You don't need an appointment and there are signs all over directing you to the state inspection drive-thru, similar process is getting your car washed. You will need a copy of your current insurance and they'll take care of the rest in about 10 minutes. Cost in cash is $18.50, there's a 50 Cent surcharge when using credit cards. I visited Kwik Kar of Keller on Sunday, July 6, 2025, for a vehicle inspection. After sitting in the lobby for about 10 minutes, an employee came in and asked to see my insurance, which I had ready on my phone. He also mentioned that my oil could use changing, and I agreed to have that done as well. About 45 minutes later, my car was ready, and I was called to the counter. I was charged $92.98, which I thought was high for an inspection and oil change, but I paid and left. Fast forward to today, Friday, July 11--I went to get my vehicle registration in Southlake. After waiting an hour, the clerk told me there was no record of a recent inspection. She could only find the 2024 inspection on file and said I would need to follow up with the service shop to have it corrected. Frustrated, I left empty-handed. After dealing with Friday traffic and a long wait, I contacted Kwik Kar to find out what happened. The person on the phone told me that, according to their system, I had only received an oil change. I explained that I had come in specifically for an inspection and had shown my insurance, as required. Her response was that they'd be happy to perform the inspection if I brought the car back in. At that point, I was understandably upset. I got home and checked my receipt--turns out, I was charged only for an oil change, and specifically a full synthetic oil change that I never requested or was consulted about. For context, shops like Brakes Plus offer full synthetic oil changes for $60, making the $92 charge even more excessive. To summarize: I went in for an inspection and did not receive one. I was not informed or given the option to approve a full synthetic oil change. I wasted time and money, and I still need to get my inspection done elsewhere. This is unacceptable. At best, it was careless service. At worst, it was a bait-and-switch tactic. I brought my car in because it was pulling to the right while driving. Levi took a look and then Luke and they discovered that CV boots/axels were leaking so they repaired. But it didn't fix the issue. Over the next 10 days they spent many hours trying to figure out the issue with no extra cost to me. Luke was determined as ever. They were adamant about making certain my car was safe to drive. They gave me a loaner so I could do my job and they were top notch professionals. Everyone I dealt with were awesome. I use to think this was only a lube and oil place but they do so much more. Today I drove my car and was so happy to have it back and everything was perfect. DO NOT take your vehicle to Kwik Kar Keller -- especially if it's a foreign or luxury car they can't reset lights or they don't do the services at all I would give 0 stars they blew my engine! I took my Certified Pre-Owned MercedesE350 in for a tune-up and synthetic oil change in March 2025, paying for new spark plugs and service that were never done. Mercedes confirmed the plugs hadn't been changed and the oil wasn't even topped off. In June 2025, after the car began shaking again, I returned to Kwik Kar. They misdiagnosed it as "motor mount issues," charged me again, and still failed to perform the original tune-up. Result: Major Engine Damage * Cylinders 3 and 4 blew, confirmed by the dealership -- $5,691.21 in repairs they owe. * They returned my car with missing lug nuts, even though I brought it in with new ones installed. * They blamed a fake recall, which I verified doesn't exist (checked via Mercedes and Carfax). * They comped a $2,200 fuel injector job I didn't need -- but it didn't fix the real problem caused by their negligence. * Taylor, the manager, is dismissive and refuses accountability, even suggesting a $1,714 partial return--without addressing the engine damage they caused with the same Spark Plugs, wrong ones or used ones they gave my vehicle March 2025 which is under their warranty they owe me an engine write that to corporate and they had my vehicle 6/19 released Saturday shaking I took it back last Sunday morning no techs had it all last week retrieved it Sunday and it was properly looked at my s Mercedes authorized dealer yesterday to find out and account for anything did is in the RED and my vehicle didn't have a check engine light on when I took it back to the that following morning and I got brand new lugs and tires where are my lug nuts kwik Keller they are dismissive I just purchased those you didn't have the decency to put them back on my new set of Eagle Goodyear tires that's dangerous! Levi admitted the