This year twice with a huge corner tree removed thanks to their new very tall "cherry picker". His son Travis and crew of 4 did a dangerous but spectacular job including grinding the stump, chipping the limbs and brush and finishing with a perfect cleanup. Buck, Paul, and the crew arrived right on time. They were friendly and courteous throughout the job, even putting a piece of cardboard under the equipment in case any oil dripped on the ground - that's the attention to detail I like to see! Will,& his son Travis seen the danger that this tree presented. They showed up the next day, after their regular 8 hour work day...& cut down my tree, from their extra height boom truck. They cut up the tree into pieces,& hauled away, like they were never there. Our 45 foot tall spruce tree fell on our house during a wind storm with a loud BOOM. The tree literally snapped, and damaged the corner of the house, taking out our power line and causing other significant damage, including to the roof. Fortunately, we were not injured. Will and his crew came and cleaned up the tree mess immediately, unblocking the driveway and allowing repairs to be started. They were fantastic, and took the huge stump also! They are also contractors, and started immediately to repair the roof after we notified our insurance company. Will is a real arborist, with a degree from OSU. He showed us the signs of disease in the tree that fell. We had just had that tree evaluated by another company (who said it was fine), and they did not know enough to see that it was diseased. I recommend Advanced Tree Service and Landscaping highly, both for their expediency when we need them, and for their expertise. Have a REAL arborist look at your trees, now that we had had a long drought. And call them if you have an emergency--they'll come and help! read more

We had two trees removed - A huge maple (~30ft - 40ft tall) and a very sick pine. When I called to get a quote, the owner was over within the hour. Great guy and a great group of guys came out a few days later. Clean cut, professional and took the time to ensure nothing got damaged. They even raked the entire working area to remove any branches and debris left behind. They came back a few days later to grind the stumps and everything went perfectly. Absolutely would recommend. Price was very fair for the complex work that needed to be done. The crew had to disassemble a gate to get into the property and put the gate right back together on the way out. The company finished their second session removing troubled trees from our five acres. In total, they have taken out nearly 60 trees, some reaching 100', and all in difficult terrain. Their performance was astonishingly good, given the snow last year, and the hard-to-reach trees this year. On time, on budget, good senior discount, pleasant, highly skilled fallers and laborers. so bad can't believe they are still in business. They cut down two perfectly good 15 foot maples. The so called arborist said they were dead. After they were cut down I saw the trunk was totally healthy inside. I had to wait days before they came in to grind trunk and that was only after asking them to do it! Needed to get some branches lifted off the roof of the house we were selling. ATS was able to come right away, so we contracted with them. The branches were removed over the house, but were sheared vertically all the way to the roofline. Rather than just trimming and lifting the branches off the roof, everything was cut back so the tree was left lopsided, with nothing over the roof, and stub-cut branches coming up to the gutters. Got a quote from Advanced Tree Service that included the removal of one tree and thinning and lowering of another. They removed one tree and thinned the other, BUT did not lower it which would have required a bucket truck. Since the quote included the bucket truck, I called and asked that they refund a portion of my payment. I was told by their Sales person (Dan) that they would refund $200 or bring the bucket truck out and lower the tree. It has been over one month and have not heard from them. Will Danielson must think that not addressing such issue will make it go away. Based on this, I would not recommend Advanced Tree Service to perform tree service or landscaping. Apparently customer service doesn't apply to Will Danielson. read more

