I called for an appointment to have these guys give me an estimate for replacing the brakes on my truck. I dropped it off midday and they called me back very quickly with an estimate (which was almost exactly what I figured it would be for new pads and rotors all the way around). I call before service asking if they worked on diesel trucks. I was told yes. I said I had already replaced the starter & alternator & the batteries were still good but couldn't get the vehicle & not to replace them. a month later I was told I owed $800 & they had replaced the starter & alternator but couldn't get the vehicle running. & that they don't work very much on diesel trucks. I jumped the gun giving them a 5 star review. My love for this shop was short lived. I took my cars exclusively to Wright for a couple years thinking they were good and honest. Oftentimes when I was getting something substantial done on my car, I'd leave my car there and they could get to it when they had time. When I bought a "new" car I brought it to them to have the pre-purchase inspection done. They gave me the go ahead and said it was mechanically sound. Transmission went out not long after that. I left it with them the first time I had issues and when I picked it up after hours, the back passenger door had about 8 dings in it in the same area. Looked as if someone hit it with some mysterious item repeatedly. I called and left a message immediately and when they got back to me they basically said too bad. When I took the car to them to replace the transmission, I left it with them again for quite a few days. Every day it was at the shop I drove by just to check and make sure it was locked when the shop was closed. It was always parked right in front of their door. The day I went to pick it up we noticed it was moved to a spot, I later found out, where their cameras magically can't see and had been broken into with my touch screen stereo stolen. Other stuff was stolen as well. Once again I called them immediately and when they finally got back to me it was the same crap with oh well, nothing we can do. I spoke to someone else that works in the same complex that told me cars are broken into and stolen often from there pretty frequently, so, probably don't want to ever leave your car with them if you trust them to work on it. read more

I took my truck into wright automotive needing them to install my air dryer, vacuum down my lines, and charge my ac system. He agreed to do the work for a hundred bucks, so I dropped it off on my way to work. I got a call from them late morning stating I had provided the wrong dryer, I actually needed a special hose and dryer combo. He then told me he could get what I was missing, but now the cost was going to be over four hundred bucks. I told him not to touch it, I would come pick it up. After work I grabbed the truck, swung by the auto parts store to return the dryer and get the correct part. They assured me I had the correct part already. A mechanic overheard the conversation and offered to fix it for me. He suggested I purchased three cans of refrigerant, My total came to just under thirty five, then I followed him to his shop. He installed the dryer without incident, it was after all the correct part. Then he vacuumed and charged my lines without any issue. The whole process took just over an hour for which he asked for forty bucks and I insistently paid him sixty. I have waited two months to write this review on the chance my hoses did have a leak. My Ac still works great and I feel I can say with all confidence that wright automotive tried to take advantage of me. I would avoid doing business with this establishment. read more

Took our Jeep there to get clutch fixed and it was worse than when we first brought it $1300 later still have problem and they wont do anything to fix the problem. Dont recommend there services at all which is to bad because they were really nice and helpful at first. read more

Great service and a super great job. I am so pleased with the service I had completed on my 1996 dodge truck. They fixed the steering issue, adjusted the valves, repaired the air condition problem and many other small items. Our truck runs like brand new with over 380 miles on our truck. A while back I took my little beater Dodge neon for my air conditioning pulley freezing up on me. Took it in because I had brought my car in for a few other things and was beginning to trust these guys. They check it out and tell me it's going to cost me $800 to completely rebuild and flush the air conditioner. Father is a mechanic in Cali so I call him up and he tells me "throw a smaller belt on and bypass it, you don't NEED the a/c pulley don't spend $800 on a car you have a year or two left with" I turn around and ask if we could do what my father recommended and got "absolutely not you need a rebuild and they don't make smaller belts to do that, maybe we could bypass the pulley with a mock pulley but we gotta order that and that'll cost $$$ much". I took it home squealing belt and all, got some string, measured the belt size to bypass the pulley with said string, bought a belt at O'Reilly's for $15. Youtube'd how to remove and replace the belt myself and fixed it. I haven't been back Wright auto since. Very likeable guys and good service when they're honest. Too bad. read more

