This place is heavily overcrowded all the time. Even if you made an appointment, you will not see your doctor for an hour but usually over an hour. Some people don't make an appointment and just come in and sign their name in and even if your appointment is coming up, that person will be seen first if he signed in before you. My first time here, I waited for about an hour and a half and when I finally got to see Dr. Lee, the first thing he said to me was "wow, that's a big one". He was referring to the pimple on my face. He doesn't even realize he's upsetting his patient while he constantly comments on your acne. He definitely didn't learn proper bedside manner in medical school. If you have to come here, ask for his PA--Bonilla. She is so nice and understanding. I actually started making appointments specifically to be seen by Bonilla. OH! but of course! the rude, impatient receptionists don't care! and I end up being seen by Dr. Lee anyways. I hate this place. I drive 30 minutes further out to be seen by someone else. read more

I honestly don't understand the previous reviews. While I normally see Dr Lee in the Jackson Heights area, I'm receiving treatment for laser hair removal here. This area being mainly Asian it's understandable the majority of the staff would be as well. They have been friendly both on the phone and in person. Accommodating when I need to change my scheduled appointment. Speak English clearly and never have to wait for long. Perhaps it's because I'm always at least 20 or 30 minutes early, which is actually required for any busy office. This office is quite busy and it can get crowded. If you go in late or go with an attitude, I'm a firm believer you have nothing to complain about. Their job is not easy so if you expect good treatment try to treat them with respect, you will receive the same. I like that they explain clearly the procedure prior to any treatment. That's why they offer a free consultation. Don't try to sell you anything but offer frequent deals, so be sure to ask. Honestly they treat people from all ages. I prefer to give this place a -5 stars but Yelp doesn't allow it. The doctor isn't friendly and could care less if you improve. So my GF is getting treated for acne and it seems the only solution they have is a generic tretenoid or Accutane. What about Retin-a micro or any other treatments? Nope. I went here for a cosmetic consultation. It was free of charge - there's a reason for it. If you're actually stupid enough to use them as your cosmetic derm, they will charge FOUR times as much as any other place. Please, seriously, do your homework as an educated consumer - do some shopping around. This is how the consultation works. Firstly, the lady did not seem very happy - no smiling no hand shake. In fact, she seemed like she was afraid of me for some reason. I'm thinking because I didn't speak in her native tongue. You'd think that in the medical industry, trust, open and honesty should be a selling factor. So you tell them your concerns and target area. They take a look, then evaulate, and then put on a show to make it seem like your condition is five times worse than it really is. Fear was her selling tool. In my case, they determined that I would have to come in five times, totaling a cost of $1,000. Prepared to fork up the amount, I asked about the different payment plans, options, and alternatives; I could tell the asst. was getting very annoyed even though she kept putting on a fake smile. You'd think that if they were going to cut up my face, they would want to make me trust them as my possible practitioner if they wanted me to overpay. I can't help but to think that the whole mood of the consultation was set the minute I did not greet them back in their native language. In the end, I was smart enough to go to Dr. Sandra Kopp at the Manhattan Center for Dermatology, 250 West 57th Street, Suite 825. (212) 489-6669. Guess what it costed me with Dr. Kopp - as opposed to the $1,000; I only had to pay a quarter of the price, of $250. It took five minutes, I asked plenty of questions which was answered with no rush or impatience, and I already see the results after ONE VISIT. She even said if I WANTED to, I can come back for a second time if I wasn't happy enough with it. No pressure here. read more

BEWARE! Lee Dermatology will not, and informed me that it does not think it has the responsibility to, tell the patient about out of pocket costs. It is common practice by every doctor that I ever visited to give me an estimate of how much my out of pocket will be PRIOR to the visit so I can decide whether it is too expensive. However, Lee Dermatology is the first to actually refuse to allow me to make an informed decision about cost, slammed me without notice with a bill that I did not consent to, for almost $150 for a routine 10 minute initial visit that did not entail any procedures. read more

