My visit to Schweiger Dermatology was for a skin screening and Dr. Diakow was everything I hoped for. She was professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. She took care of a medical problem I had immediately and I was very impressed with her skillful and careful application of the procedure I needed. Because she made me feel so relaxed I had the courage to discuss some cosmetic work I wanted to have done but had put off for a long time. Had several visits with this PA and was able to treat accordingly due to inexperienced. Provided steroids which duh - basic 101. Was not able to dig deeper into her tool box and think outside the box. Finally was so annoyed by her nonsense and had to find a more experienced with a higher degree and experience dermo outside of this facility. DE eczema and she unable to undiagnosed because I was told she has never seen anything like this skin condition before and don't know what else to do me..really??? pathetic. I've seen Dr Diakow for a few years now. She's friendly and attentive overall, listens and seems to care, and she's also done some in-office cosmetic procedures for me. I recently went for a procedure and didn't find the nurse who came into the room friendly or helpful at all. Once the doctor was done, she said to wait and the nurse would come to check in on me. She never did and when I went to walk out, the nurse gave me a weird look, almost annoyed I was still there. I asked if I'm good to go and she shrugged and said, "I guess so." I said that I wasn't sure and the doctor said a nurse would come check in but no one did. She then shrugged again and said, "well if that's what the doctor said..." She then proceeded to say, "That's $400 up front" (I was getting a cosmetic procedure.) LOL as if I didn't know what I needed to pay? Why would she feel the need to say that to me since she's not even the front desk receptionist who takes the payment?? There was no care, helpfulness, a genuine smile, patient service or kindness from her. And that's uncommon, as all the staff here is usually very nice, polite, and friendly. Maybe she was just having an off morning. But still, I don't think that's a proper justification. The doctor (afterwards, I saw her in passing and mentioned that the nurse didn't come in to check on me / let me know I'm good to leave) did say they were a bit short staffed that morning. read more

Very expensive and improperly performed aesthetic services with little to no help or sense of urgency if they need follow up or corrections. If you do use this office for aesthetic procedures, be aware that the prices may drastically change with no forewarning. Plan to request the full pricing prior to the service at EACH visit. I used this office for aesthetic procedures with the idea that they would be best/most safely performed by professionals, but unfortunately they "botched" the service with very little help to resolve and at very high costs. read more

