Shopped here with friends twice last week for clothes (really), home goods, etc. They have great shoes, books, puzzles, candles, kitchen towels, toys and games besides outdoor cooking and camping items. I've been a rewards member for a few years, so I had coupons. I dare you not to find at least one item to buy if you shop here. read more

I'm writing this review to highlight my experience at Ace in St. George, Utah and give credit where credit is due. An associate by the name of Mike F., has been an excellent resource in helping me in a couple of very important projects. Today was no exception. I'm building a new shop in my back yard and since the shop has a loft, I needed someone to help me put together a plan for a pully system a little more complicated than just a basic system. Explaining to Mike what I was wanting to accomplish, he completely understood that this wasn't just a basic shop I was building and that I wanted to add a little more "cool factor" to the hatch lid system. Probably not a big deal to many, but for some of us, it helps to display our craftsmanship a little better. Mike, who has excellent people skills, takes great pride in his personal appearance and writes with a fountain pen, is very unique and really stands out in today's world of business associates. He started building the system as we spoke and as we were gathering materials, he explained not only the how, but the whys behind every piece while putting it together. In the end, I had a much better, robust and cooler pulley system than I had originally imagined, and it's going to be an awesome addition to the shop. Thanks Mike! Today turned out to be a great one. read more

An old fashioned hardware store where you can get just enough screws handy tools and honest service.

The employees at this store are excellent...The location is also decent to get some general shopping done in the area. There's a guy named Don who's one of the most helpful people when it comes to doing repairs; You can tell that he enjoys working here. This is a great place to go if you do culinary work...The only reason I took off 1 star is because I wish Hurst would sell some hemp or bioplastic products because they're much healthier than plastics & rubbers; Other than that, I really do enjoy coming here because the staff actually cares about their customers. Check it out when you have a couple of free hours because they sell so much more than a typical hardware store, & you might end up wanting to shop for hours. read more

Apparently they aren't concerned about the virus. Half of the customers and sales force didn't wear masks or know how to cover their nose and mouth. Too many stores available to patronize such lackadaisical enforcement of masks. Lost a customer read more

Stopped in to get some stain. Super nice guy in the paint department. He carried the two five gallon buckets I got to the register and then my car! read more

Fun old fashion hardware store with everything you could need to keep your house running smoothly, including fabric and yarn. You walk in to smell fresh popcorn and it's free. We grab a bag and go browsing, my hubby goes to the outdoor and hunting stuff and I go to the craft and fabric area. This time, they have taken out the sporting goods and replace it with more crafts, fabrics and yarn. The sporting goods, they moved to a space on the side of the building, but it's not open on sundays. And they have added an outdoor gardening area that full of up coming holiday stuff, like lighted trees and lawn decorations. Good clean store, prices are reasonable, friendly service. read more

Roy in ammo is a complete and total ass. He is rude to ALL customers he waits on. I watched him treat 2 customers like trash then he was rude to me, rolling his eyes and acting like I'm an inconvenience to him. I will not be back here. I let the manager know as well. Never again!!!! read more

My boyfriend and I are not to knowledgeable with paint. I am not sure what the guys name was but he works in the paint department and was SO helpful. We have not received that good of customer service from any store. He was knowledgeable and really friendly. This guy deserves a raise once again amazing customer service!!! read more

New to town. I like to support small business. Went to Hurst Ace Hardware instead of HD. Sign at door states masks required. Most customers were not masking and not once did I see staff ask anyone to mask. Left store without making purchase. Found what I needed at HD where all staff and customers were masked and distancing in a much larger building. Won't be returning to this particular Ace. read more

Very sad to see clerk at fabric counter with a shield that was smaller than a mask providing no protection for a customer.

Great place to shop. Friendly, helpful, professional people. You feel welcome immediately and at home. It's locally owned and their product line is excellent. The store is neat and clean and very well organized. You'll find things here that you can't get anywhere else. Including Amazon. When you make a purchase in this store your supporting our community. Keep it strong and keep the money local. read more

Absolutely he worse customer service in town. If you have questions they are so unhelpful. The old guy working paint is rude and misogynistic. Why these old guys have to treat anyone that way is beyond me. I will no longer use this store read more

I stop here often just to pick up maintenance necessities for the house. They also have a postal station which can be open when the post office is not. The personnel are always friendly and most helpful. If you can't find it here it probable is nowhere else in town. read more

Best customer service around. They have a great selection of hardware and someone is always near to help me find what I need. Their women's clothing dept has so many unique and trendy items as well. If you've never checked it out you should. You will be pleasantly surprised. read more

Always a long line to pay. Nothing worse than waiting in a long line to spend your money. I'll be going to Bucks, always fast checkout.

This might be the second best store to ever exist anywhere on the planet. The best exists in Northern Arkansas, but this is a close second. One the left side of the store as you walk in is an Ace Hardware, having all of the Hardware you could possibly want. Its your standard sized Ace... On the right is basically a hiking/camping/Hunter store. Footwear for hiking and camping, and camo boots for those in need, and socks, and then a small fishing supply area, with rods, reels, tackle and such. Then into the towing area for those towing a trailer of some sort, and a nice knife collection, and most importantly, a gun shop. Yes to top it off they have a gun shop. Now don't get excited California people. They cannot sell you a gun. At all. Not even in the slightest. Anyway its a great store for all your outdoors and indoor needs. The best store inthe world also has all of these things, but has a small grocery AND a Liquor store in it. Its in Arkansas just over the Missouri line somewhere near Johnson Shut-ins. read more

