Enjoying our picnic lunches (we took to Harmony Cellars)
Yvonne M.

We always come to Hush Harbor when we visit Paso Robles. This last trip we were celebrating my husband's birthday and we ordered sandwiches for our group to take a picnic lunch out to the coast to Harmony Cellars. Everyone in the group was thrilled with the presentation of each packed lunch and how delicious the sandwiches were. We all had either the Turkey Grinder on rustic Italian bread or the Italian Grinder on baguette. I gifted each couple a loaf of their sourdough to take home (most ate it on the drive back home-it smelled so good). I'm happy I was able to share this jewel of a cafe to our SoCal and NorCal friends on this trip. We will be back!!!

Waking in, it's not that impressive. We saw empty cold-cases and a few diners. By the looks of things, they've had better days. We were greeted by a friendly guy, who was obviously doing the job of at least 2 people. He promptly took our order and we sat down. We figured we would be waiting for a while, but the food came out quickly; we were pleasantly surprised. It looked good, but I was worried it wasn't going to be enough food. I was wrong. Delicious, fresh ingredients, that did not disappoint. My wife said it was one of the best Cobb salads she's had, and I was definitely satisfied with my steak sandwich, hence the reason for the 5-stars. We hope to frequent hush harbor in the near future.

I love Hush-Harbor ever since they opened back in the early 2000's. Their French baguette is something I crave and even had at my wedding. My go to is their turkey grinder. Just a great combination of flavors then to pair it with the French baguette, it great. Well usually great. Today I ordered one to go and when I got back home I was surprised. The sandwich was half the size as it is typically and there was only a single slice of turkey. Don't get me wrong I get it. Covid hit the hard and I would be more that happy to pay more for their typical Turkey Grinder then pay the same amount in the past and get this sandwich. I still love and will support Hush Harbor. They are and hopefully will always be a staple here in our town. I just hope this isn't their solution to the pandemic hit, subpar sandwiches.

This bakery and cafe offers daily made artisan breads, pastries, scones, and desserts (cookies, tarts, & cakes). They also offer sandwiches and salads. For the small ones, there is a Kids Menu. Everything is made with fresh ingredients. For meal service, there is indoor and outdoor seating. Lunch is offered daily, plus breakfast until 10:00 am on Saturday. The bakery is closed on Sunday. One of their signature items is their delicious quiches, made with various combination of ingredients. The crusts are very flaky and one of the best we've had. The variety of quiches varies from day to day. The quiches are sold whole or by the slice. If you are interested in purchasing a whole quiche, they request 48 hours advance notice. For baked items to bring home, we recommend going early during the day, as they start to sell out in the the early afternoon. The bakery items earn five stars. The cafe service was not up-to-par. There must have been a hiccup in the kitchen. The steak sandwich was way over done; the Cuban sandwich only had a single slice of ham, pork & cheese each; both sandwiches had way too much mayo on them; the side salad was wilted. The service was lacking & very slow. Thus our overall rating.

Italian sandich on Italian rustic bread.

We had the Italian sandwich on Italian rustic bread. We were visiting the area and ate at Hush Harbor two out of 4 days there. We would have eaten there 3 times, but by the time we got back one afternoon theycwere already closed. The best sandwiches I've had. Fresh baked bread was the best.

Amazing service and just as amazing food! But can we talk about the bread?! Everything here is fresh and made to order so it may take a bit longer for the food to come out but totally worth it! They updated their hours so don't trust Yelp. Only closed Monday & Sundays but open the rest of the week!

Truly amazing. The salad came with red onions and cucumbers which I don't care for so I ordered mine without them.

So of course, I ordered my favorite too, a salt bagel, extra toasted. My main goal was the soup, and when they said it was only available frozen, I was totally fine with that. It could thaw throughout the day and she could enjoy it whenever she felt up to it. Turns out, it was a great call. The soup had tiny bits of veggies and multiple matzo balls that were nice and sizable. She loved it, and honestly, it looked so good I'll be getting it for myself next time I'm feeling run down. Now the surprise star... that bagel. The chew was spot on. That perfect bakery-style texture with just the right crust. Not even close to a grocery store bagel. If you know, you know. The shop itself is small and super casual, with a very relaxed, neighborhood feel. Service was quick, about three minutes from ordering to walking out the door. They also have outdoor seating, which is a nice bonus. And one more thing worth mentioning... if you take a minute to look up at the menu board, they have a great selection of breakfast sandwiches. Definitely coming back to work my way through those. Great food, fast service, chill vibe... and that bagel chew alone is worth the stop.

I could barely see the pastries in the case. No worries though, I saw what I came in for. Purchased a French baguette for $3.70. Beyond amazed at the price. Excited to have some with my coffee, I ripped off a piece almost immediately and noticed the nice crust on the outside. 5 stars for the crust!! As for the flavor, it seemed a little flat. It was lacking some of the wheaty-tangy flavor you would get from a longer prove/fermentation. The inside of it was also missing all those nice deep pockets you see in a French baguette. Overall, not a bad baguette, but not one that you yearn for. I'd like to mention the young lady Annabel I had the privilege of meeting outside of the bakery. She was on a delivery run, but told me about their IG page, and we had a wonderful chat about cookies. Thank you for your time, Annabel, you are awesome!

He was so rude I waited until he left even though I had already picked up my to go order. She was taking multiple orders at once and asked three customers what they wanted--I was the third. I clearly ordered an Italian with double meat. She repeated it back correctly, so there was no confusion on my end. When the sandwich was made, it was obvious it did not have double meat. I calmly pointed it out, and instead of correcting it, she argued with me--saying "that's extra meat." I clarified again: I ordered double meat and understand the difference. Her response? A dismissive tone and "well then it will be a double charge," as if I wasn't already aware of that. That's literally what I ordered. From there, her attitude completely deteriorated--eye rolling, snapping back, and accusing me of being rude for simply asking to receive what I paid for. When I asked for a manager, she said she was the manager. That's the real issue here. If this is how management handles basic customer interactions--arguing, dismissing, and deflecting instead of correcting a simple mistake--there's a serious leadership problem at this location. I don't mind paying for quality. I do mind being talked down to and treated like I'm the problem for expecting my order to be right. I've been coming in pretty regularly, but that ends today, I'll never come back to this location Do better.
