Was in dire (or what seemed dire at the time) need of a charger for my laptop. Walked in with the laptop and located an associate at the back of the store. He proceeded to tell me that I needed 'x' and 'y' and they were in the area where the type "C" of charging cable. True, I knew that but him sending me to the mobile phone area did not seem correct to me. I went get (from the vehicle) the original cable which was the incorrect type to explain the situation. When I returned to the store, the associate was helping someone else. Cool, I waited. Upon completion of that mission, he brought be to the area that I just knew was not correct. He explained about charging blocks and I knew those he was suggesting did not have the voltage I was looking for. Thankfully I didn't have to say much as he radioed (walkie talkie) someone on the floor who came over and walked us to the laptop area ... and stayed with me to fulfill the electronics need (want?) I had. The original associate had wandered off to I hope assistant another customer. This associate probably needs more opportunities for pairing up with more experienced customer support associates on outlier or unfamiliar to him customer requests. I wish i could remember the name of the associate that successfully got me to the equipment I needed and purchased. What I can say is that he was much more experienced and knowledgeable regarding accessories for phones and laptops. This associate agreed to recycle the old non-compatible with the laptop I was carrying charging cable. Ace, big score. On the way out I told the floor manager what a great job "x" (can't remember the super helpful associate's name...sorry) did in helping me purchase the relevant accessories for the laptop. read more

Actually, my complaint isn't about THIS specific Best Buy, but Best Buy in general. I recently purchased a Canon Laser printer, model D570 (ImageCLASS), only to find out shortly after that this model is outdated and no longer supported by Canon. As of this writing, Best Buy is still selling this printer in stores and online with no notice or warning to consumers that this printer is no longer supported by the manufacturer. I paid over $180 for this printer a month and a half ago, and then discovered today they dropped the price to $119. They have a rule that if a price drops on a product (such as this printer), you can only take advantage of the lower price BEFORE it ships, or when you pick it up at the store. Out the door? Good-by to the lower price. I'm stuck with an outdated printer I just bought, and now it's almost half price! Still, it doesn't justify that Best Buy won't tell you if a product you buy on sale is still manufacturer supported. The printer is still a good printer, easy to use with good print quality although it only prints in black and white, which suits me just fine. But if it breaks, or the toner goes bad, it's in the garbage can. I used to be a big fan of Best Buy, but am now much less inclined to purchase any electronics or appliances from them in the future. Maybe smaller things like parts or minor accessories, but no more online or in-store major purchases. I'll take most of my electronics and appliances business elsewhere. read more

Five stars to David Curtis, sales-person, and John Dugan, experience manager, at the Washington, UT Best Buy store for their superior product knowledge and post-order follow-up. David explained the benefits and the negatives between OLED, and non OLED televisions. I am grateful for David's patience because I was replacing a "dumb" TV with a new "smart" TV, and I had not been able to put all the moving parts of streaming content together with the newest TV technology despite dozens of hours researching YouTube tutorials and reviews. I finally purchased a Sony 65 inch OLED TV because of the beauty of the dynamic range showing the inkiest blacks, shadow detail, as well as holding detail in the highlights, but I was also seduced by the brightness and contrast of the Samsung technology. I am a professional photographer and an extremely precise Adobe Photoshop user so I understand the difference between a viewer's initial attraction to contrast vs. a full dynamic range picture. David answered my questiions and showed me the Sony and equivalent Samsung model for me to compare. I bought the Sony because I didn't like how the Samsung over saturated the reds in the picture. My mantra was: If I had directed this movie how would I want my audience to see it? The Sony colors were dialed in to my taste. Also, Kudos to experience manager of retail operations John Dugan who made my problem his problem. Long story short, John remembered the delivery date we agreed on and checked, on his own, if the television had been delivered. It had not despite me spending hours on hold speaking with ineffective overseas Best Buy technical support: they all told me the TV could not be delivered as promised. I was broken hearted as the TV was supposed to arrive at the same time my grandson was due for an out of town visit. Somehow John managed to get Best Buy to deliver the TV on Saturday, something Best Buy does not normally do, just in time for the family reunion. I will definitely shop this Best Buy store when I am ready to update my Apple laptop, and all electronic products. Ask for these guys. read more

This review is specifically for the cellular phone section at Best Buy. I dealt with a very awesome Samsung employee, Trevor. I had an old phone that was having all sorts of issues. After purchasing a new phone (S9), this is where the above and beyond comes in. Trevor had to try several different techniques in an attempt to transfer all of the photos, videos and more from the old phone to the new. Again, due to the old phone being on its last leg, this took much longer than expected. But Trevor wanted to make sure all of the data was transferred and he eventually made it happen. Much of the data on the phone was valuable and sadly, not backed up to any cloud. Truth be told, I did not expect to get a new phone that day but it just worked out that I did. From direct connects to a thumb drive and then onto wireless, Trevor was able to finally honor my wish to get all from the old over to the new. I did not mind the wait and he did not mind going the extra mile to ensure we were totally satisfied. Again, the phone had been acting up so it was entirely due to the phone being where it was nearly going to just die. I did interact with other Best Buy employees in this same area and they were just as friendly and helpful as Trevor. I can't speak enough to how positive this experience was for me. With Trevor's help, my data was transferred and now being backed up to a cloud server on a regular basis. He took the time to go over the phone in detail and he helped me become familiar with all of the new functions. I even traded in my old cell phone which reduced my overall bill a bit. I was also happy knowing that it would be recycled properly. So, lessons learned. Ensure all of your data on your phone is backed up on a regular basis. And if you're looking for a new phone, ask for Trevor at this Best Buy store. I'm now a satisfied owner of a new cell phone and it could not have been easier to update my plan and phone. I appreciate the Geek Squad crew that helped with accessories and more and I will certainly be returning next time I'm in St. George. read more

