This place does live up to most of its insane hype. The lasagna can only be described like a giant thick block of meat and cheese - it's almost too decadent to eat. We only made it halfway before taking the rest to go. The limone pasta was also a hit. The weakest for us probably the ravioli, we felt it congealed a bit too fast but maybe that's on us for eating too slow. Eating out in the garden on a beautiful spring day made the experience even better.

This might be the greatest meal out we have ever had! Everything is made from scratch and far exceeded our expectations. Willie was the perfect host with spot on recommendations and over the top hospitality. It's a small place and highly popular so make a reservation or go early!

I've been wanting to come here for years, but generally defaulted to Rita Sodi's other spot, Via Carota (creature of habit). So when my sister came to visit and a friday lunch spot opened up on Resy, I was there. Came for the first seating at 11:30 AM, def recommend having a reservation as they seemed pretty booked and the space itself is cozy (esp if it's too cold for their back patio seating). Service is something i've seen flagged in other reviews, but honestly from the hostess to our server, everyone was super warm and kind. Since it was "morning", they had some extra breakfast style dishes including an intriguing egg lasgana, but we went classic lunch and split the Steak Tartare, Pappardelle al Limone, Lasagna, and Piselli side which was plenty of food (with leftovers). Standouts are definitely the Pappardelle al Limone which was creamy and bright from the lemon zest, and the texture of the pappardelle was perfect. Their famous lasgana was visually stunning with layers upon layers of thin pasta, but a bit heavy. Also got the homemade bread basket which comes with delish olive oil and olives (but is also an extra charge). Can't believe I haven't come here sooner, will definitely be back even just for the lemon papardelle!

Beautiful & intimate Italian place in Greenwich Village. This place came highly recommended by a trusted friend and is usually booked well in advance. Their website said they welcome walk-in so after not finding a table on rest, I decided to take my chances on a Monday evening. We got lucky and got two spots at the bar (note that everyone needs to be present for you to get seated). The service was attentive and friendly. We ordered pasta and I opted for the truffle pasta special which was absolutely delicious. The pasta was beautifully al dented and the sauce perfectly buttery and creamy. The portion size was pretty generous, too which I appreciated at $45. It was definitely some of the best and most expensive pasta I had but well worth it. I met a friend who was in town and that I hadn't seen for a while so we were still chatting and finishing our sparkling waters after paying the bill but were asked to leave so they can turn around our seats pretty promptly. Definitely understand that it's a small place, but we only spent a little over an hour total in the restaurant and hadn't even finished our drinks. That's what I'm deducting a start for.

I was blessed by the Resy gods and finally got an early dinner reservation off the waitlist. The inside of the restaurant is very simple and bare bones. The tables are close together, but it was pretty quiet at 5PM. We ordered the potato croquettes, lasagna, and the tortellini in brodo. The croquettes were veryy cheesy. My boyfriend liked it, but I would have preferred it to be heavier on the mashed potato flavor. This was my first time having tortellini in brodo, and it kinda reminded me of wonton soup. The meat filling of the tortellini was very flavorful, and they were floating in a clear and salty broth. I heard mixed reviews of the lasagna, so I didn't have high expectations going in, but I actually liked it! It was very dense and salty with the meat though. I would have preferred some kind of tomato sauce/acidity to cut through the richness. Overall, I liked how simple and rustic the dishes were. Everything was good, but nothing really stood out to me. I'm glad I got to try this place, but I don't see a need to go back. Definitely liked it more than Via Carota though!

We came by for lunch the food was very good food and the service. We were asked if we would like some Bread ( we didn't know it was extra $) The food was delicious We had: -Zucchini, ***lasagna, and *** ravioli pasta dish That lasagna was incredible We'll come again soon

I'm honestly surprised this place doesn't have at least 4 stars... I thought it was delicious and personally like this place better than Via Carota. The menu is fairly "simple" but executed well and everything was quite flavorful and seasoned perfectly. Had a weekend lunch reservation and the restaurant wasn't full the entire time I was there... so maybe try walking in if you can't get an online reservation! Service was exceptional. Food: ordered the below for two people and it was too much food. -Insalata Di Indivia: soooo good. Crisp, fresh, and bursting with flavor. Perfect compliment to the pasta dishes. -Prosciutto, Cheese, and "Doughnuts": can't remember what this was called... nothing crazy here, but exactly what I wanted. Salty, savory, and the "doughnuts" were warm and fluffy. Comes with 3. -Lasagna a Sugo: a must. What they're known for. Rich, very meaty, and almost melts in your mouth. -Cacio e Pepe: perfect. Exactly how you'd want this dish to taste. Peppery, cheesy, salty. -Risotto Zucchini: enjoyed. Creamy, but refreshing with the fresh zucchini, lemon, and herbs. -A special with wheat noodles, mushrooms, and meat... wouldn't order again simply because it was quite rich and competed with the lasagna.

