Re-New Cabinets updated my kitchen cabinets from boring, peeling grey painted panels to gorgeous natural Alder wood cabinets. The work included refacing, new doors, and new drawers. From the first phone call to the final walkthrough everyone at Re-New Cabinets was friendly, professional, and extremely helpful. They are serious about their craftmanship and customer service. They were quite flexible and accomodating in scheduling the install during a busy time of year. I struggle to have an artistic eye. Veronica and Arlette, with their many years of design experience, unearthed my style preferences without being pushy in any manner. They provided pros and cons for the many options I reviewed. The showroom choice of doors, hardware, and countertop options is substanial and displays their quality work. In addition to showroom stock, vendor catalogs are available. It is so rare to find a company which really showcases their products. Carlos did the measurments and drawings, provding several suggestions which enhanced the end result. Homero was maticulous in his detail, care, and effort of the install work. His work is that of an artist with obvious pride of the completed project. Homero suggested and completed a beautiful way to hide an over-the-sink strip light. Each day he arrived in the stated timeframe and thoroughly cleaned the kitchen and work area before he left. Updated Review/Renew Cabinets After less than 1 year actual use (seasonal) by 2 adults, our kitchen island drawer fronts are blistering!!! The occasional, undetected, smallest water droplet penetrates the material! One can only logically conclude the materials used and promoted by Renew Cabinets are NOT appropriate for kitchens, laundry rooms or bathrooms. Renew Cabinets clearly is aware of this problem covering themselves legally ( but not morally) with their care instructions and VERY limited warranty which specifically EXCLUDES any and all water damage REGARDLESS of the time frame, circumstances and EVEN normal wear! After installation, issues are met with a total lack of any responsibility to resolve the issues in good faith. We put our trust and faith in Renew Cabinets for our small kitchen at a cost of $18,663.92. Upon completion of the project, we VERY GENEROUSLY gave a 5 star review ( at their urging). Arlette and Robert, the owners, were both involved in the project and did a great job keeping me up to date with emails on what had been completed, and what was yet to be completed. If there was a zero stars option, I would have selected it. How or why does water (soft water) cause paint to flake off? We are extremely disappointed with the quality of the work and not being compensated by the owners. I reached out to Arlette and let her know what has happened. She immediately referred me the the document that said "water damage is not covered". I couldn't believe my ears and finally she relented and said they would redo the chipped off paint, but only once and it would be in 6 - 8 weeks. The morning before the technician arrived, I meticulously cleaned each door that needed to be refinished. The next day Arlette had the audacity to tell me our doors were filthy and there was hair on a the door. (she also sent a few pictures which were NOT our doors.) I called her on her trickery and then she promptly cancelled the repair job and returned our doors in the chipped paint version. So here we are $28K+ later with chipped paint on our cabinet doors. We are giving 2 stars to this company, largely based on the challenges with customer service, and general lack of understanding how to run a business. This comes primarily from from the two owners, Robert and Arlette. They are always quick to tell you that "this is a family business" and that reviews and positive feedback are so important so them, but the organization is unreceptive to feedback of any kind, and struggles with accountability for their mistakes, and quality of workmanship. Before I start, I want to be clear and fair - the work is complete, and the physical cabinets look great. That said, we paid almost $35,000 to reface our kitchen cabinets and a single row of cabinets in our family room entertainment center, so I would expect that we should be delighted with the finished product. We had three problems with our Re-New Cabinets experience. The largest was that they scratched our brand new kitchen floors when installing our pantry. These floors were less than a week old, and now have several permanent scratches that are already proving to be problematic. When we informed the company of the scratches, they took no accountability - never so much as an apology. The worker did his best to buff them out when the work was done, but they are still very visible, and will be forever. Our biggest mistake was signing off on the contract. We should have withheld payment until the floors were replaced, as they are irreparable. They told us that they were "not that bad" and that the worker corrected the scratches, but they are not corrected. It's too late now, and we have to live with them. It drives my wife crazy The second issue was that a set of adjacent drawers in the kitchen rubbed together when pulled out simultaneously. They simply required an adjustment that was not made at the time of installation. OK, honest mistake. We called the company, and both Arlette and Robert got on the speaker phone to yell at my wife. They told her that the drawers should not be opened at the same time, and that nobody opens two drawers at the same time. They did not want to send someone out to fix them. After explaining that we just spent a considerable amount of money on this project, and still had the entertainment center project ahead