We were interested in getting whole house generator installed. Called Iceberg & made appointment. Salesman Carl came out late morning on day of preset appointment. Asked to borrow a pen? seriously? Barely spent much time here looking things over and appeared to be in big hurry. gave us a blank sheet for US to fill out for when we contacted gas company for service upgrade needed for job that he signed. Promised my husband he would email estimate to him THAT same evening and confirmed email. Never got estimate. Husband waited 3 days, then called & left salesman Carl message we didn't get estimate yet. No call back, no estimate still. It has been 1 1/2 weeks. Guess who we are not interested in having do work for us. Salesman is a representative for the company. Obviously, our business wasn't wanted. What an overcharging RIPOFF company. Don't let these guys rip you off! They are classic bait and switch losers -- they advertise a $39 furnace tune up. -- I called them to get the furnace tuned up with confirmation that it is functioning correctly. I was intending on submitting the receipt to the city. They said they need $289 for this --- yes -- the biggest ripoff ever at $289. See my pic of the ad that they use -- $39 gets turned into $289 when they show up. I had another company come out and perform the clean/inspection for $40 - furnace is only 2 years old and it took only 15 minutes from start to finish. To those of you who use iceberg heating and cooling after about 16 years or longer, I no longer use this company because they overcharged unprofessional and want to rip you off. Others may say they have great prices but they don't. They try to charge you three times more every time Carl comes out. There's something wrong with your furnace or your AC every f fucking then they'll try to sell you something new. Had a motor go out on the furnace they wanted $ $1,100 could have bought the same motor for $253 from electric Warehouse. Carl's account comes over to service. The AC unit says the condenser is bad. Well how much do you want for that? Carl $300 said the part may be 50 bucks $250 labor. So if you went up to Ace hardware on Dixie highway, you could buy the same part for $18 on lucid one screw take off three wires to install the new one. Slide it up there tighten the screw put on the three wires and they want FUCKING $300 to replace that. You think that's a fair price? Of course, not you want to rip off the American consumer? I hope you never get suckered into some of these. Like you said, they'll average a tune-up for 39 bucks and end up costing you $300. I know they stole the company because the last owner he was able to run sewing over junk driving, kill him and never go to jail. So we overcharge you to pay his lawyer fees. You really need to boycott this company because they do overcharge all their customers. There's a company called Justin time mechanical heating and cooling that does a better job at a cheaper price. Also their Superior comfort which pushed iceberg the shame on service and prices. Now they raised their prices on their gold plan at iceberg eating and cooling which I canceled today. I can know may imagine what they wanted for a hot water heater. I know 3 years ago they wanted $1,100 to install a hot water tank. What a f fucking rip off. You may think they're all great but once you start dealing with them they only rip you off God's truth. First, let me state that I have received high quality and courteous service from Iceberg team members who have come to my home. I had one remaining service visit on a year-long membership that requires you to be home. I work during the day and could not find a time to meet a technician at home to check off my AC just for an annual membership maintenance visit. The customer service representative told me that if I could not schedule that single final membership visit, it would forfeit the warranty on any work Iceberg has ever done at my home?? She emphatically states that was the company policy and when I opened a copy of my last service receipt to locate that clause in the service contract, it was not there. Nor could she provide me a copy of Iceberg company policy stating that. Voiding a warranty is a big deal, so I wanted to see it in writing. Nothing. I highly suspect she was at the least, exaggerating if not outright lying to pressure me into scheduling a service visit just for maintenance. What a shame. I really enjoyed my prior interactions with this company and now they've lost a customer. Iceberg management, if You're reading this and that is actually your policy, please email me a dated copy and it should absolutely be explicitly written on the membership contract and every service receipt. read more