Went in to buy new crocs. Started being followed by a security guard for NO REASON. We got PROFILED. We knew that we were being followed because we were being stared at. We decided to put the crocs back because we don't want to feel profiled for being gay and interracial. So as we went to walk out the security guard made us walk him to where we set the crocs down. So disappointing to be treated like this when we have purchased crocs from them before. When I called the manager threatened to leave a review on me. Yes I flipped her off as leaving but I was flipping off the store in general. I am very upset because I should not be made to feel like a criminal when I am not one. The manager SELANIE said that we were SHOPLIFTERS that came in a few days ago which is NOT TRUE. WAS NOT US. The manager SELANIE said she would leave a review on me because she is upset that we flipped the store off, well that wouldn't have happened if we weren't being made to feel like we are criminals. She said racial profiling wouldn't happen in her store. well it's AMERICA it happens everywhere. There was no reason for them to think we were stealing, all we did was get the crocs we wanted & walked around the store. She even asked me if she could look up the crocs I currently own with my phone number because she doesn't believe that we didn't shoplift them! I am ANGRY. Then she said that "people who shoplift still buy things" SHE STILL THINKS WE STOLE FROM THEM. Why would I be making such a fuss if I actually stole from you?! Check the tapes!! read more

Sign says mask required. Most costumers were wearing them, but the employee at the paint counter was not only not wearing a mask he was eating and coming up right next to us. We have been loyal customers to this Ace for a long time and we're planning on purchasing a lot of supplies for a home renovation, but now I'm not so sure. It is beyond hypocritical to require costumers to mask up and not enforce it with your employees. This is not a political stance it's basic costumer service. read more

I really love Hurst Ace Hardware. There isn't a store in STG that can match the service you receive here. At the door, you are welcomed by employees who are willing and ready to serve you in any way they can. Here you can find everything from arts and crafts, hunting and camping gear, to almost all the material needed to build a house. Most days they have free pop corn available. I use the Post Office located in the front of the store because the service is way better than that of the Post Office in STG. No surprise there. They have Coke! Yahoooo read more

Best selection of hardware in town. Employees are very helpful with advice and help finding things.

Ace Hurst is the finest hardware store in the city of St. George. They have a knowledgable courteous staff Who are willing to take their time and help you out. A large selection of tools and PVC pipe fasteners and fittings. While I was there some of the people on staff were there to help me measure and cut PVC PIPE for me. The folks at the check out were friendly and fast. You can tell these guys are under good management. I would recommend anybody looking for hardware tools or PVC pipe, or any materials you might need for the project you're doing at home, to stop by Ace Hurst and pick up your supplies there. My project was to build a movie screen so the kids at our church could watch a movie in the park. Worked out just great! read more

Small-ish town market, so a lot has to be crammed into a store. As much as possible here. There is a very solid toy department, particularly for a hardware store. Sorry, "general" store. Hardware is very impressive. Crafting, gardening, hunting, fishing, it's all covered here and very well. Ever seen a soda fountain in a hardware store? Me neither...until here. Food selection not great, but above average for a hardware store. I like this place. It's pretty enjoyable to spend time here and staff seems like they're having fun. I back it. My only real complaint is that the parking lot lets out sort of inconveniently and that's kind of a pain, but other than that, this would probably be my go-to store for that type of thing. read more

This place is awesome, every time I'm in St.George I stop here to check out their deals, staff is always helpful and polite.

this place is fun to visit. the husband looked at rifles while i shopped for a dress. the kids played with toys and knick knacks. it is what all general stores would have become if they hadnt been run out of business by walmart read more

Just went to Ace Hardware in St. George Ut. I bought a pound or re-25 for the ridiculous price of 35.99. When I got home I found that the powder had previously been opened. For that price and the opened container I decided to return the powder two hours later. When I tried to return the powder an employee accused me of opening the powder and even put it on a scale to see if I had taken some. I called for the manager who told me that they would not return the powder because it had been opened. At this point I told them that their policy was ridiculous, they were basically price gouging (I can get the same powder from sportsman's WH for 24.99 if I wait a few days), and I would not be a customer at there store ever again. A large male employee then told me I was trespassing and followed me out to the parking lot where he threatened to knock me out. Buy from this store at your own risk. read more

UNFORTUNATELY, one of my favorite stores has lost my business. For good reason. ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES CALLED ME OUT FOR STEALING!!! YEAH STEALING! On a Sunday morning right after they opened!!! I literally came DIRECTLY to this store to look for Plasti-Dip. I came straight here (NOT to Home Depot, NOT to Lowes, but HERE to Ace, one of my favorite stores with the widest selection of products. I spent the first 15-20 minutes looking around, because that's what you do at stores, YOU LOOK AROUND before you buy something. I looked in the automotive section for stuff for my truck, I looked in the camping section to see what tents they had, and finally I started making my way towards the paint. Out of nowhere an employee (let's call him Officer Ace) stopped me dead in my tracks. "Now I've seen you wandering around for 30 minutes, it looks like trouble. People don't just do that. You look like you're up to no good, what are you looking for?" ASTOUNDED, I stepped back and told him that I was here to look for paint. He directed me to the paint section, then told me that "you see we just can't take chances like that with people these days. You don't seem to have good intentions." Well thanks Officer Ace!!! At this point I lost all interest in buying their Plasti-Dip anyways, its overpriced. I was livid and left the store due to the fact that I was seething with anger that this employee had just came and told me that he thinks I'm here to STEAL. I guess you are not allowed to browse at stores anymore. I will not be doing business with accusers. read more

Honest and unbiased. This place is the worst. Staff is rude and unhelpful, bunch of bitter folks. Will not visit again.

Shop and compare. Hurst sold me a entry lock set, re-keyed the lock to match my existing home locks, for dollars cheaper than the BIG box store. Price, Selection, Service. As the saying shop Hurst First, and save... Great service and friendly staff.. read more
