Never seen beef bacon look so much like pork.

Quality control may be an issue. What was labeled 'beef bacon' was actually pork. The staff said it was beef. When I got home, I cooked the pork bacon called them back and they didn't seem concerned at all. Glad I'm not Jewish, thanks...

Went here for the first time this past weekend to pick up a steak and it was a great experience. I've been hearing about this place for a while and I've wanted to check it out. You walk into a row of coolers that contain a lot of various meats and to the left is the counter. A great view and setup. All of the staff is extremely nice and the manager?/co-owner?/employee told me the story of the place and its pretty cool. There's a farm between Underwood and Crescent.....ask them and they'll tell you. Cool, little story. The Ribeye's are dry-aged for 40 days(?) and the rest of their steaks are dry-aged for at least 14 days. The meat looked great and it tasted even better. I got a NY Strip, Heavy D Steak, some wieners, brats, and hot dog buns. The total was about $25. You pay somewhat of a premium but it's local, they butcher it at the shop, and the meat is a step above the rest IMO. All in all this was a great experience and I will definitely be going back.

Stopped in last Saturday for steaks and discovered fresh made cinnamon rolls! I couldn't resist. They were still warm and so good! I also recently tried the cherrywood smoked bacon and canadian bacon and both are excellent.

Cowboy ribeye. Incredible sous vide for 3 hours at 128 and then seated off on a cast iron.

Sorry no pics. I have been too busy munching....next time Gadget...Next time…read more... Anyhow, onto the food. I went to Pinkerton's in San Antonio Texas, and the BBQ was unbelievable there. Just amazing. I have also had the BBQ in the KC MCI Airport where they serve really good drafts alongside their really good BBQ. These guys are not like Pinkerton's where you are in a line up picking out your meats and sides cafeteria style. This place was the sit down with a menu and make your selections type of place. This is not a downside by any means...just different than what I experienced in Texas, more like the place at the MCI Airport. Anyways, hubby, son, and I selected the burnt ends, pulled pork, chicken, kielbasa sausage, double order of brisket, and ribs. Sides we chose included slaw, Mac n cheese, cornbread, and fried onions. All of the sides were really tasty, I can't choose a favorite, because I really liked all of them. The meats were all tender, the chicken was slightly on the drier side, but the rib meat fell off the bone, the sausage was juicy, the pulled pork was just right in flavor and tenderness, the burnt ends were amazing, and the brisket was tender and quite flavorful. And on the side of all of this loveliness were the sauces. You got 3 kinds to choose from: Spicy, sweet, and the traditional bbq. I liked all three. Hubby liked to mix all 3 together. And son of mine preferred the sweet one. We were dead silent aside from the sounds of yum coming from us. It reminded us of the MCI airport bbq place. Servers were pleasant, the place was clean as well. This was a very pleasant surprise to find here in Omaha. I will most definitely come back again!

We traveled a few blocks for fresh homemade Italian dishes, along with a number of neighbors who had the same idea. Arriving at 5:45-shortly after the 5:30 start time, we were surprised at the line that quickly multiplied with families taking advantage of the great weather and playground equipment that kept the young ones occupied. A wide variety of menu options were available including fresh pasta with a choice of alfredo, marinara or meat sauce. Meatball, brats and Italian sausage subs topped the sandwich offerings. Hamburgers and fries were offered but I didn't see or hear anyone ordering from the grill. A children's menu and family feast were also listed on the hand lettered menus taped to the truck. I ordered the fresh pasta with meat sauce and added a meatball. My husband opted for the Italian sausage sub with potato salad. My entree came with a breadstick and the meat sauce was so packed with meat that I probably could have skipped the added meatballs. My husband raved about his Italian sausage sandwich and I was impressed that they wrapped the bun in foil to keep it from soaking up sauce on the trip home. We had a short 5-7 minute wait for our meals which was delivered in foam takeout containers. Plastic napkin wrapped silverware was available for those eating in the park. The young lady taking orders was well equipped for the crowd and kept the line moving very efficiently. Credit cards were accepted and someone from the kitchen shouted a "thanks for coming" as we exited with our order. Food truck Friday is a welcome addition in our neighborhood and Pomodoro's did not disappoint.