of us, we expected that it should be correct. They reluctantly sent out a guy to adjust the drawers. It took him less than 5 minutes to fix it, and I'm not sure why this was such and issue for them. It should not be this difficult to have a vendor perform quality work, and stand behind it. I tried to text Robert the owner, and asked to speak with him personally. My goal was to simply tell him that these things are bad for business, and that customer service is important in the service industry. I sent him pictures of the floors, and explained the drawer situation, and he replied by insinuating that I was trying to get some sort of discount on the entertainment center. He told me that these pictures look different than the ones that he received from his team. They were, since I sent him the original damage, and he saw the "buffed out" pictures. He commented that some of our appliances were dented, which I didn't really understand. He took zero responsibility for the floors, and had no interest in talking to me. A simple apology would have been nice. And for this kind of money, when the job is not correct, there should be NO questions asked - you send someone out to fix the problem. Especially if you are "family owned business" where reviews are "so important to you". The job has been done for a few weeks now, and we recently noticed that the glue bead under each one of the pull out drawers in the pantry is now failing. There are long strips of glue bead hanging from each one of them. My wife contacted the company, and we received an email stating that this has never happened before, and they have never seen anything like this in 43 years. We were told that the glue comes from the drawer manufacturer, and that it only holds the drawers together during the fabrication process. We can simply snip it off, it will not affect their performance. This may be true, but it does not inspire confidence. I have a hard time believing that in 43 years, this the first time that this has happened, but it happened to every single one of our drawers. My advice to anyone considering this company, like others before me have stated, is to expect a poor customer experience. Hopefully things go well, because if they do not it will be a challenge. Force them to be accountable, do not allow them to skirt their responsibilities, and do not accept poor workmanship. They will fight you, because feedback is not something that they receive well. In retrospect, we should have simply put in brand new cabinets. We saved a few bucks to install a thin veneer over our existing cabinets, but the extra money would have been worth it, and I am not optimistic of the durability. read more

Her favorite excuses are: "it's not our fault" or "it's not in the contract".... AND she's a TERRIBLE COMMUNICATOR so don't ask her for anything related to when a project might be done. We made a mistake ... don't repeat it. We were told 4-6 days to install our new kitchen (which I knew was B.S. from the minute I heard it) it took 6 weeks and not a single person showed up on sight for over 2 weeks in the middle of this. I basically threatened to not let them finish if it wasn't done by the end of week and they had a guy here on Friday morning and he worked until 6pm. Over promised and undeliver is spot on. Both Arlette and Robert are unprofessional, rude and threatening. See email from Arlette threatening that if we didn't pay she would put a lien on the house and sue (prior to all work being done). Also, they will leave out during the sales pitch they file a pre-lien on your property prior to work even being started. On 6/28 Robert signed an agreement to fix all issues, including installing a cabinet within 3-4 weeks. They never called us to complete work. Instead we continued to call. They cancelled on us last minute 4 times and refused to give a time they would be there. Finally on 9/28 2 workers showed up to install 1 cabinet only and they knew nothing about fixing anything. The workers said they didn't know when someone would be out to fix the backsplash. They were just going to leave the backsplash uneven. My dad has cancer and can't handle stress. They knew house was being listed for sale once kitchen was completed and it was important to get done timely. To date they received payment in full and did not complete all work agreed to in contracts. They were offended by the pictures and request for items to be fixed. It is now 8 weeks since the installers left my house. When they left they still owed me a shelf, the one they cut on site was measured wrong and they cut too short. I had also ordered decorative facing for the end caps of the cabinets which they did not have with them. They sent me a text two weeks after they left stating they would be by on a Saturday with the shelf, which did not work for me. I responded with dates that would work for me and reminded them about the decorative end caps and that they never re-secured my pull-out oven,(the screws were left inside), that there was a loose cabinet facing and that I would like a bit of touch-up paint. Since that time I have never heard from them again. I believe that as a business owner, Robert (who was so anxious to get the work) should contact the customer, set-up a time and see the finished job. Make sure everything was done up to standards. After all it his company, not the installers. Once the installers left, I have never heard from him again. So as I stated.... still waiting for the my shelf, decorative end caps, touch-up paint, but most importantly, a call from the owner of the company who came into my home and sold me on why I should use his company. $14,000.00 later the job has still not been completed. read more