    Steak tartare

This was definitely one of my favorite meals that I had in New York City on my two week trip. The steak tartare was a huge portion and extremely fresh and delicious and very flavorful but the lemon pappardelle was the star of the show. This is insanely good and I cannot stop thinking about it. Literally if I could eat this every week I would service was great. I had the bartender with the Keith Herring tattoo he was very friendly and gave great prompt service. The only Con have is that I thought the barstools are very small and uncomfortable. But otherwise beautiful restaurant and beautiful meal.

My friend and I stopped by late afternoon on Saturday around 2pm. Fortunately for us, they allowed us to sit down if we ordered promptly because the store was set to close around 3pm for their break. Luckily, there were tables available, so we got seated right away. My friend and I ordered to share: HOUSE BREAD The bread was a type of wheat bread. It came out warm. There were 4-5 pieces. They provided an oil to dip the bread. It was nice, but I think personally though it's skippable - didn't find myself wanting more than what was provided. CARPACCIO DI ZUCCHINI This was my friend's pick, but I was pleasantly surprised by this dish in a good way. This appetizer is quite light & refreshing. I feel like it's the perfect summer dish. The vegetable were very finely cut & fresh. The mint taste was subtle (which I appreciate - cause I generally do not enjoy mint in my foods). CACIO E PEPE I knew that they were known for this dish. And it did meet my expectations. The black peppers that they used seems like a good quality. The pepper was apparent but not overbearing. The noodles taste great with the combination of the sauce/cheese. This dish was decently filling despite how it may appear. So I was satisfied with my order. Overall, I did enjoy my meal. The servers were very kind/accommodating. My friend even said that she would want to back to try the Cacio E Pepe after taking a bite of mine.

If SMH were edible, it'd taste like I Sodi. When the restaurant's Resy page came across my screen with a new crown in the corner (making it easier for me to book a table), I figured I'd finally give this place a shot now that reservations weren't as difficult as rocket surgery. But color me disappointed--and put me down for Team "Not Worth the Hassle". - Pane e olio: I didn't want this, but it was ordered anyway. Their housemade sourdough was...very weird. Super dense, thick and chewy. Maybe I'm too much of a peasant to appreciate this kind of sourdough, but I do bake my own bread and this bread tasted like one of my beginner mistakes. Regardless, I hate that we had to pay $15+ for this gluten nightmare. - Lasagna a sugo: Supposedly their signature dish--but I can't fathom why unless over-salted disappointment is an aspiration in the culinary world. This lasagna tasted like someone spilled an entire can of NaCl in ground meat, then threw in some sheets of pasta to mask the mistake. There was little to no sauce, the cheese was mostly only on the top layer, and no other seasoning could be discerned from all that salt. The entire thing made my kidneys hurt. - Special pappardelle with lamb and porcini: I don't know if this dish had a proper name, but by virtue of not being the aforementioned lasagna, it tasted miles better. There could've been more lamb, and there definitely wasn't enough porcini, but the pappardelle was al dente enough. - Side of roasted carrots: Good, but who doesn't know how to roast carrots? At least they gave a large amount--it helped wash down the horrible lasagna. Service was fine but not particularly friendly, especially as the place filled up after 5:30pm. The space was the typical brick and wood chic that so many West Village restaurants have, but as with the service, it was lacking in warmth. Definitely don't plan to return.

