We came to this hyvee for a breakfast with the Grinch and it was fun for the kids! The breakfast buffet was discounted to 12.99, and kids ate free so it was overall a good value, which was nice as the buffet wasn't anything spectacular. The Grinches that walked around really made for a great experience and memorable for the kids. We did get a free onion out of it, so I'll take .90 cents off the bill. read more

Heather McCoy and her crew at Starbucks saved my day when my coffee order for over 100 people was not filled at the stand alone Starbucks. They helped me get my snacks, fill (so many) coffee jugs and were outstanding to work with. From now on, I will just go straight to them for my catering needs. read more

I detest Hy-Vee because of the way they rip people off with their ridiculously high prices and crappy produce compared to almost every other grocery store in Omaha. I successfully weaned myself off of them over 2 years ago, shopping almost exclusively at ALDI since then. Great produce and low prices. However due to it being New Year's Day and ALDI caring enough about their employees to give them the day off, I stopped to get a tub of Hy-Vee's spring mix salad. I was upset in the first place that I had to go there but figured " hey it's only one tub of salad, no big deal". I get home, crack open the tub of salad and it's rotten. Expiration date January 5th and the salad is rotten and inedible. I cannot describe how upset I was, but mostly with myself for allowing me to think that Hy-Vee had changed in any way. Thank you for confirming that my decision to never shop at Hy-Vee again was not unfounded. This was the Hy-Vee on 156th and Maple in Omaha. Do better for the people that you're still ripping off! They don't know any better yet but at least quit screwing them with high prices and crappy food. Rant over. read more

November 11, 2024, Veterans Day. The Hy-Vee once again did an outstanding job honoring Veterans for their service by hosting a delicious buffet breakfast served by welcoming staff as well as offering a 15% discount for in-store shopping. In addition, Hy-Vee was joined by Jr. ROTC, high school bands, Douglas County Sherriff and Omaha Police Department playing service songs and patriotic music. All was greatly appreciated by veterans who service stretched from World War 2 to our country's current service members. Thank you, Hy-Vee, well done! read more

Had a grocery order I waited for 35 minutes for, with no employees to be seen. When they finally asked my order number & name, they said they were still shopping for all the orders for the hour that were all supposed to have been ready. Calls to the store management went unanswered, and I didn't receive so much as an apology! HORRIBLY RUN SYSTEM, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. This would NEVER have happened at Walmart Grocery. This review is for the dine in hot food area. I was very underwhelmed by the meal I had the other day. For about eight dollars I got two pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans. I chose the smoked chicken that they smoke out on that smoker they have out front. The chicken was definitely the stand out of the meal. It was slightly smoky and quite tender. The sides were pretty dismal. I wish I would have known the green beans were canned before ordering them. They were mushy and devoid of flavor, really just not enjoyable. The mashed potatoes were also a big letdown. They looked good in the case, but they had a crust on the top from where air had hit them and even after stirring and adding copious amounts of salt and pepper, they were also pretty inedible. I understand that this isn't a fancy place, but I do expect cleanliness from anywhere I'm dining. As you can see in the photo, the top of the saltshaker was absolutely disgusting. I know it takes work to keep things clean but honestly you can't cut corners when it comes to things like this. I had to search at several tables to find a salt shaker that I would remotely consider using on my food. This is just an example of a place that is skipping on the basics: cleanliness and flavor. read more

I just moved here and everyone is really nice.. no bad experience from anywhere. Until I went to the Starbucks in here. The woman with the curly hair is the rudest person I have ever met in my entire life. She did not speak at all. I walked up speak .. no response back and then continues to stand there and put up stuff not asking me am I ready don't know what I want. Absolutely nothing! Then proceeds to make me the worst drink I've ever had in my life. She needs to go home. Or maybe find a new job cause clearly she doesn't like hers. read more

Typical setup at this local Hy-Vee market. The store was relatively clean but employees weren't very friendly when walking by or passing them when they are stocking shelves. I thought it was a Hy-Vee policy to greet customers, regardless if you are working an aisle or passing through. Another policy that is not followed is when a Hy-Vee employee is supposed to ask if they can help you find an item or direct you to the right aisle. The check-out was quick but the employee wasn't very happy being behind the counter. Prices are fine, parking spaces are plenty but it seems the customer service was non-existent during my visit. read more

I'm giving the store I shop at religiously a mediocre score because all the good things they do are lately out-weighed by the nuisance that is large obstacles of boxes in aisles on busy days. Last Sunday I came in and making it into the dairy section was like going the wrong way in Happy Hollow in rush hour. Sadly I figured this would be the case. It has been for at least a few years I'm guesstimating. Get it together folks, stock your shelves earlier. Take smaller loads out during high volume times. Teach the teens working for you to be cognizant of customers' convenience. Sometimes they stand there stocking shelves with no regard for a waiting customer behind them. Also, teach the baggers to find the customers most in need of their service. Why, when I come with my little one, do the baggers always go to the check out with a single adult purchasing minimal stuff? When I've got a boatload of groceries and a kid to manage, why should I bag my own groceries? The small things that make this Midwest-born grocery store known for stand-up service have all but died. Hyvee is pretty great. The meat selection is nice, I like to buy organic chicken breast here. The produce is usually pretty good as well. Pass on their pizza unless it's chicken alfredo flavor. Chinese is good but always makes my belly hurt. I like that it's never really packed here like other stores, *cough* Walmart. I don't really bother with the fuel saver but I know lot's of people who praise it. The store itself is a bit pricey for some every day items so I usually just pick those up elsewhere. They do have some really good sales weekly to look out for though. read more

