She stands behind the work completed and goes to bat for the customer if there are any warranty concerns. Master Bath Cabinets review October 2026 Chris did an outstanding job.  The cabinets would not fit through the hallway into the bathroom. The bathroom door is narrower than normal, and the bedroom door is only about three feet from a closet wall. Chris evaluated this problem and came up with the best solution. The hardest way to go but the RIGHT way Rather than cut the toe kicks to force them through, Chris disassembled both cabinets, carried the pieces in, and reassembled them on site. He worked nearly twelve hours, took a short lunch, and stayed careful the entire time. I am glad he was the one assigned. An inexperienced installer in that situation could have made a real mess of it. The handles are perfectly aligned. He added the rubber door stops on the walls and next to the shower. The crown molding is excellent, including on the wall that is not square -- he matched the angle cleanly. He worked alone without any supervision and left the bathroom cleaner than he found it, with a vacuum running at the saw the whole day. He mentioned he has been with you about eight months.  Based on what I saw Friday, he is the kind of installer you want to keep. Please pass this along to him and to whoever handles retention. I subsequently met with Michael. He came to my home and we discussed the project. He said he would write a bid for the job. This is where we started to have problems with communication and follow up. I had to ask for the bid after it was due. Miraculously he sent it after I asked. I decided to use 2nd Ave and gave a deposit to start the process with the agreement that work would begin by June 1st. Between my first contact with Michael at 2nd Ave and now (July 15th) I've had to hound him for updates and communication. He said he was having a difficult time finding an engineer. He brought one by finally (an engineer who he never worked with) and the engineer kept asking me what I wanted and he had no solutions except to put large obtrusive posts and beams in after jackhammering my foundation. Clearly this is not what I discussed with Michael and it was clearly a lazy solution for the engineer. No work has ever been started and my last text to Michael on July 5th was ignored until July 14th when I texted again and asked for my deposit back. I'm sure 2nd Ave is good at ripping out your old kitchen and putting a new one in when it's just new cabinets and appliances. But they definitely are not your company if you need any thought put into your project. I would not recommend 2nd Avenue Design for any project other than anything very simple.

A designer friend suggested we look at Affinity early in our remodel process. We started working…read morewith Theresa as kitchen designer, and we enjoyed working with her over a many months long timeframe. Theresa has very good ideas, but even more importantly, she listened to what we wanted and made it happen. I have been less than decisive throughout the remodel process, but Theresa was very patient with me and the changes I requested. Where Affinity really shines is in their installation and follow up. Our installation was pushed back a little from original date, but that was okay as we still had other work going on in the house. The men installing the cabinets did an excellent job ( I did not realize how excellent until I used a different cabinet company for my laundry and master bath). There were some stain intensity variations on some of the cabinet fronts. Affinity sends out an inspector after each install. The inspector ordered several new cabinet faces to replace ones which he felt were not acceptable. The current faces stayed on until the new ones came in. Unfortunately, there were still some light/dark issues. The inspector ordered all new faces on one side of kitchen to make sure they all matched. I did not have to ask for anything; HE felt the cabinets were not acceptable. When replacement fronts came in, the installer replaced the fronts and adjusted the hinges. We love our new cabinets. They were expensive, but you are paying for the service, both in design and installation. I saved money by using a different company for my laundry and master bath, and the quality of those cabinets is very good, but the difference in professionalism and installation was night and day compared to other company

After visiting several contractors and seeing their cabinetry, we were quite underwhelmed. We visited the affinity showroom and met with Theresa and things started to completely turn around for us. From our first meeting until the renovation was done, we were completely and utterly blown away. The white glove service, the attention to detail, the relentless Planning and exceptional communication is what sets this company apart. I should also mention that there were at least four or five follow up visits to fine tune, and make sure everything was meticulous after the initial installation. I could not imagine ever hiring another organization to do cabinetry other than affinity. If I could give six out of five stars I would. Kudos to Theresa, Tom, and the entire Affinity team.

