This store is becoming my favorite for weekly stock-the-pantry grocery shopping. They're rarely busy, service is great, and prices are competitive. If you have a cart, a very young yet very polite employee will insist on helping you to your car. This means that there are no loose carts in the lot. If you're driving your sweet '63 'Vette, this is where you'd want to shop. As others have mentioned, the meat quality is good. Their meat tends to spoil a bit quickly; I attribute this to having such a huge variety of products under the counter, where pathogens could possibly transfer between products. Produce is better than Family Fare but worse than Bakers. Product selection isn't amazing--there's often only one or two brands in a particular category. read more

We love this store. The people are friendly and helpful. They bag your groceries and even take them to the car and put them in there for you. The selection is more than adequate, and the quality is good. We love the meat department. They run good specials which we often take advantage of. If you hate Wal-Mart as much as we do, and can't afford Hy-Vee, be sure to shop here read more

This store is clean, brightly lit, has wide aisles, and well-stocked shelves. The produce department has all the usual fruits and veggies. I didn't go to the meat counter in the back, but there appeared to be quite a few customers waiting to be served so it must be very popular. I didn't see a big section with natural brand, health food brands or vegan, but there were some, like protein bars. Checking out was a breeze with very little waiting plus self service check out. I had a tiny bit of trouble figuring out how to use the card reader, but a nice worker quickly came to my aid. If this store was in my neighborhood, I would definitely get my groceries here. I haven't been to a fareway that isn't clean, stocked, or full of friendly staff. This store is great so fresh produce and has a big expansive meat corner. I recommend the fresh baked good here. Check out lanes are always open ad staff walk you to your car. They're closed on Sundays. read more

I had received a gift pack of meat for Christmas. One of the items was a packaged as New York Strips.....they were not, it was a scrap piece of meat cut so thin that to taste, you would have to put one on top of the other. The other pieces in the assortment package were below the former standards of this once proud meat counter. The moral of the story here is... see it before you buy it. read more

Their meat is tops, but don't buy their produce, we bought 2 cucumbers the night before and next morning they were rotten! Then next week we went to buy 5lb bag of potatoes and my wife wanted to check for firmness and her finger went right through it! She told one of the employees and he said "oh that happens alot." I don't go to this store often, but was in the neighborhood getting a haircut today so I dropped by. As I was walking from my car to the store, there was a lady taking her grocery cart to her car, and a second later, a young sacker girl was running after her, asking if she could help her to her car. Fareways is good to go to, just to see what is on sale, I never get much here, maybe their potato salad, but everyone knows you go here for the meat department. I never thought I would be this excited about a grocery store, but I love Fareway! I always want to patronize places that really care about their customers. The employees have always been so nice and helpful. I love the meat counter and the employees always take their time and really explain things to you. They really want to make sure that you are getting what you want. The store isn't huge but they have a really nice selection. I normally get my main groceries at Target and I can normally find stuff here if I cant find it at target. Remember that Fareway is closed on Sundays, so plan ahead. read more

I have NEVER had a bad experience at the store. Yes it's not the newest or flashiest, but the people are super nice. The prices are usually really good, except when pop's not on sale. I love that they price match other stores for you and just mark stuff that price. It's great for an in and out trip when you don't want to deal with a huge crowd. Also from a vegetarian angle, I occasionally cook meat for others and the meat guys are SO helpful about pointing me in the right direction. I go here for cut fruit produce,nice selection of products, I come here only to purchase an item , I can't find anywhere , village pie maker fruit pies, if I need anything and I don't buy a lot anyway, my household is small , I come here. I would rather come here than Walmart , right across the street. I don't want to go where there's 5000 cars and only 3 checkouts. Good for an occasional stop to pick up a necessity here or there or for any meat. Highly recommend the meat counter as that's what takes rating to a 4. They do not have all the items of a larger grocer, so that can be frustrating when looking for certain products. Staff is always friendly, but checkout lines can get long when they're busy. I've never been there when all lanes have been open. Tends to be a few lines with several shoppers waiting. read more

This has become my go-to for weekly grocery shopping. Here are some of the many reasons: 1. They have fantastic sales!! 2. They price match. They will have a sign posted right on the item, so even if you didn't know it was on sale someplace else, they will already have it price matched for you. 3. The meat department. Honestly, if you are buying meat anywhere else you are missing out. I have tried so many different items here and they are always great! Burgers, steaks of all cuts, chicken of all varieties, sausage, lunch meat, chicken salad, plus other pre-made grilling items. All super fresh and good. The guys behind the counter are very helpful and always friendly. 4. The friendly service up front and help with your bags. I like that they recognize me (since I am there weekly) and bag my groceries and take them to my vehicle. 5. The size of the store is perfect! It's big enough that they have everything I need, but small enough that I can get in and out in 15 min with a short list. I am so happy I have this store within 5 minutes of my house. It's a Mom and Pop store......old fashion traditions in a fast pace word....there are 3 inevitablys....death....taxes....and shopping for groceries......the people here are not staff, they are not employees.....they are your friends. Every item in the store is always presentable.....it takes the worries away before you get home at reasonable prices better than the big boys on the block......the only thing I could find wrong is.....they don't follow you home to put them away.....one other bonus.....the meat counter is like going to the farm....it's great.....so if you like that Famers Market atmosphere, don't miss out by not going here..... you'll be glad you did. read more

You go here for the meat and if you need to pick up an item or three that's great. You can usually find a few items that are a great deal. But it really is a nice meat counter. Each weak you almost always a NY strip, ribeye, or tbone on sale. If your cut isn't on sale that weak, just snag the bacon wrapped sirloin or bone in thick chops. read more

This is my preferred meat market. Their prices are competitive and the meat is always fresh and high quality. Occasionally I have even been lucky enough to get dibs on a whole USDA prime beef tenderloin, which at $16.99 per pound seems crazy but when you pay $30+ in a restaurant for 8oz, it's an excellent price indeed. Just being able to find prime grade is quite the feat. Their Choice offerings are equally as good, definitely on the higher end of the choice scale. I have gotten top sirloin here that has come out as tender as a strip loin. The thick slab bacon is also great and is often around $2.99 per pound. They also have a bunch of stuff that you might not expect to find, like gyro meat and ham loaf. One serious problem I have with Fareway is that THEY ARE CLOSED ON SUNDAYS. I have probably driven out there four separate times on a Sunday and been aggravated to see it's closed. Don't make the same mistake as me. read more

This is why I don't like to shop at these grocery stores...my husband purchased salted butter and wanted unsalted butter. Call to find out if there was anything they could do for me and they told me no. The workers at this store are very rude and unfriendly. I am a fan of their meat counter and love how easy it is to find and get around the store. The major complaint I have that many of the employees have no customer service skills. Many seem darn right rude or seem to be bothered if they have to wait on you. I like going in there for the food but dread asking the employees for anything. So far the produce staff has been nice but their is a man in the meat dept. that needs help with customer service and sometimes the cashiers raise their eyebrows. I wish they could make the customer feel more wanted. read more

Amazing butcher counter that reminds me of the 50's and 60's. If you yearn for the way grocery shopping used to be, this is the place to go.