I had gone to Schweiger Dermatology office in Queens about three times for a service that was not covered through my insurance. The first two times there was no hiccups. The last time I went and paid out of pocket for the service. I then was notified by my insurance company they had billed them for services as well. The office then sent me a bill for a copay payment. They have charged me three times for a service that I had already paid for out of pocket. They are money hungry! I have called multiple times to get answers as to why this visit was being billed differently than my previous visits. Customer service is a joke, it's impossible to get anyone with any answers on the phone. I will not be returning here and do not recommend! An unprofessional, uncaring, money making outfit. Some of the doctors are fine but they don't stay. They are transferred. I had a 2 o'clock follow up appoint with a physician's assistant that I had not seen before. I got there on time and the office was locked!! They never showed up! When I called, I finally got a person, who told me "oh, no one called you? She didn't feel well and didn't come in"! No notification. After three years of coming here, I will never be returning ever again because of the horrible service from the receptionists. I come here for acne treatment on my face and after each visit, when I don't see any improvement ... I still gave it a chance. The waiting room was empty and they refused to see me after I said I lived far and said I had ubered there. This place has outrageous customer service. They called me this afternoon to reschedule my appointment for the THIRD TIME. When they called to reschedule last time, I said to the woman on the phone, "Okay, we're scheduling this date. Are you going to reschedule it AGAIN?" And she replied, "No, I promise you it won't be reschedule again." I have to say that even before stepping into the office, the over the phone interactions were amazing. I had tried another local office and it was seriously like pulling teeth, JUST to make an appointment. That's when I called my insurance and asked if they cover Schweiger as they were also highly recommended. As soon as they gave me the "ok", I called and Chris was great over the phone. Super friendly, courteous and professional. He provided me with everything needed for my appointment. Arrived at the office and the young lady at the front desk was yet again, great. Medical Assistant that prepped me for the doctor, friendly and made me feel comfortable. Finally, met Dr. Friedman and she was wonderful! I was actually super nervous because I didn't know what to expect from the appointment. However, step by step, she made sure I was not feeling pain and if so, she would take care of it. My annual skin screening at Schweiger Dermatology was everything a trip to a dermatologist should be. The medical assistant Carolann saw me right away and had me in the room in no time. Dr. Diakow was incredibly detailed in checking me over and answered any and all questions I had. I also had some skin tags removed, Dr. Diakow was very careful, considering it was my first time ever having anything of the sort being done to my skin. It was so hard getting in contact with Doctor Veronika. It is already one week since I have been waiting for them to contact me, and you can't communicate with them directly. You have to call first like the "base" They text the doctor's office and they get in contact with you. It is now Friday I called on Monday. On Wednesday when I call again, It seems like the guy was upset already with me. He started to get attitude. It was early in the morning. Well, I don't want to blame him but I don't feel like I needed to receive that attitude I am trying to get help with some medicine which I am not using since I am not sure how to use it. Dr. Shivani, Abi and Stephanie are great, very professional, welcoming and extremely professional. Schweiger Dermatology has a good concept of customer service, very efficient scheduling and intake system. I went to have a mole checked and a biopsy was needed. Dr. Shivani explained all steps of the procedure, from checking the mole, taking a picture for the records, to applying local anesthesia and cutting out the mole. In a follow up visit I got additional information on skin cancer, its prevention and correct skin care. Bed side manners and warmth are exceptional and seldom found in NYC. I went and saw Alana the PA for a alopecia problem. I was horrified that my beautiful hair started to fall out...PRACTICALLY OVERNIGHT. I didn't know that Alopecia is such a horrible condition. (It causes round spots of hair loss in your head.....I WAS FRANTIC.... Alana, and her assistant (a wonderful nurse) went and searched every inch of my scalp....she then started with the injections. I have been going to Schweiger Dermatology for a bit more than a year. I love that their office is close to my home and that they are very accommodating when it comes to scheduling appointments. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Dr Shalom is amazing and has helped me to finally control my acne. I had seen many dermatologists in the past (including fancy places in Manhattan) and was never able to control this issue until I started my treatment with her. My Dr @ Schweiger was not available and needed to be seen and so I had the good fortune to get Shivani Thakker a PA who works there. Over the years I have seen lots of PA's at Dermatology offices in the city and Queens but never had the privilege of having someone like Shivani taking care of me..She has the most lovely, caring professional manner and like that she's cautious and conservative and very honest when giving her opinions. While I have had mainly good experiences @ Schweiger since I've been a patient there Shivani is the best and truly wish that some of the Dr's I've seen over the years unrelated to dermatology possessed her bedside manner and caring demeanor. I have seen her only 2x but intend to continue have already referred a friend and hope she never leaves the Forest Hills office. read more

First of all if I could leave no stars I absolutely would. I don't do reviews either but after the way I was treated I felt compelled. Since the pandemic is been a nightmare to get into see a specialist, waiting on average 4 months. Schweiger got me in on a week. However between me patient paperwork and my actual consultation I wasn't in the building 20 minutes. With no help infact my issue wasn't even addressed because my primary care prescribed something to ease symptoms. This as it was said directly, made it "illegal to treat" me. I was directed to come back when I was no longer using the perscribed medication. 2 weeks late I stopped and called to make an emergency visit as the symptoms have worsened dramatically. I was in the next day.... This time I was 5 minutes late(because I had to return to me car for a mask) and had to to beg to be seen at i was marked a no show by the same women who led me to go get a mask at the desk. Whatever... I get in to see the doctor. I was in with her for less than 5 minutes... As I try to explain what was happening she cut me off two me to go home and collect "sample". At this point I'm admittedly annoyed having Driven an hour to the office and ask if I could just be examined. Again I was cut off at she'd already concluded the appointment and was out the door. My problem is very evident and had she taken any time at all to actually listen or look I would of been satisfied however this being the second appointment this happened at I'm beyond annoyed and will not return. I don't know if it's just the one doctor or they way the practice is run but it's a joke and I guarantee I'll get an outrageous bill for absolutely nothing. read more

