Latte and cappuccino

Now that we have a third option for coffee on this street, we must call it the Coffee District! A great addition, indeed. For my gluten free gang, they have GF oat milk, pastry options (from Buttercup Bakery in Morro Bay), but unfortunately, no GF bread for the sandos. Alas, we cannot participate in their delicious sounding sandwiches, but I hope they can either purchase GF baguettes or work with Buttercup to produce something, because from the looks of the menu, we are definitely missing out. I will certainly come back with my non-GF friends and force them to get the sandwiches so I can live through them. I'm excited to try their chop salad. The hours are a bit late for the early morning coffee crowd going to work, but it's a fun later morning or lunch stop. They also have wine, beer, and bubbles (glass or bottle) and a small selection of Italian pantry staples. Minus points for plastic straws and stir sticks. Not only is that terrible for the environment, but it also detracts from the experience they are trying to curate. I love the shared patio in the back but would love even more if they add tables outside in the front. Their plates and glasswear are adorable.

First time trying the new Italian-themed coffee shop on Garden St. Very cute, delicious cappucino, delicious quiche, and both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was both friendly and quick. I was immediately acknowledged when i walked in, and waited only about 3 minutes before I had our drinks. When picking up my food and drinks from the counter, I was asked if I wanted an extra fork for my order. Service and speed was waayyy better than the coffee shop across the street!

Of course this place is amazing! It's owned and run by the owners of my favorite Italian restaurant (La Locanda) two doors down. Best caprese sandwich I've ever had. Salad was perfect too. Ambiance is so cute! Highly recommend!

Amazing, amazing, amazing!!!! You must go! Nothing like this in SLO!!!! Fig jam and artichoke cream sauce!!!!!

Baked goodies

This is the most delightful addition to the cutest street in downtown slo. In one week i have been 4 times to try different things and each time better than the next. The food spectacular just like you would find in Italy. I'm obsessed with the crunchy one salad, the scones are the best I've had in years and the sandwiches make me want to go back to Italy. I've yet to try the gelato and coffee. The Ambiance is great. The back patio is private and quiet, the interior quaint. The staff are so obliging and give the best service with a smile.

Mortadella sandwich and Bundt cake

A very charming Cafe nestled in the heart of downtown SLO with delicious sandwiches and pasties. My favorite thus far is the mortadella sandwich and Frankie's Bundt cake!

crunchy one salad, turkey sandwich, plastic cups, plastic straws, and plastic bowl they bring your salad in.

The coffee was awful. The espresso was so sour. Wouldn't recommend this place at all.

Not far off from the 101 Freeway at Marsh Street exit, easy to get to. Great little place with plenty of history and old school charm, you can see and taste the SLO culture and vibe. Staff were very friendly and happy, outdoor dining or take out and reasonably priced. So excited to dig into my sanqweech I forgot to take a pic, all I can tell you was tutti delizioso! Had the Danish Crunch roll filled with turkey, provolone and "The Works". Bread was very fresh, plenty of meat and crispy fresh vegetables to complement the great flavors of the bread. I definitely recommend High Street Deli, great small business with an amazing staff continuing the local history. We will be back to explore the menu further and take in more of the great vibe. This sandwich was made with chicken salad, melted pepper jack cheese, purple slaw, apple slices, arugula on a toasted baguette. Definitely one of the best sandwiches I have ever ate. There were a lot of people there so it did take a little longer but no worries, there were quite a few tables available for us to wait at. I ordered the Goomba in a whole and sammie! I opted for the option of toasting the sandwich and honestly, there was no need for that. I got it on a a Dutch crunch bread and the toasting honestly made it harder to chew since it was hardened and dry. Doesn't even matter because the amount of meat and toppings on it made up for the bread. I love that the meat to bread ratio is like 2:1!

I went with a simple tuna fish sandwich on their small sub. The app did not let me know when my sandwich was ready, but I did arrive a few minutes early, and it was all ready to go. I was met by the smiling face of the single employee in the restaurant. My sandwich was already bagged. My name was on it and my chips and extra napkins were inside already. The store was very clean and organized, and I seemed to be the first customer of the day. The sandwich itself was very good. It had a generous amount of filling and was served as represented on the menu. I will have to try Capriotti's again to try a different type of sandwich as I think it's unfair to judge an entire restaurant by a tuna fish sandwich. However, everything was as advertised and I can confidently give this location a thumbs up.

The exterior is definitely unassuming to say the least, I mean it is a functioning liquor store next to a public park. Once inside, you'll see everything you'd see in a 7/11, but with a much more quality selection of liquor. If I'm looking for a bottle of high-quality bourbon or whiskey, I'll certainly come here next time. But I scooted past that vast selection, because 1) it was lunchtime and 2) I was looking for food. =) I ordered a Mediterranean wrap and a Gyro pita from the little counter in the middle of the shop. I chatted a little with the chef, who was super sweet and helpful to pack my order with sauces on the side so nothing would get soggy before we ate it. Within a few minutes, everything was packed and ready, I paid with credit card and left for our road trip adventure. When we opened the lunch pack, we were greeted by amazing smells and great tastes! Especially the Mediterranean wrap was delicious! It's all a little pricey at $11 for a sandwich, but they're huge and so tasty, that you should skip any of the cheap offers from Subway and Co. to eat here! It's unique, local and delicious!

They have a large wall of refrigerators for a load of cold beer too. But I'm not kidding you'll come in here, walk to the back and just feel blown away that you didn't know this selection existed. In addition to the beer, they have a deli where you can order everything from sandwiches and gyros to burritos and schwarma. Serious! The sandwich I had from here was okay, not amazing. I'd still come back to try the gyro though. Of course they have chips and drinks and lots of liquor too. Every time I've ever come in the cashiers have been super cool, laid back and really friendly.
