I've seen a lot of granite installs and this was the worst. They were replacing granite on an existing island. The old top had cracked. A straightforward job. Very, very, very sloppy work....miscut openings, ragged seams, chipped granite edges. I can be very forgiving but this was too much. First they cut the sink opening crooked, off by a half inch and had to redo the whole slab. After a second try they still got it wrong. The corners are wrong (round instead of square, chipped the granite edges where the seam meets and the sink opening is too small so the granite hangs 1/2 inch over the sink. They had the new sink to go by and the old slab they were replacing was still in the garage which they measured for reference. Still couldn't get it right. They came out 4 times and were late all but once. 3hrs, 3hrs, 9hrs late (they showed up at 6:49pm!). Check the pictures they speak for themselves. Save yourself the frustration and headache, go elsewhere. read more

By far the best quote I got for Counter tops. The staff was very helpful in helping us through the process and trying to fit our situation into 1 slab. I had to wait for a couple months to install as I was waiting a new cabinet set for other side of kitchen. They went ahead and schedule right away and did the majority and came back later to finish up after my last cabinet came in. I gave them 80% payment after they installed the first time as I wanted them to have motivation to return in a timely manner for the remaining work. I think it was a good thing I did that as after the first install, communication went through the toilet on their end. Otherwise would have been 5 star review. Only other complaint is we bought a stainless steel sink from them as well and it is rusting in areas. Overall we are very happy with our new counter top read more

Very friendly, professional, and efficient service! They promised us a finish date and got the job done in 2 weeks flat as promised. The bonus was they were only in our house for 1 day, and we have a pretty big kitchen! It was nice to not have to take of extra work to be there during the install since they did all the prep work in advance in their warehouse. The owner came to our home, helped us talk through our design, and drew out a diagram of our granite to ensure that the fabricators cut our slab in a way that captured the movement in the piece we chose. He even offered for us to be able to speak to the fabricators personally in the warehouse if we wanted but said "I'll take care of it" since I was busy - and they sure delivered! We actually chose 2 different varieties of granite (1 for the island and 1 for the perimeter) and their installation made it all flow very well even with the movement in the pieces! He worked with us on pricing and helped us get the best, most reasonable deal. We checked a number of different companies before choosing this one and we're so glad we waited because it saved us a ton! He even helped us accommodate our custom design of extra thick edges (3cm granite edges with additional 1.5 cm added) without the over pricing that usually comes with custom touches. Would definitely recommend this company and planning to call them again when I start my bathroom remodel! read more

Per the recommendation of my cabinet installer and decent yelp reviews, we hired Glen with express marble. At first he seemed professional and efficient, but I was completely wrong. During the process, I reached out to Glen to get the measurements of the countertop he proceeded to tell me he didn't work for me so therefore he doesn't answer to me. We had already paid for the slab and I was absolutely dumbfounded and felt stuck with his unprofessionalism. In addition, Glen hires third-party installers who do you not speak English there for communication is difficult plus they provide a two hour window but show up on the fourth hour because they stopped for lunch. Save yourself some time and go with a different company don't get stuck like I did. read more

They were subcontractors on a kitchen update and my quartz countertops look good. Not sure the gentleman's name who did the main part, yet, gentleman is the correct term. Worked constantly, answered our questions and quite good-looking, I'll just add. Younger employee assisted and polished, as they also did a good clean-up. read more

Just completed new granite island and counters with a backsplash yesterday. Was good getting everything set up and purchasing the granite and sink, price was moderate to low I would guess based on other estimates. Everything ended up turning out good so I wouldn't say to not use them, but I am rating this company "A-OK" however because of the following issues: When I asked about the backsplash install, they said to just take pics of what I wanted and where to get it and they would purchase it and price accordingly. What ended up happening was I had to pick it out myself, guess how much tile to buy based on the square footage, and also try and figure out what kind of materials I needed (I am not a tile contractor so how would I know.) I ended up coming up short on tiles and had to go back to purchase more The backsplash installer couldn't make it on the designated day, which we had made time to be there all day, and had to change our plans the following week to accomodate. The mess left from the granite install is likely to be unavoidable but it would have been nice to get a heads up that EVERYTHING in cabinets and drawers beneath the counters will be covered in white dust and chunks of glue? caulking? so you could remove anything in them, we had to wash every single dish and appliance when they could have been removed. Lastly, probably the most frustrating, was the fact that we were having an island extended with a 16 inch overhang for seating. Nothing was mentioned about supporting the granite overhang, I assumed it would just be taken care of, it wasn't. I just happened to ask 4 days prior to install how they would support the granite overhang without us having to worry about it breaking, I was told that I had to buy my own support brackets, and when I asked what kind of brackets and where to get them, they told me to go online and look. Again, I am not a granite contractor so I was lost, do I pay $50 each for support brackets MADE for granite and rush ship them for another $50? Buy wood corbels? buy shelf brackets? Anything I brought up that might work was met with a "Not sure" or "Yeah, that might work" or "we can't install those" The support bracket issue won't be a problem unless you have a large overhang of granite, but if you do, be prepared to go online and research what type of brackets you'll need and where to get them. You will also need to make sure they will install it, a real headache that I felt the granite contractor should already know what to do and how to do it and not rely on you to buy your own supports and pick the right kind. I ended up just going to Lowe's and buying 1/4 inch steel "L" brackets, so I hope they work, I will definitely update this review if my island ends up breaking off and falling on me or my children. read more