Dr. Shivani Thakker is absolutely amazing, I've had variety of skin problems, from acne & hyperpigmentation to severe eczema. But my review comes mostly from the eczema, a painful red, rash all around my mouth, eyes and both hands. She was mindful of the fact that I was breastfeeding and tried everything before moving slowly into a steroid cream which helped immensely. Kudos to her for remembering the little things like my baby's name. She's extremely knowledgeable and takes her time with you. Remember, before she comes in to see you she's taking the time to review your file. Even though the visits are short, they always end up with good results. It's hard to find a good dermatologist these days. One that's kind and welcoming. I 100% recommend Dr. Thakker, you won't regret it. Also, to the all the staff - they are all very kind. I've been to many Schweiger Dermatology locations, due to moving jobs or convenience and this one is by far the best one! read more

I was not happy with the service. I came because I keep getting a rash like appearing in my face. The PA saw me not the doctor ever. If I knew I was going to be seen by just the PA I would of never gone & saved my 30 dollar copay. The PA stated it's an allergic reaction to something. I said ok what can we do about it? She states the allergy test they have required THREE consistent days to do. As a full time employee and mother. Please tell me who has three days out of their life to miss work to take an allergy test. Of course I said no and that was basically my visit. It was less than 15 mins of someone just looking at my face staring you have allergist and I went on my merry way. read more

After having a horrific experience with another dermatology office, I decided to try my luck here at Schweiger Dermatology. I liked how all patient forms were sent beforehand (theyre paperless- YAY to saving paper.) So you save time and energy when you get there. My appointment was for 6:40PM, and I got there at 6:00pm, they were able to see me right away. When I got there, I was the only patient in the office so it does not look like they over book. Dr Shavvani took the time to write my treatment down on paper for me giving concise directions and made sure I understood everything. The only thing I did not like was that they needed to record your credit card information in for late cancellations etc. I never provided information like this for a doctors office before. It gives the impression that the office does not trust it's patients. I opted for them to swipe my card information instead of copying it down on paper for them. Havent begun my treatment for my eczema yet but I will update in another month! read more

I went to this center mostly because of high (but shrinking) ratings on yelp. The nurse practitioner's prescriptions didn't help the condition, and when I called in for a follow-up appointment they wanted to charge me for the appointment. In other words, the more they don't treat people, the more they make money. What a beautiful world! This is not just one dermatological center, but a big business owning many centers and you don't contact your physician directly. You talk to call centers. When it comes to business, profitability is likely number one priority. I would say: stay away. read more

I had an appointment today 01/27 at 2:00pm for a cyst removal and the girl at the front desk Marcela is the most unprofessional , nasty and rude person I ever encountered in a medial office. She said the provider who does the cyst removal left for the day and no one can do the cyst removal and your here for a consult which I already explain to her I had a consult already and she did not apologize for messing up my appointment and I explained to her I took work off and she did not care no sympathy and did not try to help me whatsoever. I asked for a list of places so I can remove my cyst she denied me and said I can call and get it myself and refused to give me her name as well. She needs to be fired because that is horrific customer service!!! She left in the waiting room not saying anything to me if I was going to be called in she was more worried about her chipotle then the patient. I have high anxiety for cyst removals so I brought my spouse with me to help calm my nerves and she asked if he had an appointment I said no he is with me and she said he needs to leave and saying he shouldn't be here screaming at my spouse instead of solving the issue with me. I was completely choke up with the whole situation that was even hard to speak with nurse practitioner (Veronika Vays) about my cyst and the situation that happen with the front desk girl. I would hope you take this feedback because she does not need to be the front face of who the patients seen. She clearly hates her job.