After a drunk driver ended our contractor's career at the start of our project, DKB stored our delivered cabinets for free until we hired a new contractor. When the cabinets were mis-measured too tall and covered our AC vents, DKB ordered another properly sized set immediately at no charge. Despite these setbacks and more, Randy Smith (store manager) kept constant communication and always followed through. Kevin, a 9-year technician, wrapped-up the project with the highest skill level, craftsmanship, and eye for detail. While the project took longer than expected, it was done right and perfectly. Keep in mind that these are custom field installations with each order being manufactured to spec. The level of coordination with the manufacturer, sales, design, installation, and detailing requires highly seasoned experts in your corner like Randy and Kevin. It was serviceable, but the honey oak builder-standard did not go well with the grey floors. Oh well, we made it work. After 7 years in the house, the finish was wearing, and some of the drawers wouldn't stay closed; we could finally say it was time to make the kitchen ours. I got quotes from several contractors and ended up going with Dan from Better than New Kitchens for several reasons: 1. He spent TIME with me to understand what I wanted; he also wasn't afraid to make recommendations to change what I initially thought in the interest of budget and what would actually work for my needs. 2. The quote was detailed. It included all the special features that we discussed, including separate pricing for some options I wasn't sure would fit the budget but wanted to consider. In quotes from other vendors, I couldn't tell if they had actually had listened to me and they did not include all of the features and options discussed. I work in requirements myself (software) and having all of it spelled out was very important to me so for sure I knew what I was paying for. 3. Dan's passion. This guy loves his work, and you can tell. All of that came to fruition in the build. Super efficient, professional team, and my kitchen is beautiful. No surprises! We didn't just refinish the existing kitchen; we also extended the kitchen against the back of our dining area wall. This gave me an amazing appliance garage, a mixer stand that pops up from a cabinet, and way, way more storage space. Highly recommend Dan and his team.

When possible I like to support small independent local businesses and made the call for an estimate . Dan the owner spent a lot of time at our in home visit to review the scope , made great suggestions on 2 new pots and pan drawers and assured us we would not know they were refaced but would look like new cabinets . We chose a beautiful Maple wood with new drawers on amazing soft close silent hardware . The work crew was professional , skilled craftsmen that figured out every little corner and angle to perfection . I am amazed at the quality of work . The transformation is stunning . My adult daughter just saw the new kitchen today for the first time and was so impressed she thought it was all new boxes from the ground up ! we ordered new kitchen cabinets through the Gilbert location. Cabinets were order in November 2025…read moreand scheduled for installation the week of January 19 - 23, 2026. We were told it would only take these five days to install the cabinets. Countertop measurements took place at end of January and countertop installation took place on February 18th. As of today, March 16th, the installation is still not complete and finished. DKB was last out on March 2nd and only completed most of the cabinetry related items and has yet to install some under countertop lighting, and install surfacing on the bottom side of some upper cabinets. Our project would only be this far if not for our constant follow up and phone calls. We were promised our concerns would be addressed back in February by a upper manager of DKB when they didn't schedule sufficient time for our installation the first time around. It is now two months this week since the one week when all work was supposed to be complete. Still over $1,000.00 in paid for work to be complete and no phone call or follow up by DKB to complete our improvements to our satisfaction. This whole process has been a bit frustrating and disappointing. We were not informed that the countertop installer and plumber are two different subcontractors. Our Designer was not experienced with cabinet lighting and electrical rough in needs and requirements. Unable to assist with any type of coordination efforts when requested to make sure power sources were prepared and ready. it wasn't until after the cabinets were installed and countertop measured that we learned our selected countertop as it turned out is not available in the size needed without additional joints in the slab. This caused more delays to our schedule. Had the limitations of the countertop material been discussed at time of design back in November, the design could have been changed. Again, just another example of inexperience we had to learn the hard way. Still no telling if or when our new cabinetry will be complete.