I recently worked with Glen Rapaj and Express Marble & Granite to install new countertops and sinks in my kitchen and bathroom. Glen is one of the owners of the company. Let me start by saying I have no issue with the installation and I am satisfied with the work they did. However, I would caution anyone against working with Glen as a result of his ethics and disrespect to his customers. He was extremely unorganized and personally made the project very unpleasant. My first interaction was with an employee of his, Michael. Michael was very pleasant to work with and quick to respond to any questions or needs. He was a big reason that I decided to move forward with Express Marble & Granite. However, Michael was fired 1 hour after I received an email from him. I found this out when I was told that Michael doesn't work there by another associate, while I was at Arizona Tile picking out slabs of granite. The reasons were none of my business, so I though nothing of it. This is where things began taking a turn for the worse. At this point I began working with Glen and another employee of his. They seemed to be unaware of any of the progress that I had made with Michael, so I had to send them the contract that had already been negotiated. I was not concerned about this at the time, as it seemed that Michael's departure was sudden. In the contract, it clearly stated that tax was included and that the "final price includes removal of all counter tops with assistance from the owners in its removal." During our negotiations with Michael, it was very clear that "assistance from the owners" meant that I would remove all of the sinks and backsplashes, and they would do the rest. I also added a clause to the contract that payment was due on the day of completion of the job, and that no deposit was required up front. I did this after reading some of the questionable reviews from Express Marble & Grantite's previous customers. Glen said that he was confident in the work they do and agreed to this provision. During the fabrication process, there were a few instances where I received contradicting information from Glen and his employee. For example, we originally agreed on one seam, but I got a call saying the fabricator said he can't do one seam and they will need to have a second. I told them that we had agreed on one seam and asked what changed. I was forced to be the middle man between Glen and his employee. Eventually I get a call from Glen asking me what the problem was with having the one seam that we originally agreed on. This was obviously confusing and left me feeling less than confident after the fabricator said they couldn't do one seam, but Glen said they could. We agreed on one seam, which I am happy with, but the process was more complicated and unorganized than it should have been. Despite being 2 hours late, the installers did a great job. They were clean, fast, and thorough. I was pleased with the work they did. The only issue was them forgetting to install a piece of granite on the window sill, which Glen agreed to provide for free as part of the job. I wasn't concerned by this because I assumed I could get it from him when I paid. When it came time to pay was when the real issues with Glen occurred. First, he tried to add sales tax to the already agreed upon cost, which clearly included tax on the contract. When I refused to pay that, he tried to charge me an additional $350 for the removal of the old countertops, which was included in the cost of the contract, "with the assistance of the owners," which I provided as negotiated with the original employee, Michael. When I again refused to pay more than the agreed upon cost he became disrespectful, and then told me that if I wanted the windowsill piece that he originally promised, I would have to pay $200 extra. I again refused to pay more than what we agreed on, which is when he told his employee to start the process to put a lien on my house. For the next 3-4 days he held the windowsill piece hostage since I refused to pay more. After finally agreeing to give me the sill piece for the originally agreed upon price, he insisted on cash, which concerned me based on how unethical he had been up to that point. He said he would only accept cash because I was somehow being shady and he said I would cancel the check. After finally agreeing on a certified bank check, he then insisted I sign something else stating that the job was done, which was supposed to be the point of the original contract that he had such a hard time abiding by. He agreed to stop the lien process, and I signed his pointless statement. The point is that the work was well done, but Glen was extremely disrespectful (I have texts to prove it), and he made the experience miserable because he didn't want to follow through on what he agreed on, while somehow accusing me of doing him wrong. Beware of Glen and include every detail on the contract IF you choose to do business with him. read more

My kitchen counters turned out just so-so. Some of the seams were not cut well, not straight, and leaving gaps. The caulking that the installers used was horrible - the kind that stays sticky and never really dries, which just attracts dirt that can never be cleaned off. I had to call them a number of times to schedule a time for them to come back and finish the job. And a big mess was left outside, from the cutting and polishing they did. A better cleanup outside after themselves would have been a nice courtesy. Lastly, and maybe this is just me, but it bothered me that one of the installers constantly used my bathroom. Wish I had spend my money with another company. read more

