Our experience with this company was, by far, the worst experience we have ever had with a service provider of this sort. I called them to come and check a drip from my furnace. The technician came, worked on the furnace, and then I got a call telling me the drip was stopped, but the furnace now didn't work at all. Was told I needed a new furnace! Other than the drip, I had no problems with the furnace up to that point. They offered to put a new furnace in. Since it was the middle of January, I didn't have much choice.
They replaced the furnace that day after I insisted it had to be done that day. They didn't finish the job, though, as they couldn't hook up the humidifier. They also soldered some pipes that they cut while installing the furnace.
They came back the next week to finish the job and we discovered that the soldered pipe was leaking. Water all over the basement floor. Mattress and box springs and other items ruined. They admitted the soldering job was "shoddy". They re-soldered the pipe. We thought all was well and good riddance to them.
Well, in the process of soldering the pipe they turned off the hot water tank and didn't restart it when they left! That evening we discovered we didn't have any hot water! We had to screw with restarting the furnace ourselves and later on discovered a leak in the pipes coming off the hot water tank that didn't exist before!
I know what you're thinking: Must be a really old house with old plumbing. No. The house was built in 2002 and the furnace was 15 yrs old. The hot water tank was less than 3 years old.
We will never use this company again and will advise others to avoid them. We called another company to finish the work and make sure everything they did was safe.
Update: Dave from AH called me back and apologized. He offered a 10 year parts and labor warranty and a letter of apology to my wife, and said we could submit a list of damaged items that he would forward to his insurance company. All in all good, but I won't use them in the future. read more