I am super happy I found these guys. They did exactly what I needed for a price I could afford. I got lucky, I got the bid on Monday and the crew was there on Tuesday morning. They did the job they quoted for the price they quoted. I have 4 big fir trees (70ft) in my backyard that were dropping branches. They have been neglected for years. I just bought the house a year ago. I wish someone had taken care of them but it left me at a spot I had to have a lot of pruning done. I added one more tree to the job a really big sycamore. The price was fair. The work is great. There were 9 guys on the job, it took about 2.5 hours. It was a lot of work, it happened fast and efficient. 2 of trees were really close to the fence I was concerned the falling branches would damage the fence but the crew was really careful because everything survived. We had a problem tree (dead 35 foot tall birch mingled with powerlines and hanging over the roof) that needed to be removed form our property in Jacksonville. As a "tree city", Jacksonville has a permit process that requires several steps before you can just drop a tree. Advanced helped us jump through the hoops and took the tree down in no time. I called Advanced Tree Service and I think it was Will, came out and gave me bid of $1,500. I needed some trimming and one tree in the front yard cut down. I also needed the stump removed because I wanted to plant another tree there to replace the diseased old pine tree. We agreed on everything and they came to do the work early the next week. They were very nice the tree climber spoke English and the two helpers spoke Spanish. They did a nice job, but I noticed the stump was still there. The climber called Steve, and told me he would be by the following week as the grinder was at another job site and grind the stump out. I paid him as he promised it would be done. I never heard from him the next week, I called and Steve came out the next week, but the grinder machine broke. He said he would be back in a couple days and get it done. I never heard from him again, called him and he said he would be the next day, never called and ever showed up again! I called again, he said he would come out today, Friday........never showed up or called. I guess they got paid, so they don't want to deal with it? I am not sure what else to do. I feel cheated. I get the feeling they have done this before or maybe they will show up some day? It has been over a month. I will post it if it ever gets done! read more

The crew came out and removed the trees as contracted. However, when chipping the large tree in back, the chips covered up a large stump which wasn't chipped. Despite numerous calls, discussions and commitments made by Advance Tree Service, no one has come out to work on the stump and recent phone calls have not been answered and voice mails ignored. While the first interview led us to believe they were professionals, their actions and behavior in addressing our concerns about the stump they left behind showed them not be professional and no interest in fixing a problem they left behind. Do not use this place. Will seemed nice at first. He came to do a bid on tree and bush removal. Usually when you get a bid you are comparing to other bids. An owner of a company should know that! He bid $800+ over the other companies I had come out to do bids. He called saying he was ready to go and I told him about the lower bid and he said "I don't have time for this! Fine go with them" and hung up on me! That is terrible business! I would never give him my business just because of his crappy attitude and rudeness! If you do get a bid from him I would definitely get others! He is very overpriced! read more

I hired Advanced after the big snow storm in late February. They worked here for five days and cleaned up an enormous amount of downed trees and branches! The crew took suggestions well and were flexible in changing attack plans as I needed. After three days in the job, with two more coming, they reduced their daily fee for the same amount of work! We received a quote from the owner of the company Will Danielson, for the following work; 1) Remove Mistletoe from 3 Oaks for 1300.00 2) Cut and remove 2 small cedar trees that were bug infested.350.00. He said as we were Senior citizens we would get a 150.00 discount and quoted that fact on his paperwork. We agreed to have Advanced do the work but excluded the Cedar trees as they are small enough we can cut them down ourselves. When the oak tree work was finished, the workers presented a new bill that did not include a senior discount. We questioned why there wasn't a senior discount but the workers said that Will had given them this new bill and it had to be paid. We paid it but called Will within a few minutes of the workers leaving. So even though we are over 70 years old, he arbitrarily said he would not honor his original estimate and give a senior discount to us. This is not a company that I would or will recommend when they will not abide by their original written quote. I give this company 1 star because you cannot believe they will be honest with their quotes. read more

BEWARE! If it were possible I would give them no stars. They took down two sections of my wood fence WITHOUT MY PERMISSION to take the tree down. They "put the fence back up" and now it looks like it is about to fall down and sways when you touch it. Their machinery put gauges in my driveway and they broke part of my french drain. Wow, I am so sorry to hear about the other reviewer's experience. Not sure what happened there, but my experience was the exact opposite. We have had a couple of half dead trees located in a precarious position next to our mobile home for some time that needed to be removed. We happened to see these guys working on some trees in a neighbor's yard and stopped on a whim to talk to them. Will (the owner) offered to take the trees down right then and there for a really good deal. By the end of the day, the trees were down and the stumps were ground up and taken away. read more