Came here for the famous lasagna, stayed for the amazing cocktails. Seriously-- these were some of the best cocktails I've had in a restaurant. As it's almost impossible to grab reservations, I walked in around 4:50PM on a weekday night and was seated right away without a wait. Service was great and ambiance was very rustic chic. - Lasagna: 9/10 (great classic lasagna but nothing mind-blowing. Tbh I prefer the don Angie lasagna) - French 75 cocktail: 100/10 (an amazingly well balanced French 75! They only had the non-alcoholic version on the menu, but the bartender offered to make an alcoholic version and oh wow was I blown away. The slight sweetness of the bubbles and the slight bitterness of the orange peel really made this a great cocktail) - Martini: 1000/10 (ok I usually hate martinis because I'm not a spirit-forward cocktail person but mannnn this martini was the best martini ive ever had) I will definitely come back, esp for their cocktails!!!

Wow just wow. The lasagna absolutely delicious. I came here for a client dinner and was late and totally wish I got there earlier for more. We ordered three lasagnas, a couple pastas, a tomahawk steak, the short ribs, and dessert. Everything was fantastic. Honestly I would come back just for the lasagna. The steak was also cooked to perfection. The place was cute, it had a patio with outdoor seating. I will say this place does got packed. We had to leave at 8:15 cause another table was waiting on us. The waitress was really nice about it, but yeah plan on an early dinner for optimal time and seating. I would totally recommend this to a friend and will be coming back next time I'm in New York.

Delicious. Would recommend making a reservation so you don't have to wait but If you come 20 mins before opening it's likely to get a table. I sat at the bar and I was a vibe. The lighting was gorg. The staff was kind and accommodating. The food was fresh and delicious. The lasagna was rich and full of flavor. Each bite very decadent. Highly recommend for a solo night or date night

I have a reservation on Saturday and it's supposed to rain and I have a sidewalk reseating res. Do they have an outdoor cover area after covid or you sitting in the rain under table umbrellas?

Is there a way to eat at the bar without a reservation? If so, what time is best?

If it's 3 people or less, can probably get a seat at the bar if you get there 15-30 mins before opening.

Does anyone know what day and time reservations open on Resy? Seems impossible to get a reservation.

Reservations for the next available date opens on midnight. I would install the Resy app and check at midnight EST. The other thing is you can sign up for the Notify - Wait List. A lot of tables open up.

There were a couple specials when we came on a different menu. We ordered a bottle of wine, antinori, ravioli ricotta e spinaci, maccheroni sull'anatra and tagliatelle al tartufo (twice). Everything was delicious but definitely the tagliatelle al tartufo was the star. I'm basic and I love a truffle gnocchi or pasta but this one far exceeded my expectations- from the fresh truffle shavings being included, to the homemade pasta texture (perfectly thin) and lastly but not least the sauce! The sauce wasn't a standard heavy cream tasting base, it was light while still being rich and strong in tartufo flavor. We ordered a second one because we all liked it that much. A close second was the maccheroni sul'antra, aka a duck ragu. I've never had a duck pasta and the fact it tasted like duck but had the same texture as a traditional ragu with pork was delicious. Service was great as well! The whole staff is very welcoming and very friendly while I was waiting for my friends to arrive. The dining room strikes that rare balance between refined and comfortable. It feels like a place where people actually enjoy lingering. The wait staff were attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without being performative, and genuinely friendly. Service felt easy and unforced -- the kind that elevates a meal without calling attention to itself. We ordered from the lunch menu and were impressed across the board. The pear and endive salad was beautifully balanced -- crisp, slightly bitter, subtly sweet, and thoughtfully dressed. The steamed mussels were fresh and fragrant, served in a broth we happily sopped up to the last spoonful. The fettuccine was perfectly cooked and deeply satisfying. The braised rabbit was tender and nuanced, and the veal and ricotta meatballs were light yet rich, clearly made with care. Even the house wine deserves mention -- excellent, well-paired, and generous enough to make a midday meal feel celebratory without excess. Overall, it felt like grown-up Italian dining done right: elegant but unpretentious, thoughtful but never fussy. We'll absolutely be back -- perhaps next time for a long dinner when we can stay even later.

But this will not lower my rating as it was taken care of swiftly. The portions were the perfect size and I was not stuffed but pleasantly satified. We told them the time of our show, food was out quickly, nicely presented, still hot and very tasty. The restaurant was not noisy and had space between the tables. It also had an elevator for those who could not manage stairs. Trattoria Trecolori you will be added to my must go again list! Thank for a wonderful experience!
