Chicken teriyaki plate w salad
David C.

Perfect plate of chicken teriyaki. Great mom and pop shop. Really clean and comfortable ambiance. Kind and friendly service.

The spicy chicken teriyaki

To the owner of the Spot, please do yourself a favor and put the chicken and onions over the rice and put some steamed veggies or something to go along with your chicken and rice. I got the spicy chicken and rice. The flavor was very good but I had to mix the rice with the chicken and I wish I had some steamed veggies or something instead of this cold salad that doesn't go with this kind of food

Genial delicioso tenía tiempo que no probaba algo rico y un ambiente tranquilo y cervicio genial

Good food and great service. Had the chicken and beef combo with egg rolls and gyoza all hot and all yummy. The dinning area is clean and comfortable. Parking is a tight, but there is street parking also.

The chicken teriyaki was good! The rice was a bit hard at some spots, could have been due to it being a to-go order. If you're in the area I would recommend if you're craving teriyaki.

The salad that came with my chicken teriyaki combo. There's barely any lettuce. Talk about stingy.

I come here all the time, and generally go through the drive thru on the way home from work. I got home opened the bag and this is the salad that came w my teriyaki combo meal. So disappointed, especially when I tipped them generously. Like what the heck is this? Are we being cheap w iceberg lettuce now. This just looks sad. I also noticed they don't give you as much rice and chicken as they normally do. And the drive thru window guy is kind of rude.

Price = ~$15 / service= average / cleanliness = average / vibe = "hole in the wall", historic mom and pop style / parking = enough, not too much, not too little I ordered the chicken teriyaki entree (I cannot do spice so scurrred to try) that costs around $15 which is a good deal in LA, especially, for the portion you get. This is an unassuming, hole in the wall, that gives some nostalgia to the mall Sarku Japan days in high and middle school in NJ. This place is one of those finds that I like where you get inexpensive and good food for a great experience. I Love Teriyaki looks like it has been there since the olden days of LA metro. The vibe you get is one of those classic spots and the food delivers more than as well. The flavor of the teriyaki sauce is a perfect blend of savory and umami and reminds me of a far better Sarku Japan / chicken teriyaki dish. If you are looking for a homemade taste but quality chicken teriyaki with sauce...look no further. In addition, the sauce in the salad just further blends together with the chicken teriyaki and teriyaki sauce in the rice! Be prepared to be extremely full if you plan to finish this dish in one sitting. BONUS POINTS in taking a stroll after this delicious meal! In walking around town, it gives off a kind of old Western vibe (coming from someone who lived and explored Dallas-Fort Worth metro (DFW) a good amount), almost cowboy-like but you are in California so that does not make sense...this part of El Segundo must have kept its history and gives you such a different feeling than the newer, bougie, fun, and other areas in LA metro. Definitely check out this part of Main St. if you are looking for something different in LA metro.

i love teriyaki is great for a quick and easy meal. they have a drive through that is really convenient. it is reasonably priced and they give good portions. i've had their chicken gyoza combo plate a few times. i will say the chicken and salad could be higher quality and the rice was a little dry. but for the price and what i expect, it is pretty good.

Meh, not the best teriyaki around. Better options elsewhere. Portions are small as well.

Hidden in plain sight, Kagura is a top tier Japanese dining experience. It should be noted that this place is more $$$ than it is $$, and that's a compliment. I dropped $50+ here and it was easy to say it was worth it. I treat myself to the Kagura Gozen chef especial that was limited on how many was served per day and a Orion Okinawa draft beer. Plus, I had leftovers. The chef special came with more-than-a-little of everything. Each dish was unique and delicious. I was treated to a full spread of amazing Japanese cuisine. Sashimi was fresh, katsu was thick and juicy with a lightly breaded crust, eel was flavorful and soft, and the soba noodles were perfect. The restaurant is clean and beautifully laid out. I got vibes of actually being in Japan. If you have a reservation, you can get a private booth. The attractive staff were fantastic. Friendly and fast. Water glass was always full and empty dishes were promptly removed. Last tid bits. Two clean solo bathrooms and street parking.