Find somewhere better. This company is trash and I'm beyond thankful my family is no longer associated with Iceberg. All their employees are absolutely miserable but to scared to say it! It's shameful truly, they have to worry more about losing their job than creating a happy work environment. They expect their employees to wait around all day long with no work and not being paid, which is illegal. Sadly a very unprofessional company. Insider point of view, take your money elsewhere. I almost don't know where to begin. Sixteen years ago, Iceberg installed a new HVAC system and we were also on their "gold" service plan ever since. A few months ago, I had them quote on a direct replacement of a 50-gallon water heater. Out of four estimates we got, Iceberg's was the highest of all - twice what the next highest bid was. All of the other estimates were within a couple hundred dollars of each other. So much for being a "valued customer" of 16 years..." A few weeks ago, our Honeywell thermostats (which they originally installed) began to reset themselves to 50 degrees which of course caused the AC to run nonstop. Their service tech (real nice guy and nothing against him) spent hours trying to isolate the problem. They never did find out the issue. They proposed to replace a zoning board for $2000 but could not guarantee that would correct the problem. We then decided that because of the age of the system and since we had already put a lot in repairs to the system (all paid to Iceberg to be sure to the tune of just two thousand dollars) over the past three years, it was time to look at getting a HVAC system. Side note: I found that same $2,000 zone board on Amazon for $430 meaning $1,500 labor for a simple 1-hour board replacement. (My orthopedic surgeon specialist makes less per hour than than). Remember that I said earlier that Iceberg installed our current system. Last week we had five HVAC companies come out to give us an estimate for a new system. Every one of the five stated that they could not understand why Iceberg installed the system the way they did to begin with. The furnace was not sized correctly from the beginning, mismatched to the heat pump unit outside, and had strange work-around baffles in some pipes, intake and exhaust pipes on the exterior of the house were installed too close together, among other things. In a few words: a botched installation job from the start. Every one of the new companies quoting said the same thing about the installation. Very sad when you put your trust into Iceberg as a customer for sixteen years and find out they been ripping you off the entire time. I wonder how the owner sleeps at night. BUYER BEWARE. RUN AWAY IN FACT. They will try to lure you with razzle-dazzle and although they seem to put on a good facade, they are only out for your money, and as much of it as they can get. He looked at my furnace for a few minutes waked out and deemed it inoperable. My mother's furnace/AC failed and she called 3 contractors for estimates. Apparently Iceberg they thought they were only dealing with her and possibly thought they were the only company she contacted. Their bid was for $8K, but once they realized her son was involved and we had other bids, they suddenly called us with "reworked numbers " and came back with a $6K bid and wanted a call back letting them know who we were going with even if it wasn't them. We got her furnace/AC replaced for $4,500.00. by a competitor. I can not help to think this company's intent was to take advantage of an elderly woman. Buyer beware. read more

Completely incompetent scheduling and horrible customer service. I was scheduled for a 12 to 4 appointment, and when Chelsea called to see if I'd be available at 11 for the tech to come out, I told her that I had only asked someone to be at my house from 12-4, during my scheduled appointment time. She then got an attitude and told me they will try and get to me today but they'll have to move me around because the notes said I'd be available earlier. When I told her I never said I'd be available earlier, she cut me off and got an attitude. Needless to say, she was not pleasant and I still have a broken furnace even though I was scheduled from 12 to 4 and held up my end of the deal. I will dissuade anyone who ever thinks of using Iceberg. This was a MASSIVE waste of my time and a HUGE screw up on their end that I had to pay for. read more

Iceberg came to my home to do a annual check on my A/C in September. When the tech arrived, he immediately ask me if he could check my furnace. After about 15 minutes of listening to him bang around in my basement. When he came back upstairs he told me, my furnace heat exchanger was cracked and I would need my furnace replaced. But he needed a second opinion. About 20 minutes later a salesman came. He went downstairs for about 5 minutes, confirmed what the tech said. He told me I needed a new furnace and it would cost 7K but since I was a service member he could get it for about 6K. I told him I would think about it and get back with him. He then told me he could just condemn my furnace and shut it down. Later that day I called another company. They came a few days later to check my furnace. I was told there was nothing wrong with my furnace, except Iceberg had unplugged the my blower so the furnace wouldn't turn on. Be very cautious when dealing with them!!!!!!!1 read more

