Got a flyer in our mailbox so decided to call them. Came out for an estimate, gave us a quote and a date to trim our tree. They never showed up or called. When I contacted them I was told they had some mechanic issue and would still be able to make it. They still never showed, nor did they call to reschedule. Based on some previous reviews, it seems like a pattern for this company to no call no show. No wonder they go around handing out flyers. I now know why Hunter Tree Care was the lowest bidder from among the arborists I received quotes from. We needed for our VERY large, old, California Black Oak tree to be cleaned up and all the mistletoe removed, except for the branches over the power lines. Pacific Power contracts w/ a company to do that work. Hunter Tree Service assured us that they could remove all the mistletoe at the far ends of many of the higher branches. When they said they were done, the reason they gave for not removing the mistletoe from all those high branches was that their equipment would not reach that far. Of course they had to know this at the start, but obviously they must be hard up for work. If you are considering this company because they are the low bidder, you might want to reconsider your decision! read more

I was solicited by Hunter Tree Care with a flyer in my mailbox. I contacted Eric to get an estimate for cutting down a tree. We made an appointment for the next day between 11-12. He was a no show. I waited 1/2 hour past our scheduled time. I called him and left a message inquiring what had happened and if he was coming down at a later time. I did not get a return call from Eric. I am deeply disappointed that he would not take the courtesy to return my call. After all I did waste 1 1/2 hours of my time waiting for him to show. Needless to say, I will never use Hunter Tree Care, nor will I recommend him. Eric I am so disappointed in you. And please don't tell me you did not get my phone call. After all, you were the one who set up the time for the estimate. read more

Eric and his crew far exceeded our expectations. Their promptness, and attention to detail were provided at a very fair price. They pruned 4 of our large trees, and cut down one of our Oldest Oaks on property that had died. We will use Hunter Tree Service again for all of our tree needs. The job was not completed to my satisfaction, and Eric said he would come back and fix it. But, he never did. I called him 3 times and he promised to come back, but completely blew me off. I am not happy with the overall outcome of the job, but paid a premium price which I feel was too much for the work I received. At the very least I would have expected him to keep his word and come back as promised and finish the job to my satisfaction, especially for the amount I paid him. I am very disappointed, and now I have a tree branch right hanging in the way of my view and I cant get to it to cut it myself. Thank you for blowing me off Eric, not very professional. read more

Not sure of the negative review posted here earlier, as my experience was the complete opposite. Five stars from start to finish. Perhaps there were mitigating circumstances with the earlier two star post. When I first called Hunter Tree Care, which I believe was slightly after five o'clock, I was impressed that not only the call was picked up, but it happened to be the owner answering his own calls. Good start. He was able to quickly get me in for an estimate. He was on time, and provided a very competitive bid. Booked the job, and happy we did so. He and his crew were on time for it, completed what was expected, and cleaned up the job site well after they were finished. I have already given his contact information to a coworker of mine as a referral ....and I hope to use his services again in the near future as well. read more

Unprofessional. Did not show up for two separate appointments and did not even call to express why. At first I thought they did not show up due to COVID. When I called the second time, they said they would come at a certain day but it's been 3 weeks and they have not showed up nor called to apologize for not showing up . Their work is sloppy. I had to re-prune my Japanese maple after they left because the work was not completely finished. Another tree was not completely pruned either. They quote unbelievably low prices but don't be fooled because the work quality is poor and the work ethic is zero! read more

Eric is an Arborist who believes that removing a tree should be the last resort after all other efforts to save it have failed. He inspected all of our trees, with recommendations for how to prevent disease and insects without resorting to insecticides. One of our Birch trees was badly infested with bronze bore beetles. There was nothing Eric could do to save it, so he and his crew had to take it out. They replaced it with a new tree without endangering the underground utility lines. Eric is honest and his estimates are extremely fair. I have referred him to several other homeowners and HOA's. He and his crew are awesome! read more
