had a minor accident when someone backed into my car. Fortunately, there was no structural damage, but the backup camera needed to be replaced and recalibrated. From the moment I called, Melissa answered the phone and immediately made me feel comfortable about bringing my car in for repairs. Melissa is one of the finest people I have ever worked with. She responded to my emails incredibly quickly, usually within an hour and often right away, which was amazing. The insurance company involved was one I had never dealt with before, and they were very slow to respond to the supplement request for additional repair work. Melissa helped me every step of the way in dealing with them. Because of the delay, I initially had to pay out of pocket to get my car back. The body shop had already been paid by me, but Melissa continued to assist me with the insurance company and followed up on the supplement approval. Thanks to her efforts, the insurance company eventually approved the supplement request, and I was able to get reimbursed for the additional costs I had paid out of pocket. Hustead's Auto Repair in Concord,is a great automotive repair shop. I highly recommend this repair shop. The front of my Lexus NX SUV was damaged, the front bumper and grill. I was assured that they use Lexus parts. They were also a certified AAA & Lexus shop. I got the estimate that day and left the car there. The ladies in the office helped me with AAA and the rental car. They kept in touch with me on the status of the car. I was a wreck when I got there and I was calm when leaving. If there is a 0 star I would rated or worst. This business is terrible. Stay away from this body shop. I got an estimate for new parts and they installed used parts and blamed the insurance when they paid what the estimate was. Lack of communication with the customer. Took for ever to get back my car. After I received estime Cory kept asking additional charges to the insurance without keeping me informed taking months to repair a minor cosmetic accident terrible communication until I followed up with him. Once I pick up my car it had a condensation inside the used and defective lamp they installed and of course blaming the insurance for it. They estimated new parts and install used parts. After weeks have to bring back my car leave it for weeks there even they didn't even have the replacement lamp then they couldn't figure out if it was a fuse or the power supply of the lamp or why wasn't working after it was installed. In the mean time he is requesting 2 K extra lamp to the insurance without crediting the use defective lamp bring it the estimate over the value of my car to a point that my insurance decided to total my car due to additional fees after the estime. They communicate with insurance and request all these additional charges without letting the vehicle owner know. Still want to bill additional fee for fixing and keeping the used defective lamp. I have no time to write this review which is to say, this is how strongly I feel about my experience and the team at Husteads in Concord. Melissa was my POC and out the gate I was taken aback at her proactive, detailed communication. Before my car was even towed to Husteads by AAA, I reached out to ask if once the car arrived, could they please keep an eye out for my son's stuffed animal that may or may not be under a seat. Mind you, Melissa had never met me, hadn't received my car or any paperwork, etc. Two days later when AAA finally got my car to them, I got a call (I didn't check in with them) to say my car was received and by the way, they searched every crevice of the car and "we're so sorry but no stuffed animal was found". I was shocked she remembered this silly little ask from a customer she didn't yet know. My car was badly damaged so Melissa gave me a one month deadline for completion. She mentioned that deadline and their alignment to it in nearly every update, and speaking of updates, I never had to ask what was going on because I was proactively texted several times a week with the latest status on the extensive repair. Toward the end, when the car was sent to Acura for the calibrations, etc., Melissa realized Acura had stopped providing her updates and wasn't returning their calls. She didn't rest on her laurels, she sent one of their guys literally TO Acura to track down the person who wasn't returning their calls. They got the update needed, and things continued to go smoothly. I could go on, but in a nutshell, the car was ready two days before the deadline, they sent a Lyft to my home in Lafayette to bring me there to pick it up, the car looked literally brand new and I was in and out of there in 10 minutes. Meeting Melissa in person didn't disappoint; she was just as warm, attentive, and knowledgable as she'd been all those weeks. Customer service doesn't really exist like this anymore so I was intent on writing this review when all was said and done. They were super fast and extremely professional. They communicated with me throughout the process with updates on what was happening. The repair looks great and they even returned my rental for me. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I have read the other negative reviews and from experience, I can firmly tell these people that the problem is with their insurance company and NOT the body shop. Insurance companies are trying to "fix" things for a cheap as possible and that means directing the shop to use aftermarket parts or recycling parts when possible. This is not the shops fault. Get a better insurance company. As for me, my car was in the shop for exactly 5 days for a damaged rear fender, quarter panel and lift gate. During that time I received 13 texts and a phone call regarding every step of the repair process. From when the estimate was done and approved to when the car was in reassembly and painting. Before taking my car to Husteads at 2110 Market Street in Concord for an estimate for very minor body work, I stopped by the Lexus dealership to see if they had any recommendation for Auto Body Shops. The service manager advised me that they often refer Lexus owners to Husteads for any body work. When I arrived at Husteads, I was pleasantly greeted by front desk team member, Savannah who introduced me to an estimator, Melissa. Upon reviewing the minor damage to the front bumper of my car, Melissa informed me that she thought the damage could be repaired on the spot without making an insurance claim. Melissa called over one of their body technicians, Elias who examined the damage and felt he could make the repairs in a few minutes. Recently, my car was hit by someone while I was parked at work and they messed up my front bumper and one of my headlamps. After calling Geico and getting an estimate, I researched what my best local options would be to get the repairs done. Husteads popped up and the reviews were great, so I scheduled my appointment with them. Dropping off my car was tricky, because their lot is small and they were servicing multiple cars. The woman at the front desk was extremely friendly and thorough. They texted me with updates as my car moved through the shop and called to let me know that