Spent $1400 on new tires. The car went in with custom valve caps and came out with generic valve caps that weren't even a matching set. The car also went in with 4 center caps and came out with three center caps. Recommend to check you stuff before and after it gets serviced here or just go elsewhere. What's the point of making an appointment when they take all the walk ins before you? Appointment time of 12:00 for a simple tire rotation and balance and here I sit staring at my vehicle at 1:02 that hasn't even made it into a bay yet but I've seen people walk in with an issue and no appointment and their vehicle gets taken right in. read more

We've been coming to Discount Tire for years, but this will be the last time. We scheduled an appointment to have our sensors changed out and were told it would be around an hour. After an hour they still hadn't pulled the car into the bay. I went to the desk to reschedule, as we had somewhere else to be and was told "You're next and it will be another 20-30 min." I was not willing to take the risk so I rescheduled for the following week at an earlier time. Same thing. The projected finish time on their tracking app showed 2 hours after the appointment time! Why schedule an appointment when others get moved ahead of you or you are unable to keep appointment times? There are plenty of competitors. I will no longer purchase tires or service from Discount Tire. Their customer service has gone downhill. UPDATE: After waiting 45 minutes they now tell us the tread is too worn to change out the sensors. On the first visit the tech said we were close to needing new tires--but by their own chart we were still ok. If they couldn't change the sensors, why didn't they tell us on the first visit? Waste of our time x 2. One of their competitors will get the $ for new tires and sensors. read more

Two years ago we bought 4 new tires through the Idaho Falls, Idaho Discount Tire store. Shortly afterwards we started our trip from Idaho Falls to Phoenix, Arizona. After heading south to warmer weather I noticed a bad vibration in the steering wheel. The further south we got of course the warmer the weather got and so did the vibration. We stopped in at the Discount Tire store in St. George, Utah. Nothing could be found wrong with the tires or the car at that time. Once we arrived in Phoenix we still tried again at various shops to locate a problem with car's alignment and/or bad parts. Again nothing wrong could be found. For 2 years we have taken the car to various Discount Tire stores and other shops to hopefully locate a problem. Finally a different tire store here in St. George, Utah was able to to determine that both front tires have a separation of tire tread causing a bubble and extra wear at those locations on the tire. I then proceeded back to the Discount Tire store here in St. George, Utah. I was granted the replacement value of the 2 bad tires. However the 2 year old brand of tires are no longer available. I was forced to pay the additional cost of a higher priced tire plus the additional costs of certificates plus mounting and balancing. The total cost of replacing 2 tires that were bad from day one was $264.22!!! There written policy states that "If one of your tires gets damaged beyond repair within 3 years and still has more than 3/32" of tread, we'll replace it for NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE". So I took this thought to customer care online and my grievances were forwarded to the district manager. Shortly afterwards I was sent an email requesting me to return to the store for a full refund of all costs incurred. Discount Tire stood behind their written policy. For this I will continue to be a patron of Discount Tire and also highly recommend them. I greatly appreciate the customer service. 5 stars from this old boy. Todd B. read more

Buyer be ware, Discount tires does not stand behind their tire warranty. They back up their staff that makes bad decisions. I have been a loyal customer for years and its now time to find new tire shop. Sent my Daughter to get a leaky tire I purchased from there to get it fixed. The tech said I needed all 4 new tires which I do not. I spoke to the manager on the phone and he just backed up his tech. I asked how much life was left on the tire and the manager said a few months however he would not repair the tire that I had purchased from them. Many other great tire stores out there. Don't just buy the cheap tires from the discount store, you end up getting what you pay for. read more

WOW! The employees here were SO NICE and helpful. I had a flat tire so brought it in for their evaluation. When able to assess my car, they immediately identified the problem (deteriorated tread) and showed me the obvious culprit. Instead of charging me or trying to sell me new tires, they sent me on my way (on my spare) saying: "We just want you to be safe on the road." You can bet I'll be replacing those tires with some from Discount Tires! Because we were en route between Las Vegas, NV and Brian Head, UT, the stop was quite an inconvenience. Even though they were busy, we were out in less than the hour-and-a-half they predicted it would take. Furthermore, we had two dogs in the car. Being summer, we could not leave them in the car (it was about 100* outside) so they permitted us to have them inside (we sat as far from other customers as possible). My husband chose Discount Tire for their in-stock tire selection, appointment availability and price. What he didn't factor in is having to take our truck to a shop to get repaired after getting new tires put on. A friend had told us about his experience with having lug nuts broken, stripped or cross threaded at this location, but now we've experienced it for ourselves. We live 45 minutes from Washington, only drive our gas guzzling Tundra when necessary and now.....my husband gets to make a 2nd trip to town, costing him 2+hours of his time plus round trip gas to get it fixed. So much for saving money. Great that we got a 'coupon' to get it fixed, but it certainly doesn't cover time and gas. When it comes to purchasing tires next time, it would be a hard sell to get me back to this place. read more