spark plugs weren't changed, and Taylor outright lied about recalls and my engine cylinder needs to be done because you did Consumer Fraud charging for services and, charging for new parts and a tune up you ruined which intel blew my engine cylinders on a new model Mercedes that's barely 4 years old. I will keep this review updated that we have the truth and full scope this is the beginning corporate and kwik Keller owe me 5896 plus my new lug nuts they didn't even put Back on, a new engine on my 2021 E350 turbocharged sadly check out when Taylor asked me to delete my initial review this one is better and, now that I've had a real diagnostic we have more crystal clear evidence vs you calling me at a wedding out of town we are back! I came in at 5:30 just to get a State inspection. There was one person in the waiting room and two bays were open. as I was walking in, a young man came out and told me they weren't taking any more appointments for the day. I told him I just needed an inspection and asked him about being open until six. He said they were, but they were done for the day. I went inside to get a card to contact the manager, and even the girl at the desk seemed like she had an attitude. Made an appointment on their website for a state inspection. Showed up at scheduled time and was greeted by a rude kid who needed a flea dip to park my car and take my insurance and keys and go into the office. Ok. Did just that and manager Kris (who could not have cared less) told me they do not accept appointments for state inspections and he would work me in in about 45 minutes. I told him that's not happening and it would have been nice if it said on the website that state inspections can not be made online. Kris said it does say that (if it does, it's in some fine ass print somewhere) and that they verify appointments. I told him that didn't happen either and he mumbled some crap back at me. I can only say good things about this place! Another mechanic told us to replace the shock and strut for $1k after they fixed the spark injector for $1.7k such a rip off. We took our car to Kwik Kar to get a second opinion for shock and strut cuz of the noise. The guy and his manager drove the car twice to figure out the reason for the sounds. It was just the flapper thing near the tire needed to be taken out. They did it for us WITHOUT charging anything and gave us a peace of mind for safety. This place is awesome! Trustworthy and fair! My family has been going to them for years for oil change and minor maintenance and recommended this place to me. I am going to them for all mechanic issues big or small going forward. I recently had a great experience at Kwik Kar of Keller! I initially went in for a quick inspection, which was done unbelievably fast. I then whipped out the list of all the required maintenance I had received from the dealership and the associated costs. Richard went through every single item on the list, told me how much each would be and then said that they could get these things done at that time! They did not have one of the two batteries required for my Jeep so he made a phone call, went and picked up the battery, came back and replaced it. Richard, Kevin and Robert stayed after closing time to get my Jeep taken care of. While I waited, I had a cup of coffee and watched TV and read magazines in the comfy waiting area. In no time at all, my Jeep was completely up-to-date in a fraction of the costs the dealership had quoted me the previous day! I am so happy with Kwik Kar of Keller! For an update in response to the owner I will say that the past few times I've been in the car seat was not on my seat :-) I've been to this place a few times for different reasons. Here's my experience on all 3: For oil change- I came on a friday afternoon around 2pm , got in and out in under 30minutes. Plus they informed me I didn't need to be paying 70$ for high mileage oil changes like other places have told me. Just a standard 42$ is enough. Even though my car was older. People at lonestar down the road told me otherwise .....Only thing that annoyed me was they left the matt from my floor on my seat- ew. For registration - Was in and out in 30minutes and it was cheap. I'll go here next time as well. For car issues- They up charge a bit more then my dealership, but it may be dependant on what kind of car you have. Any repairs I usually go to the Hyundai place in Denton instead. So over all good and bad. But please ya'll don't put my foot matt from the floor on my seat next time! :-) read more