This is my first review ever, but I'm so upset with my service at Best Buy, I just had to warn others. My computer needed a minor fix. My C drive was full. So a very nice Geek Squad tech came to my home and advised me to get my computer backed up and reloaded. I was worried about losing data files but he assured me that wouldn't be a problem. I took my computer to the in store Geek Squad service desk and bought an extra drive for them to back up my files on, not thinking that they wouldn't actually back it up in their store. I got my computer home and all my data files were gone. We went back and forth for four days until I finally found out they had not noticed one of the drive on my computer, my DATA FILES!!, and had erased them in the backup. I am a designer for digi file artists and had tons of valuable artwork and designs in my files. I bought the external drive so I could save them someplace safe. Now I have nothing! All they could say was, "Sorry." And I had just paid over $200 for their tech support service. No refund, no talk of any kind restitution at all...nothing. read more

It took just a few seconds shy of 10 MINUTES to get answered. What store does that and stay's in business? This place is pathetic! There are many Best Buys that succeed, NOT THIS ONE! I have now been there 3 days in a row. First, all employees seem to want to avoid eye contact, which would require them helping you. Second, I was told there is only ONE person that can help in the car stereo department, and if he is doing an install, he can not speak to any new customers!!!??!! I have gone in prepared to spend a good deal of money, and there is no one to help. Finally, I was told that if I left my number and name, they could slip it under the door and there would be a chance he would call me to see what I want. Thus far, no call, no new car stereo. I was in line dropping off my TV that I purchased 3.5 months ago; the cable jack broke off the side. I asked the lady in front of me how long she had been there she said for about 10 minutes. I asked her what she was dropping off, she said she was there to pick up her new laptop. I asked if it was broken already, she said no. She bought that laptop and wanted more memory, so she got that too. She said she paid $80 to get the new memory installed, and get some software taken off. If I didn't know how computers worked then I would have thought that it was a good deal. But, I do, and told her, I could that in about 10 minutes. It disgusted me thinking that that isn't included in their geek squad service. Upgrade for free. Meanwhile, I watching a female worker explain why an old couple should buy a virus protection from them. I wanted to pipe up and tell them that Microsoft makes free anti-virus protection that can be downloaded from their website. Their service sucks and advice sucks more! Next time I am in there, I will make sure that I pipe up and say something. Know wonder they are in BANKRUPTCY! Worst Best Buy I've been to. I've been to multiple best buys in various states and this is the worst. Very small store and worse than that, is the employees are very dumb at best. Employees are very slow if you want something from the back and move like slugs to the checkout line. Heaven forbid if you have to return an item. Overall this store sucks ass. A bunch of college aged kids that pretend to know about things. I remember when I had my LG G3 and was looking at the S6 the person was saying the LG was old and had like 256mb of ram (that's a lie , has 3gb) and a bunch of lies. I just turned around and walked away. Their customer service is garbage and they act like you're doing them a disservice by making them work. Long story short just buy from target or Amazon or drive down to Vegas where you'll get better customer service and selection. Also it takes a while to find someone willing to help. Standing around the computers I was waiting to even catch a glimpse of an employee but they're all huddled near the cell phones. I shouldn't have to wait 10 minutes + to get attention. I bought an iPad on Jan. 17 , 2021 . End of Feb, beginning of March charger completely stopped working . I came in on the 13th of March and they figured out it was just the cord but they couldn't replace it without an appointment. I live 45 minutes away which means about a 2 hours drive there and back. I made the appointment for March 20th just to come back so they could give me a replacement like I was told since I had an appointment finally. We initially spoke with Ben who is a suppose Assistant Manager who sent us directly to an employee once he figured out what was wrong. Well both told us something . Made another drive up just to be told that they couldn't replace it I would have to go through apple . Stay away from this store no one absolutely knows what they are doing . Had an appointment for TV repair after being on hold for 30 minutes. I have a service plan I paid for. They scheduled to come out but less than 1 hour before appointment cancelled and rescheduled me for two weeks without talking to me first. Again another half hour on phone to find out parts did not arrive even though they had 18 days to get them. So now I have to wait two more weeks for service. Really a very poor customer service company. I won't trade with them after this issue is resolved. Everyone is using Covid as an excuse for lousy service. read more
