Excellent food service and ambience. Everything is fresh and very delicious. Sushi is fantastic

The one redeeming star goes to the server who tried her best! Food was lukewarm, limp, and generally unappealing nevertheless, I don't cook Chinese food, so I guess it was better than my own... the beef didn't look very perky and tasted a little slimy in texture. It was overall just a not very good meal in a quite outdated and rundown decor of a place. Portion sizes were very small, which is not really something you expect from Chinese food, right? I've never actually seen yellow pork fried rice... Tasted a bit like dishwater. But as I said, the server did her best.

    The car!

We were driving thru Florence on our way home, and decided to get some lunch before stopping in Eugene. Our original plan was to try Hukilau again, but the line was so long that we decided to try Ichiban instead. To be honest, the sole reason I chose Ichiban was because of the pictures on Yelp! When I saw a picture of the vintage car in the dining room, i thought I'd be a fool not to check it out! When we arrived, there was no one around except two Asian ladies (owners?) in the dining area. They quickly greeted us and took our order right away. I ordered the spider roll, while my boyfriend ordered the lunch bento box special. Since it's covid time, we were not allowed to dine in. However, the owner allowed us to wait in the room with the vintage car! (Yes, I sat in that car and had my boyfriend take pics). It felt a bit unreal to sit in a pink room with a car covered with the orange flames. My boyfriend and I came up a bunch of conspiracies how the car ended up there, and we (mostly me) agreed it was worth stopping in for! Since we were there for the car, we had very little expectations for the food. I think my spider roll was alright, everything was fresh and well wrapped. It's not sushi house quality but pretty decent. However, we were impressed by their bento special! Everything was delicious and the honey chicken blew my boyfriend away! "I really like the honey chicken!" He said", and i replied "I know." The chicken was hot and crunchy, while the sauce has this honey like taste. According to my boyfriend, it's like orange chicken but more subtle and delicious! I'm a picky eater for authentic Chinese cooking, but I also appreciate a good Chinese-American restaurant, since it's part of the American culinary heritage. This place has a great bento box which come with tons of delicious Chinese staples (stir-fried noodles/rice, tempura shrimps, and of course the delicious honey chicken!) and THE CAR! I'd recommend both to anyone who seeks a good Chinese-American bento and a quirky old school diner feel!

    This is not chow fun.

Disappointed. I ordered chow fun. That means flat, thin noodles. Instead I got what looks like spaghetti pasta. Very little sauce or chicken. Very little taste. Ordered take out, so I didn't bother driving across town to complain. My wife got cashew chicken. It was okay. Just okay. The dog even turned his nose away from it. Don't think we'll be back anytime soon.

The only reason I'm not giving this restaurant 5 stars is the lack of ambiance. Food, service & value for your $ was all 5 stars. This is not a sushi restaurant. They are doing "dine" in during COVID. Limited space. Friendly service. It looks like they want to have a sushi bar. But maybe it's too much? Seems like a sweet family business. They have a full bar with fancy cocktails. Several types of Asian beers. Sake & plum wine also. Easy to find right off 101.

I've been here (only for lunch) several times. This is a sprawling restaurant with a full menu of both Japanese and Chinese dishes. Plenty of lunch special combos priced moderately. I usually get the sushi or sashimi combo plates, sometimes with a couple of nigiri sushi ala carte. Surprisingly fresh and tasty fish for a small town country restaurant. Friendly service and nice presentation too. A different section of the restaurant has a full bar that gets lively at times. Recommended stop if you're pas

Sick of fish and chip joints whe going to florence we decided on some Japanese takeout. Chicken katsu is awesome here, portion size is very generous and tasted awesome! Sushi was fairly average. I would definitely come back here.

We had Bento #5. Delicious as usual and the service was excellent! We also purchased a bottle of their delicious salad dressing.

Really, Really good meal here. I got green bean chicken stir fry rather than a mix veg option at the waiters recommendation.

We had the crab cakes appetizer. I had a salmon dinner, my husband the sirloin tips. Our meals were very good. We had delicious desserts à la mode, one was like a moist chocolate brownie with Icecream and strawberries, one a fruit creme brûlée. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. He took our anniversary photo for us. We will like to come back again. Only other comment I'd give is that the stand alone tables, inside, seemed rather close quartered when all seats were used. There is seating outside but it was rather windy the evening we went so we ate inside.

We will return when summer winds down. So, please give them some grace.) My earlier post: First of all, we did make reservations since it is summer and quite busy this time of year; and let me say I have been to Kismets three times before and I was very happy. We have recommended it to several people we know, and brought our friends to dine last night, July 2nd. We were so disappointed. And we were embarrassed, having talked it up to our friends. Things started out okay; our waitress seemed young and possibly inexperienced, but we were okay with her lack of personality (no smile, no enthusiasm.) We had wonderful Brussels sprouts appetizer and the sushi roll was perfect, very beautiful to look at and equally delicious. I won't fault the guy who made them. But to begin with, we were given the small containers of wasabi and pickled ginger and chopsticks but no individual plates to enjoy the appetizers or sushi, and our waitress was not anywhere to be found for at least half an hour, but probably more. Our dinner finally arrived one hour and twenty five minutes after we had been seated. It was mostly good, but the huge lag in time and apparent indifference of our waitress really took the shine off the entire experience. My kismet tips had lovely flavor but was not evenly hot; for instance, some of the mushrooms were cool to lukewarm. My greatest gripe is the absolutely terrible service though. I cannot comprehend how the owner could be present in that room the entire time we were there and hardly looked at us at all and apparently was unaware of how poorly we were treated. (Was our order lost? why on earth did it take so long to be served?)

But today I went upscale to the crab cake dinner, the most expensive item on the menu. Disappointing; the crab was essentially AWOL. Worse, I was given one flimsy plastic fork that broke during the meal (replaced with another plastic fork and a metal knife). The meal included an excellent salad, sharing a too-small plate with the crab cakes. Stick with the finger food (fish and chips, tacos) and you will be happy. The salmon was the best one. It was flavorful and tender. I liked the halibut too because it was very clean tasting and flaky. The albacore was forgettable. The texture was mushier and tasted fishier. Even with the subpar albacore, the whole meal was great. The fries were thick and fluffy. I appreciated that they were generous with the ketchup and tartar sauce. I also liked that despite this being a fried dish, it didn't feel greasy or heavy. It's not cheap, but I think it's worth it. Service was friendly. This is a great place to visit when you're in town!

We were told that Ona was the chef's restaurant and wanted to come check it out. Appearance - We recommend sitting outside on their patio. Since it was cool they had the heaters running and on warmer days they can open up the garage doors. Taste - I ordered the crab cakes and that is what is truly giving this a 5/5!! I wish I ordered more. They were so yummy! I also got a bowl of the clam chowder that was great. My husband ordered the albacore steak sandwich and said it had a large piece of fish with good seasoning but mentioned he wouldn't order it again. We happened to be there during happy hour and wanted to try oysters for the first time. Let's just say it was a taste of the ocean and will be our last :/ Oysters are just not for us! I've heard that oysters can be seasoned and spruced up to help add more flavor, but these were not. I wonder if it would have helped us enjoy them more?

That's when I saw the 20% gratuity added on our to-go order. We drove back to the hotel and ate our meals. The pork chop was decent but overpriced. The mashed potatoes were very bland and runny.