It was our first time visiting the Bar and my husband got the Taste of the Bar while I got the 6 piece hand roll fixed menu. The Taste of the Bar had the most unique recipes for their rolls and came with a sake or green tea, which was amazing iced. The Bar is located in a super fun little strip mall towards the back of the mall. It's sort of low key, so it's not really too crowded, hard to find parking, or much of a wait to be seated generally. I loved how friendly and social the staff are as you're being served your hand rolls, it made the experience that much more enjoyable. Service is prompt and you're welcome to order more food at any point during your meal. I loved the 6 piece. It was a more traditional hand roll offering of salmon, spicy tuna, amber jack, blue crab, toro, and scallop. The hand rolls were all so flavorful, but my favorites were the blue crab for its creaminess and the amber jack for the lemon zestiness that paired so well with the protein. The hand roll portions are generous and I was stuffed by the end.

This was my first experience at a hand roll bar. I didn't know what to expect but the service was fast, and every roll was made to order. There's something simple about a good roll with crispy seaweed, perfect temp rice, and buttery fish. I opted for the 4 hand roll, the hamachi jalapeño appetizer, and the PCH. The hamachi jalapeño was a great starter. The hamachi was mellow, the yuzu sauce provided a great citrus flavor, and the jalapeño added a nice crunch. The highlight for me was the scallop roll. If you are a scallop lover like myself, you'd enjoy the quantity in the roll. There's not much to this other than quality fish, great service, and a relaxing time.

Walked in and seated immediately. Like I mentioned already - arrived early. By the time I left, the place was filling up. Which meant - attentive, friendly great service for me. As for the food - see uploaded video. I loved the presentation and the food a well. There was one dish I felt was just ok. If you watch the video, note the dark deep fried dish. Think the oil wasn't clean as it wasn't overcooked. I don't mean clean as in dirty but maybe not fresh? Not sure if I'm using the right words to describe it but it wasn't golden; it was more burnt brown. Ended up saucing it more than usual and still finished it off. I wouldn't let one thing like that stop me from enjoying good food. In fact, I plan on going back again to enjoy more of the sushi and sashimi. And ice cold beer!

The moment you walk in, you're hit with a warm comforting atmosphere. It feels like stepping into a traditional welcoming home. To top off the hospitality, they start you off with a complimentary scoop of mashed potatoes. We ordered gyoza to start, which was perfectly pan-seared with a great crisp on the bottom and a juicy, savory filling. We also got chicken karaage which was golden, light, and incredibly crunchy (do not skip the fresh lemon squeeze! It cuts through the richness beautifully and highlights the seasoning). For entrees, we ordered the Bento box set. It is a massive, visually stunning assortment with tuna sashimi, chicken karaage, grilled mackerel, crisp tempura, earthy root veggies, and rice. It comes paired with a side bowl of their udon. You literally get a little bit of everything We also got the Pork Curry Katsu set: the katsu retains its crunch even under a rich blanket of deeply flavorful curry. The restaurant is located in a fairly busy strip mall with other popular restaurants and drink shops located within the same mall. Renowned food critic Jonathan Gold from the Los Angeles Times wrote an article about this restaurant back in 1992 ( https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1992-07-09-fo-2127-story.html ). [Parking]: The strip mall has a big enough lot and our party had no issue finding an available spot during weekday dinner hours. [Interior]: Old school Japanese mom-and-pop dining vibe. [Menu]: The restaurant offers various combo sets with tempura, bento, udon, and seafood (unagi, salmon, grilled mackerel, etc). Their specialty dishes are Shoyu Udon and Tanuki Udon. *** Tendon Combo (assortment of fried tempura with a semi sweet sauce poured on top of rice $15.95): The fried tempura pieces were not as good as the tempura from Tendon Tempura Carlos Jr. as the combo lacked variety. The miso that came with this combo was really good. *** Overall a mediocre experience with the tempura combo that I ordered, but I sampled the udon and liked it a lot better than the tempura so I would definitely recommend getting their specialty like udon for a better experience.