I guess i got the best doctor in the LEE dermotology, Diana Sun. She made the right diagnostic right away.... She is very gentle and polite. However, the receptionist is rude and arrogant. The other staffs are friendly. But i think they are really mainly focused on the cosmetic aspect of the business, so they really don't take time to explain to patients who has "real problem" with their skin. So i would suggest you go else where for caring doctors and receptionist who would treat us as customers and not just a "cashed checks". I should've written this review a year ago, but I'll write it now in hopes that it will help some people spend their valuable time and money elsewhere. I was suffering from pretty severe adult acne when Dr. Lee recommended that I get laser treatments at his cosmetic office. Contrary to what some people have suggested here, I actually found their cosmetic staff more horrendous than the receptionists sitting at the main office -- at least you won't have to deal with them once your appointment has been set. The staff at Dr. Lee's cosmetic office tend to dual-task as receptionists and aestheticians, which means their advice on skincare regimes is pretty ill-informed and sometimes just plain wrong. I ended up wasting a four-digit figure at the cosmetic office before I realized that laser treatments were only a temporary fix and not an actual treatment for moderate to severe acne. So I moved on to a reputable dermatology in the city, where I was told that laser treatments would not have worked on my acne condition and any conscientious dermatology should've recommended that I seek a more comprehensive treatment much earlier in the process. I started taking Accutane soon afterwards, and the acne that I thought would never go away disappeared completely within six months. Yeah, it turns out miracles do happen. I don't blame Dr. Lee for marketing his cosmetology services. Insurance doesn't cover cosmetic treatments, so naturally they're a lot more profitable from the doctor's perspective. But I spent so much money on something that was never going to bring me the results that he promised, and he knew that I would have to return when the problems surfaced again -- spending more money each time. Here's my final thought. A few years ago, cosmetology offices were much more hard to come by and a good one was especially hard to find. That's not the case now. Plenty of big names like Bliss Spa are starting to offer comparable services at a fraction of Dr. Lee's prices, where licensed, fully trained, professional staff take care of your skin by catering to your individual needs. There is absolutely no reason that anyone should go out of their way to go to a half-assed joint like Dr. Lee's cosmetology office where the staff are barely trained (wtf is the hiring process?) and seem to favor clients who "tip" them under the table. My advice: Explore other dermatologists and beauty spas, you'd be surprised how many wonderful doctors and beauticians are out there if you're willing to travel a little far from Flushing. Forest Hills, Manhattan, you name it. And yes, trust the yelp reviews. This particular dermatology has been around for a very long time, and Dr. Lee doesn't have a single positive review under his belt. If you're looking for an honest medical practice at his office, you won't find it there. read more

In fairness, it's been years since I've been here. But while looking for a dermatologist recently I remembered my terrible past experience with Dr. Lee Hyun Soo. For Korean people out there, just because you are Korean doesn't mean you have to go to a Korean dermatologist. There are much better Doctors out there who actually care about their patients. Lee Hyun-Soo botched a simple biopsy on my shoulder that left a large permanent scar. They also recommend expensive experimental procedures that aren't covered by insurance. This place is awesome. I have severe acne scars from high school, and it's mostly ice pick and boxcars. I spend around $10000 for my skin but it didn't show improvements I wanted, which is to focus on the scars and nothing else. My consultation was very friendly, and no pressure of purchasing things together. They kindly explained to me difference of the treatments depend on the scars, what is best for me, and pricing. I wanted to see my result before I purchase anything further, and they respected me. I've been to three sessions so far, and I would love to continue coming to this place. My results is excellent and it's only going to be better after my two more sessions. I am getting a treatment called subcision. After I'm done with this, they recommended another treatment but I am going to save my money first and come back, because they truly know what they are talking about and they prove it with the results. It's more than a money, when you actually see the result.. I've been to many other places in different cities but this is the most satisfying result I got. Your time, money, and pain is completely worth it here. I don't know why they have all these bad reviews... because I am seriously recommending them to all my friends with acne problem. I always goes into the tiny side door on the right at their lobby, and it's mostly Korean people there, and they are very friendly. All the times I have gone dr molina always saw me, I was called into the room to see the doctor and I had to wait about 20-30 min just sitting there for the doctor to come around . Dr Molina always rushed she never listened to what I had to say or was concerned. All the times I have gone she told me the same thing and I kept going back for the same problem which was back acne. I go to this office to get a laser treatment , Dr. Lee Never talk/consult to laser treatment patients. I paid over $2,000 ! I can only talk to a nurse(?)/coordinator. She is not friendly either and doesn't seem to be a nurse. Just like a sales person. What kinds of Doctor doesn't talk with patients directly and does a laser treatment even charge a lot of money? This is not a medical office, it's some type of money sucking vortex. I made an appointment to see a dermatologist, a specialist. I go in for my appointment and a woman walks in with two physician assistant students from St. John's, something I realized from reading their lab coats. First of all, when you see a patient for the first time, you introduce yourself and whoever the fuck you decide to bring into a private medical consultation. i wasn't there for a cosmetic facial procedure, I was there for a legitimate medical concern. Introduce yourself, tell me your name and your position. Then she writes a bunch of prescriptions for products that I have used before and didn't work, without even asking me about it. I declined to buy the products when the receptionist brings them to me. A RECEPTIONIST. The "doctor" I spoke with didn't even mention any medications to me during our 5 minute conversation. Then I get a bill from my insurance company for a visit with a physician assistant. Excuse me? When I made an appt it was for a dermatology specialist. Not a physicians assistant. I called the office to complain and Gina the office manager's response was "why didn't you ask if she was a doctor?" I don't know, Gina, because when you make an appointment with a doctor's office you assume you'll be seeing a doctor?? Call me crazy. Then Gina's comments gets increasingly more immature, she tells me " You don't have to pay if you don't want to". Then I said "So you can send my bill to collections?" Then she said the most unprofessional, childish thing ever uttered to me by an adult "you're just mad because you didn't get the medication you wanted". Good bye Gina. I have to say... I haven't been there in many years. but when I did go as a long time patient I always felt like they treated me right... even back then the waiting time was always long...Now as an adult with acne scarring I figure its time to treat myself and get rid of them... unfortunately, after reading all these bad reviews I was hesitate to return... even though they treated me right in the past.. two reasons come to mind why I decided not to go back... one I don't have insurance to cover cosmetic stuff so if services have gotten bad, I don't want to waste my money to find out.. and two.. when I called to make an appointment with Dr. Sun they scheduled me with Dr. Lee... now it might not mean a lot but I find it very deceitful, especially when I asked for Dr. Sun, it was only when I was confirming did the receptionist say it was with Dr. Lee. That's when I decided to cancel the appt. Its such a shame, I'm giving them a 4 because of the services they had provided to me many years ago.. i been coming to dr lee's office for 9 years now. i am very disappointed at this doctors office for many reasons. the front desk(seogme) is very rude, unfriendly and no customer service. follow up is $70 but if you don't come back within 3 years theyll charge you $110 as new patient due to their "policy" which i think is ridiculous since follow up literally only takes about few minutes. as years pass, the office is going down hills. i wouldn't recommend this dermatologist office. it feels like they don't care about helping you, just want to make money off you. ill go somewhere else where they're kind to you. read more

