I've brought my car here for oil changes and state inspections. The staff have been efficient and courteous every time.

These people need training. The manger took all the freon out of my car out of meanness. Unprofessional. Please find a trust worthy place. I've been coming here for years and the customer has gone done hill. They did work on my car before consulting with me. The manger just showed up with a bill for services I didn't need. I had a great experience with Hurst Lube and Mechanic. It happened by chance since I needed a State Inspection and was driving by and noticed no car was being serviced in the bay area. It's admittedly a hole in the wall type of place, but having stopped at over 5 other places with hour long waits the day before, I thought it was worth a shot. Anthony the store manager introduced himself and was completely kind and friendly. Inside there were comfy couches to sit and wait and a TV to keep a person entertained. Not to mention, everything was clean. I hate to say it, but if I go to a mechanic alone, I'm always aware they could be taking advantage of me. I'm not proud to say it, but my Mom instilled this in me, and it's just a learned habit I can't shake. ANYWAYS, I didn't feel this way here at all. The inspection was done very quickly and in a timely manner. If you happen to be in the area and need any car or truck services done, it'd be worth your while to stop in here. read more

I took the car in for a basic ac service and they fixed it 3 weeks later my serpentine belt fell off and I contacted them to let them know that this was probably their issue. They denied any wrongdoing a day later I look under my engine and see that my compressor that they installed is completely unattached to the engine and wobbling all over the place...their diagnosis after a $130 tow was that the bracket that hold the compressor was cracked and that it wasn't their fault either. The mechanic that took out old compressor and installed new one broke that bracket! They know it and I know it...They charged me an additional $ and refused to reimburse my tow cost. Do a NOT use their service s. They are all liars there stealing from customers hard earned money. I challenge the owner to "take ownership" and refund my money and reimburse me the $130 cost for tow. read more

This is your local half ass shop.Went for an alignment and didn't even touch the front end or help me truly solve the problem. If you wish to get a job well done search elsewhere (I recommend ChristIan brothers in bedford- they fixed everything and truly made sure my car was good for the road long term). I went in today, after coming to this location for regular vehicle maintenance for many years on multiple vehicles. Upon completion of what's supposed to be a regular oil change, I learn they've increased their price for extra quarts by almost a full 100% and their price for initial bottle by almost 50% while increasing their price for general fluids by 25%, bringing my bill for a simple oil change to over $117! With no advance notice or postings of the increase in price! In addition, they tried to justify it by saying they have not increased prices in 4 years (as if raising rates by 50-100% from one visit to the next is a normal business practice)! This will be the last time I bring any of my five vehicles to this location and I highly recommend yall find another place as well! This place is definitely not what it used to be! Just in case you're looking, Richland Auto Care in Richland Hills on Blvd 26 gives great service at a reasonable price While respecting their customers..... they inform of prices and costs in advance of providing their service And do not try to take advantage of their customers just because they can! One of the guys found a problem with my truck when I took it for an inspection, requested an explanation and the guy wouldn't provide one and wanted me to pay, he would not give me any kind of information until someone else came and said they couldn't fix it in their shop. I was irritated with the first guy cause how can he do the inspection and not be able to explain what's going on. read more

I called about repairs and an oil change for my 2006 Audi and Anthony politely answered all of my questions. I went in for the oil change today and the mechanics greeted me very friendly and when I walked in the office Anthony gave me a warm greeting as well. Anthony informed me (before doing any work) that it would be a little more than he quoted the day before and I really appreciated that. It was also cheaper than I normally pay. I gave them the okay to continue and they didn't take long. As a woman, it's hard sometimes finding a good mechanic that doesn't treat you roughly, or take advantage of you and I really feel like they are good people. I've lived in the metroplex for about a year and a half. Where I lived before, I had a mechanic that I had used for years. It's always hard to move to new community and find a reliable mechanic. One day, as I was out and about, I stopped by Hurst Lube and Mechanic for an oil change. I asked the mechanic to check a couple of other things that I thought might be an issue with my vehicle. He told me that both issues were OK and nothing needed to be fixed. That impressed me. Just recently I had them replace my outer tie rods, put on new rotors and brake pads, do a four wheel alignment, and do an oil change. The total for all the work came in less than one of the big national chains wanted to charge to just put on the tie rods and do the alignment! The staff is very friendly, the shop is clean, the waiting area is nice, and they're very reasonably priced for quality work. I have found my new auto repair spot!! read more

If I can give the zero stars I could. After my daughter had a Murano serviced for an oil change, this Murano had no major issues. It started to misfire out of nowhere, she took it back to them, and oil was all over the motor, also had the sparkplug replaced, ( even though it had a tune up done recently). It continued to misfire, and mechanics from where she purchased it couldn't find out why it was doing it, she ended up given it back out of liability. Her husband gets a Dodge Dart, takes it to get a dignostic from another place, and they said the car was in excellent condition. He takes to get an oil change at Hurst Lube and Mechanic and the car stalls on him, take back the the mechanic and he tells them, there was no oil in the motor and received the same misfire diagnostic codes like the Murano. After further examination he discovered a hole that looked like it was drilled in on purpose. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE, THEY ARE RIGGING CARS TO KEEP YOUR BUSINESS. She will be pursuing this further to file a formal complaint with the State' s Attorney's office. read more

My daughter put diesel fuel in the gas tank of her Jeep and I found these guys randomly through a google search and really lucked out! I had my car towed there after hours on Friday, they called me first thing Saturday morning and fixed the problem by closing time on Saturday. The owner went over everything with me beforehand and I was quoted a much cheaper price than I anticipated based on what we were dealing with. 2007 DTS brought in with leaks from oil pan and timing chain cover gaskets. Because of the nature of their locations, the engine had to be drained and pulled. None of this was an issue, however, it was noted that there was now an unusual noise coming from the engine and a low oil pressure indication. With that noted, they handed me the keys and sent me away. This is my first Cadillac and it took some time to diagnose why my vehicle was in a worse shape than when I brought it in. There is a procedure for priming a Northstar motor, if the motor has been pulled, and it's 7th and 8th step are to look for an indication of low oil pressure or noises near the lifters. It had and still has both, but the procedure states what to do in that case, to ensure a good prime. Since that wasn't done, and the initial return diagnosis was "bearing noise" (as well as a suggestion for front pads to be replaced, which I'd done less than a month prior). I then was tasked with troubleshooting for what could be the cause of that noise. The lifters and oil pump were fine, and once the valve cover was removed, it was determined the issue was insufficient lubrication to a portion of the motor. It appears that the insufficient prime has now resulted in engine wear and excessive noise, neither of which were present before it was brought in. 1800 for the gaskets is now another 2500 to either repair or replace my current motor. I have contacted this shop, who has recommended that I just get the work done by the shop it's at now. read more

I went in for a routine inspection, and had to return because the inspection guy isn't there first thing in the morning. I returned about an hour later, he was there and my car was sent back for an inspection. A few minutes later Anthony, the manager, came up with a couple of windshield wipers in his hands and said that the wiper blades need to be replaced. Since two out of the three on my car had just been replaced, I knew that only one was in danger of needing replaced but he tried to insist that they all needed to be replaced and I told him that since I knew the other two were new, I was just going to replace that one. When I was getting ready to leave I asked why he was trying to sell me three new wiper blades when I only needed one. He couldn't give me a good reason that he tried to give me several excuses including that it would then be in their record when I had the windshield wiper blades changed, which makes no sense. I doubt I'll be back, unfortunately, because I'm afraid if they're trying to sell me things I don't need for an inspection, if my car really needed work or had trouble I would end up getting a lot of things I didn't need. read more