DO NOT GO TO WRIGHT AUTOMOTIVE! They are condescending guys who will eventually rip you off. I went a few times and the first couple of times I was treated well. However, the last time I went they attempted to fix something that was not broken. Luckily I got a second opinion. I figured it was a one time thing and went back to them again. First they kept raising the price and they never had the car fixed when they said they would. When my mom told them to just give the car back, they wouldn't do so for several hours, then they charged her for labor that they did not do, claiming they worked 8 hours, although the car work had not even been started. To top it off, when my mom went back to talk to him, the manager threatened her legally if she stopped the funds that she did not own and only those funds (as she was going to pay what she did owe) and HE PUT HIS HANDS ON HER and GRABBED HER SHOULDER WHILE THREATENING HER!!!! DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE!!!!! read more

I took my car in to have the axle replaced. The very next day on my way to Cedar City the axle completely failed. I contacted the company and they gave me a phone number for a warranty company. The warranty company was able to get me to a shop in Cedar City who replaced the failed axle. I am giving one star for a few reasons but the primary reason is I felt they didn't provide a good service after the axle failed. I was stuck on the side of I-15 with only the phone number for a warranty company. They should have had better customer service. I understand an axle can fail so I don't blame them for that, but once it failed my expectations are higher than what was received. read more

The service at Wright automotive used to be really good. But as they have gained more business and have become busier, the quality of their service has gone downhill drastically. Now, too many things are overlooked, too many mistakes are made, and in a personal experience, mistakes were covered up in the hopes that they wouldn't be noticed. After taking my vehicles to them for 3+ years, I now take my cars elsewhere. Here are a few examples. My brake booster went out in my Yukon, so I bought the part and took it to them to replace it. While it was apart, they told me my master brake cylinder was bad. I told them to go ahead and get the part and change it. Later, I got the call that it was ready for pickup, and brought it home. An hour later I went to go run some errands and found a puddle of brake fluid in my driveway. And brake fluid splattered everywhere under the hood. They had cross threaded one of the brake line nuts going into the master brake cylinder. On another occasion, I took the Yukon in to get the driver window fixed. It was having trouble going up and down. Joe told me I needed a new window lift motor, so I went ahead and paid him $150 to change it out only to have the same problem as before. It turned out that the plastic molding on either side of the window was hardening and was binding down on the window. After some pulling, bending, and working the molding a bit, things were loosened up enough that it was no longer restricting the window motor from doing its job. Joe Jr. told me that he felt like he didn't owe me anything on that job, even though he billed me to change out a part that was completely unnecessary. I understand that they need to make money. They are a business. But I felt that he should have at least offered a discount on this occasion, which he didn't. On another occasion I had them do an overhaul on my AC system. I had them put in a new compressor, hose assembly, accumulator/dryer, and condenser. Picked it up on a Friday when I got the phone call. It felt great driving it home. By noon Saturday, it was blowing hot air. After talking to them on Monday, it turned out that it kept failing the pressure test, and yet they called me and told me it was ready for pickup anyway. Why would you do this if it kept failing the pressure test? I kept bringing the Yukon back and forth to them for several weeks before they finally put some sort of dye in the system to find the leak. The condenser turned out to have a tiny hole in it. Had they not dragged their feet on running the dye test, I would have been able to return the condenser for a refund. But unfortunately, by the time they decided to run the test, I was past the 30 day return period on the condenser so I was forced to pay them to purchase another condenser. And finally, I had them do some routine work and asked them to add an oil change to the list. When I got the Yukon home, I noticed small oil drips on my driveway. I climbed underneath the truck to try and pinpoint the leak. It was coming from the plug. I grabbed a wrench to tighten it up to find that it was stripped out and fresh silicone had been applied around the plug. My blood was boiling. What kind of shop would strip out an oil pan plug and then try and hide it with silicone??? I called Joe Jr. and told him what I had found. He went and talked to the mechanic who performed the job, who denied it. And Joe Jr. told me that he believed his mechanic, and that it was probably the previous shop that changed my oil. Huh??? Then why didn't your mechanic notice the plug was stripped when he put it back in? Why didn't he notice the plug was covered in silicone??? Joe didn't have an answer to those questions. He lost my trust right then and there. Yes, they've made many mistakes on my cars in the past, but they fixed most of those mistakes. But as soon as he refused to take responsibility for something that couldn't have been anyone else's doing, I knew it was time to go elsewhere. A little integrity goes a long way... read more