Dr. is very informative, gave me several options for my condition and since treating with him for the past 3 months, my condition has improved considerably. I would recommend him hands down!!!! I was initially referred to this practice by my PCP when I was a student. I met Dr Lee and he was very thorough with his evaluation. I responded positively to the medications he prescribed and I was later weaned off them. I was running low on my refills and went for a second visit where I met with Dr. Diane Sun. For a few years things were fine but then my skin and lips took a turn for the worse. I believed it is was for a different diagnosis since I presented with unfamiliar symptoms. I made an impromptu appointment. The earliest I can see the doctor was in two weeks and the PA was only available. I'm a pharmacist so I thought a PA and I could figure it out. When she saw me she brushed off my concern and just refilled my old meds. I just prayed my problem would go away on its own. Nope. I'm now making my own concoction to heal my skin. I'm just fortunate I know my drugs but God forbid another poor soul. I am definitely changing doctor. read more

I went here to treat my acne.. He prescribed me a cream and antibiotics, which made my acne 10x WORSE. I mentioned a cream my friend recommended and he blew me off! After a month on the cream he prescribed, i went back to talk to him about my progress.. Obviously because it wasn't working (When i say 10x worse, I am not exaggerating) he recommended another pill to take, but said it could cause loss of night time vision... I immediately said no, because why would i want to risk my eyesight for acne?! He got upset!! He then offered another pill, but wouldn't describe the side effects.. He just simply said "Young people don't get side effects". I ran out of the dermatology office CRYING. Not only did his cream make my face 10x worse, he had no sympathy towards how anything would make me feel!!! He just got MAD AT ME because i denied his first form of treatment. Horrible consultation. Despite the fact I told him the liquid nitrogen spray did not work from previous dermatologists he still insists on using it for my warts. After I tell him the surgery I had on 3 warts was successful and that carbolic acid was removing the other warts slowly. I asked him if he could write me a prescription for the acid or any type. Exact words were I do not do surgical procedures for warts, I only do surgical procedures for skin cancer and other skin growthes. Do not go to this doctor as he is clueless or just trying to get me to come back multiple times for the extra cash. There are much better dermatologists in nyc. read more

I am a student who was suffering from severe cystic acne and was prescribed Accutane by Dr. Hyun Soo Lee located at 500 Grand Ave. Suite #201 Englewood, NJ 07631 at Lee Dermatology. After finishing my first course of Accutane approximately three months ago I experienced several episodes of acne breakouts and as a result I decided to consult Dr. Lee again today at his New Jersey office. During my visit, I attempted to discuss several treatment options including a second course of Accutane with Dr. Lee, but I was appalled by his incredibly rude attitude and condescending demeanor when I tried to voice my concerns and questions. Not only did he blatantly ignore and downplay several of my comments on treatment options, but he even went do far as to voice his annoyance of having to repeat his explanations for me, stating: "I've already told you twice already do I have to say it a third time?" at one point in the conversation. I feel that in any situation involving a medical physician a patient should never have to hesitate to ask the attending physician to repeat the underlying rationale behind a treatment option. I felt highly offended and rather shocked at the end of the appointment and as a result was not able to ask any further questions about the prescribed topical ointment in the few seconds before he quickly walked out of the door. I understand that Dr. Lee is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology which is a respected organization that strives to maintain a high standard of of care among it's membership. As a premedical student who is in the process of applying to medical schools in the hopes of becoming a dermatologist himself, I was honestly very disappointed by Dr. Lee's attitude and his disrespect of the patient-doctor dynamic that hold sanctity in any medically related field. The ABD should maintain a high standard of qualification for its prospective members that not only takes into account the medical aptitude of a licensed dermatologist, but also his or her ability to interact with a patient in an honest, respectful, and ultimately hospitable manner. In summary, I would overall NOT recommend Dr. Hyun Soo Lee and would recommend seeing any other doctor who doesn't have a big stick up their a** like he does. read more

Recommended by my mother I started going there for almost a year and my skin has worshened far more than before.... long wait until they call my name and take 5 mins to ask questions.. why not take a look at my skin for even 5 minutes?
