First time coming here, soley came here for some exclusive SARO non alcoholic hard cider to take back home. Large liquor section but the non alcoholic section was fair. After finding the drink I was looking for. Afterwards I walked around the store just to browse around and get a vibe. Store is full of aisles but it does lack healthy options. Pretty reminiscent to a Giant Eagle supermarket in Ohio. Check out lines aren't too bad. Plenty of parking, easy access to the streets. read more

The restaurant is filthy. If you want to evaluate a return look around. The clieling tiles by the air vents are black, meaning they haven't been cleaned or replaced in years. There are speakers covered in greasy dirt. Look at the top of napkin dispensers on each table. They have a layer of embedded dirt across the tops. They haven't been cleaned in a long, long time. I won't eat at a place this dirty. Shame on Hy Vee! read more

We are visiting from out of town and staying in an airbnb so we stopped in HyVee to pick up a few grocery items. The store was clean and well organized. We found almost everything we needed. I was a little disappointed to find the health food section was considerably smaller than back home so they didn't have a few of the items I was hoping to find. That said, we noticed they did have a wider variety of items in other departments in comparison to our home HyVee. I would shop here again. We used self checkout so I can't comment on the service. read more

a friend and I went to the Starbucks here and the employee working was very rude, it was a blonde girl with a "K" necklace on and all she said was "anything else" in a very rude tone, no "that will be right out for you" or "thank you" only "anything else" not to mention, our drinks were not made to the normal standard they are, not even mixed or shaken up. Another thing to consider about hyvee is the multiple encounters with weird employees, one to even come up to my friend and I telling us he enjoys talking to "pretty little girls". After that encounter we proceeded to call hyvee about it and they promised to call back updating us on letting go of the employee, and we never got a call back. we will continue coming to hyvee, but we do not appreciate this service. read more

The Peony Park Hy-Vee has gotten rid of all its express lanes. Now it's either a long line for a full-service checker, or self-checkout. I can see why they did it, because they only need one attendant for four self-service terminals versus four checkers for four express lanes. It's negative for the customer, though. I needed the attendant three separate times on my last trip to self service. First, you can't input your telephone number to get fuel saver savings like you can at Baker's. Instead you need the physical card, which I don't carry, or the attendant has to enter it. Two other minor incidents also required waiting for attendant help. Hy-Vee is not cheap and part of the appeal is its customer service. No express lanes removes that saving grace. read more

Hy-vee is Fabulous for Dry Cleaning. Seriously they have the best Dry Cleaning in town. They have a great selections of beers and spirits. They are a bit more expensive compared to your other grocery chains but also a little cleaner. The Meat department is iffy. They have no options for Pork that are not filled with solutions to extend shelf life. The Beef is the most expensive in town and not justified with quality or prime. I have found the last few years to walk through the meat dept and leave frustrated and disappointed. The produce options are usually hit and miss. They do have some good pasta selections and I really like the dry cleaning. As far as Supermarkets go they are on the upper end of the major supermarkets. read more

Service for online shopping has really gone downhill, with overcharges and incorrect orders more often than not. Their "sale" prices, if you look, are often higher than other stores every day prices. Their latest fuel saver discount apparently does not apply to online orders. I'm done, I'm gonna give Baker's a chance to earn my business. read more

I ordered food from this hyvee store the 3 piece tenders and the bbq sauce was way to spicy felt like i ate a habanero pepper no indication of the sauce being spicy. The food also didn't have any flavor very plane. read more

It takes 48 hours to get a reply via email. I called the phone number on my credit card statement and have been on hold now for over 15 minutes. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT ONE OF THEIR STORES EVER AGAIN. This HyVee is not my regular store, but it is a go-to when I am in the area and have a need. When Dad was in the nearby Methodist Hospital, I came here for flowers for him and some snacks for those of us sitting by his bed for many long hours. And I'm back again for something needed as we're headed elsewhere. It's easy to get here off Dodge, and the selection and layout are familiar and ample. The staff is mostly friendly, the same as I've come to expect from any HyVee. Just a word of caution, though: the neighborhood is fine during the day, but as a single, small female, I do not feel comfortably safe at night. read more

Love this Hy-vee but the ONLY reason they are getting 3 stars is the self checkout lines and no 12 items or less line. If I have 2 items or 100 items I want to be checked out not do it myself. I go to Hy-Vee for the service and pay extra for that service. I don't go there so I can work for free, if I wanted to do that I'd go to Walmart up the street and pay less. read more

