The vanilla soft serve and the strawberry snow were delicious. The service here was great, they explained the process on how to order and add topping along with giving us suggestions. I really appreciate all the toppings we got to chose from and they complimented the desserts well. The interior is very family friendly and there were indoor and outdoor seating available.

I love shaved ice and it's so hard to find! This is the first time I've paid for shaved ice by the ounce! I thought that was only yogurt! It seems the price is reasonable so I ended up paying about $11 for a small mango. You also can put some condensed milk on top before you weight your dessert. The service was mediocre. The staff was not super friendly and they didn't seem organized in getting the shaved ice and takayuki done very quickly but maybe they were short staffed so I won't totally hold it against them. There aren't a lot of seats inside so make sure you dress warmly if you have shaved ice or yogurt during the winter so you can find seats outside!

They have a variety of desserts here from shaved ice, to boba, and taiyaki. Everything is made to order! The taiyaki flavors are nutella, red bean, oreo, mochi, and cheese. The boba didnt quite turn out like the picture, but it was still great. The staff recommended 50% sweetness for the drinks, and it was perfect

I love soft serve ice cream and this place did not disappoint us. We tried their Matcha Snow Affogato and Ube Mochi Waffle and both were very unique creations and tasted really good. Very innovative, perhaps new and different in the neighborhood, and will definitely come back to try their other creations. Similar to how you serve the coffee style affogato, the matcha came separate from the ice cream. When mixed, the matcha blended well with the "shaved" ice cream. This makes my number 1 choice from their menu. But the Ube Mochi Waffle was also good. The waffle tasted similar to the fish shaped taiyaki and mixed well with the soft serve ube ice cream and some bits of mochi. Enjoy!

Sooooo good! 10/10 coming again!!!! It's not too sweet so I really liked that. Their menu has so many things, I wanted to try everything! But this was a really good choice. Will definitely switch it up next time but not sure if it'll to this. New favorite ice cream spot. It has everything tbh.

One of my favorite dessert places! I LOVE the Matcha Affogatto! It's a cup lined with condensed milk, filled with shaved snow, and topped with almond pudding and mochi. The best part is a shot of hot green tea matcha that you pour onto the dessert. It's seriously addicting! Don't forget to get a stamp card, because you will be back! The only drawback about this location is it doesn't really have space for seating, so what I normally do is go to the upper deck where there are plenty of places to sit. The service is quick and friendly.

A nice, little spot tucked in the Del Mar Highlands Town Center. It can be a little bit hard to find via Google Maps, but definitely worth the visit. What I really liked about this spot was that the taiyaki was made to order. I always appreciate food more when it's made fresh, so I totally didn't mind waiting a little for these treats. I got the three taiyaki special and was able to get each treat a different flavor. I got: oreo, nutella and mochi. For an extra $3 or so, I added on some ube ice cream. Everything was so pleasant! The ice cream had such a rich flavor and my favorite taiyaki was the oreo one. I had never tried one with that kind of filling but I'm glad I did now because it set the bar for other spots!

Solid spot on Convoy for some icy Asian desserts! Their signature is the snow, which they shave off a frozen block with a machine. If you build it yourself, you can get toppings too and get charged by weight.

My friends and i had the strawberry shortie, strawberry hibiscus tea, and matcha strawberry. Everything tasted really good. I will say it was all very, very sweet - almost to the point where I couldn't keep consuming it. While all of the treats we tried were strawberry, it is not all they have! The service was fast and the workers were friendly. The shop was small, but there was plenty of seating outside in the plaza.

I've been enjoying Robert's snow creations since trying the Bruce Lee at the original pop-up inside Pangea Bakery many years ago. I've been happy to see Iceskimo's growth and success over the years. We usually go to the Kearny Mesa store but occasionally come to Del Mar too. The snow and service is consistently good. I've liked every flavor I have ever tried. I'm a fan of the original milk, horchata and lychee, though I do miss the fun OG flavors like black sesame (not currently on menu). All the extras like waffle creations and affogatos are amazing (I loved the Purple Yammy). This location even offers soft serve. If you haven't tried Iceskimo you're missing out - so much better than traditional ice cream or soft serve. There's something for everyone. If they ever open a location in Point Loma I'd probably be there everyday.

Shaved snow: 4.5. I love shaved snow more than shaved ice with adds. Came by after multiple pastrami sandwich experiences. After some discussion with a staff member, I ordered a large size with split flavors of Ube and Nutella. I did not add condensed milk or any toppings so my order was very simple. I love the fluffiness of shaved snow (like ribbons) and how it melts in your mouth with flavor. Like ice cream but so much better in my opinion. At least for my flavors, it wasn't overly sweet like similar shaved ice desserts. Pricewise it is kind of high considering it is so fluffy and melts to so little. Even still, I love the stuff and wish there was one near my home. Service was friendly and efficient. Decor is bright and cheerful. Service: 4.5 Ambiance/decor: 4 Value: 3.75