I don't know about the bad reviews posted here but my experience (8/2018) was excellent. I've done many rehab jobs and was helping a friend remodel a small investment condo. We were gutting the kitchen and found Express Marble online and drove down to their location. The woman at Express helped us pick out remnant pieces for the kitchen counters for very a reasonable price and gave us a cash discount. They came out to measure and provided some good advice about the design of the island and type of sink that would work best. They showed up when scheduled and completed the install. When the refrigerator was put in place it was a tight fit with the counter so they didn't hesitate to come back and trim that piece so the fit was perfect. The counters look awesome and this company was great to work with. They just delivered as promised at a good price. read more

Cracked granite on install, never repaired. This is shoddy workmanship and disorganized cluelessness

I'll start by saying these guys measure and install faster then anyone else we looked into which is great BUT communication is terrible. The installers showed up without any backsplash and claimed we didn't want any and even after speaking directly to the owner whom we did confirm we wanted backsplash with they continued to say we didn't and there was no offer to rectify this so we've had to change our design plans. The owner also recommended adding a small piece of granite to our window sill which sounded great and offered to do it at no additional cost but of course showed up with a piece that didn't fit and when it was brought up, the owner said he would cut another piece but we would have to pick it up (30 minute drive one way) and install it ourselves, really? And I won't even start about the mess a worker made in our bathroom (gross). read more

In reference to "Scott O's" review of his experience with Express Marble & Granite. I was involved with Mr. O from the beginning when his representative began the process of having an estimate done for his project. From the beginning, budget was the foremost concern and Glen and the team at Express Marble & Granite did all that could be done to accommodate this aspect while still keeping quality and value in the project. Glen & the team literally spent weeks going back and forth over material selections, complimentary on site field measures, and more than one revision of the contract. When a decision was finally reached by "Scott O" to go with Express Marble & Granite he expressed hesitation on putting down a deposit (Which anywhere in the United States is unheard of especially in the custom design industry). Glen, the principal of Express Marble & Granite continued to extend courtesy's to Scott O and this time it was in the form of NOT REQUIRING A DEPOSIT and thus outlaying his time, personal money, and good faith in the client. Despite the good will of Glen, the client did not keep his end of the signed contract which clearly stated the client would assist in removing all counters (this means counters & plumbing). This added more incurred cost to Express Marble & Granite and a project that was already in the red financially clearly went in the negative. Despite this, Glen extended one further courtesy, in hoping to have a happy client, and provided a COMPLIMENTARY window sill that the client had the audacity to request. Despite all of the efforts extended to Scott O he unfortunately decided to write an ill review of the quality work done by Express Marble & Granite. There is an equation known as the VALUE EQUATION WHICH STATES THAT FEATURES+BENEFITS=VALUE. The value Mr. Scott O received was far greater than the unreasonable manner he conducted himself in and that is unfortunate. Scott O received a beautiful end product while the Artisans that produced the final product lost time, money, and dignity from an unscrupulous and unfair review. read more

So I can't review the company based on the work they did because I never received my quote on remodeling two of my bathrooms. Art came out and measured and I received my quote on my sinks but never the tile work that needed to be done. After contacting Art twice about getting the quote I was blown off and needless to say I'm super disappointed. We needed our work done ASAP because we are selling our house and unfortunately they didn't come through for us. I would recommend going somewhere else with your remodeling needs, at least someplace that will get back to you with your quote. read more

In hindsight, I would never have selected this company for my kitchen counter tops had I known what I was getting into. The Good: excellent installation. Express Marble contracted the work to some very skilled workers. The Bad: once installed, it became clear that we did not get two "features" clearly identified in the contract: 1) a metal support for the extensive overhang on the kitchen island; and 2) the overhang was not designed to the depth agreed-to (in the contract). The Ugly: the Owner of Express Marble (Glen) said that we did not need the two features, and said that we need not be concerned about the safety nor design inconsistency, and that our contract could be ignored. Again, these features were clearly called-out in the Express Marble contract. The unbelievable outcome was that the Owner (Glen) threatened to put a lien on our house unless the bill was paid in full, immediately. Any attempt to rationally negotiate a contract fulfillment was like, for lack of a better term, trying to negotiate with a rock. In the end, the safety issue was resolved BY ME: I built and retrofitted a steel support system for the extensive overhang. The Owner (Glen) paid the minimal cost of the steel used in the retrofit. The labor and material attainment fell to ME. The lien (threat?) was dropped. Buyer Beware! A contract with this company may be ignored (except for the money owed by You). read more

I love my granite countertops! Glen was so patient while I picked them out and assured me they would make a nice finished product! He was so right! The granite looks awesome in my kitchen. His installers were there on time as promised. The first set of installers did a good job, but a little messy with caulk in a rough spot! The second group that came for an additional install, Phillips and Reyneault (Rayno) were awesome. They were precise and did excellent work and cleanup. When I showed them the caulking from previous installers they cleaned it up and fixed some rough spots! Awesome! I would highly recommend Glen and his company! read more

Very pleased with the end result. Glen did a lot of extra things that the other 2 bids I received would not do. They lowered an indoor and outdoor bar and moved electrical at no extra cost. This was a huge savings to us. We also have an oversized island so that was no easy job for install. Also ...installers were very easy to work with.