These guys are shysters! Stay away!!! The repair guy came to "fix" our furnace, charged us $800 for a service call and totally inflated the bill. It shows $393 for Basic safety system repair and $79 for trip charge but the total bill was $760 and that's what he charged our credit card. He was not able to print out a receipt so we were unaware of this discrepancy until I printed it out recently because the furnace is still not working. I have no idea what the additional $288.51 is for??? And on top of that, he didn't even fix the furnace!!! read more

Called Iceberg after looking up HVAC Westland Michigan. Webpage indicated $50.00 off service call with mention of the special. I called on a Wednesday. The tech came out and after trying to upsell me into buying a new home furnace (he indicated that it needed more than a thousand dollars in parts), he refused to honor the special and charged me $59.00 for the service call when I decided not to purchase a new furnace through his company. I paid the $59.00 and he was on his way. I contacted another more honest HVAC company who fixed the furnace for a total of $130.00 in parts and labor. read more

These people charged us hundreds of dollars to fix our heat in the winter. Our air has always worked great. Imagine our surprise when we turned the air on the other day and it didn't work. The moron drilled a hole in our A ring. So now we wait for them to come out and fix it without them screwing something else up. I am 100% positive you can find a better company than this one. It has been a nightmare since we had them come out. They just kept telling us we needed to replace part after part when they would leave and it still wouldn't work. They are scammers. read more

1) They came out and fixed our AC problem on a Sunday evening. They showed us what wasn't working, basically the compressor was pulling too much power and going bad. They quickly installed a new A/C the next week after reviewing options. 2) We had them fix our long term problem of the basement getting too much heat or too much cooling. Although it took multiple trips only because the work was that extensive, they fixed everything and we're pleased as punch, almost having orgasms with a HVAC system that works properly. I just call them up and say, "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY", I like them that much. read more

We had nothing but issues and problems since our air conditioning system was installed. Several hundred dollars later, we finally gave up and hired another company to come out and do the math and figure out that the units we were sold were not compatible. Since we replaced the entire system [which another company did] we have not had ONE issue. Lesson learned - find a reputable company - not this one. read more

Office personnel need some assistance with phone etiquette. Received a call from Chris and when I picked up the phone I could hear her talking about me. Apparently she didn't realize I had answered the phone. She was saying to the other woman in the office "I can't believe she would think that the part would be in today...". When I explained to her the expectations that were set by the field technician (he said he would be back at our house the next day) she fumbled for an excuse and said that the tech must have forgotten that it was a holiday when he serviced our A/C unit. Additionally, this company never has the parts necessary to complete a service call on the same day. Industry standard? Maybe. Joke of a company? Highly likely. Don't let their call script greeting fool you. Technicians aren't even on the same page when servicing the A/C. Multiple techs=multiple diagnosis= multiple opportunities for the company to create 'issues' and take more money from homeowners. read more

Do not recommend this company at all. I called to have my furnace cleaned out and tuned up. I specifically asked the receptionist if they did both, she responded with yes. They do not! They only do tune ups. Second the technician they sent did not ask to replace the mother board, he replaced it without turning on the thermostat. He was told multiple times it was turned off since it was still nice out. After realizing he did not have authorization to replace the $600 part and had to take the loss, he decided it would be professional to secure the new mother board with one screw. Turning on the furnace because it is now cold out it does not fire up correctly. We called for the company to redeem its reputation with us and asked that they send a different technician, one again the receptionist responded okay and guess what? They sent the same technician! This company has staff that has little to no knowledge of what their company offers, and lacks honesty and professionalism. read more

Ed was prompt when visiting the house and did a through job at selecting the right size for the equipment. Then on installation day I had the opportunity to deal with Jeremy and Caleb.
