I'm going to freely admit the previous reviews threw me off, big time. I went to four different stores before giving Cabinet & Stone a shot. And now that my project is done - I ended up doing the laundry, kitchen, bar, and 3 bathrooms - I come to find out they aren't exactly hurting for business (...the poor reviews haven't hurt them). Thus, I felt compelled to level the playing field a bit.
My journey began when I stopped in the store, was greeted by Erica (Erika?) and then was helped by Sara (maybe you're not supposed to give names in reviews?). I'm a pretty discerning customer and "very particular" as my GC would say but I'm "practical, reasonable, and fair". I don't know what happened to the previous reviewers but my experience was 180 off-message from them.
As with any small business, sure I experienced the phone not being picked up but they ALWAYS called me back. Yes, some replacement parts took a month or so - supply chains have been disrupted for a couple years now - this is out of their control.
The showroom and Sara were the pre-sales difference. Sara gave me design advice and helped me see ahead with how a couple of my decisions would play out. Be aware folks, if you are kicking the tires and asking for design mockups, not many stores will do this for you without asking for a fee - it threw me off at first but I totally understand that they need to make a living too. I'll also say this..the samples in the showroom didn't really give me a good idea of how awesome the finished product would be, more on that later.
Here are the next things that pretty much forced me to write this review: the quality of workmanship, in the field customer service -they saw things before I did- they came back a couple times, did a few things outside their scope, and the quality of the cabinetry was way beyond what I was expecting. The best way to describe the quality is that the in-the-field finish work was totally unexpected. Every visible piece is "finished" if that makes sense. My GC asked me several times where I sourced the cabinets because he was extremely impressed with the finished product and wants to refer his future customers. The installers also did things that were above and beyond: they were clean, they were careful around my personal belongings, and did other 5-star things: they saw I put rubber bumpers and felt pads on some of the doors and hardware (that would potentially bang against the wall or collide with another door) and they replaced those with angle stopper things. Totally unexpected detail that really sets them apart.
Not sure what else to tell you but give these folks a chance. Tony runs the field team (outstanding) and Nico is the owner (he personally called me if he felt there were customer satisfaction concerns). I can't say enough good things and will post pictures when my fixtures have been installed. read more