Have been an America's Tire customer for many years and sets of tires! While on the road I blew a trailer tire and changed it. Pulled into St. George, UT, for gas and noticed an opposite side trailer tire going low. Found this Discount Tire a few miles away and headed in. They were busy so a wait was expected. The Tech came out and noticed the low tire but pointed out two tires with very uneven wear and ready to blow. We also noticed one side of the center axle was pushed toward the rear. His comment was that it was probably due to the opposite side flat. I asked him to have the guys look at it and if there was a problem...LET ME KNOW. He explained the shop didn't work on axles etc which I acknowledged but asked again to let me know if anything was amiss so I could address it elsewhere. He said not a problem and rang me up for 6 new trailer tires. About an hour later work began...the only problem was they started in on the wrong trailer with a coincidental same side flat...about half-way in they realized the error and had me pull the trailer around, then starting on it. An hour later the trailer was done and I was told I was good to go. The tires looked good but the distance between the back tires was still close. I pulled out hoping the axle position would correct. I drive a few blocks and pulled over to check...still out of position. Took a closer look and found an axle equalizer totally broken in half with both sides hanging down! It was not difficult to see between the tires and would have been blatantly obvious with the tires off when removing/mounting them. Found a local shop and had the equalizers replaced. However, Discount totally failed on this one. Had I continued to drive, the entire axle could have failed, disengaging from the trailer...NOT GOOD! I have faith in my local America's Tire but this sister store is horrid. read more

I have been a customer in other states of Discount Tires for over 25 years. Not anymore. I got a screw in my tire, I called and asked what the wait time was. The guy said, "well what are you needing done?" (which is a red flag there as you know they are thinking they would rather fix stuff that they make money, not repair a tire for free. I told them to repair a tire and he said that the wait was 5 hours or more. I said I am rather new in town does he know where I can bring my car to get the tire fixed? He said, "we don't know anywhere else in town that will fix a tire." Wow really? So done with them. I called Big O on bluff, the guy was very nice. He said come on in and they'd be super happy to help me out for free even though I have never been to a Big O. They have my business from now on. read more

They damaged the paint on my rim and played the classic Tire Shop game of "wasn't us! Idk how that would happen?!" Take a picture of all your wheels before getting service performed so they can't try and weasel out of it like they did with me. The manager was a prideful jerk as well. This is literally been the worst experience I've ever had trying to get a repair on a tire me I drove down from Reno Nevada for a job found out have a screw in the tire went to discount tire to get the screw removed was told the wait time was one hour here I am 3 1/2 hours later almost 4 hours later and I still have eight hours to drive. They couldn't get in a 20 min repair within 3 hrs? That's ridiculous. when someone pays 2000$ everytime they buy tires from that company you would think they could knock out a repair. it's common courtesy. I'd be absolutely ashamed of this crew at this location the red shirts were absolutely no help and terribly customer service. you should be ashamed of this crew. Absolutely disgusting. It's one thing to just refuse the business but to have me waiting almost 4 hours for a repair is crazy. Next time be a man of integrity and say no or at least give a real time frame. read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. First, let me say we moved to the St George area three months ago. I've been a loyal Discount Tire customer for over a decade and we have purchased all our tires there. We were getting ready to head on vacation and I needed my tires rotated and one tire checked that had a slow leak. So naturally, I set an appointment with the local Discount Tire shop. They were beyond busy, which was fine, they still got me in pretty quickly because I had an appointment, but that's pretty much where the good came to a screeching halt. They told me I needed new lug nuts at $80. I told them no thank you. They told me they refused to rotate my tires until I purchased their crappy lug nuts. I had to negotiate the price down to $36. What a joke! Then they came back in and told me my tire had a nail in it and it wasn't repairable. They wanted me to purchase an entirely new tire that was an entirely different brand because they didn't have mine in stock. I refused and told them I didn't want mismatched tires. I told them to leave the nail in it because it was a slow leak and they could order a new tire that would get there in a few days. While this was happening, I watched them doing the same thing to another woman as well, telling her the tire couldn't be repaired and she needed a new tire. Something didn't sit right with me about the whole interaction, so I decided to go to another local tire shop and get a second opinion. The other tire shop was able to repair my flat tire and said not only was it a pinhole size that would have taken probably a month to really make the tire go flat, but that it was 100% repairable. Discount Tire told me they didn't remove the nail, but when I got it over to the other shop, Discount had in fact lied and removed the nail and sent me on my way with the hole in my tire. They had also filled my tire to 52 psi which far exceeded the recommended 36 psi. I'm assuming they did this knowing they removed the nail. IF YOU ARE A WOMAN, DO NOT GO TO DISCOUNT!!! They try to scam you! Discount has lost my business forever now! read more