they had to add a few items to the repair list, but I didn't have to worry about contacting Geico for more money...They'd take care of it. When my car was ready, they texted me with the total and were very accommodating with my work schedule/pickup availability. I was so grateful to see that not only did they replace my bumper and headlamp, they detailed my car inside and out and removed all the overspray that was on my hood since I bought my car. This auto body shop exhibited the poorest quality customer service imaginable. I came to this shop as an approved Geico shop. In short, they were unable to perform the repair work necessary. I would have had no problem with the shop if they had simply told me they couldn't do the work. Instead of doing that they kept my car for 10 days. They provided no updates to me during this time. I called the manager Joel Grossman after 5 days and all he could tell me was he was going back and forth with insurance. I call my insurance and they tell me they haven't heard from the shop and that the shop is non-responsive. And to top it all off--when I come to retrieve my car, the floor mats had dirty water/fluids on them because the personnel who moved the vehicle outside did not take the time to use floor mat covers. I will note that the General Manager Joel Grossman was particularly indifferent and lacks a basic understanding of customer service. I will be filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau, CA Department of Consumer Affairs, Concord City Hall, and other regulatory and consumer protection entities, as appropriate. In sum, I would not recommend bringing your vehicle to this shop. read more

It wasn't your typical car accident - I'd run something over in the road, on Kirker Pass. The sound under my car was terrifying and I knew it was bad. I took it to the dealership and they confirmed my fears, that the damage was, in fact, really bad under my car and that the work would need to be done by an auto body shop. So, I got to work, looking at auto body shop reviews in my area. That's when I decided on Husteads in Concord. I made the appointment, brought my car in, and left, assuming it would be gone a while - a month at the very least. Hustead's proved me completely wrong. It was just a matter of a couple of days and I started receiving text messages, keeping me up-to-date on the status of my car. As well, I received calls from Kyle, to touch base on both my car and how the process was proceeding with the insurance company. I was so excited when I received the call yesterday from Kyle that my car was finished and they'd received all they needed from my insurance. When I got there, my car was out front - it was really clean and ready for pickup. I just cannot recommend Husteads enough. There was a lot of damage under my car and not only did they have the work done in just a few days, but the communication was also completely above and beyond. I never had to wonder if they were working on my car, in fact, I was certain that they were working very hard on it, making sure that the work was seamless. You can't find a shop with more integrity or that will work harder for you on your car, with the insurance company, and to ensure you know every step in the process. I had a big scratch on the passenger front bumper of my 2018 Toyota Tacoma, from an inadvertent wheel barrow from a contractor. When I took it into Husteads, I was met by Jose O. What a guy! He carefully assessed the damage, explained what could be done and options for repair, and then set me up for an appointment yesterday. Yes, yesterday, and the job is complete, as well as a wash for my truck. Along the way, Jose sent me the paperwork and updates via chat, which made the whole process easy and smooth. I had gotten an earlier estimate from a similarly high Yelp rated shop, but Husteads was much better. I couldn't be more pleased with the entire process and cannot recommend them more highly. I was so devastated because I just bought the car about 6 months ago! My insurance recommended Husteads Auo Body as in network vendor and have lifetime coverage. That is why I chose them. They did a fantastic, amazing job on my car!!! And put a brand new side mirror, and fixed the dent, scratches, new paint job. My car looks brand new and clean!! They detailed my car when I picked it up. You could not tell it was damaged. I worked with Ricky, and he was very courteous and explained everything to me. It looks like they have great reviews... but my experience was totally frustrating, unprofessional and unfortunate. Lack of communication. They Bought the wrong car parts and now im STUCK with them if anything was wrong like how i realized they installed the wrong color for my lights. And my 2021 tacoma was sent back to me unpresentable. Im not looking for detailing but "wipe down" should have been at least what i was expecting. Theyre service is slow so they took most of my car rental. Anyway, I chose them because of geico. I trust geico. Now after them, i dont think i wanna go in network anymore because this autobody is aweful and destroyed my trust completely. Manny was ok and i have nothing bad to say but also, im not very sure how he handled my complaints either. I asked for an email and i never received his as promised so I went directly to my geico insurance instead. I left my personal belonging here and my sodas and ice teas went missing... to be honest... i just hope i did not leave anything important since i dont recall if i did... because it might have not gotten back in my car since the obvious ones went missing. I don't even know where to start. I first used this shop because The Mazda dealership referred me. I had a 10-day old 2016 Mazda 3 that got side swiped. Rich, the owner, took care of me then. I was impressed with his work, and my car looked great. Fast forward two years later, my 2018 Mazda 3 was involved in an accident cause someone decided to run a red light. I was devastated because I didn't even have the car for a year and it didn't even have 9K miles on it. I knew I had to take it to Simply Superior. From the beginning Rich was very transparent with the repair process. He was definitely looking out for my best interest in terms of obtaining OEM parts. I was appalled that my insurance wanted to put aftermarket parts on a brand new car. Rich was very thorough. The quality of this shop's work speaks for itself. I did not care how long he had to have the car, as long as I got it back looking the way it did before the accident. The shop stays true to their values and does not get influenced by insurances. Rich answered questions I had, and was very prompt! When I saw my car, she looked like how she did as I drove her off of the dealership lot. All the lines and paint matched perfectly. I was hit on my way to work on early November and SS was on the list my insurance gave me for repair shops. The damage wasn't too great and so I decided to go with SS even though it is a little further from home for me. I am glad I picked it, Rich was honest with me about timeline and when I could bring my car in as well as how long the repairs would take. When I got it back it looked brand new!