Took my car in for an oil change and they found that my coolant had been leaking. They said they would have the mechanic look at it and give me an estimate. The mechanic came back, handed me a bunch of papers, and then just said a price. He didn't walk me through the quote or anything, just said it would be $790 to fix. Something felt off so I took it the dealership and they ran an extensive diagnostic on it, walked me through everything, and even showed me what was going on. They looked over the papers Kwik kar gave me and the mechanic at the dealership said it wasn't even close to what they would have to do and that if I had gone with Kwik kar it would have been a very expensive temporary fix. He said it would have most likely cost me way more money in the long run. So glad I trusted my gut. Don't let the mechanics try and swindle you here. Get a second quote and opinion before agreeing to the quotes they literally just throw at you without any explanation. read more

My sister on law has her car serviced at this location. She was away on vacation and my wife and I wanted to have her car serviced because her maintenance light was on. I normally do business at Lone Star Lube in Colleyville so we took it there. The oil filter was cranked on so tight, Lone Star Lube told us they cannot break it free by normal means and could damage the flange it screwed into. So we took it back to Kwik Kar Keller. I told my wife to go ahead and I would meet her there. Right of the bat they were rude and told my wife that taking the car to Lone Star Lube Colleyville was stupid and they are a cheap wanna be shop that doesn't know what they are doing. Immediately they called my wife an "F'n B****" and the tech working on the car stated "I am gonna refuse service to that F'n B****!" The girl working the counter yelled out " I like what I am hearing! Do it to that F'n Bit**!" At thus time I arrived, the rundown from my wife who had every right to be very upset. I approached the front of the car and asked "Is there a problem?" " No problem" was the response. I then stood there as they struggled with a 2ft breaker bar to remove the oil filter. Finally a heavier set guy sat down and cracked it loose by kicking the breaker bar with his foot while the other guy in the pit held the breaker bar and oil filter tool in place. This is not acceptable practice. I then went to the manager, Kris, who then tried to educate me about Lone Star Lube being a cheap A** place of business and I did not know what the F I was talking about. Besides being a mechanic in the military, working for Lexus as a tech when they first came out and working several places since as a mechanic, I know that oil filters are not to be tourqed down at such a high rate. They get good reviews on their own site, but how many people really know what they are doing to their vehicles. After getting chewed up and down by Kris, I went back to the car where the tech then slammed the hood. I opened the hood and checked the oil myself because I did not trust them at thus point. Oil level is good. I then told my wife to imidiatly drive to Lone Star Lube Colleyville. She was leaving and another tech yells out at her driving out of the lot " Don't you F'n come back here you F'n Bit**!" My wife then had had it and finally responded to their abuse and told him to F Off. She called me immediately and told me every warning light was now on in the car. The car was still running OK and not heating up and had oil pressure, I told her to get to Lone Star Lube Colleyville. I followed her there. Once we got there they found that hoses and air check wires were removed. They straightened it all out, changed to oil with a new filter due to the fact I did not trust Kwik Kar Keller at all. So if you are wanting to get a service or oil change, don't go to Kwik Kar Keller. Every one of them needs to be fired. read more

He explained if we came back in an hour he could help us or we could make an appointment for later. We decided to make an appointment for the next morning. I went to Kwik Kar for an oil change. I am a 64 yr old female. Only took a short amount of time and they came out and handed me my keys and said you're all done! I had to pay and then sign at the bottom and initial a standard statement I was told, no other explanation. I was out the door for 99.00 with synthetic oil and good to go....or so I thought. I drove to Katy, Tx and pulled in my drive way. Noticed an oil leak the next day. Worried I took it to the closest Auto place to have it checked. My oil plug was stripped and the pan was damaged. It cost me almost 800.00 before all was said and done. Kwik Kar changed my oil (with or without a damaged pan and striped plug???) let me drive away with a damaged plug and pan without telling me. My first question was if the pan and plug were damaged why would you change the oil without fixing it first? I didn't have the money for this repair but had to borrow. When I called this shop they told me basically "good luck". Send an email to the corporate office... :-( I hope this helps, if not me, then at least someone else will be aware.
