I brought my vehicle to Advanced Autobody after Walnut Creek Dodge failed to complete the repair on my 2016 Dodge Challenger after a year and four months at the dealership. My initial contact with Rich from Advanced seemed promising. He was able to diagnose the wind noise coming into the cockpit of the vehicle, he was able to diagnose the SXM radio failure, and he was able to figure out my rear defroster problem and sunglass holder issue. The estimate occurred on June 28, 2025, and I picked up the vehicle on August 6, 2025 after the repairs were completed. Shortly after I picked up my vehicle, the same day August 6, I noticed right away the SXM radio started failing again. I contacted Rich who responded right away, he thought it might be a bad antenna. On August 25, Rich lets me know he will need to take my car to a stereo store. He will contact me as soon as there is an opening. I waited patiently and after 47 days, I text Rich on October 11. Rich responded he had some other activities going on and he will contact me on Tuesday. That would make it October 13. I waited until November 13. I texted Rich and he didn't respond. At that point it's 33 additional days since I heard from Rich. I text Rich again on Thursday November 20 to let him know my plans to rate their performance. Rich immediately responded and tried to blame CSAA for their lack of response. However, I confirmed the last communication Rich had with CSAA was from August 11. Rich's next email was sent on November 18. Rich did not contact CSAA until 90+ days later. While Advanced Autobody were able to fix some things, they also damaged my windshield trim. In closing, Rich with Advanced Autobody can talk the talk, but when it comes to finishing. They can't do it. I would think twice before taking my vehicle here as they don't follow up. Over one hundred days and the wind noise still comes into the cockpit, the radio still goes in and out and now the windshield rubber seal is damaged by them. It wasn't like that before. read more

I took my car in after my neighbors kid ran into it while it was parked. It was tough getting the insured party and their Insurance to communicate with me but Advance auto body gave me steps by step instructions on how to move forward with my claim. They set up my tow service, provided me with the info needed for my rental. This was huge for me specially since my car was hit so bad that the drivers door would not open. We can not recommend this company enough! They were recommended by our car dealership, along with another body shop in Lafayette (closer to our house in Orinda). The owner and the estimator took a lot of time to go over the possible findings once they took off the damaged bumper. The Lafayette body shop spent a fraction of time looking over the car but their estimate was $900 higher. Advance Body Shop took in our Jeep and it was done a week later. Don't give them your insurance info until after they give you price quote and options. This is a true buyer's remorse post, and the owner's blase response made me bring down the rating. This was my first autobody experience. (Haha) I have to give 3 stars, and it's not easy. The quality of the workpersonship and the customer service was great. But, the pricing is suspect. I brought our car here based on a referral from the Mazda dealership. I wanted to make sure that the repair included matching paint. I (stupidly) got the estimate after providing my insurance info. The price of the repair (dent/scrape after striking one of those yellow parking poles) was close to $4k. So, I paid the deductible and insurance took care of the rest. Lo and behold, I get my insurance premium renewal and it is increased by 36%, just over $1,000 more for THIS year. Who know how much more they will charge each year to recover the expense. Per Richard Marx, I should've known better. LESSON LEARNED THE HARD WAY. Hoping this helps someone else from getting screwed by two businesses at the same time. Responding to the owner's comment: yes, I hope for a $4k job it would look great. And, no, it's not the NFIB Talking Points of "it's happening everywhere." The insurance company is going to recoup what it paid you by charging me $1,000+/yr to pay them back. You took advantage of us. So--I want to make sure that others know to get a non-insurance price and an insurance price before making the same dumb decision I did. I should have gone to the nearest AutoZone and bought matching paint instead. read more