I was looking for a little 'mo'. Iceskimo is a San Diego original which I first experienced in Kearny Mesa almost four years ago. They've recently added this location in a sprawling Del Mar plaza. Finding that it was not far off my route on a recent trip to the northern part of San Diego, I had to stop by to check it out. Maybe I'm getting older or I'm just a little cynical, but the employees were definitely pretty young. As were much of the other clientele. But I was focused on getting back to the shaved snow, also called xue hua bing back in Taiwan from which it originated. It's been getting very rare in my usual city of residence despite the unique combination of milky flavor and melting thin ice texture. Aside from their bubble waffles, soft serves, and various drinks a la boba establishments, their calling card really is that shaved snow. And their business model is by weight, which they surely augment by offering various toppings. At $0.63 an ounce, this is not cheap at all, so be ready for some sticker shock. They aren't giving snow samples at the moment, so I made the difficult decision to go with a "split flavor" order, which prompted an automatic $1.00 surcharge. I also couldn't risk trying the non-milk fruit flavors, so I had to go with a safe choice and an unfamiliar choice, both of which were frozen into cylinders of ice along with milk. The familiar jasmine milk tea tasted just as expected, and the unfamiliar Vietnamese coffee was rich and sweet, also as expected. The textures were both free of ice crystals, as expected. But the whole experience didn't seem to last long, and a lot of the snow melted in relatively mild whether, perhaps from hot toppings including the boba. Frankly, I wasn't very excited with any of the toppings, not the egg pudding, nor the chewy mochi, nor even the strawberry or cheesecake chunks. I should have kept it simple with the snow and maybe some condensed milk. And it still cost me a pretty penny with the pricing by weight and the +$1.00 for the two flavors. Come to Iceskimo because they have outdoor seating and because this is is a rare variant of a specific type of dessert, and stick to the pure dessert itself. I still want to return next trip down, but I'll just edit my purchase accordingly.

Came here on a rainy Sunday night for some dessert and the store was empty! They have a great variety from boba to shaved snow and bubble waffle! Everything looks amazing but we decided on a shaved snow! Dessert 4/5 We got two flavors of shaved snow (you can split) and got strawberry + cookies & cream. They have tons of topping options from fruits to popping boba and different jellies. We loved all the toppings but the shaved snow itself, didn't taste like much on its own! Their size small is a huge cup though so that's more than enough for two people! The young lady shared that we can add condensed milk to make it more creamy but we opted out. They do have condensed milk, caramel, chocolate, etc if you'd like to add it yourself! Ambiance 5/5 The store is very cute and aesthetically pleasing! There are tables outside but due to the rain they were wet so we settled on the few chairs that were inside to enjoy our shaved ice! Price 4/5 The pricing for this specific item is a bit confusing. They have prices listed on the menu but they also weigh the shaved snow so it's $0.68/oz. They charge $1 to split flavors. Ours was about 16 oz and we got 2 flavors so we paid about $12! Service 5/5 The young lady who helped us was very patient and helpful! She thoroughly explained the menu. They make the shaved snow and then hand you the cup to add any toppings you like before you pay.

For example, some other specialty bakeries/shops are charging similar prices for cakes and cheesecakes that are much simpler. In comparison, Extraordinary Dessert cakes take 3-4 days to make, have 6-8 alternating layers, and are typically adorned with edible gold and/or flowers. The key is to find which items you like and which are okay to pass on next time. What we ried this time: -Match Misu Cake (7/10): ricotta cake layers soaked in matcha and layered with marscapone whipped cream. This one was pretty good and ranks in my middle to high range. I only wish there was more matcha flavor (maybe if you dine in and get the sauce, this would help) or the matcha was paired with another flavor ... either go fruity (maybe a raspberry sauce, strawberry pieces, white peach pieces, or like a peach oolong cream layer) or go chocolately/coffee (maybe had some crushed up chocolate covered espresso beans). My go to's: -Ivoire Royale (10/10) - my ultimate favorite still. If you like light desserts, white chocolate, berries, and moist vanilla cake, thus one is for you. Classy and unpretentious -Shangrila (10/10) - my other favorite and will make you feel like a princess with all the pink chocolate curls. A little bit adventurous and innocently elegant. Ones to skip: -Au Chocolate / La Bete Noire / Dame Chocolate - get the Viking instead. That's my favorite of all their chocolate cakes -Lemon ricotta - get the Passionfruit Ricotta instead -Torta misu - the matcha misu is better. The tortilla misuse made me want a regular piece of tirmaisu than a cake version -Coconut cream - not bad, not amazing though

I sampled chocolate from Peru, Madagascar, and Kenya, and they all had unique fruity characteristics. Because they're vegan, so they use oat milk for their chocolate instead of dairy. My wife and I also wanted some drinks while we were here. I had a hot chocolate. My wife had hers with espresso shots. Good espresso in pure chocolate will never not be good. They are family owned and they only add chocolate, sugar, and oat milk to make their bars. Overall, this was a fun place to check out at Little Italy, and they also had a stall at the Farmer's Market.

They were amazing!!! I got the biscoff matcha latte with the biscoff foam and a few slices of cake. It was soooo good. I'm going try to plan for some relaxing time next time. The inside was beautiful and peaceful. Looks like a great place to start my day.

The main seating area is almost always full, but there's more indoor seating in the back through the hallway (where the bathroom is), plus some outdoor seating to the side. The drinks are really good. I always get mine half sweet, and the flavors are consistently great. They also have a ton of cute, picturesque desserts. They're a bit too sweet for my taste, but you can tell a lot of care goes into making them and they're definitely tasty. Parking can be tricky downtown, and it can get busy with lines, but it's totally worth it for the drinks, desserts, and overall ambiance. FYI, they have a new location up north in Scrips Poway, it's cute but slightly different aesthetic (umm more industrial) and is in a strip mall, so, way more parking!
