Incorrect installation of my water heater. It failed inspection and they demand more money to fix their mistake.

Sewer & Water Specialist

Sewer & Water Specialist

In November 2024, I called a well-known sewer cleaning company because sewage was backing up into…read moremy basement. They used hydro jet on my main sewer line. I thought the issue was resolved but a little over a month later, my area got a lot of rain. My entire basement flooded. I spent 3 days using a subversive pump to pump out the water. I called a plumber who recommended me to Sewer & Water Specialist. It turns out the 1st company temporarily fixed the issue. They did not resolve the main issue. Richard & Dave at Sewer & Water Specialist used a hydro jet to clear my main sewer line and used a camera to figure out the main problem, which was roots at the tap of my line. They cut the roots out to help prevent reoccurrence of the problem, at least for a while. They were a lot cheaper than the 1st company. Richard gave me a detailed explanation of my problem and used a camera to figure out the problem. I can use all my sinks and bathrooms now without things backing up in my basement. I am extremely grateful for this company.

I'm leaving three stars because the crew that came to fix the sewer line were FANTASTIC, but our…read moreexperience scheduling the service was a nightmare and merits ZERO stars. They were despondent for months and when we finally were able to schedule a day, the crew were unable to find someone to perform a ground inspection. The city of Livonia apparently needed 24 hours notice to get an inspector out to the job- seems like they should have looked into that prior to arriving, no? They then told us they couldn't do the job. We had taken a vacation day from work to be available, not to mention we had waited months to have this work done. Understandably, we were hoping to find a way to make it work. We called Sewer and Water Specialists (Monroe) and spoke with Kim. She told us that she had never heard of that before and that the township was in the wrong because they schedule this type of repair 20 times a day and have never encountered this issue. We asked if we could call the township directly to try to request an inspector and she sarcastically wished us good luck and explained that they never do that. We called the city of Livonia. Guess what- they did do that. So an hour and a half of this nonsense later, the crew stayed to do the job and had to work double time to get it done before the inspector arrived at 3- all because they were set up for failure by their back office support. But the crew was very polite and truthfully did great work. They took special care not to kill our plants and not once that day did they show frustration for the several miscommunications that occurred that morning. Thank you to the crew for your help- Don, Scott, Amber and Kenny. Here's to hoping this review will encourage better customer service or at least the utilization of Google calenders or Excel spreadsheets to help facilitate better planning and organization.

They tried to scam us saying a macerating pump costed 2k and was a 5k job. Before we had a second opinion we agreed to replace it. After finding out we were being scammed we cancelled the pump the next day and told Michael we no longer wanted the services or pump. He was great and said we would just pay for the diagnostic visit. The next day the 2k came out and when called to ask when it would be refunded. We were told the accountant was busy and she would get to it. The next day, still no money. Called again told the same thing. Then get a call from Tony (apparent manager?) stating the pump was in. We declined as we already cancelled services. We were then told either we take the pump and they are keeping the 2k they took or we let them install it for $800. We declined again to both. We did not order the pump. We were then told they were keeping our 2k and I quote "we just won't answer the phone anymore". Jonah was then caught trying to sit the pump in our driveway without our knowledge or consent onto our property so that they could try to charge us for it. My husband went to take it back to his van and he refuse to take it back. Jonah got caught up in a huge lie when confronted about the services and screamed at me, as liars do. Resulting in my husband being called a pu*** and being told to f*** off while tossing a middle finger out the window. All of which was caught on cameras and recorded. HUGE SCAMMERS!!

What a cluster. We…read morestarted our journey to get a new generator installed on 19 May. It was finally finished sometime in August. One would think that a place who specializes in generators would do better than this. However. First, the good news: our salesperson, DJ, was wonderful. He spent time with us going over the BTUs and size generator that would realistically be needed here. Also, our meter needed to be upgraded and I gotta say, Consumers Energy was great! Yeah, you read it. Great! They were here within two days time, had the thing installed and ready to go. Bam! And now...the rest. It took a while to get scheduled. Ok, no biggie. But when they finally arrived to do the install, that's when the mishaps began. It was hot outside. Like blazes. We kept the guys swimming in drinks and had them come in as often as they needed for AC breaks. The install was to take 1.5 days. Welp, by end of day 2, the people just left. Long holiday weekend? Extra extra day off? Going to contact us next week about finishing. No call. Call office. No clue. Called back. Evidently, generator needs a part. No one mentioned this. (Wouldn't you think that a place that specializes in generators would have parts?) Days go by. More calls to office. No part. More calls, no part. Called back and scheduled. Oh now something else. We will get back with you. Inspector from county can come in meantime. Cool! He arrives, very pleasant and inspects plumbing. He says, "when is electrical inspector coming?" Huh? He said that Haley should have also scheduled that. The plumbing inspector even called the electrical inspector himself (!!) and was told that Haley never scheduled him. Call office. Oh, uh, guess that didn't get done. Called office about SIX times to get that scheduled. The installers from Haley cut the outside gas line too short. That had to be redone. Now we are ready? Generator going to work now? No. Now the guys have to come back. The replaced part from July? Doesn't work. Replacement ordered. Call office. Is it there? Is it there? When are you getting it? Etc etc etc Part comes. Oh damn, now the lid doesn't lock. Going to order new lock. Call office. Any word on part? Anything? Hello? "We are going to have our new electrical manager help you out. He will call you right back" Crickets. Days and days of crickets. No manager. No anyone. Call office. Part here? Nope. Guy is coming out. New part found. He is super nice. Tries new part. Guess what! Doesn't fit! Eeeeeeeeee He says he is going back to take an entire lid from another generator to fix ours. He does. All is well. Days later. We get a call asking for the serial number so our extended warranty can be registered because Haley forgot to get it during install. Three weeks after that, we still don't see extended warranty in our app being added. Call office. Oh, she hadn't registered it. All in all, this whole process took months, and no less than 30-35 calls to the office to get things done. No one knows what is going on in this company from one department to the next, one employee to another. It used to be highly recommended because it was family-owned. Now, we can see how private equity has "helped" enhance another business into the trash heap of history. After this colossal mess, we do have a nice generator that works great. And we will be using an entirely different company for our annual maintenance.
