fresh and well prepared, but I've had better elsewhere. I typically prefer bluefin tuna sashimi or nigiri anyway. Tuna Crispy Rice: 9/10 This was such a fun and delicious way to eat spicy tuna! All of the seasonings made it packed full of flavor. Tomahawk Ribeye 9/10: This was insanely tender, and well seasoned. Tip: ask for lemon wedges to sprinkle some lemon juice on it--thank me later. Broccolini 8/10: well prepared, and I loved the lemongrass garlic chili that topped it East Side Shrimp 7/10: These were well cooked and well seasoned. Loved the salad placed underneath it. Wagyu Tartare 8/10: It was well prepared and loved that it's paired with nori and rice. Wished it had a bit more punch to it in terms of seasoning. Crab Fried Rice 8/10: this was delicious but still say it's a solid 8. Beautifully prepared! Korean Hot Wings 2.5/10: I could tell that it was well cooked, but it was insanely salty; it was practically inedible. Hurricane Fries 9/10: These were so delicious! You are immediately hit with the smell of truffle, which made my mouth water. Packed with flavor! Brussels 7/10: These were well roasted, but the sauce was a tad too sweet for my liking. I highly recommend trying this place out!

By the bar we got to see some of the dishes being made. Great date night spot. Limited parking. This is a tapas spot and our serve did a good job recommending how many dishes to get. The only reason Noko is not getting 5 stars is because the server said that they would time out the dishes for us, so it was best to place our entire order all at once. However, we got 3 dishes and then it took about 30 minutes for other two to come out. Maybe we were eating too fast but felt like we were waiting a while for our food. The food itself was absolutely delicious. There was nothing we ordered that I did not like. Some favorites include the burnt ends lettuce wraps and Korean chicken wings. The Sando, shrimp and tuna crispy rice was also spectacular. The tuna was so flavorful and refreshing on the tuna crispy rice. The sauce of the east side shrimp really makes the dish. I'm not a huge shrimp person but this was really good. This is a must go to spot in Nashville and would definitely want to come back.

Adapted to fit high paced lifestyle of New York nights, it takes the idea of meticulous preparation and condenses it into a rapid experience that cuts the line between an omakase and a classic sushi dinner. At the same time, it's entertaining, sexy and fun. Sure, the time constraints will not generate the best tasting sushi ever, but it will be hard to leave disappointed for the price paid. The speakeasy-like vibe is a sharp contrast to any formal omakase experience and the founders managed to create this price point by finding unused storage spaces or other cheap backrooms that could be turned into this concept. Thus, a brilliant way to cut costs and allow the customer to get a better deal. One area where the establishment should do a bit better is the staff, in particular those greeting and getting guests sat. There needs to be polish and organization, instead of cold interactions that one might expect at a Chinese buffet. It was a bit sporadic getting that figured out and did not feel welcoming at all. Despite that, the sushi tasting set was excellent and the time constant allows guests to plan out the rest of the night without making the meal the only thing. In other words, pretty cool.

They book out 6 weeks in advance; with only 14 seats and 3 seatings per night, they are sold out in seconds when they go on sale at midnight. I have lucked out twice, once even getting a duo, so not impossible, but not easy. When you enter, you walk into a small bar area, where you can order a cocktail or two. I opted for the Shibuyu Nights, which had a slight coffee note on top of the whisky and bourbon. At the prescribed time, you are led into the omekase and the experience begins. Cue fanfare music now. This is nearly the definition of perfection. Each dish was both art and culinary genius. Pacing is perfect. Chefs interact with the patrons, enhancing the experience and the wait staff is well versed on which types of sake work best with different course. At the end of the meal you can add on extras, some from the menu and others off. If you are not full, I recommend considering the add ons. Kudos to the chef for handling my shellfish allergy with wonderful subsitutions. At $75, this is a steal. WIth extras, sake, and drinks, I ran over $200 for 1, but it was worth every minute. I don't typically like sushi and sashimi even less. The texture of a raw fish concerned me. Hubby loves it though, so I wanted to give it a chance. I figured if I was going to try, it needed to be at a place that knew what they were doing. James our sushi chef, definitely knew what he was doing. The servings were one piece at a time, served at a comfortable pace. Each piece was a different sort of fish, or a piece of wagyu beef! I enjoyed myself. The flavors made up for my personal wariness of the textures. Each piece was filled with delicious flavors. We ended up super full and content, and happy with our time here. I highly recommend.