I thought this was an asian store hence the name. but it's like a Ralphs or Albertsons. Their prices for steak was pretty cheap! New York steak $4 for 8oz. Honestly, pretty much every Hy-Vee store drives me crazy. The Peony Park location is probably my favorite of the lot, but I always find it to be a bit too crowded with only so-so prices. Their bakery? Meh. Meat counter? Meh. Deli? Ick. To-go Chinese? Yuk. Buffet? Not even gonna go there. And I honestly feel ashamed of myself whenever I've come home with generic Hy-Vee brand food. Still, the staff at this location have always been super-nice and helpful. And I have found their post office to be quite convenient (it's a great place to avoid the long lines that always pop up at USPS branches). And I guess they'll dry clean your clothes, too? And rent you your favorite rom-coms? And there's a health clinic? Too much going on here to really comprehend it all. Maybe that's part of the problem for me. But let's get down to why I go here -- I'm talking the liquor department. Seriously, this Hy-Vee has a superior booze selection than just about any other place in town. Besides a great selection of Scotch, Irish whiskey, rye and bourbon (along with any other type of the hard stuff), their selection of craft beer is top notch. I realize it's 4$, but this was a sad effort at something they call a deli sandwich. Flavorless, dry, boring. It's nothing more than fuel for the bod, and that is being generous. I only go there when there's a special sale. In this case they had pork shoulder for $0.99 per pound. It has his big irregularly shaped bone I guess is the scapula that takes some fancy carving with a sharp boning knife. You can cut it into sections and cook either with a pressure cooker or one of the newfangled electric pressure cookers also known as multi cookers, which do browning . With the very tender pulled pork you can experiment with as many different sauces as you want and make multitudes of sammies. Great for party entertaining or just small company gluttony. read more

This Hy-Vee location has a great salad bar. During the week, I go there every day to get a salad. It's a fairly busy salad bar, so always a few other people there getting salad at the same time. Also, I've witnessed HyVee employees constantly stocking the salad bar. They always wear gloves and have done this in a very sanitary method. It seems like the crab on the salad bar is pretty popular because they are always stocking that a lot. They always have a nice selection of fruit on the salad bar, and several different types of pasta salad to choose from. The staff in the store have always been friendly and helpful. I've also bought some really nice plants from the floral area. One of the best Hy-Vees in the surrounding area. read more

Generally, I like Hy-Vee and would prefer to shop there if price and convenience of products I liked were of no issue, but MOST times I shop here there is a wrong price issue in regard to how my things rung up. So frequent are there wrong prices on my receipt, I don't go 15 feet from the check out before walking towards customer service for an expected reimbursement. I have had this problem before at other Hy Vee's in Iowa, but this one is the most prolific violator. Personally, I think they know of this and don't really care cause most people don't look at their receipts and it always benefits Hy Vee. read more

I really enjoy grocery shopping at this store! The staff is always friendly! I enjoy the options of available hot food (italian, asian, chicken etc) as well as foods they can make for you-a great menu along with daily dinner specials! They typically offer a variety of local produce as well. The meat selection is delightful as well and the butcher staff is always helpful with any grilling or cooking questions I have. This store also has a great "health" food section as well-as indicated by the wood floors. The option to shop for everything my family needs in one place and at a competitive price is what keeps me coming back weekly! read more

I was getting my tires fixed next door at discount tire so I walked to hy vee to pass the time. I ended up getting more than anticipated. I forgot my fuel saver card was on my key chain with my car down the street. I wish I got the lady's name that helped me because she was so nice. She helped me with the fuel saver card so I got the right prices and she offered to let me leave my grocery cart there in the store until my car was done so I didn't have to walk back carrying everything. I'm so impressed with Hy-Vee. For the first few months of the pandemic they delivered free to people over 60. I now use Aisles on Line and the people working in that area are fantastic. Very customer service oriented and they bend over backwards to help you. I also drive up to pick up groceries and there is a super nice kid named Tyler who often brings them out. Never had a problem with Hy-Vee, love the fuel saver cards and clean stores. Would rather pay a little extra per item to know the bakery is clean and taken care of. They have some online services but last time I tried to use them it felt like someone was dragging me through a geosite webpage. Bakers definitely has them beat there. I had a really great experience with the HyVee bakery. I placed a simple order giving very little detail for a graduation cake, requesting that they use Creighton's colors of blue and white. When I picked up the cake, I was SO impressed. They spruced up the cake with little graduation caps and diplomas. They did a spectacular job with taking the little details I gave them and running with it. Thank you to whoever made my cake! I was thrilled with how it turned out! Had a gift card her and tried a few of the food experiences multiple times in December. The pasta I ordered had meatballs that could only be described as gamey and I seriously doubted the safety of the meat and quit eating it. The sauce was super sweet and not edible either and I ended up tossing the meal. A chicken dinner found dry meat and very bland sides. A meal from the Chinese portion of the food area had the most success with fresh tasting pork, rice and a decent crab rangoon. Sadly on that visit I stood by the food register all alone waiting for quite some time for someone to come help me. They looked like they just got back from break. I was the only one there-so it would make sense I guess to take a break...but that was quite the wait. More than likely not going to try any take out food from here in the future. read more

I was looking for brunch at Hy-Vee on Sunday and I was impressed. Even at 10am there is a wide selection of food from Italian to Chinese to sandwiches to salad bar. There was also a Sunday brunch breakfast buffet. I got some Chinese as they were finishing their prep so all the food was very fresh. Good crab rangoon. I got the cashew chicken and pepper beef in a combo that was on sale for $5.99. Good stuff. It's not a restaurant, there are a lot of food selections and then a cashier - like a cafeteria cashier. Then you can sit where you want or take the food home. They say never go shopping on an empty stomach, so go eat first. read more

This Hy-Vee is a 'village' store with everything from credit union to restaurant to more. The produce section is large and of good quality. The name brand products I like seem to be priced higher than at other large grocery stores. I find the overshadowing of name brand products by Hy-Vee substitutes frustrating, as the Hy-Vee products are not of the same quality. read more