Came here to do one of the "meal prep" classes that they offer upstairs...and we loved it! It took about 2 hours to prepare all the meals and so far we have loved each one of them. The dietitian was extremely nice, even with newbies like us. I will say they could use a little more direction for new people, but once you got the hang of it, it wasn't so bad. I would highly suggest getting a group of friends together and doing this. It was such a fun activity to do with my mom, which we don't always get the opportunity to do this now that I'm 30. read more

They are so slow they took almost 2 hours to put my food in my car it took forever bad service not good

Today I was having issues with checking out, as I was using Apple Pay and my phone died. I went to an employee near me, Jocob, for help, and he heard me out and was very patient as I explained I didn't want to come back for it at a later date. He went to the manager (nose piercing.. I don't remember his name), who was also very nice, and let me run to my car to charge my phone. Furthermore, everyone I asked for help with where things were was very kind to me. I am not a Hy-Vee person but I was pleased with the results I got. The produced that I got was very good and I was able to find everything that I needed some of the employees weren't able to help me but I was able to find out the answers on my own. While there are several grocery stores in the area, Hy-Vee has become the "go-to" place for our weekly grocery purchases. The selection isn't great for some items but overall, it's better than the Baker's on Maple. The best things about this store: 1. The break that you get on sales tax because it's outside Omaha city limits. I think that you save 1.5%. 2. Gas discounts ranging from $.03 to $.20 cents per gallon. The coupons are good for 30 days and can be combined. A couple of things to note: 1. it must have a Hy-Vee gas next to the store and 2. they can only be used where you purchased the groceries. 3. The selection of alcohol is top-notch. They have a wide selection of beer and they carry all of my favorites. They also have a good selection of wines and other liquor. 4. The meat is good. They have a wide array of meats and the staff is knowledgeable and willing to do special cuts. 5. The pizza is pretty good. While it's not nearly as good as the Papa Murphy's down the store, it is cheaper. You can get a 12" one topping for $5. I've even had them add onions and green peppers to my pepperoni pizza once and the cost was still $5. If you live in the area, I'd recommend Hy-Vee over Bag N' Save, Bakers, and Wal Mart. read more

I love this place! There is a helpful smile in every aisle. Even on superbowl sunday, when this place was a madhouse, the employees were trying their best to be as helpful as possible! When my folks come to visit from out of town, they rave about grocery shopping here. They go on and on about how nice of a grocery store it is and how nice all the employees are to the customers. The pharmacy prices are almost unbeatable. So happy this store is so close to me! read more

I usually have decent experiences with Hy-Vee, but at night this particular location is terrible for customer service. One night cashier (the "large" one) is always messing around and not at the register, so you're left to just wait at the front until he decides to ring you up. On a recent visit, I had to wait for the night cashier to stop playing with the mats at Express, only for him to ring up my produce incorrectly, sack my (heavy) items all in one plastic bag, and make unnecessarily rude comments about my groceries and my appearance. I'm sure it's a fine store during the day, but don't stop in past 10 unless you're in the mood to pay their high prices in exchange for bad customer service and interactions with rude, badly trained employees. read more

I have always enjoyed shopping at Hy-Vee until today. I wanted to have flowers delivered to a friend. I didn't like any of their premade arrangements so I wanted to put my own arrangement together. When I chose the flowers I wanted them to arrange they said they were only cash and carry flowers and that would be a "good deal" for me and not the store . Needless to say I left upset and will NOT be coming back. When I went to Baker's they let me choose the flowers of my choice to be arranged and delivered. So very disappointed Hy-Vee! read more

Hy Vee is a big chain of grocery stores. They seem to cater to the middle of the road customer. Everything most people would ever want. But they are seriously lacking in fresh meats, organic food and organic packaged products. It's kind of shocking how small the butcher area is. Some of the dairy products had expired, so watch out for that. The cheese selection is large but very little of it is gourmet. read more

Being a former Californian I was thinking the prices where cheaper here. But not at Hyvee. But the atmosphere and shopping experience is a plus! A smile in every aisle may not be what it seems! In May of 2017 my wife was walking back to the fresh meat area at the 156th and West Maple Hy-Vee. As she walked by the produce department she slipped on produce that had been spilled on the floor. The result was landing on the concrete resulting in a kneecap that broke into two pieces. A few days later she had surgery to pull it back together and many weeks of therapy have followed. During this entire time Hy-Vee has never reached out to us to see how she is doing nor have they ever offered any bit of assistance with our medical bills or anything else. SHOPPERS BEWARE! We have gone to 4 slip and fall expert attorneys in the Omaha area and all have indicated it is not a winnable case due to the fact that the Nebraska Legislature has approved legislation for slips and falls in our state that basically makes it impossible for anyone to hold grocery stores accountable for something like this. Needless to say we have been very disappointed in Hy-Vee's lack of concern and assistance for something that happened in their store. We are out several thousand dollars of out of pocket medical expenses for something they should have taken care of. read more

The worst of the hyvees. Each location has a manager that can name their prices outside of what's in the ad that week. This one is expensive!!! Also, EVERY TIME I go there to buy something on sale, they are out. To the point that I have to assume they purposely run out of loss leaders to help out the bottom line hoping people will buy a different brand that isn't on sale. I experienced great service at the bakery at this Hy-Vee location. I needed to order decorated cookies for a staff meeting the next day and have them ready by 7:30 so that I could pick them up on my way in to work. I called three other (un named) stores the day before at 3:30 to request the order, but was told no until I called Hy-Vee. They called the baker at home to see if the request could be met the next morning. She replied yes, and had the decorated cookies ready for me in her hand and a smile on her face at 7:30 the next morning. I even had enough time to stop and get a latte at Starbucks before leaving the store. I really apprecated the above and beyond service. Thank you! read more