I paid for a tire warranty to cover a blow out tire. The rim that was broken had some significant road rash on it. They told me that I had to move my spare tire with a new rim to replace it. To make the move they were trying to force me to pay an additional $40 to move it. I understand there was labor to move it, but it sure seems like a shady practice to force someone to pay $40 to accommodate what the warranty should cover. I asked if they would even meet me half way, and the employee was rude and unwilling to consider the situation any other way but his own. read more

I've been buying my tires at Discount Tire in Washington, Utah since 2008 and that's 16 years now and between my wife and I, we've burned through several sets not to mention the occasional wonderful flat tire experience. The Techs and Service personnel there are awesome, professional and extremely hard working. I recently purchased some outrageously expensive custom forged U.S. Mags for my Mustang and U.S. Mags didn't allow for enough valve stem clearance for the front calipers, and they should have, and we had a ridiculous time finding the right stems which turned out to be the shortest stems ever made (thanks U.S. Mags for putting us on this road to hell adventure). Anyway, the new stems would not support the valve stem TPMS sensors, so we had to go back in time and use the banded sensors. Unfortunately, I purchased some worthless sensors off Amazon (don't do this because they usually won't work according to my experience and the experience of several others I've talked to), and the back tire sensor signals were not strong enough to be read by the car's computer and the dreaded low tire light indicator on the dash stayed on forcing me to look for a better-quality set. I ended up buying 4 new OEM sensors from the local Ford dealer for $84 dollars each and they wouldn't work because they wouldn't emit a signal at all and now can't be used (insert frustrated homicidal sad face here). By now, all 4 tires are off and unmounted and as usual, the local Ford Service and Parts Department personnel were profoundly worthless and now we're stuck (another rousing special thanks and shoutout to Ford again). One of the Discount Tire techs named Ryan came up with the perfect workaround by changing out and modifying the brackets on the bands which now allowed their own sensors (which are an excellent quality, less expensive than Ford's dead ones and actually do work) to securely attach and that decision turned an extremely frustrating situation into an extremely positive one (it's ok now to insert turning the frustrated homicidal face into an elated tears of joy face here). This was an experience even above the awesome service I've always experienced there and as a side note, the value of their tires, IMHO are the best around, making this particular visit one I'll remember for a long time, and I'll continue to be a loyal Discount Tire customer. read more

Bought 4 tires. Happy with the tire service, price and relatively short wait time; However, they offered to put new wiper blades on for me. So I said yes, mistakenly thinking they would put the correct size on. They put 17 inch blades on my large windshield instead of the proper 22 inch size. Not sure why...saves them money? Shorter blades are probably cheaper. This kind of deception is enough to convince me to shop elsewhere the next time I need tires. read more

Called to speak to a rep. at the Discount Tires, WA. Ut , re: all four cupping tires on my truck, which were purchased at this shop. I do not live in that area, but purchased the tires while on vacation The cupping was pointed out by my mechanic (in Ca). The [Ut]rep instantly told me they cannot help me because this was caused by a lack of rotation. I stated I had receipts from various shops to show the balancing, and overall care of the tires. Even with that said, he replied that I need to deal with the manufacturer, and that he knew they would not want to help me either.. I told him my mechanic's shop stated they would warranty and replace tires in this condition if it was responsible for selling me these tires.. The rep. at the LS store (WA. Ut) sarcastically stated that I should have my mechanic warranty them.. At that point I realized our conversation was over. I will say, my America's Tire shop in Colton Ca was much better with there customer service and professionalism. This Ca shop asked me to bring the truck so they could analyze the tires and come up with a solution. After checking the tires they informed me that the tires were wearing normal with very minimal cupping, and also that the manufacture would likely not help me. He stated there's no hazard and offerred/suggested the free rotation and balancing that comes with my tires, in hopes the truck would handle better. The truck runs much better and hopefully the issue is resolved. Maybe there's a training, or accountability issue at the WA, Ut store. read more
